Unprecedented Times [A Pokemon Ranger Quest]

Move Mishaps | [Insectlover243]
Part of me feels like I should apologize, throwing out omakes left and right when the thread chatter seems to naturally be dying down.

I didn't even really plan on this one to be honest. I just thought of funny situations that might occur due to certain moves being known by one of our Pokemon and I found myself typing some out despite myself.

Anywho, here's some attempts at comedy.

Aromatic Mist
-The user releases a potent, floral aroma into their surroundings, empowering the Special Defense of those who inhale it.

Teaching a Pokemon a new move could sometimes be quite the hurdle, what with having to find out how to get them to understand what you wanted them to do in the first place, sometimes having to coach your words and actions to facilitate this, and then repeating those directions until the switch was flipped, the correct aura was used and the move blossomed into life for the first time.

This process usually took longer than a Pokemon's patience would hold and sometimes there was nothing that could be done but clap your hands, reward your partner for all the hard work they had done and make do with whatever progress had been made for that day. It wasn't completely unheard of for some Trainers (or even Rangers) to take one look at this process and shake their heads, dedicating themselves and their Pokemon to mastering the moves they learned naturally (although it was rare to see such people reaching the upper echelons of their chosen career).

While you personally hadn't delved too deeply into teaching either of your Pokemon new moves, that wasn't to say that the subject had remained completely untouched, as B.B.'s access to moves like Bubble and Disarming Voice could attest to.

It was the latter that was currently coming to the forefront of your mind, as while the lack of friendly-fire inherent to the move was definitely a nice option to have (such as against an angry troop of Vigoroth for example), now that you were officially a trio, there were other Fairy-type options that could simultaneously swing a battle in your favor and potentially stop one of your Pokemon from being hurt.

Thus, you were currently standing a few feet away from B.B. as the Whismur repeatedly took deep breaths before exhaling in an attempt to infuse his breath with Fairy-type aura and blow it towards a waiting Urchin.

You couldn't help but feel like he was right on the threshold, the Whismur's body being shrouded by more and more pink aura with each consecutive breath.

"Mareanie..." Your attention was dragged away from B.B. taking in another deep breath by the sound of a rather impatient gurgle, your eyes quickly taking in the way Urchin was fidgeting and the displeased look on her face. It was clear to see that, while she had been fine with obeying your request at the start of all this, the Mareanie's patience was being sorely tested and you didn't think treats were going to keep her there for much longer.

Your thoughts were proven right a moment later when, after glancing back at B.B. one last time, the Mareanie audibly let out a small, watery huff and began to look around. It didn't take her long to find something in the surrounding park that demanded an inspection, the Mareanie shuffling away from the two of you as she let curiosity take the wheel.

This act apparently wasn't to go unaddressed however as B.B. took one look at the retreating Mareanie and, with brow furrowed in displeasure, let out his held breath in a long, purring hiss, pink mist flowing out of his mouth and quickly catching up to and surrounding the Brutal Star Pokemon. You caught the most relaxing scent of roses as it wafted by you, the very brief inhale causing your stance to relax despite yourself.

"Mareanie?" Urchin turned back towards the two of you as she found herself surrounded by the floral-scented mist, the Mareanie tilting her head as she observed the hanging mist around her before she opened her mouth and took in a deep breath, the Mareanie's usual method of taking in the scent of something.

The Mareanie shuddered for a moment, her entire body going still before she....flopped to the ground?

You blinked, half-tempted to rub your eyes as you witnessed Urchin go limp and fall forward into the grass, the Mareanie's tendrils splaying around her haphazardly.

You were just about to rush forward to make sure she was okay when the Mareanie let out a very prolonged hiss of pleasure, Urchin's eyes half-lidded (were her eyes always that pink?) as she wiggled there in her spot on the grass, the Mareanie letting out a sound like a boiling kettle that you had come to understand was her version of giggling as she rubbed her face up against the grass.

