Bone and Blood (Naruto Quest)

On another note, went back and re-read things to get a rough count on the amount of ninja Tsubaki's killed/defeated.

So far I've got, in chronological order:
1 Kumo Jounin
Unspecified Number of Stone Priests (Presumable whatever amount makes up a full squad)
1 Samurai serving the Late Bird Daimyo
1 Uchiha Jounin and 3 Uchiha Chuunin
1 Kumo Jounin
1 Taki Jounin
3 Konoha Chuunin
2 Suna ANBU
2 Suna Chuunin
1 Konoha Jounin
1 Elite Kiri Jounin
6 Missing nin Genin
Yet more unspecified numbers of monks
3 Konoha Chuunin
3 Iwa Chuunin
5 Iwa Jounin
6 Konoha Chuunin
2 Konoha ANBU

I would also add that Tsubaki being annoyed at all the people she finds cute/attractive/pretty that she has to fight remains exceedingly amusing.

[X] You've had enough of the pair of them treating you like this. There was no command structure specified for this mission and the way they've conducted themselves isn't becoming of a formal commander, much less an informal one. They can stay behind in the Land of Meadows for a few hours before they leave for Ame and you leave for your next mission.

Also, may as well change my vote. See where this goes.

Guys! This option:

Is a bad idea.

If we make them stay here for a few hours, they can go faster than the group that contains several hurt people, and thus have their revenge on the kunoichis there.

[X] Well, if he's offering you his hand, maybe he doesn't need it anymore? At least the fingers on it. Torturing(?) prisoners who clearly don't have intel to give, along with the way him and his buddy have treated the rest of the shinobi here (one could easily argue they're responsible for at least some of the casualties on your side), demonstrate more than clearly enough that these two aren't fit to represent Amegakure as jounin. This isn't how jounin of Amegakure act, is it?

shoot a crab strike into her throat

The heck is a crab strike? Honestly curious since you're using it as a descriptor and I can't form a mental image of the move.

They don't make good ANBU, and there's only one of those per generation (Inoichi, Shikaku, and Choza are two years older than Tsubaki). Now that would be an interesting matchup, I don't think Tsubaki could pull it off without properly using her kekkei genkai.

Only one, or do they only ensure there is one? And what's your view on generation for this? Ninja generations can be measured in different ways after all.

[X] It's a breach of protocol. The prisoners will all go together, along with the ninja who are due back in Ame. Give the bandaged jounin, and one of your chunin, a message to Youme-sensei, asking her to contact you if the group doesn't arrive in Ame. If anything happens, it will be an interesting foray into the internal politics of the village, at least.

Internal village politics sounds like something Tsubaki needs to know if she want to be more than just follower.

What a nice hand you got there, would be a shame if something were to happen to it.

Also a shame the other ANBU got away, means Konoha now knows that kotsu works for Ame.

There are more than one way to engage with politics, and being a walking nuke that a faction can build around is also perfectly viable.

I wanted to call it something else to make it more clear but I couldn't find another name for it. It's a strike, usually aimed at the throat, where the hand is held palm up and the fingers and thumb are curled in once. It's really effective at grabbing the front of the neck or just disrupting breathing.

Maybe others know some of the combos but we're told and shown in the series that the title passes down from parents to children, so for once "generation" here is meant in the most literal sense. The three clan heirs to the Yamanaka, Nara, and Akimichi Clans are placed under one team with a Sarutobi as their teacher, becoming the next Ino-Shika-Cho.

Also a shame the other ANBU got away, means Konoha now knows that kotsu works for Ame.
Yeah let's hope that's all he knows.

🤔 what? You mean like being a jinchuuriki? I've heard shikotsumyaku users compared to the Tailed Beasts. Hmm, that's an interesting thought, and a direction I hadn't really considered. Very interesting.

In fairness, that particular cat was going to come out of the bag eventually. Tsubaki was never going to stay away from the frontlines, and Ame was never going to be able to stay out of the frontlines of the war either.

TBH, it's a small miracle Tsubaki has remained as unknown as she has for this long, given her track record. Not sure of the standards, but I imagine an A-rank ninja who regularly ganks other jounin, particularly of the Great Villages, is going to wind up on the radar pretty quick.

Luckily, only Iwa should have an idea that Tsubaki uses the Shikotsumyaku, although Kiri will cotton on pretty quick. Gonna be interesting to see how that goes down with dear old dad seeing his daughter in the Bingo Book.

EDIT: On an unrelated note, what kind of summon would fit Tsubaki if she ever got one? Cat, or maybe Tiger seems kinda appropriate. Tsubaki has that kind of casual psychopathy than many a feline possesses.

Konoha might actually get an inkling here. If you read the update you'll notice Tsubaki used a subtle manifestation of Shikotsumyaku to shred the Nara ANBU's hand. I'm assuming that was our shiny new Sleight of Hand at work.. but this is still a Nara we're talking about, it's likely they noticed something was off with the way the wound was dealt.

I don't think they'll draw any direct conclusions just from that obviously, but the seed is planted so to speak.

And as for the summon question... Well. Keeping in mind Tsubaki's appearance ('Small and slim for her age thanks to a side effect of her kekkei genkai, Tsubaki has an unassuming and nonthreatening appearance.') and her general demeanour, there is one creature that embodies her white fluffiness, her tininess and her killiness.

Who knows, but i remember another ninja thinking tsubaki was using ninja wire to do the whole "cutting with bare hands" thing. So hopefully theres a lot more options that seems more viable to konoha other than a runaway shikomatsuyu user living in Ame.
They also know she has strong tanking ability, and is willing to take swords through her hands/arms. There are alternative explanations for these things, but I don't imagine that the list of potential explanations is that long.

Though to be fair, unless someone like Tsunade regenerates his hand, the Nara AMBU is going to be crippled due to not being able to do hand seals the same way.
