Warhammer Fantasy: Norsca United! (CK2)

What the hell is the point of this conversation?

Like, oooh, somebody as wrong about something like 2 weeks ago. Is that really worthy of all this discussion?

Cause, I can tell you something for a fact, I was wrong about a load of thing's two weeks ago. Hell, I bet I'm wrong about a load of things today.

Holiday
Holiday

AN: By the way, I also added on stuff about Grom to the Rumor Mill. Thanks, @Massgamer.

You collapse backwards, panting and exhausted. "That's it. I'm finished."

Ashi makes a disappointed sound before laying her body atop yours. "Already?"

"We started before dawn."

She glances at the window. "Sun's not up."

"That's because it just set."

Ashi blinks. "I may have lost track of time." She pauses. "Do you think they heard us?" She makes a vague gesture at the walls, indicating all the inhabitants of Mountain Crown.

"Probably. This is one the place you're not quiet."

Her lips curl into a small grin, and it feels so good to see her smiling again. "In that case, we might have just founded a new holiday. Today is now 'God-Sex Day.'"

You laugh, and, Ancestors, you can't remember the last time you had a real laugh. With Ashi healed, the whole world seems just a little brighter.

Ashi gives you a playful little slap. "Don't laugh at a goddess. It's sacrilegious."

"Worse than slapping a god?"

Your wife strikes a pose that manages to be quite regal, despite her complete lack of clothing. "I say, with all my divine wisdom, that it's much worse."

Chuckling, you pull her back down on top of you and wrap her in an embrace. "By all the gods, including us, it's good to have you back."

"It's good to be back." She replies with just a little less amusement in her voice than before. "Whatever's left of me."

You grip her a little tighter as you think on those words. You saved most of her soul from destruction, but most is not all. After you healed her and recovered from your own exhaustion, you were both busy 'celebrating.' You haven't yet investigated the extent of the damage. Tentatively, you ask, "Do you feel something missing? Any blank spots in your memory?"

"No. But would I notice if something were gone?" You feel her body tense atop yours. "Thorfin-" Her voice is barely a whisper. "Please tell me that we have five children."

You do, if you count your infant by Dagmar and the thirdborn who died. You and Ashi always count your thirdborn. "We do."

She lets out a long sigh of relief. "I feared I might have forgotten one. But I remember them. Brave Rana so far from home. Alya, who you know will be dead-set on becoming a demigod herself now. And little Astah... I hope she'll understand what happened."

She treated you almost like a stranger after your own ascension. You give Ashi a squeeze, "She's older now, and we'll explain things to her together. "

She hugs you back. "It may be a difficult conversation. But I suppose it will make every other difficult conversation seem easier." She chuckles. "When a mommy and daddy love each other very much and also Chaos is attacking, sometimes the mommy and daddy become demigods."

You smile, but you do it sadly. "Ashi, you know you don't have to put a brave face on for me."

"I'm not. I'm.." She looks off to one side, considering her words. "I'm not whole, but I'm not gone, and I'm not corrupted. If I am left with only half of myself, that's still more than I would have if I'd fallen to Khorne. I'm sure there will be pain once I truly know what I've lost, but what's left of my soul is my own, and I still have my loved ones." She nods. "That's enough." Her eyes meet yours. "More than enough."

You smile and hold her tight. You haven't forgotten your troubles: the cult, the Druchii war, the civil war brewing in the south, and a thousand other issues. But, right now, you're with your wife. Neither of you may be 'whole', but together you're complete.

Lewd. And sweet at the same time. We need to sink action slots into Family Bonding.

Also, Grom won! Suck it, Chaos Dwarfs! Now the only thing left to worry about that front is where Grom will head to next. He better turn north and east, cause after such a mighty victory the Old World won't have the strength to face him atm.

It's so nice to see Thorfin and Ashi like this and really warms the heart that she is not in danger anymore.

Also awesome that the Chaos Dwarfs are taken out as a power and if Grom doesn't take the remaining out himself they will starve to death instead.

Hope that Groms' next target is the Skaven or something.

@ancusohm weren't we going to see the results of Groms' Waaagh against the Chaos Dwarfs this rumors turn?
You were. Thanks for the reminder.

@ancusohm when will be able to get the Jotun Hold in central Norsca so that we can move our capital there? Does it require we purify the country first like we are doing right now?
You have to purify the place first. You could hypothetically move in before you do that, but, trust me, you wouldn't like the results.

Also what has the local Skaven Hellpit been up to? Is the clan still fighting other Skaven while trying to rebuild?
That's not common knowledge, so you'll be getting an update in the turn 19 post.

