Before The Life and Times of Whitley Schnee:

When you were born, you were born in a house frozen as the emblem of your family. The Snowflakes, each unique in their shape and design, last for but a moment in the beautiful world, before reaching the ground to become part of the cold snow of the world.

But it was not always like that. When you were born, the family you lived in, the Schnee family was still full of warmth. The frostiness of the relationships that were just forming was just that, frosty, the relationships were not broken and burned, strained and destroyed by time, energy, and all the misunderstandings and mistakes.

And as you grew, you never really understood any of them. It was simple. Mom and Dad sometimes had arguments, but always stopped when you showed up, Klien was always there to help you and give you sweets, Winter was... aloof and never could look at you the same way as she did Weiss. Weiss was... quiet, and never showed much of her emotions to you.

But they were your family.

The Family that you would always treasure.

The Family, Dysfunctional and broken as it was, was never one without warmth and... kindness towards you.

It was as if they never wanted you to suffer as they had.

You found that the most in:

[]Winter: Your eldest sister was always aloof, distant, and cold towards everyone else, but she always warmed when you were around, and she always had the right words to say to you, no matter what. (Gain Trait: The Eldest's Wisdom)

[]Weiss: You were scared. It was something that was constant as a young little boy, and no one helped you with facing your fears of the dark. Not mother, not father, not even Winter. Only Weiss. And every time you went to Weiss' Room and knocked on her door, she answered. She always answered the door and let you in. (Gain Trait: The Simple Soul)

[]Mother: Your mother was not a good person. Not normally, from what you heard from Winter and Weiss behind your back, and from some of the group. You had heard she was a drunk, neglectful woman who was tricked into a marriage that ruined her life and her reputation. But whenever you were around, she stopped drinking... or at least in your presence. And she tried to be better. To be a mother who was worthy of the title. To prove she can change and be better. (Gain Trait: The Snowflakes Bravery)

[]Jacques: Your Father was ruthless. Cunning, a man who married into the Schnee family yes... but he was the driving force that made the SDC into what it was today. Yet even he had his soft side, and you were his darling little boy, his heir, the one who would succeed him when he was ready to retire. You didn't care about the... very ugly ways things were done... after all, you were his little boy. All you had to do was behave. And nothing bad would happen to you. No matter how cruel he was to everyone else in your family, and how much you pushed them all away. (Gain Trait: The Fawn)

[]Klien: The Butler, Servent, and confidant, was a shoulder to cry on. Winter was gone, Weiss was hiding in her room all the time, or at lessons... Your mother was drunk and your father was cruel. Everyone in this family didn't want to be with you... to help you. To see that a little boy wanted to have a family. But it wasn't a Family member that saved you. It was the man who was always there (Gain trait: Persona)

[]No One: Everyone abandoned you because they were too busy worrying about themselves. No one came to help the little boy who cried for love, for help... for anyone to help him. You were left alone. Alone to your thoughts. (Gain Trait: Shattered Snowflake)

[]Nicholas Schnee: You only had the paintings and the stories of him, guiding your every thought. him fearlessly leading expeditions, living a life of love and kindness. To see his name being used so... You wanted to know their wisdom. Instead, all you heard was silence.(Gain Trait: The Heir of the Snow)

When you were eight years old, your life changed, because your father wished for you to join your family's many social events, and needed you to... uphold the family name. You needed to be skilled to bring glory to the Schnee family.

[]You took up Fencing and Dueling: Your Father thought it would be best that you spent time with your sisters, in a way that would honor the Schnee Family Name. The training was very hard, and the tutor who trained you had little care for (Start with trait Duelist.)

[]You Began Piano Lessons: Your Father saw the Success of Weisses Career as a singer for the Schnee Charity Events, and sought to capitalize on that talent and win publicity of a duo of musically gifted siblings. You much preferred the Guitar... and playing Hard Rock and Heavy Metal, much to your father's disappointment and cringe. (Gain Trait: Musician)

[]You took an interest in the SDC Day to Day Operations: You wished to join the SDC as someone who can work, not just as a member of the family, but as someone who can change things within the company. And you did, with gusto, improving shipping capacity by five percent, and even impressed your father. (Gain Trait Administrator.)

