The Detective And His Assistants:
You strode into the police station and made yourself known. "I need to speak to the Commandant." You said, clearly trying to make you have something good.
The front desk officer was not impressed. "Oh boy. Get out of here boy, unless you have something to report."
Really? Good god, you were in a foreign country, where you well knew- Oh wait. You needed some credentials. "Oh, maybe this will help me see your Commandant."
You pulled out your Ace Detective Badge and showed it to him. That made the desk officer go bug-eyed. "Oh, I didn't know you were in Paris, Mr. Arc. Is your Grandfather also here with you?"
You nodded. "No, my grandfather is trying to avoid working for the next few months. Trying to keep himself from having a heart attack." You paused. "Will I be able to speak to the Commandant soon?"
The Officer nodded. "In a few minutes, he's on call right now."
"Mr. Raincomprix, Sabrina was supposed to be with me an hour ago, we have shopping to do." An annoying banshee of a voice pierced through the walls that were your ears and you turned to face a police officer and two girls standing before him. One was a blonde with a yellow jacket, a white and black shirt and white jeans, and a pair of white dress shoes, clearly highly expensive in their design and fashion. Her sense of fashion was based on trends that were clearly based entirely on the Parisian style of the youth of the day.
Her nosey, nassely voice gave you the impression that she was trying to force her voice into an accent or tone that was clearly trying to sound far older, and far far more… unlike her.
She was rich, had parents who spoiled her, or worse, both.
You also could clearly see that she was projecting her authority on the girl next to her.
The girl next to her, you guessed was Sabrina, and the officer she was speaking to was her father or caretaker…
Or they were both trying to get out of trouble.
Without any sort of evidence and a single sentence to go off of, you were reasonably certain that you should not get involved.
But you were going to listen in anyway because you were bored and needed to deduce something.
Perhaps they were friends?
"Chloe, I had already told you that we had plans tonight, I wanted to go out to dinner with my father once he gets word about his promotion." The Girl, Sabrina stated.
She was timid, that much you could tell by her defensive body language, and by her quiet answer to her friend. But it could just be her personality, the quiet one to her friends' far more assertive and confident personality.
She was lean, with orange hair in a bob cut that was remarkably well done by herself, that you could tell, and she had clear talent in it as well. Her purple and blue vest was clearly of lesser quality than her friends, but it had needlework of mending, and the dress shirt was very clean. The Cyan shorts she wore were new, and the Artic shoes were worn, snug, and comfortable.
A Rich girl and her poor/working-class best friend.
You were going to call it a poor relationship, but you were thinking far too negatively in the situation. They could actually be very good friends for all you know.
"Chloe, I don't want to carry all your bags again," Sabrina replied. "And you never get me anything."
Never mind, this was not a good relationship. Chloe was using that poor girl and that girl Sabrina was getting Validation by being known by the socialite and rich girl Chloe.
You stood up and walked over. Time to meddle in some business like the detective you were. "You know, perhaps instead of insisting ongoing right now, perhaps you can reschedule? There are plenty of other days you can go shopping."
That made the girl, Chloe, stamp her foot down. "But there is a sale today on the Gabriel designs, and Adrien is there."
Hm… Adrien… where have you heard that name before? You are in Paris, so that means that…
Ahh, Adrien Agreste, son of Gabriel Agreste, model, and enigma… Kinda like you were to anyone with less than ten brain cells or refused to look at your id… or the pictures… or anything else for that matter involving the Arc Detective Agency.
If people just did their research and due diligence, they wouldn't be caught off guard by you somehow being a masterful detective.
Or a poor student.
"I am not going to put off the last night before school to have you both hang out with my daughter Chloe." The Adult officer stated. You saw the name tag and it said Roger on it. "That is final."
"My daddy will hear about this!" Chloe proclaimed as she looked at you. "What are you looking at?"
A Girl throwing a tantrum in the middle of a police station? Making an ass of herself? Not knowing that her father probably had no authority to even harm a police officer besides lodging a complaint?
But you weren't going to vocalize those thoughts.
"YOu know, when people have plans, normally they accept that and try to make different plans for themselves for the future." You stated. "Perhaps you can try that."