@ancusohm what has been the result of the High Elves claiming credit for inventing/rediscovering the Dhar Breakers?
Added a rumor mill item for that

Also now that the country is free of Chaos have the Dwarfs started reclaiming all the Lost Holds in the country when they were first lost in the coming of Chaos?
Yep.

Have the Grendels expanded at all past their swamp?
Yeah. They're expanding, but they're sticking to largely uninhabited and quiet regions.

Also what is up with the local Ogres have they been assimilating to our culture at all?
Yes. You'll get an update on that in turn 19.

@ancusohm Cursed Company is still hanging out with us right? Can we throw them at the cultists?
Yes they are, and yes you can.

Hey @ancusohm, not to bug ya, but I'm guessing you're waiting to update Ashi's character sheet until the next turn? I'm just a little eager to see what delicious bonuses the Purifier gives to her.
No problem. The update should be going up shortly.

@ancusohm I was curious does the memorial garden of ash trees we set up in the Mountain Crown make it safer safer in general since the area is closer to our gods or does it provide some other bonus?
The garden makes Mountain Crown even more sacred to your gods than it was before. This gives you an increased chance of miracles, like, say, spontaneously ascending to demigodhood. You'll also get a boost to some magical rituals performed in the area.

AN: @ancusohm hope I depicted Hall correctly to your thoughts and want to put any possible bonuses to when we go to find the Great Mother.
You did a great job. Thanks. I'll make sure to add that bonus.

@ancusohm why did our people reforge the metal and other stuff from the Everchosens' forces wouldn't they also fall under the destroy/slash hand over to the wizards to destroy?
Basically this:
Sounds like someone looted a Chaos Warrior armor to melt down. Perfectly normal given that a full suit of plate armor is worth a crapton of metal and thus wealth. All it takes is one person with Greedy to slip a few pieces in their own gear.

Out of the tens of thousands of people gathered, a handful of people walked off with some trinkets and trophies, and then they were corrupted.

@ancusohm I was curious is it possible that Tor (the Kislev god of thunder and lighting) is a forgotten Ancestor god who's worship somehow traveled south?

I ask since he has a lot of parallels to the war god Thor (even the name is one letter off!) and Thor was a viking god whom the Norscans are based off of.

Sweet Sigmar 39 martail!?! good lord she will tear chaos a new one

who wants to just have our wife stationed in the south with a big ass sign that says "here i am please form a single file line to get butchered"
Best part is since she has a +10 against Dhar she is even more deadly against the forces of Chaos.
Despised by Khorne: You are one of the humans Khorne hates most in all the world. His champions will find out, but your experiences have greatly improved your martial skill (+5 Martial)
Pretty sure only Sigmar had the same level of hate from Khorne when he was mortal.
Ulthuan Produces Wondrous New Artifacts!!! - Loremaster Teclis shocked the world as he announced he has made an astounding new discovery. He can create new Waystones that he claims are capable of weakening the foul wind of Dhar. Marienburg is said to have already paid a fortune to get enough to protect the Wasteland and every one of its colonies. The Lizardmen have also expressed an interested. Other nations prove a little more skeptical about these claims.
Awesome!

High Elves get all the credit and Chaos is none the wiser.

Best part the High elves are better able to handle the new target on their backs and with the Dhar Breakers that has only improved their ability to do so.

@ancusohm I was curious is Teclis and the Tower still studying Jotun magic (fertility ritual, Jotun runes, and other stuff) that we gave them knowledge about thus not doing anything much with them yet?

Probably doing it between all the other things like fighting a war and mass producing dharbreaks. Elven fertility is very much a long term research project.

What happened to that other woman we got pregnant
She gave birth and had Thorfins' child however with no divine power.

Now that Ashi is healed up and a demigod herself any future children will be with her and have a higher chance of of having the divinity pass on.

Fair enough just curious.

Now that they have Jotun magic that is both safer than using the Winds and has lots of utility (if not a huge amount of power) I wonder what wizards and stuff they will produce.

Also now with Jotun magic they can make their own Runes so I wonder what Elven made Runes will look like.

Sweet, they claimed responsibility. We can deploy our Dharbreakers now, no worries.

Still want to purify Heimgard, hunt down some more cultists, get rid of those Chaos items, and then move into our new capital Hold.

We can start deploying mass Dhar Breakers when we have enough to cover the whole country and a couple more to focus solely around our new capital.

@ancusohm how many Dhar Breakers do we currently have and how many would it take to spread over the country?

So we gave away the Dharbreaker credit? Thanks guys, now our best magic items are being sold by the salad-eaters instead of us. Chaos would have tried to murk us anyway you know -_-

If we did something like that we'd face a massive horde from the Chaos Wastes. Right now Chaos is squabbling among themselves because of Khorne's current weakness, but a challenge to them like that would probably provoke an overwhelming response from all four gods.