[]Hosting the Family Gala's: your Father had high expectations for you to be a host, someone who could grasp the people's attention, to hold and mold it in your hands like puddy, with wine and song. Everyone knew you as a gracious host. (Gain Trait: Gregarious)

[]Reading Stories of the Past: You had heard stories of Grandpa Schnee and his many daring adventures and Escapades with Grandmother during his youth when the SDC was still forming. You just wished to be just like him. Brave, Daring, with someone to care about. (Gain Trait: Scholar.)

[]You Discovered your Semblance: For the longest time, you thought you were just... useless A Boy who could not use the family semblance, the one thing that defined you as a Schnee. And then, the Small Glyph appeared on your hand one morning, as you screamed in Joy. (Start with Glyph Semblance)

AN: Welcome Everyone, all, to a quest that has been created by myself and @Always Late with one goal in mind.

Take our youngest Schnee scion, and then throw him on an adventure, to honor the Schnee Family Name, and become better than his father ever could be.

And Maybe Grow up a little along the way.

Yep. it's another one, but with La Chanson going into hibernation for a few months, and me finally getting more than 1 day off for the next few weeks... Well, I'm all ready to go back to RWBY.

Vote in Plan Format Please.

Grandfather’s Heir:
Grandfather's Heir:

[]Nicholas Schnee: You only had the paintings and the stories of him, guiding your every thought. him fearlessly leading expeditions, living a life of love and kindness. To see his name being used so... You wanted to know their wisdom. Instead, all you heard was silence.(Gain Trait: The Heir of the Snow)
-[]You Discovered your Semblance: For the longest time, you thought you were just... useless A Boy who could not use the family semblance, the one thing that defined you as a Schnee. And then, the Small Glyph appeared on your hand one morning, as you screamed in Joy. (Start with Glyph Semblance)

You stared up at the portrait of the Grandfather intently, sitting down on the floor late into the night as you sighed. Stoic was the nature of the portrait that remained. A stern man, a man filled with duty, clad in his heavy armor, sword in front of him, his red regal cape draped over his shoulders. He was a knight. A Paladin of true power and honor to the Schnee name. A Titan who's legacy must be preserved by any means necessary. Someone whom any rightful Schnee worth the name should emulate.

It was the symbol that your father wanted to be seen by all.

It was divorced from the scars and the people who worked for him, precious people who joined him for the adventure of saving Mantle and Atlas from relying on others for help, and for Dust.

It was divorced from his knowledge, his drive and his thirst for adventure that always saw him leading expeditions from the front.

Above all else, It was divorced from the family he helped raise. It was divorced from Grandmother Nana, whom from the stories, he had loved so deeply, that she was the only one who was allowed in his room, once he realized he could not be saved from his illness. It was divorced from mother, who, in her rare moments of sobriety, would always go to his tomb, and weep for his soul. From the pictures of a fat old man who held his grandchildren in his arms with the gentlest of touches.

It was divorced from you, who's only memory of the man was a tired, sick, but happy old man in a red coat, a funny hat with a bell on it, the smell of peppermint candy on his breath and a beautiful white beard, bellowing a joyful laugh as he set you on his leg, and asked what you wanted for your birthday.

You had wanted so much to talk to the man, to hear his stories in his words, not from Father, not from mother or Winter and Weiss.

To sit on his knee, and hear that bellowing laugh again. To feel the warm hug, as he set you down with a gift in hand.

But all you heard, gazing into the stern eyes of that portrait, was silence.

Reward: Gain Trait: The Heir of the Snow: You are the Heir of Nicholas Schnee, you will honor the Schnee name in the way he had, through determination, hard work, cunning, and a love for Family. (Unknown Effect. You believe in being smarter, tougher, and Wiser than the enemy)

You were a Schnee. That was what you kept telling yourself every time you looked in the Mirror. You were a Schnee, a Son of the Snow.

