Veil of Realities (Worm/Altpower!Taylor)

Chapter 10: Oni Lee
Lung is surprised and excited at the same time. He knew that Poltergeist is still at this city. Though he don't know why they are attacking now, he welcomed it. Because this time, he will make sure to show them why they shouldn't provoke him.

It's really simple how he knows it's poltergeist. He have heard the reports, and was informed through the TV and the newspapers. A Cape capable of holding onto many people with a lot of hands. Invisible, and seems to like breaking the glasses.

She is like those ghosts he usually heard from his hometown. Those malicious spirits who have a grudge against someone, destroying properties just because they can, and causing untold amount of suffering and misfortune to the others. Poltergeist is like that.

He doesn't believe that they are a group. No, he really thinks they are alone.

It's simple really. They are a ghost themed cape. Other than being invisible and intangible, there is another aspect common for a ghost.

That is floating objects.

Yes. Floating objects can become possible if Poltergeist have Telekinesis. If she have Telekinesis, then it is simple to grab onto many people without thinking about it. Breaking glasses can also be considered as something that Poltergeist can't control because their Telekinesis might be indiscriminate.

It might be thought based. Maybe something like a command. Because he can feel those many hands trying to pin him down, along with some human weight on his back. All of them. Which means they might be limited to only a single type of command in terms of their Telekinesis.

He simply have to overpower it then. A ghost can't defeat the strongest mythical being, is what he is thinking.

"Your puny powers can't contend against me!" He roared, standing fully at his height and looming on his men. His eyes looking around to see if there is anything amiss.

He can't sense any threat. Despite feeling a bit threatened by the sudden feeling of being held by a hundred people, his powers only bulks up his body without changing much.

He knows his powers will ramp him up when a perceivable threat is coming at him. Depending on the threat, his ramping up will get faster. Slowly turning into a proud dragon that no one can contend.

This also indicates that Poltergeist is weak enough that his power deems it a non-issue to further ramp him up. This makes him smile, and then grin maliciously. Knowing that the elusive Cape is just a weakling not even worth his power.

As he is trying to look around, he can see that Oni Lee has been teleporting around and leaving out his clones who were being held down one-by-one to the ground, before they vanished into ashes. Even when he tries to get a vantage point above the rooftops of the warehouses here, he was still held by those mysterious forces.

He tried to rely on his enhanced senses, taking in the scent of the place, and then the noises around him. Along with his body becoming stronger, Lung's senses also sharpens with it. So it is impossible for someone to sneak around him.

"Hm?" He heard the noise of ringing on one of the abandoned buildings besides him. As he turned to look at it, he saw the windows breaking as if someone smashes it with a hard blunt object. He grinned. "So your there!" He roared, before charging on that place.

Climbing on the broken window, and not even minding the nicks of wounds that occurs on his palms due to the broken shards of glasses, he looks around before quickly seeing a phone laying on the floor and ringing. Calling for an emergency number for the PRT.

He snorts, before stomping on that phone. Destroying it with a couple of grinds of his feet. "Useless! Relying on the authority?" He stated.

Though his power seems to have sensed the danger as he felt his body slowly evolving once more. His smile turning wicked as the Poltergeist unintentionally just helped him transform more to his rightful form.

"If you won't show yourself, then I will burn this building!" He declared, trying to scare the Poltergeist.

He thinks Poltergeist is a Hero. It's pretty obvious as that mysterious Cape is known for cracking down on any drug-related crimes. Heroes can't leave innocents alone.

Even if this building is abandoned, his flames that he is slowly feeling within himself can easily burn down this building, along with the neighboring ones. That will cause some casualties regardless of his intention.

If Poltergeist is truly a hero, then they won't just let him do what he wants. He wanted Poltergeist to fight him head-on.

Is this guy crazy!?

I heard what Lung is capable of. It's literally known by anyone living in this city. A Cape who can transform into a dragon, and also breathe fire.

His flames is capable of wiping out at least a block if he evolves, and become more dangerous as it goes on.

This place is very near with the DWU. My Dad is still here working!

.... I have already called the PRT. I really don't want to fight someone like him. Though it seems like this will take awhile.

I know that this will take awhile, because some of my alternates are on the PRT HQ. Hearing the nonchalant staffs around here. Even though they already filed it as a Poltergeist case, it seems like they are not that motivated today.

I heard they are going to call some Protectorate heroes to get here. Though again, it will take awhile.

And I can't wait for that!

-"It seems like I have to do this by myself!" Muttering to myself like that, I look around for a bit.

I know that I can't fight Lung head-on. He easily lifts hundreds of alternate me out like it was nothing to him. Hundreds of my weight doesn't matter to him!

I am really contemplating using the myriads of weapons I have in the empty Alternate Versions of my city. Though before I can think of that, I am once again distracted as I saw Oni Lee suddenly appearing besides Lung.

-I am actually getting irritated. Punching the back of this clone I am holding on this rooftop before they vanished into ashes. I can't grasp Oni Lee despite having thousands of me in this place!

"Your really not going to face me..." I can hear the sound of scorn with his voice. Lung turned to Oni Lee. "Lee. Bomb this place!"

.... What!?

At the same time I heard it, different alternate me quickly moves to secure all the ABB members that I have restrained on the ground outside this building. Holding them and then throwing them to my other me in quick succession, trying to evacuate them out of this place.

As I was doing that, I created another couple of hundreds of alternates besides Oni Lee and Lung to restrain them. Wanting to make sure to prevent Oni Lee from flicking the trigger for those grenades.

Despite having done so, I still heard the click.

-I quickly hold onto the falling unpinned grenade on the floor, before throwing it to the window.

--Where another me is waiting. Catching that grenade that is close to exploding. Then throwing it above the air.

--And having an alternate who is already midair to take that grenade, quickly catching it with both of my hands and then throwing it upwards.

Within that short time I managed to do that, the grenade finally exploded above. My alternates ignoring what happened to the Original World, making those near it unaffected by that explosion. Then I dismissed those visions.

.... Ugh. My body is a lot more stiffer again. I can't open my mouth....

I can't even celebrate because I heard another click on the corner of the room. Seeing Oni Lee already there and letting that grenade fall on the floor.

Another click, and another and another and another!

This is too much!

-A lot of other me quickly makes an alternate where we were already besides him, catching onto the grenade and throwing all of them outside the broken windows, where other me are waiting to catch it and throw it above the air. Repeating what I did awhile ago.

-At the same time, some of me are acting as oversight. Looking at each corner of this area so I can quickly prepare for the new Oni Lee appearing.

-Then other me will take care of prompting the Original Me from creating more Visions, making more Alternates to quickly deal with the ongoing barrages of his clones.

Within that time, I can see and hear the explosions on the sky occuring. Creating a rhythm of some sorts as me and Oni Lee tried to one up each other. Him throwing grenades and teleporting somewhere, and me catching it and playing throw with my other alternates to throw it on the sky.

I can see Lung standing there in the middle of our dance. Ramping up and becoming more larger. His skin turning into silvery scales, and his face slowly morphing into something elongated. A shimmer of heat surrounds his visage, as he glares at the wall, maybe looking at one of me who is also staring at him intently.

...... This is not getting anywhere....

While making more of my alternates to deal with Oni Lee, some of my Alternates goes to the empty library on the Alternate Version of this city. Quickly booting up the computer there and searching the internet. I quickly go to the PHO forums, and quickly go to the Brockton Bay Boards. Looking for the Villainous Capes on the list, and then clicking on Oni Lee's page.

