Assassins in the GFFA (Star Wars/Assassin's Creed, CK2)

Tython, Part 2

So Ashoka and Kal agree to take turns watching the Younglings, and you two found four basic combat droids to stand overwatch around the children's camp. They're three to a tent, so a droid camping around 1 tent works...until Kal and Ashoka leave, and take it upon themselves to bash these 'Gnarls' in the head, repeatedly, with lightsabers (somewhat like the above video).

Ashoka wants to do an extensive search of the Jedi Academy. Kal, however, has other plans, one of which includes raiding Belia Darzu's Fortress, who was a Shapeshifter-turned-Sith Lord. 'Oh, yeah, this will go off without a hitch without any trouble whatsoever,' he says to himself while finding a somehow-still-functional Swoop bike, which he somehow knows how to drive instinctively. While slicing-and-dicing anything through his path, he reaches the entrance to the Fortress. 'Wow, this is just like a single-player raid on World Of Warcraft.' Desmond says.

Anyhow, Kal stumbles upon an item that just called to him. Through a few hours of investigation, he figured out it's functions almost completely.

  • It's a light battle armor, made of tough material, yet light enough not to limit the mobility of the user.
  • It's compound seems to be made of mostly durasteel, but it has a material that you've read about called Cortosis near the shoulders, neck, wrists and limbs. From what you have read, it offers protection against Lightsabers.
  • You don't even know the mechanics behind it, but it has some sort of personal cloaking device activated by pressing a simple button on the right forearm of the wearer.
(You have two options. You can either keep this armor and wear it for the following stat bonuses: +5 to Martial, +2 to Lore, +5 to Intrigue, or save this to reverse-engineer should you stumble upon a workbench of some sort for a one-time +5 Stewardship bonus and use it for multiple blueprint ideas later. Should you choose the latter, you'll have access to anything you can imagine using this tech through write-ins.)

A few minutes later..Kal notice something coming his way. He feels it in the Force..that empty fortress? Nope, not so much anymore. You have multiple, large creatures of unknown origin closing on your position. You might want to fight, or..book it out of here. Although there are proximity mines that you can plant by the door....

What do you do?
[x] Mentally prepare yourself to fight off these..things..whatever they are. You have both your Sith and Assassin training to draw upon, and you could use the proximity mines wherever you wish (Write-in here for where you plant the mines, you're in a 10 meter by 10 meter room)
[x] You have no idea what's coming. You might just want to hightail it out of these using Force Climb and Leap, then use Speed to get as much distance as you can from what's coming. Grab the mines for yourself.
[x] Write-in.

Either way, the armor is light enough to carry if you strap it to your back, which you have (straps), by the way.

One of us against a lot of them, with no Ahsoka around? Sounds like a bail out time to me. Might be worth looking for the nearby starship the Justice Crusader, though. It should be around here, because Valenthyne Farfalla and co came here to fight Darth Bane (a defeat for team Jedi).

I'm inclined to grab it to reverse engineer later, but I don't see a problem in wearing it now and then taking it off to engineer from later?

You could try your idea above, but you only have a few minutes to put it on. You can do a write-in for it if you want.

[x] Throw the armor on quickly and then find an exit. Climbing, leaping, running...making an escape like this is all in a day's work for an Assassin. Once safe, it might be good to take it off and try to figure out how it works. Once reunited with Ahsoka, inquire if she's found any workbenches you might study this armor on.

Not that I don't think we could fight our way out, but isn't rule, like, three of being an Assassin to not fight more people than you need to?

I have a few things to do today for work, but I'll be available in the afternoon. If we can get a few more votes that'd be great but I can do without.

I need two rolls. Stewardship and Intrigue, I'll let you party people choose which one is which.

Let's go intrigue.

EDIT: Well, 70+ isn't bad.
Barondoctor threw 1 100-faced dice. Total: 48
48 48

Then I'll take Stewardship.

Edit:Had some trouble figuring this out, but it was 3 unfortunately.
Mayrun threw 2 100-faced dice. Reason: Stewardship Total: 48
3 3 45 45

Stewardship to not break the thing!

EDIT: 100+ again. What can I say, the dice like me.

Mission 2: Tython, Part 3
Tython, Part 3

Kal
successfully gets out Darzu's Fortress without any issue, but it turns out that Belia must've imported a creature from some other creature for..cruel purposes. Said creature . 'It's good that I escaped,' Kal muses to himself, 'that...thing could've torn me to shreds if I didn't run.'

