Evil Shall Triumph Somehow! - Evil Minion Quest [CK2-Style Quest]

Week 1 - Rumour Mill
Week 1 - Rumour Mill

Mysterious New Villain Group
: A new group of villains known as the RX Group have been spotted operating in Ryuei City. Witnesses have reported several confrontation between Braveman and this new group. While the hero has successfully forced this new group of villains to retreat every battle, it appears that each battle has been taking their toll on the hero. Just what kind of villains are able to fight against an A Class hero to the point of exhaustion each battle and yet continue to attack with renewed ferocity? Civilians have been advised to stay clear of the RX Group as it is obvious that such villains are a danger to the peace.

Suspicious Activity from the Covenant: The Covenant of Helivon, a benevolent self-funded hero group has been acting strangely for the last several weeks. Security around their headquarters have noticeably been strengthened, all field members seems to be searching for something or someone and Requests for aid to the group have so far been ignored. A spokesperson for the Covenant have made the claim that the Covenant is currently observing a religious holiday that will last for an indefinite amount of time and hopes that everyone will be patient while the group's attention are focused inward. The Covenant Spokesperson did not answer any more questions and return to their headquarters.

Prism Ranger Breakup:A fight between Prism Red and Prism Blue occurred in front of F-City Town Hall with devastating results. The battle resulted in much property damage which only increased when the two heroes brought in their mechas into the fray. After the battle, Prism Blue, Black and Green were reported to have declared their resignation from the Prism Rangers before leaving the area. According to witnesses, the cause of the fight was due to Prism Blue's accusation of Red hogging all the spotlight. The Prism Rangers have long been a symbol and a testament to the power of unity and camaraderie against the forces of evil. However, this schism in the group has the public concerned on whether the forces of Justice are truly as united as they appear to be.

Unprecedented Rise in Crime: Over in Megatropolis, a rise in criminal activity has put the Hero League on High Alert. As heroes scramble to ensure the safety and well being of civilians threatened by these dastardly criminals, one can only imagine what the cause behind the sudden rise in criminal numbers. Evidence and interviews with heroes and various victims suggests that the Villain League is behind the rise in crime in Megatropolis. Their motives remain unknown during this time but the Hero League remains vigilante.

Discharge Dead. EDF Illegal Experimentations?: Local Hero Discharge was killed when he suddenly went berserk during a takedown of a eat-and-run criminal and underwent a metamorphosis into a hulking monster. Discharge caught a large number of injuries and property damage before he was taken down and executed by the Earth Defense Force. Many believe that the cause behind the hero's transformation into a monster is related to his sudden increase in power. Word on the street is that Discharge was approached by one of the EDF researchers to participate in an experiment to increase a hero's ability.

Weekly Event Roll: 55

Sunlight streams down into the room through the hole in the roof of your base as you along with the other lackeys end up in a coughing fit from all the dust that's been kicked up. As the dust settles however, you find yourself looking at what could only be described as a knight in shining armour - that has wings of light coming out from its back.

"WHERE IS HE?!" The Angelic knight demands, waving its flaming sword around menacingly. "WHERE IS THE ONE WHO DEFLOWERED MY DAUGHTER!"

Doing your best to not freak out, you calmly inform the angelic being that you have absolutely no idea what it is talking about. A bizarre pulse of energy ripples forth from the angel and goes through everyone before the divine being slumps it shoulder.

"IT APPEARS THAT YOU SPEAK THE TRUTH, HUMAN! I APOLOGISE FOR DAMAGING YOUR HOME. I SHALL COMPENSATE YOU ALL FOR THE TROUBLE I HAVE CAUSED," says the angel, still speaking in that loud tone of theirs. With a flap of its wings, a golden statuette of itself appears on the table. "HERE, I BELIEVE THAT THIS SHOULD SUFFICE, MORTALS! NOW I MUST GO AND CONTINUE MY SEARCH FOR THE SCOUNDREL THAT HAD STOLEN MY DAUGHTER'S INNOCENCE!"

Without saying anything else, the angel shoots upwards, making another hole in the ceiling. For about several seconds, you and the other Lackeys stare at the newly created hole in silence as you mull over what just happened.

"Is he gone yet?" A metal barrel, one that was lined with lead on the inside, opens up and Lackey B pops their head out.

You and the other Lackeys stare balefully at your fellow Lackey when you all notice the softly glowing kiss marks all over the Lackey's face. Before any of you can say anything, Miss Secretary walks into the room. Her eyes takes in the mess and settles upon the indirect cause of it all.

"Man, that was scary. I was sure that I was a goner for sure. Who knew lead could block divine detection methods!" Lackey B cheerfully chuckled before freezing when Miss Secretary suddenly grabbed him by the head. "...Crap."