I just have to know his weakness, and then I might be able to win!

Then, I'll take care of Lung.... hopefully non-lethally. I really don't want to kill someone again.....

I am actually planning something else on this chapter, though I can't really find any way to input that plan, so I decided to go along with this.

I hope this is enjoyable!~

Chapter 11: Reset
-Oni Lee. A Villainous Cape and is considered the right hand man of Lung. He is capable of teleportation while leaving out his clones from his former position, which after some time will turn into ashes. The clones are autonomous based on the news that I watched at him.

-Currentlt scrolling through the page about Oni Lee, I stopped when I see a certain sentence here.

-"Line of sight.... his teleportation is dependent on his line of sight!" My eyes widened for a bit, before smiling.

Now, I finally know how to defeat him!

As one of my alternates reading the wiki is expressing my relief, most of my alternates are quickly changing tactics. Now instead of trying to pin him down, I am going to block his sight!

-When he appeared in front of me, I quickly made tens of alternates. The alternates are holding onto handkerchiefs that were taken on some clothing shop in the downtown, and were duplicated through my powers.

-Then we tackled him, quickly throwing a single handkerchief to his face and then letting it appear on the Original World, while the other one wraps their arms around his neck and then wrap the handkerchief around their eyes. Then I let it appear on the Original World too.

It seems like I don't even need to think of following up as I tied him up. It seems like throwing that handkerchief in advance makes it impossible for him to teleport out of me as I don't see any of him popping out again.

As each of his clones crumbles into dusts, only him who is tied on the floor and blindfolded remains.

..... That was so nerve-wracking! Well, only my alternates can feel nervous!

"Mppp... so u mnage to catch hii..." I heard the growling and unintelligible words of the ABB Leader, turning to him and seeing that his body has become foot taller. His body bulkier and his appearance morphing into something inhuman. He snorted. "Dun matre... I wil jus bit u!"

How can he beat me? He can't even touch me!

Despite thinking like that, I saw him roaring. Immediately ignoring the sound of his warcry as it felt a bit loud to my ears.

.... This idiot! What is he thinking!?

I am surprised. Truly surprised. He suddenly bursts into flames, seemingly trying to engulf this whole building in flames.

Did he not care about Oni Lee? What kind of leader is he!?

Despite my confusion, he is still continuing to do it. I quickly decided to evacuate the tied up Oni Lee away from here, though quickly stops. Realizing something.

-"Shit! I don't have time!"

My power only works on Alternate Worlds. I can put anything in it, and I can ignore anything in the Original World, or any Alternate Worlds or Parallel Worlds with the others. The vice versa can't be done though.

While I can throw the alternate versions of something into the Original World, I can't throw what's on the Original World into the Alternate World.

It is why I am not even trying to put something dangerous on the Original World, as I can't take it back if I did so.

It also meant that while I can save myself from these flames, I can't save Oni Lee.

I can't throw him to an Alternate World to ignore the effects happening here on this Original World. I also don't want to try putting my Alternate Version to the Original World. I think having two of me in this world will be bad.

But.... I can't leave him alone!

I might have killed that gasmask lady awhile ago, but it is unintentional! I didn't even wanted that to happen! I just can't stop it, as it happened in the Original World! Not on an Alternate World!

Regardless of how much I can change the Alternate Worlds, if it doesn't even do anything to the Original World, then it's useless!

Does that mean I have to use some of the things I got on the Parallel World?

No. I might accidentally kill Lung. I might also destroy a lot of areas here, and even injure the other people nearby, or worse kill them!

I can't do that!

...... Though, what if... instead of my Alternate Version, I put their alternate version to this world?

You know what... I don't have any ideas left. I think I should try that!

-Quickly fleeting through different Alternate Versions of this city, I quickly found a Lung standing besides me. Still untransformed. This alternate version is not even facing anyone, just staring intently on the wall.

-I hold onto him and then.... throw him to the Original World.

I am expecting this alternate version of Lung to appear besides me. Look into this Lung and they duke it out. Also hoping to steer them away from this place.

What I didn't expect is Lung to disappear, and then reappear besides me, untransformed just like his alternate version.

He seems to look around frantically for a bit, grunting in what I think might be a surprised noise before clenching his fist.

"What!?" He bellowed, making me flinch for a bit.

Wait.... I was hoping for him to fight his alternate version. Why did he get teleported to my side!?

Also, why is he untransformed now!?

Even as I am feeling curious, I can see him slowly ramping up once more.

.... I have an inkling why it happened, so trying one more. I look through the alternates and find a version of him who is still not ramped up, and is outside of this building.

Throwing him to the Original World, Lung suddenly vanishes at this building and reappeared on the outside, untransformed and is gawking once more.

"What's happening!? Is this another of your tricks, Poltergeist!?" I heard him asked, growling for a bit as he stares at his hands for a bit.

I tried taking an alternate version of him who is located on the rooftops, throwing this version to the Original World. Lung reappearing on the exact location where that alternate is located.

"Stop it!" I heard. But I tried more. Wanting to be sure.

"Stop!"

"Why am I on the sky!?"

"Why am I already tied up!?"

"You dare hang me on this light post!?"

"I'll kill you!"

".... Stop!"

"Fuck you! I will burn you to crisp when I got my hands on you!"

"Stop!"

"Stoooooooooooooooooooooop!!!!"

Armsmaster is currently gazing at the defeated expression of Lung. Oni Lee who is tied besides him, and an unknown Cape in a gasmask who is shivering besides them, also tied up along with them. There are also some members of ABB together with them. Gathered together and are also tied up.

He have gotten here after taking care of a minor scuffle from the Empire. Hearing that this is a Poltergeist case and it seems like they are fighting against the ABB, he was thinking that the mysterious Cape might have been defeated so he drives a bit faster to this place.

He also heard of reports stating that grenades were exploding just a bit above the warehouses, acting like a really ugly set of fireworks.

Getting here makes him look at them in confusion. Not really knowing what happened. There are some traces of fight in this place. The ashes, that patch of ice with a hollowed human shaped indent on it, and the broken windows on that one building.

"... Take me..." He flinches, before rigidly turning his face to Lung who looks so demoralized.

".... What happened?" He can't help but asked.

"Poltergeist..."

He is not really expecting the ABB Leader to answer. Though even when Lung answered, he still can't understand it just by that.

And Bakuda is alive again....

So yeah, hope you enjoy this chapter!~

Chapter 12: Midnight Hospital Miracle
Holy shit! My powers are totally broken!

I thought I can only visit the Alternate Worlds and the Parallel Worlds and take some items there, throwing it back to the Original World. I thought the ignoring effects from other dimensions is just a side-effect of what I can do.

Then I learned about that! The capability to teleport others by throwing their Alternate Versions to this world!

Another effect of this is that they will be put on the same state as the alternate version that I put here.

The one I thought that I killed? She is alive now and is together with those ABB members, put on a jail beneath the PRT HQ!

I am still unsure, so I put some of my alternates to the Brockton General Hospital. I wanted to know if I can truly use my powers for healing. If I managed to prove that... well, it will help me protect my Dad more!

-As I got inside the hospital, I look around for a bit. Seeing the nurses walking around and the receptionist busily looking at something behind the counter. Passing through them, me and my alternates quickly splits up and then go to the rooms where no one is looking.

-I actually don't know what each of these room are called. Though I can guess by just what kind of patients are inside.

