The Radiant Shepherd - A Warhammer 40K God-Emperor Quest

ok so the Promethean war is not going good and the Red Corsairs are still doing as canon. Those two Deamon Princes are gonna be an issue, But for the next few years aside from Ragnar Blackmane fighting Huron, nothing really happens that we can assume from canon.

A very good timeframe to work on buffing what we have and hope that earlier preparations can continue their growth

Mmm, I am tempted to add imparting the warning of the Genestealers and Tyranids and the threat they posed, so as to prepare for the coming Hive Fleets.

That would be two big things, that and the Choral Engine, so not quite at the edge of limits.

All in favor?

Oh, that reminds me, when the time comes for the third war for Armagedon to come, who's in favour with Blessing the assassins with 6-7 points in order to give them a solid chance at killing Ghaz instead of it failing, as mentioned before by ourselves in the Pov?

-[X] 4 points Commune with Valoris. Bid him order the High Lords to unearth the Choral Engine on the Shrine World (useful in inciting the Ecclesiarch to defend it) of Malakbael, fortify it, study it, operate it and bring light to the Imperium. Expect reprisal, have the Grey Knights on standby, whole Astartes Chapters to defend it, the Custodes a personal hand in the defense.
-[X]4 points Commune with yourself. Find the Knowledge needed to improve and repair the Golden Throne, and install a communications device.
-[X] 1 point Bless Kryptmann with luck to survive his trials, and the wisdom to not enact the self-destructive plans of the Octarius and the Cordon Sanitaire
-[X] 1 point Bless Rashian with charisma and luck in the endeavor to enlighten the Mechanicus and improve their efficiency.

If you are including a write in about securing important tech relevant to fixing the golden throne and webway

Would you mind including trying to secure hereteks and/or their research from the callixis sector?

If we are going for trying to patch the throbe and the webway gate in terra may as well go as much tech we can

--[X] The Emperor: Find the fragments of yourself who designed the Golden Throne with Malcador. It wasn't meant to grind Magnus down to nothing, but enhance him. The psykers sacrified to you, was their choir meant to be an endless dying churn of the weak, or an auditorium of mighty voices? Did you even make that part of it? Find the amplifiers and sustainers.
I have mixed feelings about it. It's delightfully worded, but I have a few concerns.

The Choral Engine needs focus to get done. Perhaps a vision might be sufficient, but...not sure if it won't be lost in the gaps, unless perhaps some emphasis was put on the connection to his fear and hope of repairing the Golden Throne?

Why not also how to install a communications device to ease our means of imparting orders?

Finally: Kryptmann and the Tyranid threat we needs must start on it sooner or later. Now...perhaps, maybe, we can wait a turn, given the time we are in...

I'm not trying to put it down, I'm very intrigued at your plan, just think discussion will help.

I am afraid I am not willing to do that. Too much of a long shot, too much added bandwidth.

Here's a thought: could we wake up Lion and/or Guilliman early? Get them to help blunt the incoming damage or start helping run the Imperium right?

Let's see what the voices think, especially since last turn the Star-Chikd told us to bless Celestine, we didn't, and then this happened.

Unless after reading something you yourself said was "gut wrenching" you're just going to carry on as if nothing happened and keep obsessing over some obscure new lore thing that the QM never even heard about until a week ago.
Request: Do not punish them - Utilize Opportunity: Conclave of the Mechanicus - Potential Institutional Power gained deemed 64.39146% more efficient than wider impacts of Astartes Founding."
There is a lingering presence which makes itself known, feeling rather similar to the whimpering voice from before. Like you, it watches Cadia also, listening in to each desperate prayer, desperately wishing to alleviate their suffering. Yet even if capable of speech, it chooses to remain silent this time. A form of condemnation, perhaps. Or a plea. Whatever it is, it's clear that they won't be content until aid is provided to 'mere mortals', sparing them from the horrors of the galaxy...
Kryptman is a fool beyond measure, but loyal to this atrocity that is our Imperium. A blessing is in order, carve out the stupidity that ordered the cordon sanitaire from his mind and mold him into something worthy. His work is not yet complete."
"A chance to heal the wounds of the failure we've made, to mend the ignorance that chews at our imperium like a cancer, allow the mechanicus to work, let the innovation of man once more shine unmatched in the galaxy. Wield their ships as spears against our many foes"