You knew that Aromatic Mist had a bit of a relaxing component due to its floral aroma but it seemed that, due to a Mareanie's unique version of scent-tracking where they gulped in a large amount of air in through their mouths, the move was almost super-effective in turning your usually-energetic Mareanie into a relaxed, giggling lump.

You chanced a glance back towards B.B. who seemed rather too happy with himself.

...You got the distinct impression you were going to have to train him not to use that move whenever Urchin's energy got too much for him.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Follow Me
-The user enshrouds themselves in Normal-type energy, becoming impossible to ignore or avoid and causing all attacks aimed at nearby allies to be redirected towards them

It had been a thought you'd had countless times after welcoming Urchin to the team; how could you best take advantage of the adorable crown-of-thorn's defensive prowess and make that a major issue of any Pokemon that tried to get in the way of your work?

The main hurdle was simply that, while she stood miles high in your heart, the fact of the matter was that Urchin was slow. She wasn't going to be outspeeding anything short of a Slakoth (although you had an idea or two there as well...) so getting herself between a Pokemon committed to attacking you or B.B. after repositioning herself for the first time was going to be an unscalable hurdle without either a lot of training or the right move used at the right moment.

Thankfully, after hours of research, there appeared to be one such move that would allow Urchin to do her job without her low speed becoming an issue and you quickly set both you and your Mareanie partner to the task of learning it.

It had taken much of the day to actually get the technique nailed down but, when you had next found yourself in danger that deemed the walking ball of spikes and poison you called your partner too troublesome to deal with and had fired off a quick ranged attack aimed right at your center-mass?

Well, it wasn't hard to grin with delight when you saw Urchin's eyes tracking the incoming projectile and she began to show that tell-tale glow of Normal-type energy that quickly caused her to become the center of attention.

There had been one slight issue however.

"MA-REA-NIE!" Your beloved Urchin had shouted out like a drill instructor ordering their troops to about-face, the attack aimed your way jittering unnaturally in the air as it curved and started heading for Urchin instead.

The Mareanie had seem so pleased to have the move work in live combat but you wouldn't soon forget the expression on her face when she had belatedly realized that the attack meant for you was now homing in on her face and was approaching quite rapidly.

Urchin had been fine of course, the attack not being anywhere near enough to seriously injure her or put her out of the fight before you and B.B. had wrapped things up but you did have to deal with the comedic look of betrayal that flashed across the Mareanie's face when you went to go and check on her.

Well, that and also feeding her a small mountain's worth of treats before she'd consider the two of you even and would cuddle back up to you.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ally Switch
-
The user teleports using a strange power, swapping places with one of its allies

...Okay, you'd fully take the blame for this one.

It had seemed so obvious in your head! What better way for B.B. to protect himself from being swarmed than by outright switching places with Urchin? The latter didn't need to be fast if she was effectively teleporting and the former's speed and ability to rapidly reposition himself meant, on paper at least, that the enemy could never be sure if they'd finally corner your bouncy little bunny or if it was a trap just waiting to be sprung!

The thought of yet another way to protect both of your Pokemon with one move had galvanized you and, after having spent an entire day teaching it to B.B., you had walked towards your next mission with a smile on your face and some pep in your step.

You hadn't even flinched when, while you were right in the middle of trying to clear out a collapsed powerline, a swarm of Joltik had descended on you and your team.

The tiny Bug-type Pokemon, though numerous, had made the bad decision of targeting B.B. after all and the command to swap places with Urchin had flown from your lips with a complete lack of hesitation.

Now, here you were, you and B.B. completely silent as you both stared at a rather bemused Urchin, the Mareanie's confusion undoubtedly having something to do with the swarm of Joltik currently unconscious and twitching at her nonexistent feet.

The Joltik, not expecting the swap, had been mid-pounce and, through sheer bad luck (and maybe you not having fully thought this idea through), had ended up slamming themselves into the bracing form of your poisonous spike-covered Mareanie. The shock of the swap, the piercing spines and the Mareanie's horrendous poison had quickly led to each and every one of them fainting.

...Did this count as a win? Staring down at the still-twitching Bug-types, you couldn't really say for sure.