With a look of disgust, Miss Secretary revealed why she was second-in-command.

*BOOOOM*

You'd heard about it but seeing it in action was something else all together. The power to make anything that you were in contact with explode was truly a terrifying one. Releasing her hold, Miss Secretary dropped the blackened and unconscious minion back into the barrel before closing it tight.

"Go put this in the trash." Miss Secretary ordered before heading back to her room. "If he wakes up, he has to clean up the mess."

Fortunately, Lackey B manages to regain consciousness right before you and the others threw him into the trash compactor.

...

Gained Gold Angel Statuette.

Lackey B Gains wrath of Angel Knight Boriel.

Lackey B Gains wrath of Angel Knight Boriel.
Lackey D: "... You poor, son of a bitch. Wait, how the hell did you screwed some Angel Knights daughter?"

Lackey B: ???

Lackey D: "*Sigh*, look, I can't promise much, but you may want to lay low, consider your options... Or consider living in lead armour in future..."

Lackey B: "What other options?!?"

Lackey D: "Dunno, man up and try to be the best man, by heaven standards... But it'd involve trying to be lightly good, and that's terrible!"

...

Gained Gold Angel Statuette.

Lackey B Gains wrath of Angel Knight Boriel.
I only have one question! how good looking or what does his daughter look like?

Well looks like I can revise my estimate of Lackey B's intelligence down. Not that it was very high anyway.

Week 2
Week 2

Welp, that was a thing. You'd never expect that Boriel, a member of the hero group Eye Of Heaven, would come crashing your group's headquarters your first week here. It was even more surprising to find out that Lackey B had somehow seduced Boriel's daughter. You just had a hard time picturing it. A random minion from a no-name evil organisation and the beautiful and kind daughter of Boriel together. The mind just boggles at the thought.

Well at any rate, things are going smoothly for you so far despite some missteps. You're greatly disappointed by the fact that your superior, Miss Black General was most likely the main cause of the lack of progress in RX group's plans. If she wasn't so goddamn obsessed with Braveman, you believe that RX Group would be able to to get things done. Evil plans don't always have to revolve around taking out the hero. Luckily for you, this week, Miss General doesn't have a mission to assign you meaning you won't have to be dragged along the female executive's futile quest to seduce Braveman.

Your pro-active attitude has earned you Miss Secretary's approval resulting in a bonus in mission funds. 30 Mission Funds Gained.

Miss Scientist also hands you some extra cash as well as thanks for being a test subject for her experimental potions. 100 Mission Fund gained.

With a bit more cash than usual available, all you need to worry about is your ghostly stalker and Miss General deciding to grab you and the Lackeys for some hare-brained scheme to get closer to Braveman.

180 Mission Funds Available

Now time to get cracking and do evil!

Martial: With Miss General leaving you and the guys to your own devices, you are free to take charge and get RX Group combat forces into fighting shape. Problem is that there isn't much of a combat force in the first place but you won't let that deter you from building up RX Group's fighting strength one way or another. (Choose 1)

[ ] Recruitment Drive: RX Group is woefully lacking in manpower! Three minions, excluding yourself, do not even make a squad of mooks for a hero to fight! There need to be more people in RX Group and it needed them yesterday. With the footage you took last week, you should be able to make a decent recruitment video. Cost: 10. Chance of Success: 50%. Reward: More Manpower. 90+ New Hero Unit.

[ ] Group Combat Training: You've quickly learnt that besides the bosses, the other minions are also terrible at fighting. You barely get a pass thanks to your powers. You feel that you must rectify this problem immediately. You're sure that you can get a martial arts manual or something similar somewhere. Cost: 20. Chance of Success: 50%. Reward: You and your fellow Lackeys are better in a fight.

[ ] Braveman Ambush: Regardless of whether or not Braveman's defeat will help RX Group's goals, the Boss has given out an order to get rid of him. Despite his powers and combat prowess, your abilities will make a sneak attack successful. The sooner he's out of the picture, the sooner Miss Black General can get on with her life and do her duty as a proper evil female executive of an evil organisation. Cost: 0. Chance of Success: 20%. Reward: Braveman out of commission for at least a week. Boss approval.

Stewardship
: Miss Secretary is in charge of the Group's finances though she's unable to keep the Boss who has access to them from spending what he can get away with. You know nothing about her background save that she knows Boss from before the formation of RX group. That and she either make or have enough money from somewhere to give everyone a weekly allowance outside RX Group funds. (Choose 1)

[ ] Boss Overwatch: Something must be done to break the cycle of RX Group's perpetual poverty. One of the main causes is none other than the Boss himself. Miss Secretary has ordered you to put everything you have at stake here and find a way to keep him from needlessly wasting money on his hobbies! Cost: 10. Chance of Success: 50%. Reward: 20 Income.