-This room seems to be those who are sick. I don't know what kind of sickness as the majority of them are middle aged people, and some are teenagers.

-... Even if I don't know what kind of sickness do they have, I just need to find a version of them that are healthy.

-So I quickly make some alternates, fleeting through each alternates until I found a satisfactory healthy version of all of these people. All of these healthy people are also sleeping, but unlike the ones on the Original World who are groaning or moaning in pain, these ones are just peacefully sleeping, with some even smiling.

-As to how I know they are the healthy versions, I actually don't know. I'm just basing my conclusions to how they look.

-Picking them up, I put them on the Original World. Turning them healthy.... I hope....

-While that is happening, other me are on some ward which seems to be for those with injuries. Just looking at those people full of bandages and gauzes on their body, I quickly get to work.

-Unlike people who are sick, I can actually see if my powers are truly effective by these people who are injured. So I quickly got to work. Going through the alternate worlds until I found a version of them who are whole, looks healthy, and not wrapped by gauzes or bandages.

-The effect is immediate after putting their alternate versions to the Original World. They become just like the state of their alternate selves.

I am still a bit unconvinced, so I wanted to test more of this. Does it truly translate to any state of being?

What if some things can't be changed? What if they have amnesia? Or some power-induced sickness? Or some sort of virus within their body? Can I take care of it even without knowing if they are truly being afflicted by something like that?

I need to be sure!

"Panacea!"

The girl in a white robe perks up, before turning around. Gazing tiredly at the nurse who is approaching her with a frantic look. "What is it?" She asks, thinking it might be something about the patients.

She is right about her thoughts, though it is a bit far to what she is expecting when she heard the nurse telling her to look at the patients at the room where critically ill and injured patients are located.

Getting to that place, her eyes widened when she saw the rather energetic patients sitting up on their bed, and even some standing up. Regardless if they are old or not.

"What?" She muttered, surprised evident in her eyes as she glances around. Not knowing how to react.

Though within a few moments, she manages to get her composure back. Walking forward to one of the patient who is still sitting up on their bed. She recalls this old man being someone who have Alzheimer's and is also incapable of moving the majority of his body due to a brain defect that got worse as he got older.

"Sir. May I have a permission to heal you?" She actually didn't think she will need to, though if she saw something worrying within his body, she might need to do so. So she thinks that's the right word to say.

"Huh... your Panacea right?" With her nod, he continues with a smile. "Yes. You have my permission."

After he says that, she gently put her hand on the wrists of the old man. Her eyes widening when she saw his whole body, which indicates the peak of healthiness.

'Defect on brain is gone, but it still have the same general structure that his personality is sustained. All defects are missing and has been smoothed out. The forming tumor on some of his organs are also gone, and his weak bones are also stronger now. How the hell did this happen!?' She can't believe it.

She quickly goes to the other patients, asking for their permission and touching them. The feeling of surprise and amazement rising within her as she inspects all of them, and find out that anyone of them are perfectly healthy.

"Are they fine?" She raises her head at the nurse's call, turning around just after she was done touching the old woman who have come back to laying on the bed comfortably.

".... Yes." Seeing that the nurse is looking at her with a raised brow by her unsure tone, she takes a single cough before speaking once more. "Yes. She is fine. Everyone in this room are perfectly healthy."

".... How...?" The nurse looks like she can't even believe it herself.

Just as they are thinking of speaking more, the door was opened gently. Though with a bit of hastiness in it, the two of them and some of the patients looking on that door and seeing some of her other nurses looking a bit tired, as if they ran at somewhere far.

"Panacea..... we need your presence here!"

She widened her eyes for a bit, feeling a sense of dread as she was called once more.

"Wait.... don't tell me..."

And just like what she suspected, she found the patients on the next room. All of them are perfectly healthy. No defects. No changes on their biological makeup. It's like anything that is disadvantageous to their biology was just taken off and exchanged by something that is either helpful or a little bit helpful to their body.

And then she discovered later on that every patients on the hospital were healed. Even those who are considered dead on arrival, and are just on the process of being taken to the morgue. They were suddenly resuscitated, as if they are always alive and just discovered how to breathe again.

Awhile later, PRT was called to investigate this anomalous event.

This is a bonus chapter and the last chapter I will submit for today. I hope you have fun with this story!~♪

See you later!~♪

Chapter 13: A Lead?
Poltergeist is not really that high profile. They only know them as a minor Stranger who seems to have a hatred against drug dealers, or so their analysts thinks.

While they are looking for Poltergeist, they are not as important as dealing with the major gang presences.

That perception was broken when that same Poltergeist defeated Lung. They didn't just defeated Lung, they beat them so much Lung seems to have lost his morale.

Which is weird because Lung is someone who managed to contend against an Endbringer. Beings who became synonymous to natural disasters.

Due to this, Poltergeist's case became much more serious. Poltergeist cases became a high priority for them.

Then there is another case on the hospital which made things more chaotic. Every patients on the Brockton General Hospital were healed to full health. No complications were seen, and Panacea, one of the greatest healer on the East Coast, just stated that these people were so healthy that if they live without doing something bad to their body, they can at maximum reach the age of 120.

Both of those cases are currently the topic of this meeting. Director Emily Piggot is sitting on the middle of the room, and besides him are the Deputy Director Renick, PRT Representative, PRT Consultant, and many more. Along with them is also Protectorate Leader Armsmaster, and Second-in-Line Protectorate Leader Miss Militia.

"So the first topic of this meeting will be about the defeat of Lung, and Poltergeist. Armsmaster."

Calling out to him, he nodded before standing up. "As of 7:05, a call was made on our operators. It is believed that it was Poltergeist who called as the usual noises of shattering glasses were heard after the call connected. After that, countless reports from citizens near the Docks were received, stating that explosions from the sky kept happening. Thirty minutes after that, I finally arrived after taking care of the commotion that the Empire is doing on one of my patrol routes. When I arrived there, I saw Lung's men, Oni Lee, and a new Cape member of them called Bakuda tied up together and huddled together with Lung, who volunteered to be taken to the prison. That is all, Ma'am!"

Piggot nodded, before looking at some of the files, and then taking one of it. "Hm. Based on what Lung said during the interrogation, he stated that he was teleported in varying conditions. Sometimes being already at his full Changer state, and most of the time being put in his base state. He also said something weird like being taken back to his young age, or sometimes already feeling old before going back to his present state. What can we make of this?" Piggot asked, putting the paper back on the table and then looking at them.

"I think Poltergeist is connected to our second topic." PRT Analyst Lisbeth said, the others turning to her to continue. "The mysterious healer, tentatively named Nightingale, is known for healing all the patients of the Brockton General Hospital, isn't it?" With their nods, she continued. "We theorized that Nightingale might have the capability to change organic states. It is possible that with Nightingale's help, they managed to cancel Lung's Changer effects."

"This still doesn't answer Lung's claim of being teleported." Piggot interjected.

"May I?" All of them then turned to the PRT Consultant Thomas. "I think Poltergeist have a third member with them. Teleportation is totally out of Poltergeist's ghost theming, and it's also far enough to Nightingale's suspected capability to change organic states." He stated.

"So your implying that they have a teleporter with them?"

"Yes." He said with a confident look. "I think this teleporter is only limited to a single target, due to Lung's statements. If they are not limited to a single person, they why did they not help Poltergeist to fight Oni Lee?"

All of them nodded at that, seeing the logic behind it.

