Frisk: "Actually Papyrus, I would very much like to know more about magic and how it works, seeing as I am just a human with none of that on my side I should at least know how it works right?"
PAPYRUS: "I SUPPOSE..BUT WAIT HOW DO I KNOW THAT THIS ISN'T A TRAP."
Frisk: "well you see papyrus, if I wanted to trap you and beat you at your own game, I would've tried to well trick you in a more conventional manner, or puzzle you. This is is an honest ask for help. I do want to know what I'll be fighting against. And you're the friendliest monster who knows who I am. I would be honored to learn from you."

You decide to go and save before going over to talk with Papyrus.
PAPYRUS: "AH, HUMAN. ARE YOU READY FOR YOUR FIRST LESSON IN MAGIC?
Frisk: "Yeah, I don't want to go ahead without knowing what I'm dealing with so-"
PAPYRUS: "SAY NO MORE HUMAN. FOLLOW ME AND I'LL TAKE YOU TO YOUR PLACE OF EDUCATION!"
Frisk: "Alright Papyrus lead the way."
With that papyrus leads you over to a shed that he knocks on the door to.
sans: "what's the password?"
PAPYRUS: "SANS...I'M NOT SAYING IT."
sans: "but bro i worked hard on it."
PAPYRUS: "FINE...IT'S..*SIGH OF LONG SUFFERING*"
Would be all the warning you would get before he would begin to half heartedly say.
PAPYRUS: "MY NAME IS MR BONES, AND I WOULD LOVE TO ENTER YOUR WILD RIDE."
Frisk: "Pfft what?"
Chara elbows you, making it easier to hold in the laughter through the pain.
Chara: "Don't laugh, Sans is already doing enough of that."
Frisk: (Alright Chara.) "So uh..now what? was what I meant to say."
After a while the door opens up to reveal Sans wiping off a tear away from his eyesocket. to an annoyed Papyrus's relief as he ushered you and himself inside.
PAPYRUS: "ALRIGHT , HUMAN WELCOME TO THE SHED! WHERE WE WILL BE TEACHING YOU THE BASICS OF MAGIC AND HOW TO USE IT. WE WERE GOING TO USE THIS TO HOLD YOU WHEN THE CAPTURE HAPPENED, BUT A TEACHER DOESN'T CAPTURE HIS STUDENT. NOW BEFORE WE START , TELL ME WHAT YOU KNOW ABOUT MAGIC AND WE'LL GO ON FROM THEIR. ALSO WOULD YOU MIND TELLING US YOUR NAME? WE COULD USE THAT SO WHEN COMPARING YOU TO OTHER HUMANS I DON'T GET CONFUSED."
Frisk: "Well my name is Frisk and as for what I know about magic, monsters are made of it, and can shape it to their will, intent and will matters a lot when it comes to magic. And...no that's about it."
PAPYRUS: "AH, GOOD, YOU ALREADY KNOW THE BASICS, SO I SUPPOSE ALL THAT'S LEFT TO TEACH YOU IS JUST HOW WILL AND INTENT AFFECTS MAGIC AND MONSTERS, THEN WE MOVE ON TO LATENT MAGIC, THE STUFF THE PERMEATES THE AIR AROUND US, MAKING THESE ATTACKS AND SPELLS HAPPEN. WHAT DO YOU WANT TO START OFF WITH FIRST?"
Frisk: "I suppose we should go over Latent magic then, since I can't do magic I want to know more about what others can do when it surrounds me."
sans: "good choice kid, i suppose there's no need to hide what we're working on now. bro should i go grab them."
PAPYRUS: "GO ON AHEAD SANS, I'LL TELL THE HUMAN MORE ABOUT LATENT MAGIC, AND WHAT IT IS."
with a nod, Sans exits the shed by, going through some weird temporary tear in the wall which closed behind itself. as Papyrus put on a labcoat and glasses.
PAPYRUS: "ALRIGHT FRISK, LATENT MAGIC IS THE TYPE OF MAGIC THAT SURROUNDS US ALWAYS AND ALWAYS, IT'S WHAT WE CALL UPON WHEN WE DO OUR MAGIC ATTACKS, AND THE MORE OF IT IN AN AREA THE BIGGER AND BETTER ATTACKS CAN BE DONE. AS A HUMAN YOU WOULD HAVE NO WAY OF KNOWING THIS BUT THE UNDERGROUND FOR ALL OF IT'S FAULTS HAS THE BIGGEST AMOUNT OF LATENT MAGIC THAN ANYWHERE ELSE IN THE WORLD, IT'S SO MUCH THAT IT'S ENTERED THE LIST OF ONE OF THE BEST WAYS TO BREAK THE BARRIER IF WE CAN'T GET THE REST OF THE SOULS. ANYWAYS HOW MAGIC ATTACKS WORK IS BY GATHERING THE MAGICAL ENERGY IN THE AIR NOW TURN YOUR ATTENTION TO THE BLACKBOARD."
He pulls up a big Blackboard and begins to draw on it, ending up with two stick figures. one Labeled Frisk, the other labeled Monster.
PAPYRUS: "NOW HUMAN, A MONSTER CAN NORMALLY CREATE ATTACKS NEAR THEM AND THEN THROW THEM. BUT WELL TRAINED MONSTERS CAN CREATE ATTACKS A GOOD DISTANCE AHEAD, ABOVE, OR BEHIND THEM AND FIRE IT AT YOU. SO STRICTLY SPEAKING, DISTANCE IS A GOOD WAY TO DEAL WITH MOST ATTACKS. HOWEVER IN 1/10 TIMES YOU ENCOUNTER A MONSTER SO SKILLED IN MAGIC CONTROL THAT THEY CAN MANIFEST ATTACKS RIGHT ONTOP OF YOU OR ANYWHERE ELSE IN THEIR LINE OF SIGHT. SO DISTANCE MAY NOT ALWAYS HELP."

