Veil of Realities (Worm/Altpower!Taylor)

I prefer the idea of both Coil and Tattle Tale being dropped a significant distance away from shore. You know, far enough to drown.

Tattle Tale gets redeemed far too often. Lets not forget she is willing to toss anyone else who is not her under the bus unless they specifically poke her own trigger.

How about the other possibility, Tattletale has given Coil the wrong name on purpose, to eliminate him without giving herself out.
I had not thought of that. Thank you for suggesting that possibility. I would still like confirmation from Lisa though and whether it was active sabotage or honest mistake. The distinction will probably determine whether she becomes Taylor's friend or Taylor's caretaker or worse.

And now I am curious if Taylor will use Doom style weapon or go Pandora style on the snake hunt.
If Tom hurts so much as a hair on Danny's head, Taylor carve the most brutally efficient path through his base to get her father back. And God help Tom if he hurt Danny beyond that, because God will be the only person who can save him.

Chapter 14: Assassinating my Dad?
These past three days, I am always having this strange Visions.

Well, it is happening sometimes on one of my Visions. Where instead of their alternate versions moving the same as the one on the Original World, these weird Visions are moving differently without my prompting.

Good thing I can simply dismiss those Visions, though it is getting a bit aggressive. I don't know what is happening. In my weird alternate vision, some heavily armed people are always approaching the vicinity of DWU.

By dismissing these visions, those events are not happening anywhere, not even on the Original World. I would have left it at that if not for today.

-My Dad was killed!

-I don't know how, but I only heard the window shattering, before a splatter of blood coated the walls of his office. A meaty thud resounding as the lifeless body of my Dad fell on the floor. My eyes widening in realization as I--

Remove that vision. Looking at my Dad and seeing that he is still there. Busily looking at the files, and the cases he wanted to use to bury the school and my bullies to the ground.

.... I might not know what is happening, but I am sure of one thing. Some Cape is trying to hurt my Dad!

This is the first time someone managed to interfere with my Vision, albeit only a single one. Well, actually, not really a single one. There are some people that are clearly Parahumans who can go to some Parallel Worlds that I can visit. Though they are not really interfering with me. Only this one who have a lot of mercenaries with him!

Now, I only know of one gang who have a lot of mercenaries with them.

Coil's Organization!

A mysterious gang who holds the majority of Downtown. They are known for employing some Parahumans, and heavily armed mercenaries. It is unknown if the leader have powers or not, though he is still considered a legitimate threat and one of the villainous group due to some suspected operations that deals with illegal weapon smuggling, or assassination jobs with their mercenaries.

That's what I know from the reports. It's not stated how many men does he have, or how many Parahumans are in his employ. Still, it's easy to pinpoint that he is the one doing this!

I wonder why he is attacking my Dad?

Well, doesn't matter. I don't need to know what his reason is. He is a villain, and he wanted to target my Dad!

I'll make sure he'll never try again!

That is why half of my total alternates were diverted to roam around Downtown. While some of my alternates are on some places where I can find some info about Coil's Organizations.

I separated these into two groups. The assault group, and the intel group. The assault group are those who will roam any areas where I think Coil's Organization is related, while the intel group are those who will roam through the internet, and every documents detailing that organization.

Which means some of my alternates are on the police station, mayor's house, internet cafe, library, PRT HQ from Downtown, and even the Protectorate HQ from Boardwalk.

They can't even see me because I am roaming the empty Alternate Version of these buildings. It doesn't affect the Original World, so I can freely mess around with this place without any repercussions.

-I flinched when I heard another distant gunshot. Hearing the short scream of my Dad, before looking at him. My eyes widening as I saw my Dad falling on the ground, a hole on his forehead....

That's the seventh time that happened. I quickly dismissed that vision. Trying to ignore that heavy feeling in my heart, everytime I am reminded of that horrible vision.

"-aylor! Taylor!"

Surprised, I look to the side with an effort, seeing Lacey nudging me in my shoulder. I tried to raise my eyebrow, though that movement too also takes an effort.

"What's happening? Your face is looking a bit weird.... don't you like the show?" She asks me with that worried look.

".... Nn." I would have said no, but I can only grunt. It's pretty hard to move my mouth and tongue right now due to the amount of Visions that are currently running with my power.

"Okay. I'll try to change it." She said, before taking the remote and then changing the channel.

.... Well, I am not really that concentrated on the show, so it doesn't matter if she changes the channel. I have to go back concentrating on my Visions.