She snorted. She looked like she wanted to say something else, but instead, she huffed. "You really need to stay out of other people's business."
"So do you." You replied.
"What are you, some spy?"
Close, but you were not some government stooge that made six figures on a taxpayers tit, while also doing evil things.
You did good work, got justice for others who needed it.
"Wrong, detective." You replied, snorting a little as you took pride in the title.
"Well, you probably find stray cats and do unglamorous jobs." Chloe stated.
Sabrina, who at this point was looking at you with envy in her eyes, looked to her father, and before she said something, a voice behind you spoke. "Roger! It's the Commandant, get into his office, your promotion papers came through! But there's been a clerical error that needs to be sorted out, you're going to need to stay late tonight before it's official."
That made Sabrina, Chloe and you look at the officer and he sighed. "Sabrina… get home, this might take a while… We might have to schedule dinner another night."
Well… That was… Well, shit, you didn't think that you could feel sympathy for Sabrina, but here it was. Chloe looked ecstatic. "Come on Sabrina, we have a store to get to!"
You narrowed your eyes. "Why not let Sabrina decide Chloe?"
"Why are you getting involved? We don't even know your name?!" Chloe replied. "Besides, you could be lying about who you are."
Well, that was true, you had been rather rude and barged in because you were bored. Time to change that. "Arthur Arc."
That made Sabrina's Eyes bug out like the officer at the desk. "Where's the Badge?" She asked.
You showed your badge. That made Chloe, for her part, look confused. "What is that, some toy?"
Sabrina frowned. "Arthur Arc is one of the youngest detectives in the world, and he's got a 99% case closed record, that is the best in the world. Dad never stops talking about him or his Grandfather when he's in the city... " her face went to fear. "You are in the city on business? Aren't you?"
You sighed. "Some. I'm also here for school. Though I still don't know where yet." A lie of course, but you didn't want to broadcast your every movement to everyone, you needed some privacy.
"You wanna hang out?" Sabrina asked, taking the initiative before Chloe could do anything… or say anything to interrupt you or her.
Well… you had planned to do something like go barge in on a murder case… and solve it in a few hours, but…
Maybe you could act your age?
A shock you know, but you could try. So hopefully, you could sound really cool while doing it.
"Okay." You replied, sounding bored and uninterested.
-----------------------------------------------------------
You had… not expected to have fun. You got ice cream, and were shown around Paris…
You didn't know what to think, but you did get some insight into Chloe and Sabrina.
Chloe was a brat, yes, but she also, in a strange way, was not. You deduced she was trying to emulate someone in her life, someone whom she had a connection to that was… missing or was absent. Perhaps a parent or sister… or something else? She put up a defense mechanism of, and you lack a better word… a bitch.
Her father was the mayor, and that meant he was not entirely there in her life, and he probably used her as a political tool, that may be inflated her sense of self-worth which, was already so out of balance with her emulation of that person missing in her life… well it was obvious.
She was a walking, talking, ignorant train wreck of a person, held together by friendship, narcissism, and her own ego.
Perhaps there was more to her… perhaps there was not. But you think that, with the right motivation… She could become a happier person.
Or at very least a more… whole person.
You might need to gather more information and evidence. But that was a good first deduction and hypothesis.
Sabrina…
Well, nothing changed on your first deduction, besides one important fact.
She was loyal. Genuinely loyal to her friend Chloe, even though Chloe was terrible or at the very least, did not see the friendship the same way.
Maybe you could focus on such things. Maybe.
But it was fun.
It had been a long time since you had acted like a kid.
Reward: Allies met, Sabrina Raincomprix, Chloe Bourgeois
They are now your primary Detective Allies, and their skills will assist you during investigations.
They may also gain detective and investigative skills if you allow them to work out ideas on their own.

You didn't get any sleep at all that night, save for an hour-long cat nap, but you felt energized as you prepared for school.
"Someone in a good mood." Grandfather said with a smile.
"Well, I think today is going to be great." You replied.
"Good." He replied.

The Class was all looking at you.
"Class." Madam Busier stated with a smile. "This is Arthur Arc."
You stood up but were relaxed. "Would you like to say something?"