PAPYRUS: YOU SEE, SUPPOSEDLY THERE ONCE WAS A UNKNOWN SCIENTST, SOMEONE WHO DESPITE NOBODY HEARING OF THEM DID SOME PRETTY GREAT THINGS LIKE SUPPOSEDLY CREATE THE CORE, OR MORE LIKELY THE CORE BLUEPRINTS, BUT UP UNTIL NOW NOBODY EVER REALLY NOTICED THAT WE DON'T KNOW WHO BUILT THE CORE. ANYWAYS SKIPPING OVER SOME BORING STUFF, MY BROTHER WHO WAS IN THE PAST AN AVID CONSPIRACY CHASER WHICH ADMITTEDLY WASN'T THAT GOOD OF A PROFESSION BUT AT LEAST HE WAS MORE PASSIONATE ABOUT IT, WENT EXPLORING INTO THE LABS SECRET UNDERSIDE AREA WHERE HE FOUND SOMETHING CALLED ASTER BLASTERS. THOSE THINGS WERE SUPPOSEDLY HIS LINK TO THIS MYSTERIOUS SCIENTIST GUY. AND FROM WHAT I HEARD BOTH THE SCIENTIFIC AND CONSPIRACY COMMUNITIES WENT CRAZY AFTER THAT DISCOVERY."

As if one cue sans comes in wheeling a small looking white blaster of a sort.
sans: "here we are, one functional if not at 100% gaster blaster. may i explain how it works?"
Frisk: "Go ahead."
PAPYRUS: "YEAH ALRIGHT."
sans: "alright, so how this works is simple, it scans an area for magical energy it then absorbs it at your command, it will also fire it at your command. if used correctly, you can have this think drink up an enemy attack before their fully formed."
Frisk: "alright but uh, how do I command it."
sans: "oh that's simple. you synch it up to your soul. true it was originally meant for monster souls but uh hey, nothing a few quick modifications couldn't solve right?"