Thomas seems to be planning to say something when they heard the sound of his phone ringing. All of them immediately turning to him, with some gazing at him coldly.

"A moment please." He raises his hand, before quickly standing up. Leaving the room as he takes his phone.

All of them stares at his back until he left the room, before they continue their topic.

"Okay. So what should we call about the hypothetical third member of Poltergeist?" With the Director's question, the conversation started once more.

Thomas Calvert grumbled under his breathe as he looks for a place to take his call privately. Feeling a bit irritated as he was called in the middle of the meeting.

No one knows this, but he is actually Coil in his Cape persona. The leader of the one the three major gangs of this city. Currently, he is very interested at the appearance of the new Cape called Poltergeist.

Not because he wanted to recruit them or something. No, he wanted them gone.

Since the middle of January, which is the day Poltergeist started operating on this city, his powers are malfunctioning. Whenever he is doing his simulations, they are suddenly being cut off, like someone just decided to turn off his powers.

He might think it is a coincidence when his powers started malfunctioning at the same time Poltergeist appeared, but no. He is a lot more paranoid than that. He thinks Poltergeist is the one messing with his powers.

After taking another bend in the corner, he stops before finally accepting the call.

"What?" He growled, already knowing who is calling him.

"Hey Boss!" That voice that sounds irritating to his ears greeted rather joyfully. "Guess what? I found something crucial!"

"I don't have time for this, Lisa. Just say it!" He said, his patience already running dry.

"Okay!" That flippant tone is honestly making him irritated, because he can't use his powers. Even if he uses it, he doesn't know when it will suddenly turn off. So he doesn't bother. "So you know about Poltergeist? I think I know who he is!"

His eyes narrowed at that. "Explain." He said coldly, a sense of anticipation coming to his voice, though he is trying to suppress that.

"You know about the Warehouse where those stupendous amounts of tools are located near the Union?" He grunted in affirmation. "It seems like Poltergeist sees that place as very important." She pauses for a bit, making almost snarl in anger.

"Go on." He said, forcing his growling voice into a whispered grunt.

"Right, I hacked into some of the office files from that place, and I heard that they are having an excess of tools on another warehouse just near the office of the Head of Human Resources of the Union." His eyes glinted, getting the implications with it. "There is a high chance that Poltergeist is the head himself, one named Danny Hebert."

Danny Hebert. He knows him. Being someone who is well-known on the Docks. Known for being the pillar of the Dockworker's Union, he always kept the place afloat even with the rampant gang activities of the city. Scraping for any jobs that they can take, and hustling with many company managers, and even the mayor.

He always make sure to learn even those who are on a higher position. Danny is just on his low priority, though if what Lisa said is true, then he thinks he have to test that.

"I see. How sure are you of that?"

"Very!"

He nodded, before telling her that he will call her later for more details. Closing the call, he quickly made up some plans inside his mind.

'Danny huh... so your the one messing with my powers!' He thought.

He doesn't care if he have a teleporter or someone who can create miracles. He is sure that after Poltergeist is gone, he can take his time converting those two into his minions.

So I am actually planning this to be a PHO chapter, as I find it fun reading chapters like that. Though I really can't write something decent and long with that, so I changed it into this.

I hope I didn't make this too much of an OOC. I am just writing them based on my impressions of them from some of the worm fanfics that I read.

Hope you have fun with this chapter!~♪

Chapter 14: Assassinating my Dad?
These past three days, I am always having this strange Visions.

Well, it is happening sometimes on one of my Visions. Where instead of their alternate versions moving the same as the one on the Original World, these weird Visions are moving differently without my prompting.

Good thing I can simply dismiss those Visions, though it is getting a bit aggressive. I don't know what is happening. In my weird alternate vision, some heavily armed people are always approaching the vicinity of DWU.

By dismissing these visions, those events are not happening anywhere, not even on the Original World. I would have left it at that if not for today.

-My Dad was killed!

-I don't know how, but I only heard the window shattering, before a splatter of blood coated the walls of his office. A meaty thud resounding as the lifeless body of my Dad fell on the floor. My eyes widening in realization as I--

Remove that vision. Looking at my Dad and seeing that he is still there. Busily looking at the files, and the cases he wanted to use to bury the school and my bullies to the ground.

.... I might not know what is happening, but I am sure of one thing. Some Cape is trying to hurt my Dad!

This is the first time someone managed to interfere with my Vision, albeit only a single one. Well, actually, not really a single one. There are some people that are clearly Parahumans who can go to some Parallel Worlds that I can visit. Though they are not really interfering with me. Only this one who have a lot of mercenaries with him!

Now, I only know of one gang who have a lot of mercenaries with them.

Coil's Organization!

A mysterious gang who holds the majority of Downtown. They are known for employing some Parahumans, and heavily armed mercenaries. It is unknown if the leader have powers or not, though he is still considered a legitimate threat and one of the villainous group due to some suspected operations that deals with illegal weapon smuggling, or assassination jobs with their mercenaries.

That's what I know from the reports. It's not stated how many men does he have, or how many Parahumans are in his employ. Still, it's easy to pinpoint that he is the one doing this!

I wonder why he is attacking my Dad?

Well, doesn't matter. I don't need to know what his reason is. He is a villain, and he wanted to target my Dad!

I'll make sure he'll never try again!

That is why half of my total alternates were diverted to roam around Downtown. While some of my alternates are on some places where I can find some info about Coil's Organizations.

I separated these into two groups. The assault group, and the intel group. The assault group are those who will roam any areas where I think Coil's Organization is related, while the intel group are those who will roam through the internet, and every documents detailing that organization.

Which means some of my alternates are on the police station, mayor's house, internet cafe, library, PRT HQ from Downtown, and even the Protectorate HQ from Boardwalk.

They can't even see me because I am roaming the empty Alternate Version of these buildings. It doesn't affect the Original World, so I can freely mess around with this place without any repercussions.

-I flinched when I heard another distant gunshot. Hearing the short scream of my Dad, before looking at him. My eyes widening as I saw my Dad falling on the ground, a hole on his forehead....

That's the seventh time that happened. I quickly dismissed that vision. Trying to ignore that heavy feeling in my heart, everytime I am reminded of that horrible vision.

"-aylor! Taylor!"

Surprised, I look to the side with an effort, seeing Lacey nudging me in my shoulder. I tried to raise my eyebrow, though that movement too also takes an effort.

"What's happening? Your face is looking a bit weird.... don't you like the show?" She asks me with that worried look.

".... Nn." I would have said no, but I can only grunt. It's pretty hard to move my mouth and tongue right now due to the amount of Visions that are currently running with my power.

"Okay. I'll try to change it." She said, before taking the remote and then changing the channel.

.... Well, I am not really that concentrated on the show, so it doesn't matter if she changes the channel. I have to go back concentrating on my Visions.

Sorry for the short chapter. I am thinking how to start this one, and it ended up like this.

Sorry for my bad writing. It's really hard for me to see my mistakes when writing, and reading my own work. I can read this without seeing anything wrong with my story, even though I know it's actually bad to the others.

I know that's not enough reason.... but it's really hard for me to see my mistakes. I'm so sorry for not being good enough for this....

I hope you fun with the story. See you later!~♪

EDIT: I actually saw that it's not the Merchants who are the third well-known gang on Brockton Bay, it's Coil's Organization.