It was going to be one hell of an experience though, trying to recount this tale to your superiors.

Move Mishaps 2 | [Insectlover243]
Fake Tears
- The user bursts into tears on command, lowering the Special Defense of nearby Pokemon by causing them to lower their guard.

You had created a monster.

It had been such a simple idea at first, teaching Fake Tears to one of your Pokemon. Urchin was more defensively focused than anything else, and leaned more towards the physical side of things when she did go on the offensive, but B.B. was a force to be reckoned with when he had a little bit of distance between him and his target, especially after he had evolved. Having the ability to lower an enemy's chances of resisting his attacks had seemed like a no-brainer.

The decision on who to teach the move to had been relatively simple as well, as Urchin's child-like demeanor and B.B.'s actual crying episodes (thankfully having become much less common over the years) had combined to make the former the obvious pick.

It actually hadn't even been that hard to teach Fake Tears to Urchin either! While it was a Dark-type move, Urchin's partial Water-typing seemed to make it easier for her to actually form the false tears and then it was just making sure Urchin had the proper mindset when she was actually using the move itself.

It was one thing to cry but it was a completely different thing to cry on demand with the express purpose of playing on an opponent's pity for your own gain.

It was just unfortunate for you that Urchin seemed to take inspiration from briefly adopting that Dark-type mindset for uses outside of battle.

You had just taken away a certain Smeargle doll away from the Mareanie due to a sudden onset of bad behavior, the Brutal Star Pokemon for some reason deciding that your pillow could serve as the perfect place for a spike-trap of all things. You had expected the Mareanie to sulk for a few moments, hopefully putting two and two together as to why doing such a thing merited having her beloved toy taken away, but once again Urchin had surprised you.

Instead of wiggling away to pout, the Mareanie had stared at you for a short moment, her eyes glancing between you and the doll in your hand as you stood over her with a displeased look on your face before something seemed to click in her brain and she had waddled over until she was sitting directly at your feet and then turned her face directly up at you.

Confused at the behavior, you had simply met Urchin's gaze. The mutual stare-down had held for a few moments before the Mareanie's eyes had started to noticeably grow wetter, your heart jumping into your throat despite yourself as you watched the Brutal Star Pokemon slowly begin to tear up in front of you.

"M-Mareanie?" Urchin had gurgled in a wetter-than-usual way, your heart sinking and your hands beginning to shake just a touch as you watched the tears begin to overflow and slide down the Mareanie's stalk in the most heart-rending display.

You knew what she was doing. You knew what she was doing because you were the one who taught that move to her.

As you stared down at your crying little ball of sunshine (fake fake fake, those tears were FAKE), Urchin's lip began to wobble and she began to shake, as if at any moment she was going to break out into full-on body-wracking sobs.

The hand holding the Smoopy doll shot forward before you could even think about it, the doll falling from your trembling fingers and landing right beside Urchin.

"Mareanie~!" Urchin purred as two of her tentacles wrapped around the doll, the tears and distraught body-language disappearing in a flash and leaving behind nothing but a happy Mareanie tugging her doll with her towards your bed.

You had felt both B.B.'s and Gretchin's eyes on you then, the two having been silently observing the entire time but, with cheeks burning a bright red at being so easily played, you had kept your head down. You couldn't have met anyone's gaze at that moment even if you had wanted to.

Heal Bell
- Generating a soothing chime and a pulse of energy, the user removes any status conditions from all allies in range.

Status conditions. From being poisoned, burnt and paralyzed to being forcefully put asleep or even frozen in-place, they could easily influence who would come out on top in any conflict. You had taken advantage of this fact a few times with a certain Mareanie's debilitating poison but it had struck you one night as you laid in bed that you didn't really have a way to prevent others from doing the same to you.

Well, that wasn't technically true. B.B. knowing Rest meant he could effectively swap out a pre-existing status condition for being asleep but you figured that, if you were in the middle of a fight and you were worried about B.B.'s safety, healing a condition and then leaving him asleep and helpless (albeit healed) wasn't exactly a situation you liked.