That was what you kept telling yourself at least. But every day you grew older, more and more doubts flooded your mind, as you saw Winter and Weiss practice in the Courtyards, dancing on the snowy glyphs that appeared from them.

Under control, under their power. Everyone could see that the daughters of Willow were true Schnee's after all, they had Nicholas' Power.

They had his hair, they had his power…

They were the ones who had everything.

You didn't.

Whispers always followed you around as you scampered around the halls. Bastard was the word that tipped you off to their true intentions and their true thoughts. Just a child that Willow had with another man, a lesser man, who's ill-gotten blood sullies your veins with ignobility and weakness. Or you were a child by Jacques, with another woman, replaced after the child died, and you were the result.

The statements were still the same.

You were no True Schnee.

Those words more than anything, hurt you. Hurt you and angered you.

"Tell me then!" you shouted into the Mirror, shattered from your fists slamming into them, caked in your fresh blood. "Tell me what I am! Am I Schnee, Am I a Bastard!?"

Tears streamed down your face, you wanted to know the truth.

"I am a Schnee! I am born from Snow, Ice, and Cold. Burdened by duty and Hounded by Destiny!" Your voice cracked. "Grandfather, if you're listening, please… Tell me you love me? Tell me I am your family!"

And as you curled up into a ball, with blood on your face, and tears blinding you… you saw something only from Weiss and Winter.

A Glyph… A small one, but one that was unmistakable... a snowflake circling and moving at your command.

"Whitley!" Klein screamed as he broke down your door. Blood may have surrounded you. But that did not matter.

You saw the Glyph. You saw your birthright!

Reward: Aura will be set to Competent. Your Semblance: Glyph, is unlocked. You do not know how powerful you really are?
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

All good things come to an end.

And the peaceful life that you knew was shattered forever.

When you were Twelve your life changed forever. What happened to you:

[]You Fought Back: You wished to be free of your Father's influence, to be free of so much pain and suffering and his abuse... He was... Not happy about it. And he punished you appropriately for it. If you wished to fight, you would fight for your freedom of the one thing you knew you would never touch, never attempt to destroy with your love of the Schnee name. The Armor of Nicholas Schnee, worn by a robot. You won. Barely, only rescued by the timely intervention of Weiss and Winter, who outright called it child abuse. But it left you horrifically injured, with a scar over your eye... nearly blinding you.

[]Winter Left: Your sister didn't want to be under anyone's boot. She told father that she did not want to be a part of this family anymore. That he dishonored the Schnee family name with every breath he took. And her gaze at you as she said those words hurt more than any wound, and word, any insult that you had heard. She did not just mean your father. Her words were pointed at you.

[]Weiss shut herself away: Mirror Mirror on the wall... who's the loneliest of them all? That was what you heard Weiss say listening through the door, as she shattered the mirror with her fist. She saw you looking at her through the door, but you remained silent. And she shut the door on you... forever.

[]Willow Hit you: It was an accident she told you. It was the booze, the beer, anything that would deflect the responsibility from her own actions. She was angry and afraid of what she had done, what you would think. But worse of all, she was lying to your face. You could see it in her eyes, as you ran away. She had done it on purpose. And the only thing she saw wasn't her little boy. But Jacques.

AN: Enjoy, and choose your flavor of Tragedy.

[X]Willow Hit you: It was an accident she told you.

You were in the garden where your mother was drinking. A beautiful well kept place that was dotted with winter flowers, and the sounds of fountains and birds and bees among the flowers. It was such a masterfully built place, that if it were any other circumstances, you would have admired it.

Even after seeing it your entire life, the sounds of nature and flowers filled your mind with wonder. For you had lived your entire life in snow, steel, and shadows. Of your father, and his ambitions.

But this place was also your mother's favorite place to get drunk. To drink herself in sorrow, to be forgotten by the world.

Like all the other days, she was sitting with a wine glass, a bottle of Mistralian red… but unlike the other days, she had whisky with her as well. A Hard drink that was only ever seen with her when…

When she was sad. Not mournful, not distressed, but mourning. She was thinking about her father… Grandfather.