Chapter 15: A Bit Hard to Pinpoint
'I should have stayed at our hideout!' That is what Lisa is currently thinking as she was sitting on the chair, in a room with heavy concrete as walls and a steel-padded door as the only entrance. A bed, a single table, a chair, and a laptop is the only thing inside this room.

She has been stuck on this room for a week now. Having been called by Coil, only to be told to stay here until further notice. She easily managed to deduce that Coil is being stretched thin by someone, and it seems to affect his powers.

She knows what his powers is, he literally told that to her face and looking all smug as he did so. She can't even do anything about it because she knows that he will know whether she plans something against him.

Now she is here being used as an informer for him. She can't even lie because she knows he will try something bad at her.

She really hates him. So even if she was forced to stay here like this, she still wanted to at least get a win of some sorts against him.

Like say, talking smack whenever he calls her.

It's the only respite she have from being essentially caged in this room.

She looks at the time on the laptop before sighing. "Two hours before meal...." She muttered to herself. Still feeling a bit unused at this kind of treatment.

She is still a teenager, and only being able to eat two meals a day is a bit harsh for her.

She roams through the PHO, and looks at the latest things on the Dockworker's and reports about Poltergeist.

Poltergeist. The Cape she is definitely sure is the head of the Dockworker's Union. She managed to extrapolate a lot of things after reading the files, hacking through the available feeds from the limited security cameras there, and reading the history of the key personnels there.

It includes medical files, and a brain scan that he had taken some years ago after an accident involving a gang fight to check for any complications, which showed that he has the potential to trigger.

She reads about the medical files of his daughter, and managed to deduced that it might have been the reason he triggers. The girl essentially turned into a retard. Mostly becoming daze and stiff without any reason at all.

Even her powers seems to accept the hypothesis.

The remaining is the two others. Actually, there are one more. Though she didn't say anything.

Poltergeist is definitely Danny Hebert. As for Nightingale and the teleporter that PRT designated as Flicker, she thinks it's the caretaker of his daughter and the husband of that caretaker.

What she doesn't know is the mystery one. Those three can't possibly do something that the Poltergeist case claims. It's the Thinker ability.

They surely have someone planning behind their movements. A person who knows just the right button to push on a possibly dangerous Tinkertech. Someone who can plan for the Brockton Hospital Miracle. They can't do all of that with just a normal plan. They will be in danger in the former, and will be easily caught in the other.

Though she can't pinpoint who it is. There are two candidates. The person who usually helps Danny from his paperwork, or that mechanic they have who always take care of pipeworks. Those two usually talks to Danny in private. As for the Daughter, it's impossible for her to be one as she is literally disabled.

She saw the medical files. There are no Corona Pollentia in her brain so it is impossible. Even if she have one, she literally can't do anything as her medical files states she is always in a constant state of low brain activity that borders on being in a coma.

She has been stuck in this place for a week now, so while feeling really guilty about it, she hopes that Poltergeist's group managed to defeat Coil. She is betting her all on their mysterious Thinker and their potent capabilities.

Not here. Not here. Not here. Not here!

Dammit! I can't even find where can I find that Coil person!

I have gone through every building in the Boardwalk and the Downtown this whole day. Despite that, I didn't encounter any hint of their organization.

Well, I managed to hit some of their bases, but those are just small ones. Only five or seven of his men are there. I quickly apprehended them and then teleport them all to the Police Station by throwing their alternates to that place.

Though even if I used their phones to track them, it doesn't really say anything at all. Maybe because I just don't know how to use phones in general?

-I saw two vans rushing through the road, and then crashing on the wire gate to the Union. The workers around gawking together with me as the van drifts for a bit before stopping. The people within the van quickly sliding the door and getting into position. They pointed their rifles at the workers and then....

I dismissed that vision. One of my Alternates shaking her head to take that thought out of my mind.

PRT and Police barely have any info about the Coil's Organization. It's only known that it exists and they claim the Downtown as their territory. Anything else is a mystery.

..... Hmm, well I know where one of their Cape mercenaries lives. I think he is called Circus or whatever...

Maybe I should track Coil through him?

So I wrote this as a way to break my Writer's Block. This is why it is too short... sorry about this....

I will admit. All my plans about this were lost in my mind. The bare plans I wrote on my notepad doesn't make sense to me anymore. So I am just writing whatever.

Again... sorry for the lackluster chapter...

Chapter 16: Instant Interrogation
On a small money exchanging business within the Downtown, Circus is there standing while waiting for the cashier to pile up the bag that she have full of their money.

Currently there is no work coming from her, so she has been doing some minor crimes to get by.

"There... that's all of it! Please don't hurt me!"

She is glad that she studied this small shop. He knows this guy is not truly an owner, but just a part timer that the owner hired a few weeks ago. After learning when is his shift, and whether he is loyal to this shop or not, she decided to take the shot and rob this store.

It's very easy when the shop she is robbing have staffs who doesn't have a strong inclination to protect the shop at all cost. It makes it easier for her to do simple things like this.

"Hand it to me." She simply said, while playfully conjuring fire on her hand and letting it vanish.

The guy quickly nodded before handing it to her carefully. After her hand brushes through the sling of that shoulder bag, it vanishes to her hammerspace.

"Welp, I'm out of here." She simply said with a salute, before quickly leaving the door with her nimble body.

It's really easy for her. She is planning to go back to her hideout, count the money she got, and treat herself to something when her vision changes into another.

It felt like a transition. When she takes a step outside of the shop, her vision changes into that of a place within some sort of a small dilapidated room. The only light source being the glassless window in front of her.

She also noticed that her limbs are bound on a chair that she is surprisingly sitting on. In front of her, a white board suddenly occurs, before words just appears on it as if someone typed it out.

"I know you work for Coil. Where is his base?"

She blinks her eyes for a bit, before slowly realizing that she was in fact kidnapped to this place. Her eyes panicked for a moment, before quickly calming down as she tries to smile. Though her lips are a bit strained as she tries smiling.

"... First of all, may I know who you are?" She asks while trying to think of how she can get out of here.

She can simply put the chair and the cords binding her arms on her hammerspace whenever she wants, but she doesn't know if she can run away without knowing who is her opponent. She didn't even know how she suddenly finds herself in this state, when she is just leaving that small shop.

She thinks she have to stall for some time, acquire some info, and making sure that she can actually have a valid escape route before she tries escaping.

The words on the white board immediately vanishes and were replaced with another after she blinks her eyes.

"I am what the people who calls as Poltergeist. Now, answer me. Where is Coil's base?"

'Poltergeist!?' She knows of that name, it is the rising star of the Cape scene. The mysterious Stranger who can defeat Lung, and heal a bunch of people in a hospital.

She also heard they caused the disbandment of a small gang, though she is not privy to those kind of news. It's a minor gang so she actually didn't care.

She also thinks they might be a group of people, as the sheer potency and variety of the Poltergeist Cases are so varied that it can't be done by a single Cape at all. Unless they are Eidolon. Though it's impossible for someone of Eidolon's level to suddenly appear out of nowhere.

'Crap... did I get swept up by someone's Cape Conflict!?'

She knows of Coil. She has work for him for some time, and acquire generous payments from him whenever she succeed in her work. She actually likes working with him as Coil only asks for some mundane, albeit weird types of work.

Works like causing a commotion on a parking area, or lighting fire on an Empire stash is one of those mundane things she is talking about. Despite only doing something simple, Coil always give a lot of money to her when the work is done.

Though she isn't really Coil's henchmen. No, she likes her freedom that much. She only works for him whenever he calls for her. So long as he will pay her, then she will do it.