In came Heal Bell, a move that could both fit B.B.'s predilection towards sound-based techniques like a particularly soothing glove. You had grinned in delight upon finding both it and a few helpful tips on how to properly teach one's Pokemon how to use it and had immediately set out the following morning with a goal in mind.

There had been a slight hiccup at first as you had Urchin and B.B. stand a fair distance away from each other. You had ordered the former to fall asleep, the next best alternative to actually using Rest, and you were for once incredibly thankful for the Mareanie's rare lazy streak as it hadn't taken much more than some heated sand, the cooling splashing of the waves against her trunk and the warm sun overhead for the Brutal Star Pokemon to start nodding off.

The actual hiccup had been getting B.B. to use Heal Bell without waking up Urchin from the normal act of making sound over the move's soothing chime and pulse of aura. It had taken a few minutes of thought but eventually asking the Loudred to keep his voice as low as possible had seemed to be the winning strategy, as he could keep attempting to properly form the move without repeatedly waking Urchin up and having to wait until the Mareanie fell back asleep to try again.

It had taken most of the day but no one could say B.B. didn't have a knack for sonic moves, as to be expected of both a Loudred and your grumpy little man, when he had finally managed to release a sound that brought a giant bell to mind (albeit more pleasant to the ears then the normally giant crashing) and a visible wave of aura pulsed outwards from his body to match it.

The wave reached Urchin just as the sound seemed to, the aura briefly outlining the dozing Mareanie's form before she jolted awake. The Mareanie seemed to unnaturally jump from dead asleep to conscious and brimming with energy in mere moments, the move seemingly energizing its target and removing that brief bit of heaviness and weight one felt after sleeping for an extended period.

At the time, you had been elated by B.B.'s success and had been turning to both congratulate him and hand over a chunk of Iapapa Berry prepared ahead of time. It was because of this that you hadn't noticed Urchin's displeasure at seemingly having her sleep interrupted.

"Mar-eanie!" Urchin had barked at B.B., the noise having caught your attention mid-turn. You had glanced back to see the Brutal Star Pokemon pouting and slapping the sand with a few of her tendrils, her eyes glaring at the Loudred standing next to you before she had audibly huffed and rolled over to lie back on the sand, the back of her stalk pointedly facing the two of you.

Glancing back at your starter, the Loudred hadn't seemed at all impressed by the Mareanie's small tantrum and had turned to stare in your direction.

It was due to your brief moment of confusion and some small surprise that you hadn't reacted to his stare and, apparently taking your silence and lack of treat as admission that the training hadn't yet ended, B.B. had seemingly shrugged and turned back towards Urchin.

The Loudred hadn't hesitated in letting out another melodious chime and pulse of aura that quickly washed over Urchin once more.

"Mar-ean-ie!"You weren't sure if the Mareanie had even had the time to fall back asleep but it seemed like she wasn't happy about being interrupted again regardless as, with a loud, irritated bark, she sprung up out of the sand and stared daggers at her fellow teammate once again.

"Loud."

You had blinked as you suddenly found yourself watching the two Pokemon argue, the Mareanie slapping her tendrils and all but dancing in almost cartoonish indignation while B.B. seemed just about done with any and all social interaction for the day, the Loudred's eyes half-lidded in exasperation as he found himself the target of a complaining Urchin.

As you watched, a part of you couldn't help but wonder if anyone else ran into these kind of situations or if you had just been born under some kind of particularly unlucky star or something.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Helping Hand
- The user touches the target and transfers some of their energy, empowering the target's next move.

It was with a grin of delight that Kylie watched a tree tumble to the ground, its upper-half crashing to the ground as the lower-half was pulped into pieces barely larger than woodchips.

Watching B.B. explore the raw power his evolution had granted him had been an eye-opening experience already but the memories of Penelope Hart's pack of Smeargles had had Kylie itching for a day free of any distractions, a day that could be aimed at a single goal: teaching Urchin Helping Hand.

