The Outside Bet: A Miraculous Ladybug Quest

Three Days in Paris: The Only One
Three Days in Paris: The Only One

[X]The detective's Wit: "Suzuki… how about you let me come quietly! Then we can have our game."

"Kagami, stop!" You shouted, stepping in front of the Attacking girl, making her freeze. "Suzuki! I know you can hear me!"

That made Kagami bow her head. "I can." Suzuki was speaking through Kagami… that weird connection that was quiet… freaky.

"What are you doing!?" Ladybug asked, preparing to attack."

"I know you don't trust me ladybug, but I know Suzuki, and I think I know what she wants!" You proclaimed. "Let me come quietly, no battling, not great powers… we can have our game."

Chat raised an eyebrow. "Um… what game are you playing, and why is it important?"

"You'll understand soon." You stated. "Chloe, Sabrina, get back to the Police station and tell Roger and my grandfather that I'm going to the Eiffel tower. Tell them that I'll be okay. I have a game to play."

Chloe stepped forward "What does-"

"Chloe… Trust me. Please." You demanded. "Sabrina, make sure she does that."

"Are you trying to be a hero?" She asked. "Cause you never seem to be one."

"I'm not, I'm playing the role she wants me to play. The Detective hero who saves everyone." You replied. "And I'm afraid that if you get involved, you will die."

The statement made Chloe freeze, and Ladybug and Chat Noir seemingly… lose confidence.

You then turned to LAdybug. "Follow me, but don't attack anyone, don't show any emotion. Let her believe she's won this battle."

"But she'll know we aren't under her control." She stated.

"I'm counting on that." You replied.

Suzuki Oda was born during an eclipse, so she told you when you met her the first time, and that it blackened her soul and broke her spirit. Her parents viewed her as a demon's spawn of hell. They had tried to murder her.

And she killed them in return.

When she was… twelve, she became obsessed with storybooks, and how people developed after Trauma. It was… insanity. Broken people becoming better through great effort. That was what she believed. So she took people, her school friends… her classmates, and other kids…

And tortured them, to see how they reacted… and grow. Many regressed, became hollow husks.

Some died… and she never believed that she was at fault. Always forcing… Development as she had.

You had decided to do exactly that… put herself in her shoes… and that was how you caught her. She was sloppy… and never grew, never thought to change. And that ended her… rampage.

She was like a broken clock in a sense. Never moving, never rotating. Staying in the same spot.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

On the ground of the Eiffel tower, you saw Suzuki waiting for you. Chat and Ladybug stood beside you, quietly watching as the ninja army she had gathered surrounded you. "As you can see Shogun… Suzuki. I'm here."

"I can see, and you brought the two meddlesome heroes as well." She replied with a scowl.

Seeing her now allowed you to see how far she was in the samurai warlord. The face mask she wore was traditional, with a large nose and massive mouth. The helmet she wore was that of Oda Nobunaga… the true Shogun of her clan from so long ago. Battle Armor scuffed and damage, as if she tore it off a corpse and wore it as her own. Heritage of a history that was no longer within her sight… within her truth.

She was trying to cling to something. Something that belonged to her.

Like the tiny figure hanging on her neck. A figure of a hugging parent and her child.

"I did. And that is all. You will not take their miraculous." You proclaimed with a step forward.

"Don't you see I'm the hero!" She proclaimed. "I'm the one who has lost and hurt and broken… and you… you were the one who turned it all on its head! You stopped me from helping those people become better!"

You frowned. "I didn't kidnap people. I didn't take people away from their families and turn them into thugs and assassins and murderers for my own power! I chose to find the truth. You did wrong."

"All I wanted to do was be the hero." She whispered. "I am the hero. The hero working for the villain without a choice."

"You do have a choice, Suzuki. Let go." You replied.

"I can't." She replied.

She was terrified… knowing that there was a voice telling her to keep going. "I can't."

"Than… Let me set you free." You stated. "Ladybug, summon your lucky charm… and be ready."

You knew the item that held the Akuma was in.

"But-" She protested.

"Trust me. Please." You asked. It was your one chance to see this through.

Suzuki may be a sadistic and crazy woman… but she did not deserve to suffer any longer in this game.

"Lucky Cham!" Ladybug shouted as she seemed to create something far in the air…

And down came a Katana.

Ahh… so it was one of these.. Types of situations. Let's hope that Kendo training paid off. You took the blade and bowed to Ladybug. "Promise me that whatever happens… don't hurt her."

"Why, she's-"

"Someone who needs help Ladybug." You said. It was sad… but all those people you put away… people like Suzuki just needed help. She was ill… brilliant, crazy, sad, and alone...in dire need of assistance.

You never hated her… not the broken side of her.

After all, you saw it in the mirror every day.

You drew the blade. "Suzuki. The winner is the first strike." You demanded.

"Very well." She stated with a blade ready of her own.

You stepped forward and watched the wind blow… leaves moved across the ground… and a cherry blossom flew between you, probably from the gardens or some plant…

And you both rushed forward…

Slice…

Both blades seemed to pass through nothing.

