Tosa Quest (Kantai Collection)

Hoo boy. The schedule slip is real. It's not writer's block actually. It's more that I started my second year (in English law), dem assignments, and games (among them Azur Lane, in which you get to actually control the shipgirls in the fighting. [Behold. Innovation].) were (and still are) sapping my motivation to write.

Still, quest ain't dead quite yet. (and hopefully never) But I will have to say it's on hiatus. I'll see if I can motivate myself to write after my last assignment is done... at the end of December. (Or I could make a liar of myself and update this month because inspiration strikes back, but don't hold your breath on that.)

So yeah, sorry for the schedule slip.

Good to hear from you and take care of RL please. Looking forward to the continued misadventures of Kaga's Big Sister.

Don't worry too much, I'm pretty sure everyone here knows what a drag RL can be to writing.

(Thankfully I don't have to worry about school anymore)

@EmpirePlayer Have you thought about getting a Co GM to keep the game going?
There is some appeal to that thought, but I honestly don't really know someone who is willing to write in my setting as opposed to working on their own interpretations of Kancolle.

I mean, I am, to a degree somewhat that sure one of the more different points of Tosa quest compared to other Kancolle stories is a more... mellow, Slice-of-Life-y atmosphere? Things like Kongou's duality which I would prefer to think I had shown at some points throughout the story from a seperate POV, Kaga and Zuikaku's rivalry cooling down and never really descending to actual blows, the fact that thus far no one in the fleet has died yet, etc...

All combine for what I would term to be roughly... +3 on Avalanche's slider on setting tone? Not quite +5, but I hope I always show that undercurrent and belief in hope, that humanity will win, and sure, some points things might go bad, and the day could be lost, but the good guys will prevail. There is trauma there, but it can be overcome. Because they are all willing to fight for something.

Of course, I know real life doesn't work that way, but then again, I think I've always firmly thrown realism out the window if I feels it better suits the tone of the story.

We totally understand. RL can be brutal. And it always takes precedence. Take your time. Don't stress out about it. Hang in there! :)

I've re-read this quest time and time since a few years back. I don't know why, but finally now I decide to reply to this thread lol.

Re-read it because I've not the foggiest idea 'bout how the navy operates, let alone naval battles. Still am, but got the bare minimum of knowledge regarding it. And I mean it... like reading some bits about hull types and their usual armaments. Some bits here about certain battles... some bits there about some ships.

Even those are sparked through Kantai Collection and (mainly) Azur Lane. So yeah, very unreliable. But it somewhat helps me make sense about certain jokes, references, and the narration after the third re-read.

I'm not even studying about warfare nor its history. I'm more about plowing and tilling the fields side of things :p

But nevermind that far cry. I'm just having fun being interested in shipgirls and being a weeb, sooooo... yeah. I'm hoping I could participate once the Quest runs again. Certainly not with the know-how and insight you people, especially Waffles and Late, always bring to the Quest. But, I'll bring the mix of apprehension and appreciation for a good Quest.

Sorry to burst your hope to see sudden activity in the thread :p
And I'm awaitin' orders, captain.