She had seen how the small pack of Smeargle had used the move to great effect, one Pokemon supporting the others and amplifying their moves to new heights and immediately her mind had jumped to just how she might be able to do that as well with her own team.

B.B. was already a considerable opponent with the power his new form had given him and the presence of Echoed Voice meant that, if an opponent left him alone for too long, they'd swiftly come to regret it. It thus seemed natural for the teaching opportunity to fall on Urchin, letting her cheerfully lend a helping hand (the action, not the move) with Helping Hand (the move, not the action) to quicken that time-table and help B.B. briefly hit even harder than he normally could.

It might've been a bit much but no, she couldn't help herself from grinning as she watched B.B. and Urchin stare at the felled tree, the Loudred seemingly shocked at just how potent a small touch from Urchin had proven and the Mareanie slapping the ground in delight at having finally performing the move.

Urchin might've also been dancing in reaction to seeing just how much damage she had inadvertently caused with her support of the Big Voice Pokemon by her side but, considering just how elated Kylie herself felt at the moment, she wasn't about to make a big deal out of exactly why the Mareanie was so happy.

"Mar!" Urchin barked as she waddled forward and once again gently slapped her tendril against B.B.'s stomach, the Mareanie pointedly keeping the spiked tip tucked inwards as aura visibly raced down her tendril and sunk into the Loudred's form.

Glancing downwards for a moment at the Mareanie as his body visually surged with aura, B.B. seemed to realize his teammate wanted a repeat performance and, with the corners of his mouth turning upwards slightly in what might've been an actual smile, the Loudred turned towards another nearby tree and let loose with a quick Bubble.

A swarm of bubbles quickly shot out of the Loudred's mouth, each and every one shining and filled with what seemed like Normal-type energy as the surged away from B.B. and towards their target.

When they touched the tree's rough bark, they popped with the signature, cut-off roar of an enraged Loudred, each bubble taking a massive chunk out of the tree as they popped and released their explosive burst of noise.

It took maybe two or three bubbles out of the large swarm before the tree started to fall, its trunk riddled with holes large enough for Kylie to fit both fists into, a far departure from B.B.'s first usage of the move which had only stripped a tree of its bark.

Kylie made sure that the first noise her Pokemon could hear after the sound of the tree crashing to the ground had faded was the sounds of her hands clapping together in excitement, the trainer all but beaming at her Pokemon as she did so.

B.B. seemed to let out a low, pleased grumble of a hum at the sound of her clapping, the Big Voice Pokemon seemingly rather pleased with himself at the show of power and the sound of her admiration.

The sound of clapping, just starting to fade out as Kylie slowed her hands was soon joined by a shlack, shlack, shlack, as if someone was taking a wet pool noodle and slapping it against the side of a building.

Kylie and B.B. paused at the sound before, as one, they stared down at where the new sound was coming from.

Urchin, having watched the second tree fall just as she had the first one and both seen and heard Kylie clapping in response, seemed like she wanted to join in on congratulating the Big Voice Pokemon and had chosen to do so by lightly and repeatedly slapping her tendrils against the Loudred's leathery hide.

Trainer and Pokemon alike watched as Urchin happily wiggled side to side as she slapped at the Loudred's stomach like a drum, her eyes completely closed with happiness and the Mareanie gurgling up a storm.

Kylie didn't even try to stop the smile from spreading across her face, nor from letting it grow all the wider when B.B. seemed to glance in her direction with his arms awkwardly hovering above Urchin but not making a single move to either pull her closer or push her away.

It seemed, if anything, that the Loudred was a little embarrassed by the Mareanie's praise and raw display of affection and was looking to her for guidance.

Kylie didn't hesitate in doubling down on her clapping, shooting the panicking Loudred a toothy grin as, with another watery gurgle, Urchin soon met her pace, her tendrils still lightly slapping away at his stomach.

A chuckle left Kylie's mouth as she watched the Loudred turn his head away so he was staring out across the sea instead of at either her or Urchin, his new form's lack of fur meaning that Kylie's keen eyes were more than able to see the way her starter seemed to actually be blushing a bit at the rampant praise.