Sorry for the short chapter. I am thinking how to start this one, and it ended up like this.

Sorry for my bad writing. It's really hard for me to see my mistakes when writing, and reading my own work. I can read this without seeing anything wrong with my story, even though I know it's actually bad to the others.

I know that's not enough reason.... but it's really hard for me to see my mistakes. I'm so sorry for not being good enough for this....

I hope you fun with the story. See you later!~♪

EDIT: I actually saw that it's not the Merchants who are the third well-known gang on Brockton Bay, it's Coil's Organization.

Intense 4-D Chess Tournament in progress

Thomas: Bullet to head
Taylor: Bullet to nowhere
Thomas: Bullet to head
Taylor: Bullet to ocean
Thomas: Bullet to head
Taylor: Bullet to tree
Thomas: Bullet to head
Taylor: My fist to your face

...You know with the mention of Tattletale I wonder if Taylor could do something like access an alt where what caused her to trigger never happened and where that might lead?

So something that I actually want to criticize about this story. Danny is a bit of a flop. In canon Taylor had no permanent injuries so I could understand his reluctance to push the school so hard. Here he thinks Taylor is retarded. He knows who did it too. Why isn't he sueing the school or convincing his fellow dock workers to murder Emma and Alan?

Because they're not worth being sent to prison for. Sheesh, so many bloodthirsty people in the Worm fandom.

Doesn't stop him from suing them to hell and back, though.

"There is a high chance that Poltergeist is the head himself, one named Danny Hebert."
This seems out of character for Lisa. Not that she got it wrong - that's entirely understandable. That she just handed the info to Coil without trying anything. Lisa knows that Poltergeist('s imaginary team) defeated Lung. Why isn't she contacting Danny to try and get rid of Mister Recruits at Gunpoint Coil?

I suppose if Lisa is having a good day she might have worked out who Poltergeist really is and come to the conclusion that telling Coil it is Danny instead is the best was of ensuring Coil meets a bad case of ultra violence. Again, though, this seems out of character. Lisa is no saint, but I don't see her risking getting a (not)random person's father assassinated for one of her plans.

Now maybe there is some way this all makes sense. If so I can only suggest one thing: Tattletale Interlude next, please.

That was my conclusion as well about the previous chapter. If she's looked at enough records to identify Danny as probably being Poltergeist, then her power would probably have enough info to identity Taylor as the real culprit. Not necessarily - as you pointed out, she's not infallible - but probably.

She doesnt know who is it exactly, but she more than likely figured out that they care about the DU, so her siccing Coil on Dany would surely put the man on collision course with Poltergeist.

As for the other thing, I can easily see Tats sacrificing someone else (especially someone she doesnt personally know) for her own survival. She is a massive arsehole if you dont happen to poke her own trigger..

I would think that Lisa would do some in person monitoring of Danny to be sure. Once she saw him, and possibly interacts with him, she'd know immediately that he's not Poltergeist. She'd also pick up that "daughter is in bad situation, ever since recent event" and possibly tie that to Taylor triggering.

I can't remember Lisa ever getting something this wrong in Worm Canon, and being so sure about it.

Chapter 15: A Bit Hard to Pinpoint
'I should have stayed at our hideout!' That is what Lisa is currently thinking as she was sitting on the chair, in a room with heavy concrete as walls and a steel-padded door as the only entrance. A bed, a single table, a chair, and a laptop is the only thing inside this room.

She has been stuck on this room for a week now. Having been called by Coil, only to be told to stay here until further notice. She easily managed to deduce that Coil is being stretched thin by someone, and it seems to affect his powers.

She knows what his powers is, he literally told that to her face and looking all smug as he did so. She can't even do anything about it because she knows that he will know whether she plans something against him.

Now she is here being used as an informer for him. She can't even lie because she knows he will try something bad at her.

She really hates him. So even if she was forced to stay here like this, she still wanted to at least get a win of some sorts against him.

Like say, talking smack whenever he calls her.

It's the only respite she have from being essentially caged in this room.

She looks at the time on the laptop before sighing. "Two hours before meal...." She muttered to herself. Still feeling a bit unused at this kind of treatment.

She is still a teenager, and only being able to eat two meals a day is a bit harsh for her.

She roams through the PHO, and looks at the latest things on the Dockworker's and reports about Poltergeist.