..and so Kal got onto his Swoop Bike and got the kark away. He spends the rest of the day and spends the next few weeks 'training' with Darth Traya
, who has given him more general knowledge about the Force, conventional weapons, Lightsaber training, and just the galaxy in general. (GM Note: That creature was imported from another planet in the GFFA. Also, this reflects the stat bonus, already added as per the vote for stats at the start of the Tython Mission).

After a few weeks of training with Kreia, you begin to break down the Dark Armor from Beliza Darzu. You find three potentially useful that Kal has for blueprints, after finding a Workbench and using studytime to learn the basics of breaking down materials. The items include:

  • Basic Armor for Organic beings, Cyborgs OR Droids. Further study can unlock more advanced Armor designs.
  • A Cloaking Device. Any user (Organic/Cyborg/Droid) can use this for a +3 Intrigue and +2 Martial bonus. Further study can increase stats. These are fairly expensive to create.
  • Kal saved the small bits of Cortosis put into the Armor. (This will require more Stewardship to unlock. You'll have to be at 50 Stewardship to unlock access to it.)
Kal spends a few weeks after that just searching the general area of the Jedi Temple on Tython..and then he sees a ship of a design you can't make out using the Force. It lands at an unknown distance, but it's fairly close to the Temple (GM Note: I played the Old Republic A LOT 5-6 years ago, and it's a Temple, not an Academy on Tython, I'll go back and fix that, that was a DUH moment for me) and Kal feels the need to investigate. Ashoka is in contact via Comlink, and asked him, 'Did you sense that? I think we should go and invstigate whatever or whoever just landed, Kal'.

What do you do?

[x] Bring Ashoka with Kal to investigate this apparent ship. You have no idea who or what is on/in that ship. It/him/her could be a friendly, a neutral, or a hostile. Once you party people get a better feeling of who or what this is, you will have another vote for further action.
[x] Suggest to Ashoka that she should watch over the Younglings, and Kal should do the recon. Kal will use all of his skills, including Force Powers and his Assassin Skills, to stay hidden, or should he feel the need, sneak and attack should this being or droid be hostile. Once you party people get a better feeling of who or what this is, you will have another vote for further action.
[x] Avoid the whole situation, period. Hunker down somewhere in the Temple with the Younglings and bring the Secrurity Droids with you.
[x] Write-in.

I'll update tomorrow. I will say this: This might be your first chance to get an Assassin Apprentice of your own. This might be a chance to jack this character's ship, and any information, credits, or whatever you could think of. This being/droid might be hostile as well. If hostile, this character won't be so powerful that you and Ashoka can't defeat together.

I need two rolls, Lore and Intrigue, and the max DC will be 180 between both. Should you choose to investigate, this will have DCs of 80/110/140/180.

Remember part of the Assassin's Creed: Nothing is True, and Everything is Permitted.

I'll let you people vote, and I'll be available again in the afternoon tomorrow for Tython, Part 4.

Also, @ComradeDoge could you either spoiler or url link the videos you're including for music? I appreciate getting mood music but it can be a pain if I'm just trying to read the update.

Still getting used to Xenforo, but I can do that, sorry buddy.

EDIT: 62+29=91. not bad.

Uhh, yeah..21 over the top DC? That's somewhat of a gamebreaker there. After Tython (Mustafar and Tython are considered starting missions for getting used to the structure of this quest, which will be different. Rolls will get harder, starting next mission.

With a 201 on a 180 DC, here are your choices. I will reveal who I wrote down, since you got such a high roll.

(Copy-paste, I'll handle it after, I'm on my cell right now)

Choose the character:

Mace Windu-Light
Revan-Neutral
Darth Bane-Dark

(GM Note: The Apple Of Eden was a complete fluke, somehow getting to this galaxy. The Force itself is pretty pissed..So it's giving you a choice of 3 powerful Force Users that were killed, at least a thousand years ago, that the Force reanimates to help you.)

You'll also need a diplomacy check of 35 to be able to influence said character to your cause. They will not attack you if you fail this check. They'll just go away. If sucessful, they will act as your living Mentor in this quest.

[X] Mace Windu-Light

Mace's style is already "tread the line between light and dark" and is clearly at least something of a pragmatist. Also, his lightsaber is the one that says "Bad-Ass Mother******" on it, so there's that.