Is it worth it to protect Coil from Poltergeist? Actually no... that's impossible!

She might as well just answer Poltergeist honestly. Though, there is a problem...

"Sorry.... I don't have any idea where his base is located...." She said with a troubled smile.

It is the truth. Whenever Coil calls her, he only tells her what he needs to do and just transfer some money to her after the job is done. He doesn't even invite her on his base.

The few times she was invited, she was always taken there in a car with the windows that doesn't show anything on the outside. So she don't know how they are getting to that large underground base when they got to his base.

"Are you telling the truth?" She reads on the board.

"Of course. I promised! I actually don't know where his base is located!" She said.

Silence occurs for a short moment, making her feel nervous about it. She wonders if she is just alone here, and is just waiting for nothing when words appears once more on the white board.

"Then... do you have an image of him?"

She blinks her eyes in wonder. 'Why image?' Though even if she tries to think about it, she just shrugs and decided to humor Poltergeist.

"I have an image of him on the phone. It's a bit blurry, but I think you can get the general features of him."

After she says that, she felt one of her hand being suddenly freed from the binding. She quickly realized what she needed to do and materializes her phone.

It is a bit hard operating the phone with one hand, but she managed with her deft fingers. Quickly, she got to the image she have of Coil. The one she took when they were in a meeting along with the other villains on Somer's Rock.

She waited for awhile, before finally asking. "Uh... is it okay now? Can you let me go?"

Silence only met her, before a simple word occurs on the white board.

"Sure....?"

After reading that while feeling confused, she suddenly blinks her eyes and almost stumbled as she finds herself in a small room.

'No...' She reevaluated as she realizes, it's not just a room. It's a jail!

After that realization alone, alarm blares occurs around the place and then some muzzles on the corner of the ceilings pointed at her.

Without being able to react, she has been quickly apprehended by a lot of foams.

Thomas quickly takes his phone as he heard it ringing. He is still working on his office when he got it.

"What is it?"

"Ah.... Boss... your body double... he has been captured by the PRT!"

".... What!?"

Finally, I managed to update this again. I thought I can't update this anymore as I lost all of my drafts about this...

I hope you still like this story, and have fun with this chapter!~

Chapter 17: Poltergeist's Identity?
A week has passed since his body double has been taken into the PRT custody. The fate of his body double is unknown as the PRT as the higher ups are very tight lipped about it.

Thomas can't even use his timeline splitting because it always abruptly stops whenever he uses it. So he can only do things discreetly.

Talking about discreetly, he was waiting for Accord's reply. He is friends with one of the villain factions on Boston, and that person considers him as an acquaintance. He wanted some sort of plan to take care of Poltergeist, as he can't even get the down on him regardless of how many attempts he tries to do.

Just when he is thinking about that, he heard his phone ringing. It's just at the right time as he was inside one of his safe houses. He didn't have work on the PRT today, and he didn't want to go to his bunker in fear of letting Poltergeist secretly following him somehow.

So he chose his safehouse. If Poltergeist is following him, then they won't know that he is the true Coil. He will just be a random PRT consultant who goes back to his home and taking a rest within his house.

He is sure that Poltergeist won't have all the time in the world to just gaze at him. So after glancing around his room, and even going as far as locking his room and covering all the windows with the curtains, he finally takes the call.

"... The files you have requested from us have been delivered. I will be waiting for your end of the deal."

It's the voice of a woman, which he quickly recognizes.

"I'm grateful. I'll quickly ship you your new recruit!" He said, his frown lessening but not vanishing from his lips.

After that the call ended. His eyes staring at the phone for a moment before making another call.

"Yes Boss?"

"Transfer the new file on my database. You know what it is."

"Okay Sir."

After that call, he immediately goes to his laptop. This one is custom made to connect to his main framework on his underground base.

After quickly entering the password, and another long string of codes to deactivate the self-destruction sequence, he finally got inside his database.

His eyes quickly skims through the file he got, before lighting up maliciously.

"It's a bit of a shame that I lost Sarah for this... but if it's to get rid of you, then her loss will be worth it!" He muttered under her breathe as he glances at all the files he got, which detailed a plan for him.

A week has passed since then. None of my Visions are moving differently without my prompting after Coil has been arrested. I have waited for a week, and because I don't see anyone trying to break Coil out from his containment, I think I can consider this problem as solved now.

My Dad is unaware of all of this. He is currently on a lawyer's office, discussing about what he needs to do to pull the principal, and a lot of the staffs there down. Also, to sue the school a lot for damages against my property, and also that long term bullying campaign against me.

I actually have forgotten most of that. My mind is more preoccupied at looking at the Alternate Worlds and Parallel Worlds to think of my past. I still don't like hearing any mention about them, but I mostly tend to not think about that stuff.

After my Dad is done talking to the lawyer, he drives back to our home. It only took some time before he arrives.

Lacey is still taking care of me by the way. Me (my original stiff body) and her are watching some cartoons about a hero from another city called Mouse Protector. We are eating some nachos... well, it's only Lacey who is eating it, and she is just feeding me patiently after taking her own bite.

But anyway, we are eating nachos when Dad came back.

"How is it?" Lacey stood up and asks him that, after wiping my mouth of some crumbs.

"It's good. We can proceed next week and let those people know that I won't just let things go silently." He said.

After talking for a bit more, Dad goes to me and kneeled for a bit to get in line with my sight. It's still a bit hard to move my head so I can only move my eyes with some difficulty.

"Taylor, my little owl. How are you doing? Are you eating fine?" I can only grunt with his words. "Great.... don't worry. Sooner we will get the justice you deserve. You only need to wait for a bit."

He sounds so soothing to my ears. I can see that his attention is solely focused on me and my well-being.

It makes me very happy.... but it's also sad as I can see the guilt on his face. His smile is a bit strained and weak despite forcing himself to be cheerful.

It's really those Trio's fault! Should I go take a visit and mess with them for a bit?

.... No. There is no need. That will just seem so petty...

But still, I really hope that my Dad stops looking at me guiltily everytime he tries to interact with me. I might have been mad and disappointed at my Dad when he mostly neglected me on the past, but I am fine now. He is making sure that I am always being cared for.

-As I am thinking about that, the me who is sitting on the veranda of our house notices the PRT Vans approaching our residence and then stopping just in front of our house.

-The other me sitting on the roof of our neighbors house narrowed my eyes when I saw PRT troops and even Miss Militia herself going out of those vans and approaching our house with hurried steps.

What do they want?

-A newly created Vision of an alternate of me who is standing on front of our entrance looks at them. Seeing Miss Militia knocking on our door and taking the attention of Dad and Lacey.

"Who is it?" Dad goes to the door and takes, before I heard him gasps.

-"Are you Mr. Hebert?" With my Dad's nod, she continues. "Your life is in danger, Mr. Hebert. We suggest you come with us before something bad happens to you."

Something bad? What's happening?

-I can see the confused look of my Dad as he glances at Miss Militia with a raised eyebrow. "What do you mean.... is something happening?"

-"There is someone who is claiming you are Poltergeist, and they have spread it all over the internet. We don't know if the claims are the truth, but there are others out there who might want to harm you due to those false claims. This is a serious matter, so we would really like if you come with us so we can protect you."

Someone is claiming that my Dad is me!?

-One of me who is on empty alternate version of our city, and is located on an internet cafe quickly opens one of the computers and browses the internet for a moment.

