@Snowfire @Forgothrax If you buy a battlecruiser with political capital then you can requisition the Sword of Democracy, which is just finishing refit to Imperial standard over Ilam after the navy bought it, if you want to buy one with cash then it would take longer, there are less than twenty battlecruisers in the empire.

The NASP just declared their action against Imhotep a rogue attack. They're probably getting screamed at by NASP sector command for inflaming things further, and I'd very much doubt that either side is happy with the other. Hitting them hard where they live again will force their capital ships to be brought back home, net us a fuckton more Wealth and PC which we need in prep for the next strategic turn when the real NASP reinforcements show up, and push even more cracks between the richest system on our section of the border and the NASP. If we can shatter that link, we can look into properly conquering the system once we have enough weight of metal.
I WARNED you all about the stupidity of the action of diplomacy but nope, 'slavery is bad, we shouldn't do it!' Well if we had, we would have been back LONG before those battleships arrived!
Also there is no way in HELL we can beat those BC's unless the commander of those Heavy cruisers has at least 17 tactics and they are all Dragon class cruisers.

I agree another raid is asking to fall into a trap and escalate this into a full scale war. Better to go after the 'rouge' fleet of 3 Capital Ships and support ships. If we raid, there is a very good chance we can be pincer ed in a trap between ships and the orbital defense. Better to just go steal the Capital Ships, since we have a much better chance of success at that and it won't drag in a response, hopefully.
Um...does that mean that we could theoretically get her now? I know you said next strategic turn, but if she's right there. Could we get her refit crash accelerated?
well then so long as the commander has 17 tactics we should be able to beat them head on.
110PC for a ship that could let us break Chuang Mu wide open and probably win back as much PC as we'll spend on her.
Sometimes you gotta pay money to make money. This is one of those times.
I'm against a committed raid against Chuang Mu; the system defenses are explicitly there to tarpit us until reinforcements show up. We don't know how well-handled their defenses will be (although we can guess) and if they decide to come back to play, we might end up trapped between two fires.

except if we attack it will take them WEEKS get get back there, weeks during which we can slaughter their defenses which they will never get back forcing the BC's to stay there letting us reclaim IMHOtep.I'm against a committed raid against Chuang Mu; the system defenses are explicitly there to tarpit us until reinforcements show up. Bahahahahaha no. Our PC can probably 1v1 a battleship with his cruiser. 3 battleships? No. Not happening. Especially because they have support ships.

With our strategy we could lure one ship into an ambush or draw them into a poor position. The planet is, excuse my language, completely fucked. They have assets on the ground, so they have to cover the planet. We could easily draw a couple of ships away at a time while threatening the planet so they have to keep some in reserve.
