Visions of Bronze, Visions of Brass: Setting and Mechanics

Safari, on a mobile device. No idea what Greasemonkey refers to in this context.
... oi.

You sure you want to type out an RP on a mobile? [/is really just grouchy about having to consider mobile devices :V ]

Greasemonkey is an extension that exists in some browsers - FIrefox and Chrome for sure, I think IE has a version, dunno about Safari - that lets you "customize your browser experience," as the tagline goes - basically it lets you set scripts to run on certain pages and screw with the page client-side. So you could, for example, replace any BBcode tags with real HTML, to implement a somewhat shoddy BBcode parser.

Firefox--just downloaded Greasemonkey, but have absolutely no idea how to use it

*shrugs*

It's all I have, and it works for me. I use an ipad, to be specific, and every game or quest I have participated in or run for the last few years has used my pad exclusively.

Mm. Fair enough. I'm impressed though :p.

Alright, I'll see what I can do. Is the iPad jailbroken?

Regardless, the obvious other solution is to use IRC for our chatting and do all the posting on SV, though as we'd end up using rolz for our rolling anyway it'd be a little perverse. (I do want to have a chat open, because casual chatter is nice.)

Ask my players. Personally, I don't particularly mind, since I also mean the chat to be an easy way for my players who don't like traditional IRC to chat with me and ask questions and whatnot - just make sure you clear out during actual game sessions.

More rules edits! To summarize: you have (Size + Resilience/2) health levels, they work like in nWoD (so counting backwards from Incap, -3, -2, -1), you have a Dying level after Incap, if you blow through it or end the scene in it you die. (Though self-resurrection is not entirely impossible in Mage, now that I think about it...). Soak is Resilience/2.

Also, base difficulty for Spheres is (Sphere - 1) - this was a balance edit I had to make earlier and then forgot about because it is unfortunately unintuititive. It does mean that we can just take most modifiers and difficulties from the book wholesale, once you replace target numbers with successes and whatnot. (They are approximately equal as long as you spend most of your time around 10 dice, which we generally do.)

Lastly, clarified Barriers, you can in fact blast through a Barrier with a single powerful Effect.

While I'm at it, though, we should probably decide which city we're in. It's surprisingly cosmetic at the moment - most of my current plans will work pretty well in any major city in the world - but I imagine that will change shortly as I elaborate. Obvious answers to me: Kyoto, London, New York, Los Angeles.

Detroit.

It is a "world of darkness" after all

Los Angeles to channel maximum 90s.

Updated the Data Sphere after consideration with @NonSequtur. Also added rules for self-conflict with Principles.

In addition, if you go to the rolz site and look under the wiki tab on the right pane (the icon's a book), you'll find that I've added pages for all your characters. (Ocelot's and Teceler's will be added as soon as they have names.) Please migrate your characters there; from now on they'll be our primary, easily-accessible repository for character sheets, so update them there when you spend xp and whatnot. I'll also upload various dossiers and bits of IC information there as needed.

A character who wears an exoskeleton and uses two swords. The exoskeleton provides armor and helps agility and strength. On the back of the exoskeleton, there is a pack that mainly serves as a large battery. Wires channel electricity through two paths on the exoskeleton. Each one goes to the respective palm as well as several wires that can be thrown as projectile weapons. Each sword will likewise conduct electricity through it if grasped in the palm. If desired, wires can be attached to the swords as well. Completing the circuit---well, you know what happens then.
How's the character coming?

Also, @linkhyrule5 will we be playing tomorrow, or no?

What time tomorrow? Or today for me, since it's currently just a bit past 2am.

(Shift work, yay!)
Noon EST=5pm GMT, unless you can do 7pm-12am your time, in which case that'd be ideal. (Bloody sleep problems.) But i can do noon/5pm otherwise.

Oh, and on a side note - you need a passworded account to edit the wiki pages, presumably as a minimal security feature.

Background:
He grew up in the technocracy--not by choice but because his family was part of it. Upon growing, he learned what the technocracy stood for and what it meant to be a part of it. The rest of the world was splintered--fractured, but the technocracy--the technocracy remained united, and that's what made it strong. But how did it get that way? He wondered about this constantly. Just because everyone believed it, it didn't mean it was the best path. These thoughts plagued him from time to time, and as a result, he became a tad removed from the technocracy. Always observing, never fully trusting anyone.

He still did his job--he didn't let his thoughts effect him that much. But he realized that he needed to realize what was important to him rather than just the technocracy. And he came to realize that while they did agree most of the time, they were not a perfect match. He occasionally had to make compromises between the two and, when he did, he was never pleased with the outcome.

Why did these things differ? Stray effects from the outside? It was this thought that ensured he remained loyal to the technocracy for years to come. But despite the technocracies success, the problem persisted. He began to grow concerned that the splintering of the world could spread to the technocracy. And in time he began to suspect that another approach would be necessary; he needed a way to create a united, perfect world. Of course, he wouldn't go to the technocracy without a plan, so he decided that his contribution would be to figure it out on his own. And once he discovered what needed to be done, maybe there would finally be peace.

And that concludes our first session! The forum thread can be found in the rolz forum; a new one will be started next week, same Union time, same Union place.

After a break to deal with actual IRL stuff for once, the thread will update with further rules updates and the game's first State of the Game summary, for the sake of later review.
