C&C Generals: The Liberation is At Hand [Quest]

Hmm, what detector assets do we have? We're almost certainly going to want to task our Hind to Commando hunting.

[X] Disconnect them.

No telling what these could activate so best to disable them until after the battle.

[X]Write In: Deploy Jarmen Kell to find the mystery killer before they strike somewhere vital.

We also need to deal with what appaears to be a melee commando skulking around the base.

Why would you think it's a commando and it's just one? :p

Also, no real detection assets; other than local radar and mark one eyeballs.

Well, Crusader tanks presumably have IR scanners, but they seem a bit cumbersome for hunting infantry. ;)

[X] Disconnect them.
[X] Capture the enemy Commander and force the truth from him. He should not be far, perhaps panicking over his failure. Jarmond Kell can track him down easily.

Running around putting out fires favors the GLA by giving them initiative.

Grab the guy who knows how to unravel this

Not get surprised and shanked in the back?

Honestly, these are terrorists we're talking about. They could be pretending to be workers right now. :p
Pretty much, standard GLA tactics which are tremendously effective for harassment, when you're not tied to in-game systems(where people would find the 'truck' or 'ordinary car' highly suspect because they don't normally do that, whereas in reality they can mingle in the constant flow of legitimate traffic).

Event-Turn 3
News from the front! General Danko has dispatched a force of gunboats to lay siege to your port city! They are due to arrive in three weeks! (3 Turns)

[X] Disconnect them.
Need: 45
1d100: 56
Result: Success!

The connectors are thick and very well reinforced. Someone clearly wanted this powerplant to continue supplying whatever it was connected to with electricity. The liberal use of explosives severs that connection, if a bit messily.

Jarmond Kell tracks down the enemy Commander and kills his two bodyguards before capturing the man himself. He is still kicking and spitting even as the interrogators pull on newly washed white coats.

His kicking and spitting now included screams.

Half an hour later, the commander spills what he knows; which is still frustratingly little.

General Danko had ordered him to take his forces to recapture the supply base and to ensure the palace was still intact, but did not give him any other information other than emphasizing the importance of the palace.

An intense search of the Palace HQ reveals false covers for nine large shafts arrayed around the Palace grounds. What is clear is that whatever was being supplied power and what is so important to Danko, may be down those shafts.

Choose one:

[] Start lobbing explosives and rockets down; best to just make sure whatever is down there is set on fire and blown to bits.

[] Send a regiment of soldiers (Choose a specific Infantry Regiment) to recon in force. Whatever it is down there, it is important to the GLA. So it is important to you too!

[] Write-in.

-[X] Special Forces

If it IS a Scud Storm like we suspect, throwing explosives down would be spectacular.

We have multiple special forces - we have the Sons of Anatolia and we have the NotSpetsnaz.

Which do you guys mean?

Personally, I would recommend the NotSpetsnaz, because they're Combat Engineers as well as being awesome Special Forces dudes.

The russian special operation group is very quick on their feet with this chance to show off more of their specialty. Rappelling down the dark shafts, the NotSpetnaz maintain constant radio contact with the command center. For the first five minutes, it appears to be nothing.

Then there was quite a lot of swearing in russian on the channel.

"What is it?" The Revolutionary demands.

"Nearly got hit by a Scud." Replies one of the NotSpetnaz. There is a horrified silence as the man continues speaking. "Looks like a Scud Storm down here; they've got seven missiles ready for launch. Whats more... they appear to be... loading them by hand?"

"Makes sense," allows Mahmud on another channel. "We cut power to their launching system and cranes; meaning they have to do it the hard way. How many personnel can you make out?"

There is a moment of silence.

"At least a hundred or more. This place is very well developed, General. I can make out several barracks and at least one war factory. Lots of tunnels with an attached rail system; I can see... old steam trains stationed here and there." A slight rustle as the combat engineer shifted. "Lights are out, they've only got torches here, so we're well hidden. What are your orders?"

Choose one:

[] Have the NotSpetnaz stay put for now. Send down another Regiment of Soldiers (Regular or SpecOps) to reinforce the combat engineers.

[] Have the NotSpetnaz begin sabotaging the Scud Storm. Delay the missile launch. (1d100 Roll)

[] Have your forces secure the Emergency Tunnel Entrances and begin reconnaissance in force (Choose forces).

[] Write-in.

Well... this answers how we can both be right.