"Mother, may I join you?" You politely stated as you walked before her, showing her the utmost respect, even if she was absent from it… and she deserved none of it in your presence in her state.

She said nothing, just swirling her win in her hands before she drank it. Then she picked up the bottle and drank the whole thing...

Something was on her mind that you could not shake. Something that was making her drink far more than she normally did. "Is everything alright?" You asked. "Father is-" It was then you realized the horror of your statement, as her hand struck you firmly in your face. It was a slap yes, not a punch or something far worse... but an unexpected one, one that sent you tumbling backward in shock. Your hand reached across your face to feel the stinging on your cheek.

"How dare you spy on me for him!" She bellowed, shaking the table she sat on as she stood up. "Haven't you already taken enough from me, you little shit!" Her eyes were bloodshot with tears. She must not have realized that it was you speaking to her… She must think that she was speaking to your father. Or she was just imagining you working for father in an attempt to... control her.

"Now you come to taunt me at my weakest moment, acting like the kind, caring little boy that you play in front of everyone else, obsessed with the legacy of my father, acting as if this family was worthy of a stain like you." She wept and cried, sounding hysterical, but you knew she was overcome… overcome by a need for catharsis. "You are just a pawn and puppet, who is too afraid to do anything but be the loyal son, out of fear!"

The Bottle of whiskey shattered in your mother's hands, and she didn't react to the blood going down her fingertips. "You do not deserve the name of Schnee, because all you have proven to be is like your father!"

"I hate you! I hate you for destroying my family and I hope you take that rotten husband back to hell with you!"

In the end, your mother just stood, triumphant at her proclamation, her rage, and her venting of what was possible years of emotions…

All to a child. Her child. And she believed that you were responsible for destroying this family.

At those words, you found your courage to speak. "Mother?"

That was when your mother, Willow Schnee, Pride of the Schnee family, daughter of Nicholas… your mother seemed to realize what she had finally said, through the booze and the neglect.

So many years lost, now she realized, she would never get them back, as she pushed her children away.

You stood up, as your mother rose. "Whitley… wait." She begged. "Please wait. I… I'm just drunk, the wine and whiskey are talking… please just… just wait, please let me explain."

"Is that what you really think of me?" You asked, stepping back in fear as she stepped closer.

"What, no Whitley, please… just let me explain-" She stammered. She wanted to say something, to make you stay.

But you wanted to leave. Not just this situation… but Atlas itself.

"What would Grandfather think of you, seeing you like this? Rambling, drunk, and lying to me… especially to yourself?" The question you asked stopped your mother in her tracks. Stopped her rambling, her excuses, and made her fall back onto the chair she sat in.

You ran away. To your room, to grab a bag…

To get away from this family.
-------------------------------------------------------------

You didn't have much time. But your mother was still in shock, and would not think of you running away. Father would not be back for another day or two… and Weiss… Well...

You wanted to ask her to come with you… but you knew she would refuse.

But you needed to gather the essentials.

You may only choose 3 Items!

[]Grandfather's Sword: Nicholas' Schnee's Greatsword, currently just gathering dust in the main hallway, overlooking the front door. Everyone would notice it going missing. But it was not supposed to be hung up like some artifact… it was meant to be used. Unfortunately, you are also far too small to use it properly right now, but it is a legacy you wish to uphold. (Gain Item: Winter Fluch)

[]Jacques Computer: Your father always hid secrets on his computer, and you are going to download all the files from that thing before you leave. If he tried to chase after you… well, you hope he would not mind a little bit of his dirty laundry coming to light. (Gain Item: SDC Files)

[]Mother's Revolver: Once, a long time ago, when your mother was young, she dreamed of being a huntress. She stuck to a tradition where she would use only dust… but instead of a sword or dagger, she used a Mechashift Pistol she designed herself. She lost sight of those dreams when she married Jacques… and lost any hope of being a huntress when she realized that she was trapped in a loveless marriage. Now it just sat in a room. Unloaded… because if she had loaded it, Mother may have killed herself years ago in a drunken episode. (Gain Item: Schneefall)

