Bringing down the Battlecruiser
[x] Bring down the Battlecruiser

The assault on the terran battlecruiser is a bloody affair.

Your infested Wraiths might have a good deal of firepower with they're scourge launchers but no one from your brood has any experience taking on battlecruisers and you do not yet have the overwhelming numbers preferred by your kind.

Still you the fighters you sent up do admirably for their first battle and the Terran ship is knocked out of orbit, although it crashes with what you assume is minimum casualties to the actual crew. Not a perfect outcome by any means but at least this means that the ship can't rain fire on you from orbit or support the terran base now.

XXXX

You fortify the cultural city making it harder for enemy assaults to destroy your hives in the area.

In addition Terra researches the infested Dropship. This large vessel isn't much for offense but it is extremely hard for enemies to shoot down and can carry a large number of troops, in addition even if it is shot down the soldiers within will be able to deploy to the ground safely thanks to integrated drop pods.

What do you do? (Choose 2)
[x] The Ogre strain is a great improvement on what you have, but you feel that you can do more.
[x] Create another natural grown infested terran.
[x] Build another infested barracks within the next city.
[x] Try and take the factory city. (Well written plane provides bonus to role)
[x] Attack the downed Terran Ship.
[x] Try and take the Terran base.
[x] Create another Cerebrate level infested Terran.
[x] You need something to fill the role of Cerebrate in your forces, after all you can only do so much yourself.

[x] Perdition Turret (Fire) "With these we can burn all the bad guys!"
[x] Perdition Turret (Chemical) "On the other hand we can melt them with acid instead!"

[x] Juggernaut Plating: "FIrebats are very potent but they tend to lack a bit in the durability department, I think we should fix that!"'
[x] Rex "Rawer!"
[x] Explosive Marines "Those old school exploding marines are pretty potent, maybe we should see if we can copy them?"

We should attack the ship before it can hail for help or fortify its position, and having a big unit as well as stronger Ogres should allow us to get it.

We have the chaff, now we need some heavy hitters. Meaty frontline units combo well with our medics as well.

"Unlike Geth, Zerg do intentionally infiltrate." Sneak in a few of our improved Infested Marines to cause some chaos once the rest of the horde attacks. Use infested Wraths and anything that can count as artillery for an alpha strike to take out defensive positions and heavy weapons. Order infiltrated Infested Marines to shoot up the reserves. Do we have Infesters? If so, hand them out like grenades.

Taking the Ship
[x] Taking the Ship

You launch and assault upon the Terran Ship.

The fighting is bitter to say the least.

Unlike most of your ground battle up until this point you are fighting an enemy that is coordinated and well dug it with bunkers, missile turrets, and even the terran vehicles known as Goliaths.

In fact your very first attack is repelled as the bunkers hold under fire from your infested marines and the missile turrets manage to keep your infested wraiths from closing in.

Your next attack however is much better prepared as Ogres and infested firebats lead the change, cracking open the terran bunkers to allow your weaker strains through before going to town on the missile turrets so that your infested wraiths can get in close and start doing damage to the terran ground forces.

Still the fighting is brutal and several of your Ogres and scores of weaker troops are downed before you take the ship, but you take the ship all the same along with anyone of worth that was inside the craft.

XXXXX

The terran base while undersupplied has managed to fortify itself to a small degree and even has a handful of siege tanks that where apparently unloaded before you managed to bring down they're craft.

Irritating but these things happen.

XXXXX

You build a barracks in the startport city to allow for the production of infested marines. Hopefully with the extra facilities you can increase the number of combat forms faster if the vision your late father showed to you is true you'll need all the firepower you can get.

XXXXX

Terra also manages to make something of the old essence she found.

"Do you like it?" Terra says as she walks up next to your larval form and gestures to her creation. "I named it the Rexlist because our people apparently like putting lisk at the end of every name!"

Standing in from of you is a massive bipedal Zerg based off of the ancient creatures of human legends.

The closest equivalent you can imagine to this creature would be the lowly Ultralisk but there are a few key differences between the two. The Rexlisk is much weaker against groups then the Ultralisk and is less durable, but is far faster and is much more potent against single opponents. The ability to 'lock down' as Terra puts it another giant enemy by biting into them and using the venom coated teeth that Terra had modified into the creature for is one of the bigger reasons for this advantage as it leaves the Rexlisks victim incapable of fighting back.

You believe that this well be a very useful addition to your forces.

What do you do? (Choose 2)
[x] The Ogre strain is a great improvement on what you have, but you feel that you can do more.
[x] Create another natural grown infested terran.
[x] Build another infested barracks within the cultural city.
[x] Try and take the factory city. (Well written plane provides bonus to role)
[x] Scavenge the remains of the Terran Ship,
[x] Try and take the Terran base.
[x] Create another Cerebrate level infested Terran.

Terra's research projects. (Choose 1)
[x] Shrike turrets "Hey dad! Let's put a gun on those infested bunkers it'll make them even better at shooting the enemy!"
[x] Fortified Bunker "If we make bunkers tougher and able to hold more marines that's good! Right daddy!?"
[x] Infested Marine Stage 2 "Updating individual infested Maine traits does help the overall force but I feel that it would be a better idea to revamp the whole package. We might even be able to create a new stage of frontline combatant if things go well enough with the upgrades."
[x] Perdition Turret (Fire) "With these we can burn all the bad guys!"
[x] Perdition Turret (Chemical) "On the other hand we can melt them with acid instead!"
[x] Bioports: "It will cost the infested Starports ability to take flight, but if you want I can modify the infested startport so it can create pure Zerg strains in addition to infested terran units."
[x] Juggernaut Plating: "FIrebats are very potent but they tend to lack a bit in the durability department, I think we should fix that!"'
[x] Explosive Marines "Those old school exploding marines are pretty potent, maybe we should see if we can copy them?"

Results: Ship taken intact but extremely damaged after long fight, Barracks build in Starport City, the Terran base has a pair of siege tanks and great fortification, Rexlisk researched.

OOC: Just a quick heads up you guys, your nearing the end of the planetary stage. When this is done you guys will have to pick the form you want your new swarm leader to take and will probably have some work out a more detailed command structure. I'll give you options as
needed but I'm more than happy to reward active discussion and good ideas if they come up.