Cute. Her Pokemon were simply far too cute.

Awkward Evolutionary Traits | [kamkong]
Hahahaha. They all said I couldn't finish this in time (they being myself). It tried to subvert me with an interesting new idea I wouldn't finish in time (it was me). But I did it, before the clock has turned into the final day (and if there are any errors from my frantic finish, please let me know so I can correct them). Enjoy this omake, inspired by @Insectlover243 "Move Mishaps" omakes and how @OxfordOctopus showed that the Evolution bonus trait can be affected by what moves we choose to learn.

Awkward Evolutionary Traits
Part 1
"B.B.! Use Growth!" Kylie shouted at her Loudred, who responded in kind.

"LOUDRED!" He cried out as white light erupted and coated his entire body, sinking into his flesh and causing it to bulge outwards by several inches, with his skin suffused with a pearlescent sheen. Sneering at his opponent, whom B.B. could now ever-so-slightly look down upon, a whistling sound began to strengthen as B.B. inhaled for his next move. "LOUD!!!"

<Timeskip>

This was bad. A vicious Ursaring had caught Kylie and her partners off guard, hitting them all with an Earthquake that had left her ankles throbbing, leaving her unable to run. Urchin had been completely knocked out and withdrawn, while B.B. had managed to withstand the attack but was now struggling to defend Kylie from the aggressive bear. Kylie screamed his name as a Brick Break violently drove B.B. back, a panicked look in his face as he looked back at Kylie. Looking at Kylie, seeing her fear and concern, the panic faded and a fierce look of determination set in.

B.B. planted his feet, raised his arms, and screamed as a blinding light overtook his form. Kylie could only watch in awe as both the sound of his voice and the shape of his body began to warp and change. Her awe quickly elevated to stunned incredulity as her shining partner grew and grew and grew. When the light finally vanished, her first sight was a blue back so massive that Kylie could not see around it to the Ursaring. She could still hear it roaring in outrage at B.B., but that sound was swiftly cut off by a series of rising whistles as the newly-formed tubes on B.B.'s body sucked in air as he reared his head back. Amazingly, when he brought down his head and unleashed his sonic attack, Kylie heard absolutely nothing from it. She could, however, hear a distorted scream of pain from the Ursaring, followed by loud crashing noises.

B.B. straightened and turned around, letting Kylie see the massive circular hole that had been blasted into the forest, shattered trees stretching back so deep she could not see where they ended, and absolutely no trace of the Ursaring. Looking up into her partners face, Kylie could only shiver with emotion at just how far she had to look up to do so, even given she was on the ground. A frown was set on B.B.'s face as her looked down on her, before a spark of something entered his eyes and his expression softened. With a comforting hum, B.B. gently reached down and lifted Kylie off the ground with his arms, stretched out his shoulder in a way Kylie had done for years, and delicately placed Kylie onto his shoulder, softly rubbing the side of his head into her entire body.
Repeated usage of the move Growth has etched a pattern into B.B.'s Aura, and when catalyzed by his Evolution has taken him to a size that is literally record-breaking.
B.B.has tripled his previous height as a Loudred, and his girth has expanded in kind. He now towers over Kylie, other humans, and the majority of Pokemon. Like the Alphas of Old, B.B. now emits a presence resembling Intimidate that other Pokemon respond to, for good or ill.

Part 2
"B.B.! Use Minimize!" Kylie shouted at the Loudred, who responded in kind.

"LOUDRED!" He cried out as white light erupted and coated his entire body, sinking into his flesh and causing it to compress inwards by several inches, with his skin becoming hazy and indistinct in appearance. The Ninjask they had been fighting swept in for another attack, its claws wreathed in the pale green of Bug-type Aura. However, this time the attack seemed to slide off of B.B.'s body like it was frictionless. B.B., being unaffected by the move, took the opportunity to blast the Ninjask at point blank range, sending it rocketing back and leaving it disoriented and wheeling around in the air.