[ ] A Better Base: Your home looks kinda lackluster for what's meant to be an evil organisation's main headquarters. It isn't really big either. Most of the space is used by Miss Scientist and her workshop. There are living areas with the necessary utilities for you Lackeys and there's the meeting room but that's about all. Time for some renovating! Cost 100: Chance of Success: 80%. Reward: Bigger Base. Unlock more Options. Increased Morale.

[ ] A Statuette of Gold is still Gold: Boriel, the Angel Knight from the Eyes of Heaven, has gifted your group with a golden statuette of himself. Who knows how valuable such a thing is? Surely he won't take offence if you went to a pawnshop and see what you can get for it, right? Cost: 0. Chance of Success: 50. Reward: One-Time 1000 Mission Fund Increase.

Diplomacy
: Thanks to the information network that Miss Secretary set up, you now have knowledge of several different villain groups that are operating in the same area as RX Group - all of them with either more men or resources than RX Group. That means that RX Group will need to be careful not to step on the wrong toes here and that means playing nice. (Choose 1)

[ ] Organised Criminals: Criminals can be found in any city in the world, you just need to know where to look. The Bellino Syndicate is one of the biggest crime families in the world and a small branch exists in Ryuei City. While the Ryuei branch mostly deals in money laundering and small-time stuff, they're still part of the Bellino Syndicate, so it would be wise to make contact with them. Cost: 20. Chance of Success: 70%. Reward: Information on the Bellino Syndicate.

[ ] Femme Fatales: The Rogue Roses is an all-female villain group currently operating in Ryuei City. Lead by the ever-elegant Rose Princess, they seek to take over the world to create a world of elegance, whatever that means. While their numbers are only a bit higher than your own group due to their strict membership requirements, they have both resources and connections. These ladies are not to be messed with lightly. Best put on your best suit when RX Group makes contact with them. Cost: 10. Chance of Success: 60%. Reward: Information on the Rogue Roses.

[ ] Life-Gambling Gangsters: The Mahjong Gang is a large villain group that has control of all major illegal gambling joints as well as the City's Biggest Casino. They are most known for hosting various illegal "games" for their patrons and clients to gamble on, such as illegal cage fights with heroes or challenging heroes to disarm a bomb in time. Those that have angered the Mahjong Gang in the past found themselves in a gamble for their very lives. You don't want RX Group to accidentally tick off these guys so you should risk a visit to make sure of that. Cost: 0. Chance of Success: 50%. Reward: Information on the Mahjong Gang.

Intrigue
: The Information Network that you helped set up is already doing wonders. With more information, you have more power over those who don't have information. You're also certain that no-one except you, Miss Secretary and maybe the Boss, knows about these shady dealings.

[ ] It's a Donation, not a Bribe: Perhaps it would be a good idea to make a few 'donations' to local bureaucrats to ensure that once you doing more...questionable stuff topside you won't have to deal with any surprise inspections from the cops...at least for as long as they remember the 'donations'. Cost: 50. Chance of Success: 70%. Reward: Less likely for Law Enforcement to threaten you and the RX Group.

[ ] Widening the Crack in the Prism: Prism Blue is currently in Ryuei City, last seen at the bar heavily drinking. From his drunken ramblings, Prism Blue actually regrets getting into a fight with Red and if things continue on its course, Blue will likely return to the Prism Rangers with Black and Green in tow. As a villain, you can't let that happen. With the right words and actions, you might be able to break this group of rangers for good. Cost: 30. Chance of Success: 60%. Reward: Prism Rangers disbanded until new replacements are found. Increase Reputation with other villains.

[ ] Spying on the Hero: You're an evil minion from an evil organisation. Braveman's the local hero in charge of the area. You can't trust whatever information that Miss Black General gives you since she's extremely biased if you recall her actions as of late. You need to find out more about Braveman yourself. Cost: 5. Chance of Success: 40%. Reward: Information on Braveman's Private Life.

Learning
: Miss Scientist is just as new to RX Group as much as you but she's already fitting in as though she's been a member for years. As the second most competent person after Miss Secretary, you have high hopes for her. Though you have heard from the other Lackeys that her experiments are...interesting, to say the least. (Choose 1)

[ ] An Evil Group's First Monster: Every evil organisation needs monsters to pit against the hero and RX is going to get their first one, sort of, maybe, not really. Miss Scientist plans on testing the procedure of creating a monster by creating a cat with human strength and intelligence. That honestly doesn't sound even remotely dangerous at all so maybe you convince Miss Scientist to aim for something stronger. Cost: 0. Chance of Success 50%. Reward: RX Group gets a new Hero unit.