Suzuki… Shogun cried in victory. "I win!"

You felt your side, and saw the massive slash on your side…. And you smiled.

"No… I win." You stated as you fell to on knee.

And then, the Akuma revealed itself, flying out of her necklace as she transformed… back to her normal self. "Wait… I- Lost-"

Ladybug captured the akuma. "Time to de-Evilize!" She shouted, capturing the butterfly into the yoyo.

"Bye-bye little butterfly." She stated with a wave.

"Miraculous Ladybug!." Ladybug shouted, as hyou handed over her sword, throwing the blade back into the air, exploding into ladybugs. And the world seemed to revert back to normal...and the side healed instantaneously… like Magic.

"Pound it!" The two heroes said.

"Come on Arthur. You earned it." Chat replied.

"I shouldn't I hate most superheroes." You replied. "No offense."

"Well, take it as a free invite about." Ladybug stated. "Well, I may not trust you… but I believe you've earned it."

You found yourself with a smile. "Thanks."

What do you do?:

[]Talk to Suzuki: Try and interrogate the girl… see if she remembers anything.

[]To the Heroes: Ladybug… I need to ask you something?

[]Beware the Ides of March: "Hello Arthur… long time no see."

[]Evidence: "So… Pappy. Did you find out who brided Paris PD to arrest me?"

Kinda worried if whoever did that, might try again in the future and that will cause us some problems or unwanted delays during cases.

Ladybug captured the akuma. "Time to devitalize!"
Pretty sure that's not the right word.

And the world seemed to revert back to normal...and the side healed instantaneously… like Magic. "Miraculous Ladybug!." You shouted, throwing the blade back into the air, exploding into ladybugs.
Firstly, these are in the wrong order.

Secondly, I'm pretty sure Ladybug is the one who's supposed to throw the Lucky Charm to push the Reset Button.

[X]Evidence: "So… Pappy. Did you find out who brided Paris PD to arrest me?"

Let me guess; Zain?

Also, while I'd like to go for the third option, this strikes me as a bit more pressing at the moment.

First off, damn that was pretty cool of Arthur. He doesn't hate her, because he sees a reflection of himself in her. As you said before, or at least I think you did, that you chose the villians of Arthur to be reflections like Batman's Rogue Gallery.

[X]Talk to Suzuki: Try and interrogate the girl… see if she remembers anything.

Also, we are supposed to be a detective, so we have to gather clues about Hawkmoth as well.

Omake: Chessmates.
Omake: Chessmates.

Arthur eyed his opponent carefully before he made his move, a he drew upon some dramatic flair he'd heard from one of Kagami's anime. "Come Suzuki, you think this is the end?" His opponent stared at him in confusion as he moved his piece. "Rook takes knight." The jumpsuited teenager wailed as she saw his plan finally in action "Double check. and thus mate."

It took 2 minutes for the girl to calm down. Her first words being... "I'll get you for this Arc!" Followed by a shy request for a rematch with battleship.

In many ways he was indulging her. Grandfather had warned against this, as it only drove her growing obsession with him to new heights; but in his, and the asylums psychiatric wards opinion it was helping her in some way. Previously she lashed out against those around her, especially those she saw as 'damaged' or 'unenlightened. That had largely stopped with his increased presence during her imprisonment. Already he'd managed to distract and refocus her away from her more grotesque tendencies - at least among her fellow inmates. Though that didn't ease his own concerns when sometimes she had forgotten to put her 'journal ' away, and some of her various plans towards her goals with him, slipped out.

....

Yes he wasn't exactly sure dog suits and cat ears suited him; though that often switched with peasent robes every few days. Her own costume in these Kagami had noted as 'Chuuni', and were 'exotic' to say the least. Some Star Wars inspired, others final fantasy. Her latest one was Shredder from Ninja turtles, though that was quickly shifting into a broader period samurai look over time.

Was it unsettling that she still bore that all to wide smile that never fully matched her eyes outside of when he let her challenge him? Certainly. But it beat the lonelyness he had observed since the day they had first met; a loneliness he knew all to well.

"C3!"

He squinted. "Miss."

"Dammit!"

THats the whole point. Arthur is a sad and somewhat broken person...

Who's only matched by even sadder and worse people.
I like the fact you put Arthur thinking about a dog costume...

Really making it Subtle and awesome.

Chole: Arthur, why are you in a dog costume?
Arthur: Don't ask…
Chloe: I'm asking.

Arthur: Blame the Sage who is my neighbor. He seems to think I'm a good enough dude to be responsible enough to handle a magical creture.

Chloe: Why are you telling me this?

Aruthr: Why would I hide it? It would seem rather... counter intuitive to hide it from my assistant. It would only add a layer of mistrust that would not be healthy for a Detective assistant relationship.

Any other material you'd like made into a background skit?

Also...

"Why do you look like an Akit..."

"I'm a German Shepard, and no it is not Cute - despite what my 'arch-nemesis' says."

Meanwhile snapshots to Suzuki petting him while he's locked up in a trap.