<Timeskip>

Kylie happily watched as B.B. finished his meal, smiled up at her, and accepted her head rubs as his due. He then stepped back from her as a brilliant light shone from his body. A wide smile stretched across Kylie's face as her beloved Pokemon began evolving into an Exploud with absolutely no duress tainting the experience. However, her smile became strained when she noticed something odd. Instead of the shining form of her partner expanding out and up, it was instead compressing down and in. When the light of evolution faded, her smile had stopped altogether due to her jaw dropping in sheer disbelief.

B.B. had become a Exploud, and by the form of his body was an sterling example of the species. Except for the fact that he was the same size he had been when he was a Whismur. B.B. looked over his new body, and then looked up at Kylie in the same way he had as a Whismur. An expression of joy crossed his face before he tensed his legs and hopped into the air. Slightly-dusty instincts had Kylie automatically bracing her legs, rolling her shoulder out and up, and tilting her head to the side to make room for her Pokemon. Much as he had many times before, B.B. came down on Kylie's shoulder to get himself some rubs. Unlike his previous shoulder hops, this time the impact to Kylie's shoulder was so intense she briefly though her shoulder had dislocated and it was only her braced posture that kept her from tumbling over completely, although she did end up flailing around with B.B. clutching her hair. Barely managing to stabilize herself and straighten up, Kylie gave a weak smile over her aching shoulder as her partner made happy noises and rubbed up against her cheek, internally pledging to start up some more aggressive arm and shoulder exercises as soon as possible.
Repeated usage of the move Minimize has etched a pattern into B.B.'s Aura, and when catalyzed by his Evolution has literally reversed all of his growth.
B.B. has returned to the same dimensions he had as a Whismur, except for his density, which makes him far heavier than when he actually was a Whismur. B.B.'s reduced size alongside his evolved sonic control makes him incredibly steathy, and a majority of Pokemon and humans will simply not notice him until he performs an action.

Part 3
Kylie smiled excitedly as light bloomed from B.B.'s form. She was happy that this evolution was occurring during one of her breaks from missions, and that her friends were also present to enjoy this moment alongside her. The glowing form of her partner shifted, grew, and then emerged from the light an Exploud. Looking him over, Kylie compared him to her mental image of an Exploud she'd made with her research, and found him only slightly larger than average. However, there was something else that was different about B.B.

"Um, this isn't a dig or anything, but does B.B. look sort of, I don't know, air-brushed to you?" Gretchen questioned hesitantly, looking over at B.B. with her head tilted.

"No, you're right," Suzume added, also squinting over at B.B. "He's really glossy compared to other Exploud's I've seen. Any ideas Kylie?"

Kylie was about to respond when a loud "Chiirrrrrrr!" filled the air. Tracing the sound found it coming from a very energized Sentinel emerging from her usual spot behind Suzume's legs, the noise rising and falling from her throat while she began walking towards B.B. with her head tilted straight up and her arms spread wide, greatly exposing her belly. Then, Kylie's nose caught a whiff of something that her brain translated as "spicy honey," with this new sensation being traceable to Glow, whom was steadily jittering in place and releasing a shiny powder from her fur.

Both Suzume and Gretchen flushed bright red and quickly used their Pokeballs to withdraw their partners. Kylie swung her head between them inquisitively, before her brain spat out an explanation for Sentinel;s behaviour from her knowledge of Sandshrew, and she also began to blush.

"Mar!" A happy sound came from a squirming bundle of tendrils as Urchin jogged up to B.B., her big eyes dewy as she took in his new form with a big smile on her face. Kylie was about to pull out Urchin's ball before something awkward happened when, "Mareanie!" Urchin wrapped herself around B.B.'s arm, just as she had done when he had evolved into a Loudred. B.B. response was the same as before, a disgruntled noise growling out as he began violently shaking his arm to dislodge the now-shrieking starfish.