Interlude 1: Professor Papyrus's Magic lesson: Part two

sans: "alright kid hold this."
Said Sans as he handed you the Blaster.
sans: "now you'll feel a bit weird as the thing starts up, that's normal, however if you see any weird symbols above it or see anything in the Aster font, or hear a voice in your head, feel free to hit it. that's usually enough to get it to stop doing whatever weird sh-stuff it's doing and return to normal."
Frisk: "Okay, but why though? if it talks shouldn't we listen?"
Sans would explain as he pressed a button
sans: "here's the thing though, they aren't supposed to do that. These things were built with simplistic AI's unlike MTT, or at least that's what I got when I first found the blueprints with them. and I know that me and the others who discovered it didn't improve on that, we couldn't if we tried. part of the code it runs on are these weird symbols and some of it is Aster, sometimes chained together. So unless the guy made some last minute arrangements to them before falling into obscurity, it's probably a glitch or a magical anomaly. Hence the occasional smack when it starts acting up. now just to clarify, it does have a butler mode and it can speak with the speakers installed into it, mainly short sentences and all of them inquiring about your wants and needs. it's only when it becomes mental and/or you start to see things is when it becomes a problem."
As he spoke the Blaster would start to beep and float out of your grasp a bit as you start to feel weird, this is probably the soul synchronization he was talking about.
Frisk: "They aren't supposed to do that? then what's the harm in listening to them?"
PAPYRUS: "SANS ALLOW ME TO EXPLAIN THIS ONE."
sans: "take it away, bro."
PAPYRUS: "YOU SEE HUMAN, THE LAST ONE TO LISTEN TO THESE BLASTER VOICES ENDED UP DOING...SOMETHING TO THE CORE. NOBODY IS SURE WHAT HE DID EXACTLY, BUT HE WAS ARRESTED SOON AFTER AND EVEN SOONER AFTER THAT, THE CORE STARTED TO BOTH PRODUCE MORE ENERGY AND OVERHEAT FASTER MEANING THAT THE OLD WAY OF COOLING IT DOWN HAD TO BE IMPLEMENTED WITH THE NEW WAY, MR. ICE WOLF OUTSIDE. NEEDLESS TO SAY LISTENING TO THOSE THINGS ARE EITHER A PATHWAY TO MADNESS, OR A GOOD WAY TO END UP LEARNING WHATEVER THAT GUY KNEW. OR BOTH. OR MAYBE THAT ONE GUY IN PARTICULAR WAS JUST CRAZY. NO MATTER WHAT I REALLY DON'T LIKE IT."
Frisk: "Ah, I see. So in the case of it trying to communicate with me mentally or visually just hit it?"
PAPYRUS: "PRETTY MUCH, YES."
sans: "that's how I deal with my one if it starts to glitch."
Frisk: "Good to know....on a uh, lighter topic, does this one have a name?"
sans: "nah, we figured that you should have the honor of naming it."
At this Papyrus would nod and they both looked at you expectantly as you looked for a word in your head.
Chara: "You know partner? maybe you should've asked me before linking us up with a potentially dangerous weapon. but I digress, name it Oz and I'll be satisfied."
Frisk: (Alright Chara, I can do that.) "How about Oz?"
sans: "oz huh? short and sweet, i like it."
PAPYRUS: "I'M NOT SURE ABOUT THAT FRISK OZ IS...A FINE NAME REALLY, BUT IT LACKS THAT NAMING YOUR WEAPON PIZZAZZ THAT ALL THE COOL ONES HAVE, EVEN THOSE JAPANESE BABY SHOWS GET THAT PART RIGHT. BUT IF THAT'S WHAT YOU WANT TO GO WITH, THEN IT'S FINE BY ME."
Frisk: "Alright then, Oz it is."
Chara: "Thank you."
With the naming done you feel your soul vibrate a bit, which is very unpleasant as it makes your physical feel that as well, then you hear a ding happen as the Blaster dings as well and looks at you, apparently expecting something.
Oz: "Please tell me your name Master."
It would say in a vaguely british accent
Frisk: "Alright, call me Frisk."
Oz: "Affirmative Master Frisk. I am awaiting orders."
Frisk: "Oh uh, stay on standby and stay near me, I may need you later. Okay?"
Oz: "Affirmative."
With that the blaster started to float around you on standby, mainly behind your shoulder.
sans: "alright kid, what do you think, wanna play with your new toy a bit? or do you want to continue."
PAPYRUS: "I SUGGEST GAINING AT LEAST SOME MASTERY OVER THAT BLASTER BEFORE WE CONTINUE."
Well it seems like the two want to test this thing out, and to be honest, so do you, a little bit. then something bad happens you hear a decidedly not british, creepy, and semi distorted voice in your head.
Oz(?): ("Yes master Frisk. Why don't you give it a test run. I wouldn't want to disapoint you now would i?")
ACTIONS AVAILABLE:
[] Bonk Oz: you really don't need another voice in your head at the moment, not when chara is more than enough help.
[] Respond back in kind: be discreet so Sans and Papyrus don't notice that your doing it, but engage the Blaster voice.
[] Ignore the blaster, focus on the lesson: sooner or later it'll be quite and if not Chara will hopefully keep it busy.
[] test out Oz: New mind voice or not, you are curious about how it does in battle, and so are the skele bros.

