Wait, so, where the hell did Gamora came from? Did I miss an episode?

Anyway, it's a pretty good ending for a pretty good show. I don't dislike any of these episodes, and it ends on a high note. I don't think it'll replace Loki as my current favorite MCU show, but I'd easily give this a rec.

She comes from an episode that had to be canceled/delayed due to Covid

Considering how grim and serious canon Thor is now, I'd LOVE to see 'Party Thor' turn up in the comics. Ha.

Yeah, came here to say that - they had a goofier episode planned around Tony traveling to Sakaar and teaming up with Gamora, but it was pushed to Season 2.

I'm honestly looking forward to it, very much was into the Watcher pulling a Lo Pan and telling Tony to shut the fuck up.

Wouldn't targeting the Mind Stone have made more sense, if it goes then Ultron loses his main power source

I assume if the Marvel website itself is promoting this thing, Season 2 is finally close to airing?

Meet Kahhori, The Newest Super Hero in Marvel Studios’ ‘What If…?’

'What If…?' asks what would happen if the Tesseract fell to Earth and landed in the sovereign Haudenosaunee Confederacy before the colonization of America.
Written by Ryan Little, the episode was created in close collaboration with members of the Mohawk Nation like historian Doug George and Mohawk language expert Cecelia King to ensure cultural authenticity. The episode takes place in the Mohawk language and is informed by the history of the Akwesasne region in what is now upstate New York.

What does it say about me that I don't trust Disney in the slightest to actually do justice to that kind of historical what if?

Well, if one wants to be technical, it's on Disney+ that things like Prey and Reservation Dogs came out, so the situation is tentatively not as dire as it could be.

Regardless, that is a bold premise, that will be a lot of people's introduction to the Haudenosunee Confederacy being a thing, in the same way people were introduced to Partition through Ms. Marvel

Seems to come from a misleading headline about Disney Plus and Hulu merging but it seems only on an infrastructure level. Same app for both services or something.
Yes, sorry, I should have been more clear. Disney+ is being merged because the studios are finally realizing that each streaming service takes a huge amount of money to set up, advertise, and create new content for. That means each streaming service's subscription has to be higher than people are willing to pay. End result is people unsubscribing outright or swapping subscriptions so they are only making money for the company a few months a year.

From what I can tell, they're not merging the subscriptions, just the infrastructure. One app, two subscriptions to access everything.

The season 2 opening episode was a real mixed bag of an episode some things were good, but seen some saying the episode felt rushed, I have to agree in regards to a few things that happened in the episode, still better then some of the really bad episodes in What If Season 1. Let's hope the rest of season 2 is better, with fewer character deaths.

Season 1 had too many character deaths, felt like a bad season of GoT, just killing off characters for the hell of it.

That was always something of a staple of the "What If" comics and the big event Marvel AUs like Age of Apocalypse or Marvel Zombies.

Writers weren't generally allowed to do it in the mainline books so they did it when they had the chance in the 'will be reset in a couple months' continuities.
