Intro: Back in Black Part II
"Titus Bohlman, in the flesh - or, rather, in the Thunder Armor," the business man says to the monster standing next to you. You have no idea what kind of accent he has, but it has one hell of a syntax, "I took the liberty of relieving you of your weapons. It is not as if they would have done you much good here. The Throneworld, Terra, is in your former master's control, for the time being... thanks to you. Quite a nasty piece of work you and your... friends managed over there; I am impressed. That's why I'm here, Mr. Bohlman. I have recommended your services to my... employers, and they have authorized me to offer you a job. They agree with me that you have limitless potential, as do a number of your comrades who will be joining you if you accept. You've proved yourself a decisive man so I don't expect you'll have any trouble deciding what to do. If you're interested, just step into the portal and I will take that as a yes," he gestures at a doorway on the side of the room, "Otherwise, well, I can offer you a battle you have no chance of winning... rather an anticlimax after what you've just survived. Time to choose... "

The Thunder Warrior (at least you think that's what he is) saves his judgement for himself, saying nothing. He accepts the offer, however, silently walking out the door into a light. The business man walks out after him, leaving the three of you alone.

"I do apologize for the double booking," the tall woman begins," but it couldn't be helped... Circumstances... demanded it. Bringing something back into existence is no easy task."

As she pauses to sip from a cup of sake, Malal speaks up.

"Yes my little dark one, we exist again. You and all my Doomed Ones. Once again all gods and demons shall know fear. It was no easy task, but with my power-"

"He elbowed his way to us while we were looking for the Thunder Warriors and practically begged us to save him and his cult," the woman interrupts. She smiles smugly and glances out the corner of her eyes at Malal.

Malal's face betrays nothing, looking as it always does, though you know he is plotting something. He's Malal: he's always plotting something. How else could he keep up with the likes of Tzeentch? He has to beat all the Four at their own game: a solid poker face is a requirement. In fact, you're not even sure if his face is capable of changing expressions.

"That is a gross over exaggeration, Slaneeshi whore. But yes, it is with their help that we exist again, which is why you'll be helping them in their quest to save sniveling mortals or whatever it is they do. For now, I have other matters to attend to."

You're not at all surprised that he's essentially leaving you with the bill. He fades away into the shadows, which is admittedly impressive considering the lack of shadows in the room. The woman laughs.

"Oh, enough about him. What of you? I know of your kind, but not much of you. Why would a young [MAN/LADY] such as yourself serve a god like Malal?"

PICK ONE PER CATEGORY

World:
[]Hive
[] Cemetery
[] Shrine
[] Imperial
[] Feral
[] Forge
[] Death
[] Void Born
[]Daemon World

Motivation:
[] You lived a normal life full of loving friends and family, free of any significant trauma by the standards of the universe you lived in. You were a normal, perfectly sane and adjusted individual, save one this one flaw: You couldn't ignore the suffering in the universe. No matter how you thought about it, you just couldn't rationalize all the death and misery. You just had to do something, anything to help your fellow man no matter how hopeless the situation was. Even if it meant embracing the darkness. You'll happily go through hell if it means others can know heaven.
[] It's a common story among those who serve the mad god. Maybe they made you a slave. Maybe they killed all you knew. Or maybe your regiment just lost to them in a fight. The details vary from person to person, but you all had one thing in common: Chaos took something from you. Retribution was the only logical choice, nevermind the inherent desire for revenge. You turned to Malal for justice, revenge, whatever. Mere semantics. Violence begets violence, and you are all too happy to play the game.
[] Justice? Revenge? Kindness? Who cares? You sure don't. There was no great injustice in your past to avenge. Or maybe there was. You don't care. Nothing you could have done would have made a difference. Whether you went left or right, nothing would have really changed. Anything you would have done would have been part of the plan of someone greater than you. So it all really doesn't matter. The game was rigged against you from the start, against everyone. So there was one one logical action: flip the board. You don't care how you do it, you just want to watch everything BURN.

Favored Victim Enemy:

[] Slaneesh
[] Tzeentch
[] Nurgle
[] Khorne
[] Undivided (i.e. you made no distinction on any level)

Alright, I'm back from vacation and mostly recovered from my illness, so the updates should be coming faster now. Gonna apologize for dragging the intro and character creation on for so long. Next update will be the last for the intro, and we'll get into the thick of things.

I didn't include this in the vote above (because we're not voting for it I'll just pick the best one), but please submit some suggestions for our character's name.

Flip the board. Flip the board. FLIP THE BOARD!
I mean, it's difficult to believe anything else when you're living in 40K. Besides, the idea of a pawn helping to flip the chessboard over is rather appealing.
