Okay, some quick Qs.

Earlier, Epoch mentioned things like Strangers. Why didn't Blake question it?

I'm gonna hold off on voting for now since I'm bad at tactics that aren't 'swarm'.
He assumed it was another term for Others.

And that's fair, though I'm probably going to wait for a few more votes before I call it.

Any more questions? I'll answer if they're reasonable.

I'm curious about what allowed them to summon Blake, but I won't pry too hard about it.

Wormverse, the Adepts were simply theming themselves as Practitioners, but powers in Worm were very clearly NOT magic.

I hope to reveal at least some of this before the first Interlude. Assuming you don't die by then.
Suffice to say, the Maggie Holt series is a thing in this universe.

Oh woops, apparently I didn't notice this updated Saturday!

Epoch had made sure to have some materials on hand – some branches and a pair of dead saplings – but nowhere near enough to create a body from scratch. You have to smash apart several pieces of furniture, dismember a frozen chicken, and raid the garage for tools, just to have enough mass to cludge something together.

I really want to know precisely how much he knows of our story. I know it'll come with time but it seems spotty, if he didn't realize we ended up as a bird.

She turns to the statue. All is still. Then-

"Three gifts," she declares, "Three gifts from three friends in three parts, to fill the void."

Interesting power. I can't tell if these Adepts are capes or practitioners, which I think is the point?

Also uh, guys? Why are we sneaking? Weaver's there, what are the odds she doesn't have bugs watching in that basement? Just seems riskier.

[X] Run interference. Epoch can get his Circle out, if you provide the opportunity. Stay with Tarfeather and Ariel. Distract the opposition and prevent them from stopping Epoch.

-[X] Get some water and oil, mix them, and use sympathetic magic to link their separation to the separation of cold and warm air. Accelerate that natural process for the surrounding area.
--[X] Ask Ariel or Tarfeather if this would be useful and guide them through it if they agree and need it.

Well, okay, if I must. :p

I think instead of the string thing (which will act on them, and therefore be harder), I'd rather affect the air and make it much more turbulent or otherwise disturb their ability to move.

What I've written in should, if Blake has enough to power it for the local area, create a storm and fog, and seriously mess with insects.

-[X] Find anyone that is flying and use three strings, one to symbolize their connection to the ground, one for the air, one for gravity. Then cut the strings.
I've already pointed out that the string thing wouldn't do anything on its own. You'd have to get one of the Adepts to do it.

Glad to see you back, though.

Amazing i had forgotten how your writing style is almost like Pact, i truly felt like i was reading about Blake, now i want Blake to show once more how much of a determinator he is!

Sorry about not voting, for some reason my alert did not warn me that the quest updated.

Edit: Evan continues being adorable, but i think Green eyes needs to be more feral, and trying to eat everything, or maybe by spending time with Blake and Evan she absorved some common sense. The Adepts are interesting, and i want to see how you are going to use them, also heh Weaver is on the loose, Blake vs Taylor who is more ruthless and determined ? This would be a good contest.

[X] Take a careful approach. Sneak in with all available stealth. You should be able to get them out before the other side even realizes what's going on.

-[X] Go in through the roof.

How exactly is going through the roof sneaking?

Here we go. Let me clear up some confusion. Two write-ins have been created:
-[X] Find anyone that is flying and use three strings, one to symbolize their connection to the ground, one for the air, one for gravity. Then cut the strings.
-[X] Get some water and oil, mix them, and use sympathetic magic to link their separation to the separation of cold and warm air. Accelerate that natural process for the surrounding area.
Both are good, but not good in this situation. That's partially my fault.
The thing is, when Blake used sympathetic magic in the past, he powered it with spirits in the form of birds. (He also had the advantage of being able to find perfect copies of everything lying around, but that's not relevant here.)
The problem is, at the moment? You are one of those birds. Not sure I made that clear enough.
You don't have the power to do that sort of thing. And the versatility that would normally let you bypass or delay the cost is gone, along with your status as a practitioner. You can't promise payment later, or offer an equal exchange. You can't do rituals, at all, really.
But the Adepts can. Kinda.
So these two votes might work, but you'll have to have either Tarfeather or Ariel perform the actual actions.

-[X] Tarfeather says that there's a basement. Try there.

Pact quest.

There's a pact quest

THERE'S A PACT QUEST THERE'S A PACT QUEST PACT QUEST PACT QUEST PACT QUEST

*does a happy ritual dance*

Ok, since I know I had more voters in the past - and because I've only gotten 4 votes - I am forced to take drastic measures.

Already voted.

In medium term plans, Blake is pretty diminished at this point and we should try to come up with ways to fix that. He probably knows enough shamanism to walk the Adepts through creating a diagram to collect tiny little sub-sentient spirits for him to chow down on. As Evan is a container for Evan and a bunch of spirits in the shape of a bird Blake can become the same.

Sorry about that then.
This, though, is exactly the right line of thinking.

[X] Blitzkrieg. Find Epoch's Circle and get them out of there. The fighting will be fierce, but it should save you some effort in the long run.
-[X] Bring Evan with you.

So can we feed Blake birds?

Not spirits in the form of birds. Just outright birds.

Failing that, can we make sure to get a trophy from every enemy we personally defeat? A lock of hair should be fine, and failing that, a small amount of blood.

I picked hair because that was Blake's first trophy iirc.

We put the hair in a hollow wooden tube crafted for us then add it to our body.