[ ] Experimental Weapon Testing: Lackeys need to be well-equipped if they want even a snowball's chance in hell of taking down a hero. Unfortunately, RX Group lacks the funds to do that so you'll have to make due with Miss Scientist's experimental weapons. Here's hoping nothing has a self-destruct function or is capable of exploding. Like always, Miss Scientist will pay you and the Lackeys for your hard work. Cost: 0. Chance of Success: 50%. Reward: You and Lackeys get fancy new weaponry. Money.

[ ] Improved Bodysuits: Your current outfits are nothing more than just cosplay. While durable enough of everyday wear and tear, the last fight with Braveman proves that they won't last long in a superpowered conflict. Fortunately, Miss Scientist has been doing her own research and just needs someone to complete what she's begun according to her notes. Cost: 10. Chance of Success: 50%. Reward: Stronger, more durable bodysuits. Increased defence.

Ideology
: You are still fairly new to RX Group so maybe you should put some time into getting to know the other members better. Maybe they can help you figure out this evil gig and if nothing else, you can build up camaraderie with them. Having been around for more than a week now, you've figured out when your bosses are free to have at least a bit of a chat. (Choose 1)

[ ] The Female Executive: Miss Black General is your direct superior and she looks the part. However, her behaviour, particularly when Braveman is involved says otherwise. Just what is her deal? If she likes Heroes so much why the hell is she a member of an evil organisation!? Cost: 0. Chance of Success: 60% Reward: Increased relationship with Miss Black General. Increased Ideology.

[ ] The Grunts: You've been getting along with the Lackeys. Sure you're not particularly close to them but you can at least recognise each of them on sight now. Still, you want to know what's their story is. And how did B get it on with an angel's daughter? You need to know. Cost: 5. Chance of Success: 100%. Reward: Increased Relations with fellow Lackeys.

[ ] The Mad Scientist: Miss Scientist is in charge of developing and creating new toys for the RX Group to play with as well as making Monsters to terrorise the city. However, you know little about the woman behind the swirly glasses. With her expertise, she could have easily found a bigger, more famous group to join. Why is she here with RX Group instead? Cost: 0. Chance of Success: 70% Reward: Increased relationship with Miss Scientist. Increased Learning.

[ ] The Dragon: She's the most feared member within all of RX Group. Miss Secretary has an iron grip on the Group's finances and an explosive grip for the Boss when he gets out of line. She's been by the side of the Boss since forever according to the Lackeys. Just who is Miss Secretary? Cost: 5. Chance of Success: 80%. Increased relationship with Miss Secretary. Chance of Increased Stewardship and Intrigue.

[ ] The Boss: He is the enigmatic leader of RX Group. His true face is hidden behind a white mask. His strength of his power is undeniable. He plans to take over the world to expose its problems to society but what is he really after? What is his exact relationship with Miss Secretary? He is your boss so you should build up your relationship with him. It would surely do you good in the future. Cost: 20. Chance of Success:60%. Increased relationship with the Boss. Chance of Increased Ideology, Martial and Diplomacy.

Personal: You've got some free time to spare after you've done your chores and assigned duties. (Choose 1)

[ ] Superpower Training - Location Switch: Your ability to switch the locations of two objects is limited in that the objects need to be of similar mass in order for you to make the switch. But is that really the case? Is it possible to bend those rules? You need to find out. Cost: 0. Chance of Success: 60%. Reward: More flexible use of Location Switch.

[ ] Superpower Training - Domain Control: You have what is essentially limited telekinesis, in the form of a small mobile bubble containing the field of influence. After much effort in the past, you can shape it into a lance of sorts to rip stone apart. You know however that you can do so much more. You just need to get stronger. Cost: 0. Chance of Success: Chance of Success: 60%. Reward: Stronger Domain Control.

[ ] Physical Conditioning: You're weak. You know that without your powers, you're actually weaker than the other minions. You need to get stronger, faster and build up your stamina. A strong body is essential to surviving as a villain, in your opinion at least. Cost: 10. Chance of Success: 90%. Reward: Better Stamina. Progress towards Trait. ???

[ ] Evil Musing: You don't really get what evil is all about. You know it's about doing bad things but you also know that it is way more than just that. RX Group isn't helping much in working that out so you're on your own there. Cost: 0. Chance of Success: 35% Reward: Better Understanding of Evil. Increased Ideology.

[ ] Knowledge is Power: Learning is something that never ends and you've been feeling the need to touch up on your knowledge base. Miss Scientist has some old textbooks for you to study from as well as some reference books as well. This should help you learn what to do if the doomsday device is malfunctioning. Cost: 0. Chance of Success: 100% Reward: Increased Learning. Possible Increase of Stewardship.

I think we could find better ways to use that than a pawnshop who can't even afford half the full value...especially with a 50% fail chance. People notice when you unload large amounts of distinctive gold
