"Who Wants To Be The Demon King"

[x] E. Johannasburg
[x] C. Dwarven Outpost 2273
[x] B. Honey-Hills

The Greed of Man sounds like a fantastic place to pick as the starting ground for our campaign. The flexibility is good, as others have pointed out, but the Mythos, the way they talk about the Hero-Emperor being *a capitalist* and how this place *specifically* reveres that idea is a really fertile ground to Demon It Down wicked barnyard style both as a Vampire, and as a Sheepgirl with Big Moneybags (of wool)

Dwarves, because i like Dwarf Fortress, and picking dwarves sounds like we're starting a fight with a Dwarf Fortress, which is just the best. Also because one of 2 things is going to happen with Team Goblin. A) they die super fast and the Dwarf faction does not seen any significant attack from Demons this month. B) Team Goblin actually has Super Underdog powers and pulls shit off. (c. one of the others picks the dwarves sssssshhh go away)
if A) We're insuring that all the races Get Demon Attention.
If B) We could totally poach their infamy by saying "that's right! my UNDERLING" and everyone would buy it. There are no possible downsides.

Honey-Hills easyness, means it's the perfect place to do something More Complicated. Pull something off Truly Dastardly in a place where we've got silly Hobbits Small Folk to mess up! Als Our Honor as a Vampire Sheep Girl means it would be A Big Deal to pull something in the Land where Vampires Retire.

One other thing I like about Johannasburg is that, with as cutthroat as the place has been described, there's probably going to be a lot of shallow graves that we'll be able to utilize.

Both metaphorical and literal.

Glik, the goblin champion, was... completely indstinguishable from any other non-evolved goblin to you. While both their (you could not tell a gender) parents were evolved-types, it seemed that none of their children were. So the little green gremlin, smaller than a half folk, moved forward with no grace, but also no hesitation, "Glik kill Dwarf-home. Glik eat dwarf meat!" He didn't wait for any description, "Gogogo. Now!" The little being was shunted through space by a portal of demonic energy, as Agatha dragged a hand down her face.
Gettem lil NB, fuckin GET EM. Very important thought. Does The Creature mean, "Im gonna physically kill and eat all the dwarves", or do they mean "I'm going to kill the dwarf home by destroying their food supply"

"I have many questions." The young man who spoke up seemed almost refined, for your understanding of orcs. You could see the deep intelligence in his eyes, despite his people's reputation as stupid grunts. "What are the military standings of their kingdoms. What advantageous terrain exists around these villages? What dangers lurk inside or out of them? What other hostilities may target them. What is the political situation within the village? What families feud with one another?" The questioned rolled off his tongue one by one, and he just kept asking.

Agatha, for her part, answered each and every one of them. One by one. And as nearly an hour passed, Mol slowly stopped asking about the villages one by one. Until he finally said, "I shall face my trial in the human village of Everpyre. Their family feuds and bandit problems create many potential enroutes for me. Thank you." A bow of the head, as a portal swallowed him up as well.
Him asking all those questions is probably why we have such a clear in universe description of the threats and advantages of all the remaining choices.

"I have no questions." The gnoll woman was as large as an orc - and taller than an Oni, from where she sat upon her World-Devouring-Snake Monster Companion. The beast was easily twenty feet long, and it held her aloft upon its head with no problem, "Saa-rii-luu and I have agreed, we shall feast upon the homes of the Beastmen in the Village of Aeth. Let them see what a true Beast is." You recognized that place - you'd been there, briefly, on journeys into the Grand Forest. That could have given you an advantage, had it not been chosen.
hngh, big woman.....

Lucente looked annoyed in that moment - and it didn't take a genius to tell that the elf-appearing Maou had intended to take the sole elf village from amongst what was offered.

"Well!" The little tinny voice of the tiny Fairy came from Nightshade, the fairy contestant, "Some might think, oh no, the poor fairy. Both Beast villages taken, and elf home too~" It teased as it flittered around, unlike everyone else who at most stepped forward, "But no! Why would I want to harm the few good Men in the world? No, send me to Gnomtinoplis! Or as close as you can!" A little tittering laugh, "I will free their spirit works, and show true havoc to those who do not respect the natural world!"

You were next up, as the portal swallowed up Nightshade and sent them to the land of the Gnomes. A dangerous choice to be certain.
My favorite. I love them. Evil little Poison Twink. Full of Evil Life.

Pros: Greed blinds
Disharmonious
Bandit troubles.
Outsiders welcome.

Cons: Self sufficient residents
High chance of Heroes
No trustworthiness
The Bandit troubles of Johannasburg sounds like a great way to tip toe around the "High chance of Heroes" problem. After all, if we establish ourselves as some bandit queen or cutthroat merchant what are the odds Heroes will go after us instead of the "real" monsters and demons attacking other cities?

With how chaotic things sounded, we could even take over the city and, as long as the money kept flowing, I doubt people would think "demonic vampire-sheep" instead of another monopoly from a power-hungry merchant.

The issue with johannesburg is that we are supposed to be as evil as possible rn and its already a lawless evil place. We take it over and what changed for the residents? new management same as the last. It has the issue of a lot of unkowns and that a lot of the things that are normally super evil in the other towns are just commonplace here. Destroying or transforming the town in a meaningful way is much harder there than elsewhere.

That difficulty is precisely why it makes a good starting ground. I think there is something powerful about using the evil *of men* against them. About preying upon the greed and business-cultism Johannesburg seems to already have.

Yeah. I think maintaining, further corrupting, and controlling the town is in our interest. Perhaps gain control of some bandit groups, incite the rest into attacking caravans, and then use the Town's defenses to crush our competitors in brutal fashion.
We then infiltrate the mechanisms of power and use the bandits to harass those not under our protection. When we're done with the bandits, take those who're competent and kill the rest.

i create this image with the dark power of my blood and my own evil hands.
Behold wicked Lydia Hardhoof, most fearsome of sheep! Queen of the Dark Arts!
This image has got me wondering, how Sheep is Lydia? The only animal parts described so far, at least that I can tell, is the wool growing around her neck and on her arms and legs. Does she have horns? Does she have traditional hooves, her fathers hoof fingers, or otherwise human limbs?

How sheep do you want her to be? Hoof hands will come with typical Hoof hand penalties, I warn.

I've been personally envisioning her with large wool tufts along her joints and neck, as well as large wool hair instead of human hair, and a small air of horns. But my visualization doesn't super matter.

If you do choose to go for full sheep head utilizing your Beautiful trait might be harder to utilize. Hoof hands means having to use your wool magic to do basic grip stuff.
