The best way to avoid getting blown up is to not attempt to disarm the bomb, but to simply not be around when it goes up?Mizuki_Stone said:
This. She isn't the mentally broken monster from canon, and she's been more forthcoming than the ninjas were.MacroDaemon said:

That might work for us (we may already be past the point of no return if her weaponizer follows certain philosophies). Doesn't help anyone else she's set on, or the cost to her herself.Forgothrax said:The best way to avoid getting blown up is to not attempt to disarm the bomb, but to simply not be around when it goes up?
A quick wikihunt doesn't reveal enough to me about her backstory for me to say, but from the sounds of this, it appears that her "weaponizer" is someone that holds authority over her and sees her regularly. How, exactly, are we supposed to interfere with someone with this sort of power over her while we are thousands of miles away in the States? We can't really come physically to her aid, either; we're not any more capable than she is, potentially less powerful even, and just getting to her location would require that we talk an adult into accompanying us, as well as producing money out of thin air. The power of friendship is a wonderful thing, but I very much doubt that with a few days we can turn her into an ally, and I sincerely doubt we'll be able to make much impact from far away.Mizuki_Stone said:That might work for us (we may already be past the point of no return if her weaponizer follows certain philosophies). I suppose it basically comes down to 'Is it worth the effort to try and make this girl an ally, when she is likely to default to enemy otherwise?'
I think yes. She's not perfect. She doesn't get along with everyone, and she's not the strongest of our potential allies, but she doesn't seem to be a bad person, and doesn't really deserve that kind of fate.
Call me a dogooding smuck if you want, but I'd rather try and take the option that's results benefit more then just ourselves.
Maybe this would be an incentive to focus on teleport for Briar's mail quest? Assuming we got teleport to work we could plausibly be able to respond if there's trouble...or just hang out with our international friends more. Also last post for me in this thread. See you guys next in Thread 4!Forgothrax said:A quick wikihunt doesn't reveal enough to me about her backstory for me to say, but from the sounds of this, it appears that her "weaponizer" is someone that holds authority over her and sees her regularly. And I'll thank you not to put words in my mouth, Mizuki.
Judge has said before that our magic is loosely based on D&D magic. We're not going to be casting teleport anytime soon if that's the case... and even if we could cast teleport, it has a range measured in hundreds of miles, not thousands.megrisvernin said:Maybe this would be an incentive to focus on teleport for Briar's mail quest?
