To elaborate a bit on that the main problems with petting zoos are caused (or at the very least exacerbated) by management cutting corners and valuing zoo-goer experience over the mental and physical health of the animals and as a former Zoo Veterinarian we are the perfect person to either actually run an effective petting zoo that places dinosaurs under the least amount of stress or to notice this is unacceptably stressful towards our dinosaurs and pull the plug.

If someone was suggesting this a month before opening day I wouldn't even be considering it because we wouldn't have times to work out the kinks but just like with the raptors I think we have enough time to test things out and then make an honest assessment as to what needs to be done.

As to where we'll be getting the Petting Zoo testers seeing as Jurassic Park is still top secret. might I suggest that the children of the Natives and other Staff Members be brought in for some stress testing of the idea TempestK?

edit: Provided of course that we vote yes on the Petting Zoo in the first place.

[X][Tiny Zoo]It may not be a good idea... While there are dozens of zoos that offer similar attractions, you're not sure if having a "petting zoo" would be a good idea. A lot of the smaller therapods probably would get overstressed by the constant attention, and frankly you need to think of the health of the animals.

Expecting to backfire...
If we had picked the Tech Startup or the Investment Firm as our origin story I would agree, but we picked the Veternary background... And we have the QM's confirmation that if the petting zoo ends up being too stressful for the animals or dangerous for the kids he will pull the plus of the whole project immediately.

....What happens if it's a tie again?.
At that point I roll a die, 1-50 the zoo wins, 51-100 it doesn't.
@TempestK can we later set up things like egg and baby cameras to record it and show/sell it to tourists? I imagine that would be very popular.
Already being done and stored for future use. Elliot is very much aware of the pull infant animals have.
So I'm guessing that our payment from Russia was in fossils and samples only they would have right?
I thought there was some discussion on getting some amber mining rights or something like that. The Baltic coast has 95% of the worlds amber and Kaliningrad, Russia is right in the middle of it.
It was a combination of fossils, amber deposit locations, and contact with a handful of Russian scientists that were good fits for the park.

That's actually a very good idea, because using the handlers would be counterproductive as would just using adults because... well kids are little chaos gremlins.
I don't think Porto Rican is correct here, should be Costa Rican @TempestK unless I am terribly mistaken.
Wow, I was more tired than I thought when I was finishing the update. Fixing.

Well, let's hope that when the USSR collapses in a couple of years we can poach the rest of the scientists we couldn't get this time (since apparently the list Wu and Sorkin gave us had like 20 names or so)

"A couple"? My dude, it's 1990. Shit's going down now. Most of the other scientists on the list had either retired or "retired" because they pissed someone off.

If only we were the Tech Startup or Investment Firm, we could exploit the fall of the USSR for lots of profit. Actually, who is handling our newest acquisitions from our deal with Russia? Are the business people at InGen going to be able to handle that or are we going to need to expand a bit more?

Since John Hammond had already created the ties and teams needed to retrieve amber samples, it's just a matter of negotiating access. A minor expansion on their duties already.