Poltergeist. The Cape she is definitely sure is the head of the Dockworker's Union. She managed to extrapolate a lot of things after reading the files, hacking through the available feeds from the limited security cameras there, and reading the history of the key personnels there.

It includes medical files, and a brain scan that he had taken some years ago after an accident involving a gang fight to check for any complications, which showed that he has the potential to trigger.

She reads about the medical files of his daughter, and managed to deduced that it might have been the reason he triggers. The girl essentially turned into a retard. Mostly becoming daze and stiff without any reason at all.

Even her powers seems to accept the hypothesis.

The remaining is the two others. Actually, there are one more. Though she didn't say anything.

Poltergeist is definitely Danny Hebert. As for Nightingale and the teleporter that PRT designated as Flicker, she thinks it's the caretaker of his daughter and the husband of that caretaker.

What she doesn't know is the mystery one. Those three can't possibly do something that the Poltergeist case claims. It's the Thinker ability.

They surely have someone planning behind their movements. A person who knows just the right button to push on a possibly dangerous Tinkertech. Someone who can plan for the Brockton Hospital Miracle. They can't do all of that with just a normal plan. They will be in danger in the former, and will be easily caught in the other.

Though she can't pinpoint who it is. There are two candidates. The person who usually helps Danny from his paperwork, or that mechanic they have who always take care of pipeworks. Those two usually talks to Danny in private. As for the Daughter, it's impossible for her to be one as she is literally disabled.

She saw the medical files. There are no Corona Pollentia in her brain so it is impossible. Even if she have one, she literally can't do anything as her medical files states she is always in a constant state of low brain activity that borders on being in a coma.

She has been stuck in this place for a week now, so while feeling really guilty about it, she hopes that Poltergeist's group managed to defeat Coil. She is betting her all on their mysterious Thinker and their potent capabilities.

Not here. Not here. Not here. Not here!

Dammit! I can't even find where can I find that Coil person!

I have gone through every building in the Boardwalk and the Downtown this whole day. Despite that, I didn't encounter any hint of their organization.

Well, I managed to hit some of their bases, but those are just small ones. Only five or seven of his men are there. I quickly apprehended them and then teleport them all to the Police Station by throwing their alternates to that place.

Though even if I used their phones to track them, it doesn't really say anything at all. Maybe because I just don't know how to use phones in general?

-I saw two vans rushing through the road, and then crashing on the wire gate to the Union. The workers around gawking together with me as the van drifts for a bit before stopping. The people within the van quickly sliding the door and getting into position. They pointed their rifles at the workers and then....

I dismissed that vision. One of my Alternates shaking her head to take that thought out of my mind.

PRT and Police barely have any info about the Coil's Organization. It's only known that it exists and they claim the Downtown as their territory. Anything else is a mystery.

..... Hmm, well I know where one of their Cape mercenaries lives. I think he is called Circus or whatever...

Maybe I should track Coil through him?

So I wrote this as a way to break my Writer's Block. This is why it is too short... sorry about this....

I will admit. All my plans about this were lost in my mind. The bare plans I wrote on my notepad doesn't make sense to me anymore. So I am just writing whatever.

Again... sorry for the lackluster chapter...

Misunderstandings abound. Understandable that they think that Danny is the one with power considering Taylor's state and her not having coronas.

Wouldn't that disprove Danny is a parahuman?

Because the sons and daughters of parahumans always have the ability to trigger. Even if that parent hadn't triggered yet the child can trigger, thats why QA was monitoring Taylor when it wanted to connect its main self to Danny, then it switched its main self to Taylor.

So it can be anyone except Danny (and Taylor)

Uh.... I think I didn't write enough, but I was implying that Danny have a Corona Pollentia in him, unlike Taylor.

Lisa wouldn't know that though right. (Thats why she doesn't know danny didn't trigger).

If Taylor can't trigger, then since powers go to descendants, it naturally means that Danny can't trigger unless taylor is a special exception (which is what is happening here but Lisa shouldn't be assuming that.)

So if Taylor doesn't have a Corona Pollentia at all, the logical conclusion, and what lisa's power would be telling her, is that Danny cannot trigger and doesn't have a Corona Pollentia either because it is passed down. Because the ability to trigger being given to descendants is known in worm-verse.

I think I am just really bad at implying things, but I think I tried to imply it on this sentence below.
reading the history of the key personnels there.
My thought when writing this specific sentence is that people might understand she includes anything that can be considered part of their history, including Danny's past medical records.

I'm sorry if I didn't managed to convey that clearly...
