[x] Aura sight and enhanced vision, as before. Will use up about 5% of your ki, leaving you with 45% of your maximum ki.
[x] Yes, on...
- [x] ...the fight between the last ninja-boy and the androgynous pyrokinetic demon.
These are the semifinals of the World Tournament, showcasing the skills of four individuals who can, with a certain degree of accuracy, be described as the best fighters between the ages of ten and fourteen in the world. They are leading figures among the group of people that you, as a martial artist, should be aiming to overcome - examples to first emulate, and then surpass, on your road to perfection as a fighter. As such, you're determined not to miss a moment of their bouts.
Of course, there's still that succubus to worry about. Keeping in mind what Briar has just told you about the race of female demons, you order your thoughts into the basic patterns of mental defense that you've developed as part of your magical education. You've never had cause to use this particular skill before, so you're not entirely certain how well it will work, but you have confidence that...
...why is the first fight over?
Oh, Goddesses
damn it.
"Briar," you sigh, dropping your ki sight once again as you facepalm, "how many minutes did I just lose?"
"About two," the fairy replies. "Sword-guy went kinda nuts when the she-devil used the come-hither stare on him; guess she must have tripped some kind of traumatic memory." Your companion pats you on the cheek. "Mental protections not holding up so well?"
"Not as such, no." You did manage to avoid getting a headache this time, but you're not sure that losing two whole minutes of awareness is that much better an outcome. If that were to happen in a fight... well, no two ways about it. You'd be dead.
Gained Mental Defense F
Frustrated, you fix your attention on the ring for the second semifinal match, and this time muster the magic to cast a divination spell before following up with your aura sight and ki-enhanced vision. The result is a fantastical technicolor view of what proves to be a remarkably good match, in pretty much every sense of the word. The last of the ninja competitors clearly still has ki to burn after his Body Flicker blitz from the previous round, and it's just as obvious that he was paying attention to this particular opponent's previous matches, because he casts a spell - or is that a ninpo? - that causes arcane-looking Oriental symbols to imprint themselves upon his aura, after which he rushes the demon and engages it in hand-to-hand. The demon is amused right up until the point where the ninja-boy punches it in the face three times in rapid succession, showing no sign whatsoever that he's feeling any pain from contact with the pyrokinetic's searing aura. That is enough to provoke a moment of rage from the demon, who breaks out a form of hand-to-hand and manages to open up the range long enough to throw a couple of fireballs at the ninja - to no effect whatsoever.
As soon as it's clear that fire magic will no longer suffice, the demon presses its unarmed attack, quickly showing itself to be strong and skilled enough to match the human. Even then, the demon doesn't completely abandon its magic; instead of trying to attack with raw flame, it focuses its magic, compressing it into little spheres that explode with quite a bit of force for their size. Whatever damage potential these lose because of the ninja's fire resistant defensive technique, the kinetic energy involved proves enough to hurt the human, forcing him to dodge at first, and then back off as the number of blasting spheres grows. He retaliates with another ninja technique that causes a big explosion using elemental wind, setting off a bunch of the demon's bomblets. That exchange leaves both combatants battered, breathing hard, and - from the readings you're getting off their auras - more than a little drained of ki and mana. They both forego the mystical side of things and try to pummel each other senseless.
Your divination spell gives out by the three minute mark, but that's okay, because the fight ends about twenty seconds before then, when the ninja uses what looks like a Body Flicker-enhanced bodycheck at point blank range, transferring a remarkable amount of momentum to the demon, who goes flying over the edge of the ring.

As with your division, the Announcer asks the two finalists if they're willing to fight immediately, or would prefer to take a break, and once again, the answer from both parties is "Yes," although the way the ninja-boy glances sidelong at the young succubus and her confident, playful smirk are definitely unique to the two of them.
How will you observe the last match of the Under Fourteens Division Finals?
[ ] Once again, full ki enhancement. You're going to kick that succubus allure, no matter what it takes! Oh, and this will use up 2.5% of your ki, bringing you down to about 43% of your maximum, give or take.
[ ] Partial enhancement only. This will use up 1.25% of your ki, bringing you down to about 44% of your maximum.
- [ ] Use your Ki Sight. It'll be the most instructive.
- [ ] Use your Ki Enhanced vision. Maybe if you don't have Ki Sight leaving a hole in your mental defenses, you won't be mesmerized as easily.
[ ] Resort to normal vision.
[ ] You're tired of getting brain-jacked by this girl. Close your eyes and listen to the Announcer's commentary. That way, you'll at least get SOMETHING out of the match, besides a warm, fuzzy void.

So..A Rank Ki Control is 100% discount?
UberJJK said:
Given that A rank is stuff like Ganon, Glory and Old Ones I'm going to say yes. Or at the very least a 95-99% reduction.
OOC: Ki Control is a 2.5% discount per +, or 10% per full rank. A-rank would be a 50% discount, which IIRC is equivalent to the upgrade Link can get for his Magic Meter in LttP. True, it's not 90%, but it's still basically doubling your ki.