[]Grandfather's Coat: A Soft Red Wool Coat, made by his mother when he was a young man when his father died. It was a fixture of Nicholas Schnee, even more than his famous suit of armor that he wore on expeditions. It was something that many remembered him in, with a jolly laugh, a well-kept beard… a round belly… A warm smile. It was far too big for you to wear properly, but… you couldn't leave it here. It still smelled of peppermint… it still smelled of him. (Gain Item: Grandfather's coat)

[]Weiss' Scarf: A gift from Weiss on your birthday. It was a red scarf that was embroidered with the Schnee family Emblem. She made it for you… to celebrate how far you have gone to be better. To be worthy of your name. (Gain Item: An Embroidered Scarf)

[]Fake ID: Your Father was… paranoid for your safety, and always planned to travel as different people, so that you were never… targeted for kidnapping and ransom. It always worked out in the end. It may even help you stay away from your father. (Gain Item: Fake ID)

[]1 Million Lien: You were pretty sure that all these unmarked and untracked Lien cards were for emergencies only, like ransoms, or hostage negotiations with the White Fang, if they ever reached the house. Oh well, this counted as an Emergency. (Gain 1 million Lien)

[]Winter's Comm: Winter gave Weiss one of her private communicators. One that could contact her anywhere in the world. It was... a gift, to stay in touch. To remind Weiss and you both that she was okay. (Gain Item: Atlas Specialist Comm link)

[]Huntsmen License: Mother… never formally passed Atlas Academies final test. However, she was granted a huntsman license by General Ironwood because she… well did everything else before she got married. With a little bit of hacking, you can turn yourself into a licensed… if not fully legal, Huntsmen. (Gain: Blank Huntsmen License.)

[]The Archives: The Schnee Family Archives… They were digitized five years ago and are now a private collection that only a select few could even access. Lucky you, you had access to all those books… maps, and plans from when Nicholas was still alive. (Gain: The Archives Scroll)

Now you just need to go… somewhere.

Where do you go anyway?

[]Vale: A Land of Fresh Starts and opportunities. Safe… for the most part, prosperous, and a place where you can begin again… the only problem is people noticing a white-haired runaway who looks suspiciously like… well Whitley Schnee.

[]Vacuo: A Land where titles and names do not matter. Scared by war and still rebuilding, Vacuo is a perfect place to find yourself. No one cares who you are in Vacuo… only what you can do.

[]Mistral: A Land of Ghosts and Criminals. You only knew the stories. People could be criminals… people could be honest. It was a land of warriors, of celebrities on one side… and a seedy underworld on the other. No one was in between… But you could make things work.

[]Argus: The Northern coastline, a beautiful city and home to Sanctum Academy and the Brilliant 300 man melee. A Place where legends are born… and a quiet enough town that no one ever notices it.

[]Menagerie: THe Unofficial Fifth kingdom. The Promised Land to Faunus everywhere, and the last place where your father would ever look for you in. A rich land, a safe land… if only for one problem. The White Fang. They hate your family.

AN: Plan format please.

Also, enjoy.

It took you a moment to get Grandfather's sword. It was high above the mantelpiece, near one of the portraits that Jacques commissioned when Grandfather was old and dying, where he frowned.

The Power of Age, it was called, and your grandfather was again clad in armor, standing, but it held the same power that many portraits of your Grandfather had. But this one was different. His eyes were different.

They betrayed just how frail he was as he was dying, his health failing, and his family falling apart.

You think more than anything, the betrayal of Father's… well trust that he gave to your mother to manipulations.

But as you held the sword, you could feel its weight, and its power. This was no simple blade, no simple trophy to be adorned on the Mantelpiece of some mansion.

It wished to be used. You didn't know why you thought of that, but it reminded you of… well you. A boy wishing to honor the name, not having to use the blade that forged your name into the foundations of Remanent.

Unfortunately, it was so heavy and unwieldy. The blade fell onto the floor and stuck into the floorboards, a tiny bit of steel sticking into the floor.

Who finds you: D100 => 64

For a moment, you thought it was nothing. Not a soul heard your mistake.

