We Will Never Die: A Halo Spartan Quest (AU)

In The Land of Nature 2
In The Land of Nature 2

You walked to the west, following the logic that the short-range camera would have to be monitored close by.

Hunch: 1D100 => 99

Staying low in the brush and with your pistol at the ready, as you looked at the cabin overlooking the area. You reasoned that was where the people monitoring the cameras were. And you could get intelligence out of them… Hopefully.

If they were friends or instructors, you would try not to kill them.

If they were foe… well, you would not lose any sleep at night, especially if they were holding your team or your fellow spartans hostage or were threatening to hurt them.

As you get closer, you heard voices coming from an open window, along with radio chatter.

"Bravo 2, this Bravo Actual, you've got five coming south towards your position, they are unarmed but have already evaded three patrols, over."

"This is Bravo 2, we copy, over." The voice stated over the radio.

"Bravo 9, this is Bravo Actual, we lost contact with Bravo 10 and sector 10 camera feed, check it out and see if it's just malfunctioning equipment."

"Copy, Bravo Actual, We'll check it out."

This place seemed to be an outpost or command center. That meant they must have had weapons as well, and may have intel on your team and fellow spartans.

You made your way through the brush until you were right below the tower, and started to climb the ladder with one hand, your pistol at the ready.

Stealth:1D100 => 86

You reached the cabin and you were sure that you were not spotted. Your saw... three soldiers, lazing around in the area, giving orders.

Your pistol only had one magazine, and you had some berries…

Your options were limited, but you had the element of surprise.

What do you do:
[]Shot up the place.: Your pretty sure you can hit all the targets within the building without killing them.
[]Play the Child: You think you can act like a scared child, Although you're pretty sure they might know them.
[]Knock on the door and start barking orders: No one will expect you to just take command.
[]Sneak Around: You are going to need to find your Team and fellow Spartans.

AN: Enjoy.

Hard Times, Harder Men.

(Phillipe POV)

You looked at the adress of the Bar and looked at the Man who brought you here. "Are your sure he's here?"

The Other man shrugged. "How should I know...I only know that he's here part of the time."

You honestly hoped that you didn't make this trip for nothing. Three months was a long time to get from one end of space to another.

You looked at him and handed him a small amount of credits. "Forget you ever saw me."

He shrugged at you. "Beat it, or I'll report you."

"I'm a dead man already...what does it matter if you report me." You noted as you slamed the door in his face and walked into the bar.

The Bar itself was one of those old timey joints that you see in old films, the kind you see in those bars in seedy Noir films. It was lived, you could tell by the smell.

The Cigar smoke came from the Bartender a big portly looking fella who had no sence of cleanleness at the current moment. He seemed to be the kind of guy that people opened up too after a while.

You sat at the bar and sighed, "Double shot Whisky iced."

He grunted looking out and around. "Your not from around here? Ain't you."

"I'm looking for something, or rather someone." You replied honestly.

"Pleanty of people looking for people, your type ain't exactly new around here. Bounty hunter hmm." The Bartender said curtly.

"In a manner of speaking I'm looking for a Sentzke...Steffan Senszke." You replied as the bartender turned. "He's over in the back, Now try to be polite, he's a nut."

"I'll keep that in mind." You noted.

So you were in a bar with a man much like yourself, a bitter man who lost everything.

You yourself had lost everything, gained it back and lost it again all with in the span of a decade. First the Insurrection betrayed you...then your wife sold you out for favor's with her bosses in the Office of Navel Intelligence and took your Daughter away from you.

Maybe you should have taken the Philosipher Jordan Peterson's advice and lived without Woman in your life.

But no you were a traditionalist, and now it bit you in the ass.

You walked into Steffan's booth and sighed. "So you think "They" are watching you?"

He gave a huff. "Bartender let it slip he was one of them...are you the one they sent to silence me...I already tried whisleblowing, then tried doing my own investigating and then got their attention by telling an agent on planet that I knew what they did. Been under watch for months now."

That was rough...really that sounded like he had his whole life destroyed out of spite.

You smiled, he was the guy Remo mentioned. "I'm Phillipe Cranfeild, I lost my daughter about Nineteen months ago, except my daughter is currently in my house as a paraphalegic because of Bullet trauma."

"They didn't get your Daughter?" He said.

"No the Parapahlegic is the clone...I fought back like that guy on Harvest I read about a few weeks ago." You noted.

Steffan sighed. "So...I'm not alone."

You smiled. "Not alone in this man…"

The touching moment was ruined by a group of thugs entering, only they didn't look like thugs, more like PMC's the UNSC hired to do their dirty work. The Work that required people to be killed in ways that are ironic to say the least.

You knew exactly why they were here. "So Barkeep how long have your freinds been waiting to put a knife in this poor sod."

The Barkeep spat out the cigar and then sighed jumping over the bar with an ease that betrayed his frame's appearence. "So...the Wanderer of the Innsurection graces us with his presence."

You seemed insulted by that. "I'm only SEMI-Retired from the Innserection...Now fuck off you ONI rent a Cops."

They looked insulted as you turned to Steffan, "Hey wait out back...this won't take long."

---------------------------

(Steffan POV)

"Should I trust him...He seems too good to be true."

The Sounds of battle in the bar escalated.

"But he seems to know alot about Naomi's kidnappers."

Then you heard Gunshots and chairs being shattered.

"I should get going...no he's my only lead. Even if he's a terrorist."

Shouting continued to escalate asscraming became apparent.

"Oh for gods sake!!! For Naomi!!" You finaly went back inside to see Phil shoving a pool Q into a man's throat.

He looked at you in suprise. "Damnit I told you to wait outside."

You looked at him. "You some kind of soldier!! An Oni type."

He shrugged. "I was born to kill ONI. So...I take it we have a deal."

You didn't seem to have a choice.

"Sorry about the Mess...but they started it." He said.

AN: Here's what I think is going on at this point…

Also Shameless use of My Halo OC in a Magoose Quest.