"Calculation: Knowledge given here by Emperor will reverberate throughout the galaxy - Utilize to prevent tragedy - Maximize efficiency - Share insight into technology.
"THRONE UPGRADES REQUIRED. COMMUNICATION DEVICE. OTHERS?"
"One human, no matter how powerful and how full of so-called "divine power" will not turn the tides of this war. Strengthen the Guard and the Navy, the true forces behind the Imperium, let the Mechanicum provide to them the might of the ancients, let their ranks be purged of cowardly and incompetent leaders, so that they might never fail again in their charge to defend mankind everywhere."

So looking at the voices that aren't clearly crazy or just despairing, what they want from us is to:
-use the AdMech Conclave as the opportunity to share knowledge
-bless Kryptman
-bless the common people. Especially since apparently there's something else out there that won't make itself known until we do so.

Hmmm should we perhaps place a curse upon Huron? Given he's a constant thorn in the side of the Imperium and sides with Abaddon I feel that would be a well made move to weaken/destroy a potential pawn of Chaos.

There's no reason that pulling up the plans for the Golden Throne and then ordering the repair of the Golden Throne can't happen in the same action, if the points are spent. Maybe it would be better not to spread it over two turns?

Here's a thought: could we wake up Lion and/or Guilliman early? Get them to help blunt the incoming damage or start helping run the Imperium right?
Guilliman will need a lot more than just a blessing, but we do know that the Lion and Corvus Corax would be the easiest to bring back since we know their deal (sleeping in the depths of the Rock and Bird-Daemon thing bullying Lorgar when the Phoenix Lords aren't).

But to do something like bringing back a Primarch, we're gonna probably need to sink all 10 actions into doing it.

Choral Engine probably will help us to rebuild the throne if nothing else, but I doubt we can get it one-and-done. I don't think Emps even knows where it is, we'd need to Observe it to get hard details for them. My main concern here is reforming the Mechanicus and making them a little more concerned with the rest of humanity, the rest can come later.

Kryptmann is kind of a nut, to be honest. I'm alright with losing him if he can't last one turn after just being helped, even considering what he brings to the table. At the end of the day the Nids are bugs. Peak Imperium would have crushed them effortlessly. For all that they might appear weak at times, Chaos is by far the worst threat and needs to get most of our concern.

Pretty sure we don't know how to put a TTS on the throne currently, hopefully the shards will.

You're not wrong. What are you thinking?

@Arcanestomper

Do we need an observe to determine where the Choral Engine is, or is that in the general knowledge he has?

I am going to rule that you can't commune with Valoris again right away. He is very busy leading the Custodes as they go out and about the rest of the galaxy now.
Well, that changes things a bit.

High Lords probably won't listen to a Shield Captain of the Companions...

The first two actions of Infinite Truth does look promising, though I think we could wait a bit to delve into our mind for secrets. We got a pretty big hint that we should be helping out the little guys, so I propose we spend the rest of our 4 actions on blessing people. The thing I'm thinking about is who should do so with specifically and just how broad this will be.

Since it isn't actively being obscured by Chaos the Emperor knows where it is.

If you reword your vision to emphasize the connection of the Choral Engine to his Raskian's desires and where to find it as we did with Dante, and consider adding a clause for a communications device in our communion with ourself as the voice suggests, I'll back your plan.

It's similar enough in that it helps humanity and saves lives AND is tied to repairing the Throne.

Potential throne plan:

[x] Plan Email From the Omnissiah
  • Commune with the Lord Fabricator and teach him how to improve the Golden Throne so that you can exert more of your will.
  • Blessings: Summon Kaldor Draigo and Saint Celestine to the throne room so they can assist the Custodes in fighting off daemons while the mechanicus work.
  • Blessing: Improve the Lord Fabricator's ability to work on the throne as much as possible.