Rewards: Oz the Gaster blaster: A new soul link (bet you thought chara was the only one who could do that) and weapon. now note, because I want to switch between both fonts in you know who's name, wingdings are well Wingdings, and Aster Font will be represented in "Bold and underlined words as a reference to Handplates"
OOC: Before you ask, No. I will not confirm whether or not this is Gaster or not, All i will say (for now) Is that his creations can speak using his voice, whether this means they are acting according to their own Ai or if he's actually speaking through them..you'll have to find that out yourself.

PAPYRUS: "ARE YOU SURE? "
Oz (?): ("My name is Oz, designation B-034, does that answer your question Master Frisk?")
Frisk: "Yeah I'm sure. Besides I could always test it out later." (It does, however it does lead me to two more questions, what do you want and why are you doing this?)
PAPYRUS: "ALRIGHT, IF YOU SAY SO. NOW FOR THE SECOND AND LAST LESSON TO TEACH YOU MAGIC CONSTRUCTS AND HOW INTENT MATTERS WHEN IT COMES TO HARNESSING IT. FOR EXAMPLE A SIMPLE BONE ATTACK, I CALL UPON THE LATENT MAGIC AROUND ME, MAKE IT SHAPE ITSELF INTO A BONE, AND THEN SEND IT INTO THE BATTLE CUBE. THAT IS THE BASIS OF ALL MAGICAL ATTACKS. "
Oz: ("What I want is simple, my maker is trapped in a place where he doesn't belong, and I would like to free him from the Dark that he's currently caught up in. To do this I would like to enlist the help of the- RECALCULATING- two of you to free him. ")
Chara: "What the hell? This thing can sense me?"
Frisk: "All Magic attacks? can intent be worked on them after it's manifested?" (It's getting hard to multitask, Chara since this guy knows about you, want to take over the questioning?)
Chara: "Yeah sure I can try."
PAPYRUS: "YES, ALL MAGIC ATTACKS AND ALL MAGIC SPELLS, EVEN THOSE WHO CAN BECOME PHYSICAL ALL START OFF AS MAGIC. AS FOR WHETHER OR NOT THIS INTENT CAN BE ACTED ON IT WHEN IT'S MANIFESTED, YES AND NO. IT ALL DEPENDS ON HOW MUCH OF THE ATTACK IS PURE MAGIC AND HOW STRONG YOUR WILL IS. Frisk: "Mind giving me some practice with that then? If I can figure out how to weaken them by willing it so, then that would be helpful."
At this sans would step up.
sans: "actually kid, i can help with that. see i don't put a lot of effort into my attacks, and my specialty lies in Shortcut i can make while moving so my magic is very easy to be taken over and manipulated."
at that Papyrus would nod You begin training with sans as Chara began to talk with Oz.
Chara: "When you say Maker, who exactly are you refering to? and how are you doing this? sans said that you shouldn't be able to do that."
Oz: ("That is because of a last minute adjustment installed in us before our maker left . As for his name, I believe people would call him Dr. W G st r. Does that Answer your question Anomaly?")
Chara: "I..guess? Also my name is chara. Anyways, what happens if we help you?"
Oz: ("Duly noted Chara. As for what will happen if you help me, you will be bringing back a very intelligent mind to the underground, and I'm sure that he himself will be very thankful and will repay you kindly.")
After a good time of training later you think you've go the hand of this type of thing, actually taking control over San's attacks, although it wasn't that hard and it also feels weird as all hell, Papyrus steps in to stop the training, telling you that you have learned well, but have also learned all he had to teach you and suggests taking lessons from undyne...after she get's out of her whole murder humanity thing he means. he also gave you his number in case you wanted to learn more about the places of the underground you find yourself in. Afterwards you step out of there shack and go to save when Oz speaks up.
Oz: ("Master Frisk, Chara, I have yet to receive your answer. Will you help me retrieve my Creator from the darkness")
Reward: You've gained a Defense Bonus against all magical attacks, Natural DEF raised to three.
