[Touhou/Exalted] The Tourist

Need Renko to do her morning meditation/greeting of the day, and everyone is getting kinda nervous that their guest apparently runs off of sun powers.

Okay, thsi fic is great but... dear mod is there like a flowchart or guide to understanding touhou? maybe a plot synopsis somewhere? How do i understand this thing?

You have to play through the games. In Lunatic if possible. And then finish the bonus stage.

This is the only way.

The basic details don't change, but the issue is that a lot of what is used is going to depend on the writer's personal interpretation and what other works they've read or cribbed from.

Heh. Time stop isn't really a thing in Exalted, is it now.

(Also, sasa, Reimu really is that rude, yannow :p. She happily insults all sorts of people to their faces in the ending tea parties.)

I wonder if SAM+a Perfect would still be enough for her to defend if it came down to it, though. :p Sakuya's favorite technique is basically CoCT+some extras.

ergh. I cannot stand the translations and their chauturese prose.

Is there like an anime i can watch or anything?

What is the relation between Maribel Hearn (Whom I'm assuming is Merry) and Yukari? Why are they the same person in this? The wiki isn't telling me shit.

Well there is the Fantasy Kaleidoscope fan anime series but remember they are just one imaging of events from three games and the characters.
Episode One
Episode Two
Episode Three

It's confusing. Might be best to try Maribel Hearn's tvtropes entry here and Yukari entry here to start with (just scroll down to find them).

Yes. Perfects work on everything. Even things that say they beat perfects.
You have to *know* in order to use the perfect, though, that's the issue. The question is whether SAM or some other anti-surprise effect is enough to break Sakuya's time stop and allow her to move during it in order to block.

SAM works on everything, as well. Basically, when a Solar-tier defense charm says it trumps something, it TRUMPS SOMETHING.

Touhou is very loosely defined, and the "power levels" can vary wildly depending on the author. Since Exalted actually has crunch, I tend to lend more credence to it rather than vague power descriptions.

I would say that Exalted Wise, Touhou characters are on par with the primordial (Yukari and Yuyuko), celestial gods, the the terrestrial gods. So high power solars could probably defeat most Touhou characters

There's also "A Summer Day's Dream" by MAIKAZE. It follows its own plot, independent of the games. But a lot of the material is fanon, even more so than the adaptation by Manpaku Jinja. The animation is also substantially less fluid than Memories of Phantasm. What differentiates the two is that MAIKAZE hired professional voice actors, while Manpaku Jinja initially released theirs dubless.

Episode 1
Episode 2
Episode 2.5

If you're looking for something closer to canon, Memories of Phantasm is as close to a unofficial official anime you can get.

This reminds me of Renko approach to SDM (Scarlet Devil Mansion) This Title from Youtube.
【Touhou MMD】The Sealing Club breaks through the boundary! ~Let's go! Red Magic.~ (English subs)

Also try not...haha....
【Touhou MMD】Eiki-sama's Special Sermon (English subs)

It more funny if you read the subtitle.
Imagine Shikieiki is same one your meeting. Also both of them are from youtube.

I'd recommend Diamond in the Rough more. Pretty much the closest-to-canon fanwork I've known, though the tone can be a bit... heavy sometimes. The author also make this summary of the characters of Touhou, how fanon sees them, and how they are in canon.

Other than that, just read the wiki entry for each games/characters. The wiki is about as comprehensive as any wiki could ever get, you wouldn't be missing anything, except for that feels when you clear the games itself.

For the purposes of this story, all you need is PMiSS. Renko herself is reading it and it is clearly an unbiased source.

Maybe poke around the wiki some more or play some games if you want.

Unbiased? Maybe. Accurate? Nope. Aya's article is more accurate considering she actually interviews the persons themselves, and this is Aya.