Breathing out a sigh of relief, Kylie returned the Pokeball to her pocket. "That forum article was right," she commented, "it really is a very enviable trait to have." as she strode forward to separate her two partners from each other.
Repeated usage of the move Attract has etched a pattern into B.B.'s Aura, and when catalyzed by his Evolution has resulted in an interesting result.
B.B. now naturally has a presence that Pokemon of the opposite gender find seductive, and thus in most cases will be more inclined to respond favourably, although depending on the species there still can be violence. However, members of the same gender will view him as a rival and will act accordingly, regardless of what B.B.'s intentions actually are.

The Magnemite Line: Masters of Magnetism

HGC

Pokedex Entries: Magnemite: #081, Magneton: #082, Magnezone: #462

Herein is a comprehensive field guide entry on the Magnemite evolutionary line, detailing their physical characteristics, behavioral patterns, and ecological significance. These electrically charged Pokémon play a unique role in industrial and natural ecosystems alike, often appearing near sources of electromagnetic energy. Trainers and researchers should be cautious when approaching them, as their high-voltage emissions can be hazardous.

Magnemite: The Floating Dynamo

Magnemite is a small, levitating Pokémon composed of metallic components and powerful electromagnets. It generates electromagnetic fields to hover in the air, using these forces to adjust its altitude and direction. These magnetic forces are also the source of its electrical attacks, which can be highly disruptive to unshielded electronics.

Magnemite is often found near power plants, radio towers, and industrial zones where electrical energy is abundant. However, natural occurrences of wild Magnemite have been documented in areas with strong geomagnetic activity, such as mountainous regions rich in iron deposits.

Despite its inorganic appearance, Magnemite is a fully living Pokémon that requires electricity as sustenance. During blackouts, groups of Magnemite have been known to drain backup generators, leading to further power disruptions. Trainers must take care to maintain a steady electrical supply to keep their Magnemite healthy and prevent it from seeking power elsewhere.

Magneton: The Synchronized Trio

Upon evolution, three Magnemite merge into a single entity known as Magneton. The individual units are bound together by intensified electromagnetic fields, allowing them to act in unison. This synchronized behavior makes Magneton a formidable opponent, capable of unleashing devastating electric discharges.

Magneton's presence often causes interference with radio signals and electronic devices, making it a nuisance in urban environments. During periods of heightened solar activity, wild Magneton have been observed gathering in large clusters, amplifying their magnetic emissions and causing localized geomagnetic disturbances.

Due to the intensity of its electromagnetic fields, prolonged exposure to Magneton can induce dizziness and disorientation in humans and Pokémon alike. Researchers studying Magneton in the field must wear protective gear to shield themselves from its effects.

Magnezone: The Electromagnetic Enforcer

The final stage of Magnemite's evolution occurs under strong electromagnetic conditions, resulting in Magnezone. This Pokémon is larger and more stable than its predecessors, with its magnetic forces refined to a near-perfect degree. Magnezone is capable of emitting electromagnetic pulses powerful enough to disable entire power grids.

Magnezone exhibits an eerie intelligence, responding to radio waves and seemingly understanding complex signals. Some speculate that Magnezone is capable of receiving and interpreting satellite communications, though this remains unproven.

Despite its intimidating capabilities, Magnezone is rarely aggressive unless provoked. However, wild Magnezone sightings often coincide with reports of malfunctioning electronics and compasses spinning erratically. Trainers hoping to capture one must ensure they are well-insulated against electromagnetic interference.

Conclusion: The Power of Electromagnetism

The Magnemite evolutionary line exemplifies the intricate relationship between Pokémon and electromagnetic forces. From the small and energy-dependent Magnemite to the synchronized power of Magneton, and finally to the highly intelligent and formidable Magnezone, this lineage showcases the potential of electricity as both a force of nature and a tool of industry.

These Pokémon are both a marvel and a challenge for researchers and trainers alike, as their presence can greatly influence technological environments. While their high-voltage emissions and disruptive magnetic fields can be hazardous, those who learn to harness their abilities will find themselves with powerful allies capable of overwhelming even the most resilient opponents.

As technology continues to evolve, so too may the role of these electrically charged Pokémon, solidifying their place as an indispensable part of both urban and natural ecosystems.
