[X] The Forgotten- According to most people, the world is fine. The government says the crisis is contained, and the cult says there never was one to begin with. That this was all a blessing. But if you ask us, the world is not fine. Not in the least. They can stick their heads in the sand as much as they want, but we don't have such a luxury. We get constant reminders. Every breathe we take, we feel it growing. They like to pretend we don't exist, we're irrelevant, an unfortunate but ultimately trivial side effect of all that's happened. They can say whatever lies they want. But we will not be forgotten...
[X] Worshippers of Malal- Maybe you never knew love. Maybe you were beaten down by all the universe since the day you were born. Or maybe you couldn't tolerate all that was wrong with this twisted reality we live in, couldn't stand by and watch the suffering. Whether your heart was white with love or black with hate we all reached the same conclusion: when the game's rigged no matter what you do, flipping the board is the only sensible option. So we serve our mad god, the only one who'd take us, and light the galaxy aflame. With our hearts fullmalice, even the gods shall know fear...

When the verse itself is insane, the only sane people left are the insane.

[X] Kimerian Pirates- They thought they stomped us out. That that was the end of us. It sorta was. But we're still around. We always are, somehow. Lurking in the shadows, always out of sight. They try and find us, but we're always one step ahead. They just can't corner us, our sense are too keen. We dance around in the blackness, always out of sight, always out of reach, just looking for the next payday. You got a job for us? We're always in the market. Nothing's too big for us to take on. We have our ways. In starlight's absence, we follow paths unseen...

Just a heads up, while this is all done by vote (as quests tend to), I still reserve OP's fiat. Probably won't use it too much, mostly if I like a particular write-in or suggestion. Anyway, multiple votes coming up. Each one is counted separately, so if one of your choices doesn't look like it'll win, don't worry. It won't invalidate the rest.
________________________________
You are a very special kind of madman: a follower of Malice. You are a powerhouse like no other, a fearsome predator, a boogieman so terrifying demons and gods looked under their bed for you. Maybe you're the kind of person who would love nothing more then to watch the galaxy burn. Maybe what made you crazier then the rest was a steadfast belief in the inherent value of life and desire to make the universe a genuinely better place. Or maybe you were both, and so much more. But what you are now is nonexistent.
Bummer.
It's hard to describe not existing. It's not like being dead, but it's not like... well, anything else, really. There's a lengthy metaphorical discussion to be had there. One your ever increasing boredom makes you almost feel like engaging in. But before you hit that low, you feel a pull. It starts a slight tug but steadily grows until you find yourself yanked out of the Retconnian.
You find yourself in... a room. That's really the only way to describe it. Not because it's too warped and surreal to describe, far from it. There's just really not much to describe. Some tables, chairs, fairly nice but all in all pretty bland and utterly forgettable. What isn't forgettable are the figures there with you.
PICK TWO
[] A tall, thin woman in an elaborate kimono, lounging on some cushions in the corner of the room. Red eyes above a catlike smile gaze at you. She's very pale, almost as pale as you. Seeing as how you're literally white as chalk, that's saying something.
[] A relatively normal looking man in a business suit standing off to one side. Middle aged and carrying a brief case, nothing about him seems out of the ordinary. You are immediately suspicious of him.
[] An extremely tall and reedy man in a red bow tie. Bald, and with a strange look about him, firmly in the uncanny valley. He's sitting in a chair, but due to his great size it's an almost comical sight.
[] A man in a long black coat with a rather large backpack, flanked by a blue torch. His face is hidden beneath the hood of his coat and a purple scarf. "Welcome!" he greets you, letting out a hearty chuckle.
And in the center of the room, gazing in your direction, is this black dragon looking OH FUCK IT'S THE BOSS QUICK LOOK BUSY... Except he's not looking directly at you. Malal is gazing at someone standing right next to you, someone you suspect is in the same boat as you.
PICK ONE
[] You'd be a fool if you didn't recognize him, if not from the Imperial propaganda then from the time you spent together in the Retconnian. A massive man casually carrying a knife longer then most swords, it's still hard to believe he's technically a normal human being.
[] You don't know him, but you recognize his kind from the Retconnian. Short, bearded, and wearing a leather jacket, he doesn't cut an intimidating figure, but you know better. His kind may be tiny, but they are no less lethal because of it.
[] You don't recognize him at all. He seems vaguely like a Space Marine, but bigger and more brutal. He looks like a Space Marine ate another Space Marine. The power armor he wears appears rugged and powerful, but not nearly as advanced as standard Astartes Armor. If Astartes were normal humans, he'd be a Neanderthal.

First one because I have no clue who it is but shady characters interacting with chaos gods leads... interesting places. Second one because squats are badass, we can all agree on that yes?
EDIT: And the old guy, because helping out the mysterious old man is a good thing.

You're short a vote. Two picks from the shady character category. Take one more.
And while we're talking about the shady characters, I'm surprised no one is even attempting to figure out who they are. They're all characters from other series.
I'm out of town, so vote ain't closing for a for a few more days. Please, engage in as much discussion, make as many guesses, theories, analysis, as you all want. Would love to see a little more life in this thread.

I can't tell if this guy is the G man or an aged 47. I'm honestly super ok with both.

Well, looks like voting has pretty much died out. I'm gonna close it tonight so I can start plotting the next update, hopefully speed it along and get it out Monday.
If someone could get me a vote count by tomorrow morning, would be greatly appreciated.