--After getting to the PHO forums, I quickly saw the most hot topic on the local forums. It is titled "I Challenge Everyone!"

--Based on what's written, this person who is acting like me literally told the whole world to go to Brockton Bay and fight them. Claiming himself to be Poltergeist or something. He even put the image of my Dad there, saying it is his civilian identity.

--Reading the comments on the forum, I can see a lot are very dismissive of these claims, though there are some who seems to be having some funny ideas. Those people's comments were quickly deleted by the mods, but I can't really drop the possibility that they might just go for my Dad.

--Surprisingly, they have all the images of my exploits. From dismantling the whole Merchants gang, to even the initial image of Lung and his gang being tied up together. There is even the image of Coil within the prison, and the image seems to be taken inside that prison.

Oh... even if I have no knowledge of taking those images, the people around didn't know that.

... Wait, isn't this bad? My Dad is being framed as me!?

I can hear my Dad slowly accepting Miss Militia's offer on the distance, with the condition that I also came along with them. So now they are putting me on a wheelchair, and preparing us to get to the PRT HQ.

Who is it? Who is framing my Dad!?

I made some new drafts to this story as I have lost all my old drafts. I don't know if this direction is good, but I hope it is...

Chapter 18: Something's Not Right
While we are being driven to the PRT HQ, I am making sure my alternates are scouting in advance. At least a few thousands of my alternates are focused on looking around us.

-I stopped after seeing a large traffic jam that is blocking our road on the distance.

--On the roof, I can see that the traffic jam goes all the way to the other sides of the streets.

--I can hear some of the drivers hurling curses at the others while pushing the horns of their cars or trucks. Some of them looks red in anger.

That's bad. We are getting closer to that traffic jam. It's even the road we are taking, which means we need to find another path to get to the PRT HQ.

-One of me looks in advance to see what's the problem, and easily managed to find the traffic lights malfunctioning above. It's constantly changing it's light without any rhythm to it.

-One of me who is on the other side of the streets heard the sounds of police cars on the distance.

-One of me who is at somewhere farther than that saw another traffic jam on this side of this city. There are even firetrucks lining up on the street, and I can hear the operator calling it in and saying that almost every main roads are blocked by the traffic.

This is getting so obvious. Someone is trying to cause trouble on the streets. It might not necessarily targeting us, but it is still troublesome as that will make it harder for us to get to the PRT.

I don't know much about the streets in this part of the city. Though I have explored some of the roads here on the empty alternates of this city, so I think there are some paths we can use.

Before I can do that though, I heard Miss Militia besides me talking to her comms, and then suddenly asking the driver in front of us to stop.

"Are you sure about that?"

Feeling curious about it, I decided to move the few remaining me's that are staying on the PRT HQ. I have become very familiar on this place, as I always use my alternates to explore around here.

-I got to the place where they do their oversights. Seeing a costumed hero telling them about things. Looking up, I see the whole map of Brockton Bay, and some sort of red circular areas, yellow circular areas, and green circular areas dotting the Downtown part of the city.

--"You can only take a detour to the Rose Street, and then take another at the Walls Venue." I heard the costumes hero, someone I recall as Triumph, saying that to the comms.

"Isn't that place a bit dangerous?" I heard Miss Militia muttering besides me.

-"Right.... the other heroes are there and is having a confrontation against some of the Empire Capes. Though, there are some open routes there that you can use so you won't get into the conflict zone."

"Okay." I tuned out most of what she is going to say, seeing that we are going to be driving to that area.

They said there is a conflict between the Empire and some of the Protectorate heroes there. I'll have to take care of that so nothing untoward happens to us.

With that thought, I quickly created at least ten thousand more alternates of this city and then move all of them to that place. Scouting ahead to take care of the crime itself.

Colin grunted once more as he jumps to the side. Letting the whirling blades of death pass by from his former position. After getting his bearings back, he quickly tries to point his halberd at the direction of the Empire Cape, and then slides the switch just a bit lower on his halberd.

A small compartment opens just below the back blade of his halberd, before it shoots a veritable mountain of yellowish white foam. The cape he is fighting, Hookwolf simply jumps to he side, and then charges at him with a renewed vigor.

The battle continues as he grunted once more. Feeling irritated at the current events happening on this city.

Since the day Coil has been captured, the Empire has become very bold. They are expanding a lot more aggressively, and are blatantly causing hate crimes against the Asians and people with a darker skin than them.

The ABB has been pretty active trying to fight back on the Docks, though it is getting a bit brutal. The other PRT branches are not giving any answers despite the Director of this PRT's Branch requesting for it.

Then they are also trying to take foot on the Downtown. Most of Coil's men and those who are known for being employed by him all vanishing, hiding somewhere they don't know.

'If that Poltergeist just didn't take Coil, this wouldn't have happened!' He thought to himself before shaking his head.

Regardless of what ifs, there is no use to dwell on that matter. They have to take care of the E88's blatant provocation against them. They are really going around and trying to do whatever they want.

They don't know what's the point of causing a commotion on this part of the neighborhood. It felt so pointless for them to have done this.

After another exchange, he manages to get some distance from Hookwolf.

Hookwolf seems to be feeling very excited as he goes and lunge at him. His body made of a rolling blades like a shredder spinning a bit faster as they try to get closer to him. Armsmaster is just thinking how to delay him more when his eyes widened after Hookwolf literally vanishes in his eyes.

"What?" He quickly looks around, before hearing a vibration from his ears.

"What's your status?"

"I'm fine. What's the problem?"

".... The Empire cape's and their goons suddenly vanishes. Did you see anything there?"

He widened his eyes for a brief moment at that fact, before immediately answering with a negative.

"... Is this a Poltergeist case?"

"If it is, then I am glad they are now moving."

"But... why now?"

Hearing his fellow hero, Assault, asking that in wonder. Colin can't help but also think about it for a bit.

Poltergeist is elusive. They are very mysterious. If he ever has a group or not, then they weren't even moving for the people's sake. Despite having an array of ability, they are not even moving to take care of the Empire.

There might be some reason why they are not doing it. Though they won't know without meeting them.

"... Armsmaster, Assault, Battery, this is Console. What's your status?"

"I'm fine. Hookwolf has vanished..."

The others also said their own reports, which is the same as his own. The one they are fighting just vanishes from their eyes.

"We got confirmation that Hookwolf and the other Capes along with him are contained in our maximum prison cells. The goons that are there has also been reported suddenly appearing within the prisons on some BBPD branches."

"Does that mean...?"

It can only be Poltergeist, or one of Poltergeist's assumed teammate, Flicker. The one they think who has the teleportation powers.

"Console, this is Miss Militia. We are nearing the conflict zone. Requesting for support."

"Miss Militia, this is the Console. You are cleared to move forward. The place is a green zone now..."

He tuned out the channel for the Console, and quickly decided to go back to his tinkertech bike.

'I recall Miss Militia and some of the PRT agents going to someone who is allegedly the mysterious Poltergeist.'

This is very mysterious. It can't be a coincidence for a Poltergeist case to happen at the same time that Miss Militia got closer to this part of the streets.

'He might not be the Poltergeist, but they might have a great connection to him!' He thought, before driving up to meet up with the others.

Sorry for not being able to update yesterday. Every drafts I've been writing has been lost because my old text editor decided that it's time it messes up, and I can't open it anymore. It also screwed me over and deleted all my progress from my other stories and project :(

I downloaded a new text editor on my phone, but it's a bit hard to use. Why does a text editor needs a text limit for it's file!?

