Full disclosure that Shadell is a good friend of mine and I've been recruited to do beta work for the fic, but it is an amazing spin on a magical girl story while still remaining faithful to its roots thematically and character-wise, with incredibly endearing characters with complex motivations and characterizations that contain a good deal of nuance. I'll wait until the voting perioid to provide a like, full case for it, but I strongly recommend that people check it out- it was a Pick of the Month a bit back and that was entirely deserved; you can read it here, and if you haven't I strongly recommend giving it a shot before the voting period, whether you end up liking it or not.

The link is broken - it points to https://forums.sufficientvelocity.com/threads/draft-the-2023-users-choice-awards.124985/ , which I assume is an admin-only thread, as opposed to The 2023 User's Choice Awards , which is the actual thread. Because of this it doesn't open for me. I checked several other threads, and it's also broken there.
