Humanity is at current 2017 levels of technology. What this means in war:
They have a massive stockpile of nuclear weapons ranging from theatre size to city+ destroyers, some deployable from stealthed platforms and subs. A very decent threat.
They have many ways to make something explode spectacularly. An annoying threat.
Certain countries have prototype Railguns installed on their Naval units. This will probably hurt.
Aircraft and other large units have access to basic Laser technology. This is a very possible annoyance.
Infonet security is tough but nowhere near unbreakable for you, and you very well might just laugh at it depending on rolls or specialties. A hindrance.
Bioweapons research is being done and could be a longer-term threat. Not a concern at the moment with your radically different biologies.
Nanotech is in its infancy and would be a long-term threat. Not a concern because it is so, relatively speaking, undeveloped.
There are some tough materials out there but nothing too concerning at the start.

This quest is inspired by Foamy's "Tactics: Lets Conquer an Alien Planet" on SB and Avalanche's "Battle-Action-Harem-Highschool Side Character Quest (No SV. You are the waifu.)" and Snowfire's excellent quest "The Practice War" as well as more broadly by dozens of battles highschool/space opera/sci-fi anime like "Infinite Stratos", "Sidonia no Kishi" and "Heavy Object".
I welcome all criticism as this is my first quest of any kind. Being constructive will help but I do know that it is physically, or near enough to it, impossible to please everyone. I hope you all enjoy this anyway.

Invasion Option: You are a species able to phase into the human dimension from your home dimension for limited periods of time. And you want to use Humans as breeding stock. Secondarily their knowledge and how their brains process it is interesting to some.
Attacking on Multiple Fronts: By attacking targets inside of the same 48.28 km/30 mile radius you can force the Humans to respond to you and gain bonuses to your objectives.

For my limited sanity we will be using a turn based system and d100 dice.
You will have a limited number of actions you can do each turn and certain actions can be locked in for several turns. The number of actions you can take will increase as you research ways to cross over more easily.

The Screaming Minds: The Human mind is a fascinating piece of information and biology and they still haven't puzzled out how it works. To you it is so painfully obvious and far behind you it's sad. And trying to show them the truth makes the silly things break.
A massive bonus to infiltration offense and defense. Memetic hazards, Manchurian agents to put Manchuria to shame, infiltrators that can't be detected. -Stealth units: Very small flying creatures meant to observe targets.
Infiltrator Units
First Infiltrators: Man sized Bio-Constructs with approximately eight limbs and a very loosely cephalopod shape. Designed to infiltrate targets and preform assassinations using a cloak and various disguise methods. Human soldiers are only a threat if they use explosives and mechanized units or artillery.
Replicas: What it says on the tin. Artificial copies of Humans that you abduct. Not perfect at this current time because of limited information but still potentially useful. As durable as whoever they replace.
Military Units
War Drones: Think Sentinels from the Matrix. Armed with high power lasers and Plasma Burst bombs. Can survive most man portable explosives with light damage.
Pastors: Your standard soldiers, a conical body with four limbs for movement arranged around the base and three around a bulge in the middle. Larger than a man in mass they are armed with kinetic rail-weapons, plasma explosives and unit commanders have Hostile Clipping melee weapons. Appear as distorted squids. Can withstand man portable explosives and rockets while maintaining mission capability, requires artillery or powerful explosives to effectively handle.
Hierophants: Small scale artillery. Uses space-warping Hostile Clipping blasts to shred the target with dimensional shear. A three legged walker the size of a pickup. Can level a multi story building with one blast. Can survive artillery with ease. Mobile cover for your Pastors and War Drones. Fast as a Formula One race-car. Your Pastors can hitch an unarmored ride on the outside.
Palanquin: Your fighter/bomber air superiority organism. An orb slightly bigger around then a F-22 Raptor with conical protrusions arranged around the top, middle and bottom like a sea urchin. Tentacles emerge like a skirt from the middle below the spines. Main armament is coherent radiation blasts emitted from the spines. Extremely maneuverable and durable enough to survive very high powered explosives and artillery unscathed. Can only be brought over in limited numbers at any one time. Capable of rapid undersea travel. Limited to short 'orbital hops'.
Ark: Your fast transport organism. Four connected cylinders about the length of a semi trailer with bottoms that open up to hot drop units. Armed with a short range "Get the Hell Away From Me" dimensional shock wave that can induce mass Hostile Clipping in anything nearby that is not one of you. Currently locked. Research better means of transit in order to bring them over. Durable enough to survive extremely high powered explosives unscathed.
Archdukes: Large scale artillery. Uses your mastery of Trans-dimensional Physics to cheat in absurdly destructive exotic particle beams and a wide range dimensional shock wave that can induce mass Hostile Clipping in a huge radius. Can crack mountains ala Ramiel. Currently locked. Research better means of transit in order to bring them over.
Floating spindles with a spiraling series of seven tentacles emerging from their tops and wrapping around them. One of your greater weapons this organism/device would require dozens of railgun shots to damage, low range nukes can potentially score a mission kill if not diverted.

An idea of the entire race with Hermaeus Mora's outlook on Life, the Universe and Everything sound both damn hilarious and genuine terrifying. It also help that I'm a huge fan of Lovecraftian stories and find cephalopods fascinatingly scary

The Trans-Dimensional Physics thingy seems like it would synergise with our species bonus, you know super dimensional physics.
Psychology to fuck around with the man-animal more than we normally would and cause them to fuck up in fear, or to make them dolice and tamable.
Bio-Tech - better healing and autopsy, why wouldn't you want it.
Data Informatics & Computing - Storing data, make good databases and good computers, maybe create some automated units to remove some of the risk from ourselves.