Chapter 19: Lose-Lose Situation
We managed to get to the PRT HQ without anything happening anymore. After that, my Dad was taken somewhere while I was put on the waiting desk where I can see some of the crowds coming and going on the front.

This room seems to be near the gift shop just besides this building. So I can see some children here and there. I also noticed some of them staring at me for a moment before going on their way.

By the way, as Lacey didn't come along with us, a female PRT Agent is the one who is looking out for me. My Dad specifically asks them for that, as they think I have a weird mental disability.

-I made sure to lookout for my Dad. Currently one of me is looking at him sitting in one of the isolated room. I heard they call this the Conference Room.

--The one talking to him seems to be some higher up from this PRT Branch. Asking him whether he has any knowledge about Poltergeist, or affiliations with him.

--My Dad is honest obviously. He can't possibly know about what I am doing.

-Another me is on the other side of the room where a one sided viewing glass separates them from that room. I can see Armsmaster, and the PRT Director herself staying in that room and hearing what they are talking about.

--"... Are you sure that device you have is working?"

--"Yes Director. It's still in it's testing phase, but I am confident that this lie detector module is highly accurate at discerning lies."

--"And... what does the device said?"

--".... It's negative. Danny Hebert has no knowledge about the one we call Poltergeist."

--"And about the sudden movement from Poltergeist?"

--"It's possible that it was a coincidence..."

--"You sound unconfident."

--"I apologize Director. I also think that Poltergeist might be heavily related to that guy. I heard they mostly operate on the Dockworker's Union, which based on the files we have of him, is one of the Head of HR in there."

--"... Is it possible that one of his workers is Poltergeist?"

--"There's a high possibility that it might be the case."

--"What about his daughter?"

--"The operators already asked for the files.... and we got it just now. I'll be forwarding it to you."

My medical files? Why?

-".... It's a bust. It's impossible for her to be a Parahuman."

-"I see. Then that only means someone from the Union is the Poltergeist."

I don't know what they are looking for. My alternate saw them looking at the brain scans, though it's only a brain scan. Is there something in there I should know about?

I only heard rumors that Parahumans have something in their brains that acts as an indication that they have powers. I didn't really read into it deeply as I am more interested at the Capes themselves rather than where the powers originated.

As I was thinking like that...

-... I narrowed my eyes as I saw a skinny middle aged man clad head to toe with heavy duty equipment approaching the room, and then suddenly pointing a gun at my Dad.

Going back in time for a bit...

"The plan is going smoothly..." Thomas muttered to himself as he sits comfortably at his desk.

The plan he got from Accord is very detailed. It has contingencies upon contingencies in case of a variety of events.

He asked him to give him a plan that will get rid of Poltergeist. After giving him all the data he accrued for Poltergeist, along with Tattletale's testimonies, Accord gave him the plan that will make sure Poltergeist will leave Brockton Bay.

Yes, he only needs Poltergeist to leave Brockton Bay. It doesn't matter if they managed to kill him, or let him leave of his own will. So long as he is gone, Thomas can build up what he lose again. He can get another Thinker later.

The plan constitutes of revealing Poltergeist's civilian identity, and then pushing him to reveal his powers to the public. So long as this conditions were met, many events that will lead to Poltergeist leaving this city will be guaranteed.

It is why he even bought a tinkertech device just to take care of the traffic lights. He also made sure that it will only affect the specific route they will need, so they will be forced to the conflict zone where the Empire is going on their own rampage.

It's a way to push Danny Hebert to a conflict, and make him show that he truly is the Poltergeist that they are looking for. He will reveal to the world who is the elusive and mysterious Cape is.

His capabilities are a lot more potent than he was hoping for. Or maybe he truly has a mysterious team member who can teleport others.

Regardless, a lot of people are going to target him. Even if most won't believe the claims on the PHO, some stupid or daring people will go and take a hit on him. His life from now on will be in a constant state of danger if he didn't try and become a member of the Protectorate.

It's either holding onto his secret identity and hoping for the best, or he is forced to either leave the city or join the PRT. Regardless of the situation, those people won't just let Poltergeist stay on Brockton Bay. If he ever joins the PRT, he is confident that even the Chief Director of PRT will force him to transfer on another city.

That means he wins. Regardless of how much time he has to wait, Danny Hebert has been cornered by him!

He is feeling good about that. Feeling a sense of superiority against a foe that felt like a giant to his mind. He only needs to wait while Danny has to think of how he can prevent this.

He is just thinking of taking a break and getting a drink for himself when a paper suddenly fell on his desk. He widened his eyes when he saw the familiar symbol on that paper.

"..... Why now?" He muttered, feeling a bit nervous as he takes the paper and open it. As he reads it carefully, he can't help but feel a sweat sliding onto the side of his cheek.

"Shoot Danny Hebert to the head. This is the final favor."

He clutches the paper tightly, a vein protruding on his arm as he gritted his teeth.

'Why now? Why should I do this!?'

He hopes that some idiot go and do it in his stead, though the words written on that paper is straight to the point. He has to be the one to do it himself.

And based on the wording, he has to do this right now!

"....."

He tries to open another timeline within his mind, before standing up.

He walks straight to the armory for PRT Officers, managing to slip up from the others. After awhile, he is finally geared up to deal with Danny Hebert.

As he is doing that, he kept thinking about it. When he got to hallway leading to the conference room, he seems to have a realization about it.

'They want me to be the sacrifice! The one who will give proof that he truly is the Poltergeist!'

It is the only reason he can think of, and he abhors it greatly.

Though what can he do? He will die if he tries to deny the favor he owes from them!

As he hears the sound of alarm from the base, likely because they noticed him walking to the conference room without any prior notice, they seem to be going to detain him.

But he has to do it. Shoot Danny Hebert and prove that he is Poltergeist.

So he entered the room on both timelines. Intent on shooting him at the exact same time as his other counterpart.

He aimed and shoot at his head.

-He aimed and shoot at his head.

-He fell to the ground lifeless as h--!?

A large riot shield with a PRT logo appears suddenly in front of him. He didn't have enough time to process what is happening as he suddenly felt the pressure of a thousand weight from his body.

He fell on the floor with a grunt. His heavy duty armor now even helping him at all.

While all of that is happening, he can only see that Danny Hebert looking at him with a surprised look, the one talking to him also pointing their standard issued gun at him, and then the foam sprayers inside the room pointing at his direction.

'It's over.... because of them... everything I work for will be gone....'

He can only bitterly frown as he heard the sounds of footsteps coming at him. At the same time, he glares at Danny Hebert who is gawking at him with a surprised look.

Then he sneered, feeling in denial of this treatment.

If he can't defeat him, then he will just drag him down to his own downfall!

"I got you, Poltergeist! You're finally forced to show your hand! Hahahahaha!"

It is impossible to hide now. Danny Hebert is truly Poltergeist. It's impossible to immediately repel his gunshot unless he is that mysterious Cape himself.

He blinks for a moment, before he quickly finds himself within the confines of a jail. Though even if that happened, he already feels like he has won somehow.

He has paid his debt from that mysterious group, and also managed to unveil Poltergeist's true identity to the others. That alone will give him a satisfaction from this lose-lose situation.

'I'll get my revenge. After I managed to leave this prison, I'll make sure to take my revenge from both of you.... Poltergeist.... Cauldron!'

He swore on his heart.
