There's three levels of attachment in naming - pet, none, and familial. It's been clearly demonstrated that now that the personality is online some degree of socialization/attachment is required - which means we either give ourselves an outlet or have one made for us by circumstance.
That can be done by naming the drone and growing more attached to it, or through reconstituting ISHTAR and getting attached to her. (Or by growing deeply attached to something entirely up to the QM, such as anything remotely resembling a person we meet, a random simulation of ours, or just the next piece of dead matter our drone comes across)
Familial vs pet names is pretty obvious - one will be significantly more heartbreaking to lose than the other, with will be treated with correspondingly more caution as a result. Given the degree of risk scouting and scavenging represents as well as the necessity of continuing to do so (we need Salvage to get more functions online, which means either sending a drone or getting it ourselves), if we don't want to put ourselves at risk then Industry and blueprints for drone replacement are obvious picks.
That in turn locks out IRP, which means the least risky overall route to chart is to accept a degree of heartbreak from the loss of a beloved pet and queue up Industrial Matter-Printers and Wireframe Fabricators.
[x] GRID//FORMATTED-SPACE. Stable Architectural Space. Reward: Moderate, mostly data and information pertaining to current situation. Risk: Moderate, adjusted due to total sterilization of previous hex.
[x] Eyeball. Oh dear, oh gorgeous, you did such a good job on that mission. Mother has a name for you!! Who is my little synthetic superliminal observation unit? You are!
[x] Industrial Matter-Printers. At the macro-scale megastructural printing facilities are needed to begin constructions and restore a working drone defense and survey suite.
[x] Wireframe Fabricators. With risk of damage or destruction to drones increasing, it is important that blueprints are available for replacement of losses for your exploration drones.