"You know young master, most people when they plan to sneak away would try not to make a racket?" The voice of your butler stated.

You turned to see the man who ran the day-to-day operations of the Schnee Manor, Klein Sieben. His eyes were a dull brown, instead of his other many-colored eyes that appeared. "Klein... I"

"I am not here to send you to your room, nor send out an alarm to your father." his eyes became red as he blinked. "Though I ought to."

"You know why I have to Klein." You replied.

His eyes became pink. "Where did you get that bruise?" He asked, sounding very… very concerned. "Was it your father again?"

"No. It was my mother." You stated firmly, as you opened up a suitcase to place the sword into it, before shutting it.

That made Klien raise his eyebrows, before letting out a sneeze. "Do not lie to me young master for your-" His eyes were red and filled with anger.

"Stop Klein!" You raised your voice. "My mother hit me, and I won't stay here any longer."

"I cannot-" He tried to protest.

"Do you have any idea what it is like Klein? How has my life been dictated every moment, by a man who does not look out for my best interests? It is hell! It is not what my Grandfather would have wanted, so I'll live my life the way he would have wished."

"Alone and afraid, without any support," Klein stated. "Whitley you do not even know the first thing about the rest of the world. How to interact with it. It's dangerous and people will try to use you for their gains, without your best interest at heart."

"And staying here with my father will have my best interests at heart?" You asked, feeling a sense of catharsis in your tone.

Klein then let out a sigh, knowing your mind was set. He then picked up the sword case. "I protest this, with every fiber of my being, Master Whitley."

"Just to the Door Klein, I can carry it all by myself." You started as you wrapped the scarf around your neck. "I'll have to from now on."
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Weiss' scarf still smelled of her hand, coffee and peppermint as you walked over to the docks of Mantle. The Cargo ship that was docked in one of the estuaries was small, meant more for items that could not be carried by Airship to the continent, specialty goods, and parts for something at the embassy at Argus that needed to be carried by sea.

But it was the only way to get to Argus without needing to get through security, and possibly getting caught.

The captain looked at you. "Hold on kid… what are you doing here?"

"I'm trying to get to Argus." You stated. "This is the only ship going there, right?"

"Kid, this isn't a passenger liner, this is a cargo ship. Beat it." the captain stated.

You frowned and felt the tears well up in your eyes. "My parents just beat me for the first time in my life, and I can't go back to them for fear of my life and safety. Please just take some pity and just let me go to Argus."

The Captain raised an eyebrow, before looking at your ID. "Cole Crystal?" He said the fake name with a glare, looking at the photo of you and then to yourself. "Look a lot like that Schnee kid."

"So I'm told… everyone hates me for it." You replied.

The captain nodded and gave a small smile. "I wouldn't want to look like that shit anyway, because that kid seems to be nothing but Jacques Schnee's little bitch, always doing what daddy tells him to do. I'd hate it too."

He then handed over the ID. "Welcome aboard to the Tundra Trail Cole. I'll show you to a cabin."

"Why are you-"

"Kid, If I was in your shoes, and no one was there to help, I'd strike out on my own as well." He said. "I'll take you to Argus kid, but that's as far as you go."

"Thank you." You said. "Captain."

"Captain Riley" He replied. "Now come on."
-----------------------------------------------------------

Argus was beautiful. A wondrous place that was warm and… well home at the same time, with the summer snow still melting on the streets, being cleaned by robots or street cleaners.

People were everywhere, and it made it all more lively for it.

The school was out and children were playing in the streets, or in the local parks.

A perfect place to make your start your new life… a life to honor grandfather.

Ain't No Business like Snow Business:

- [X]Find a Place to Stay: You need to find a place to stay. A Place to Sleep, Eat, and… other things. Rolled: D100 => 2+5=7

Escape Roll: D100 => 78-25=53

You look and look for any place to stay in town. Every time you did, you received looks of pity, but also looks of confusion.

What was a child doing with a giant sword, trying to find a place to stay?

At the last apartment interview, you saw police trying to find you, looking for a child with white hair for questioning.

For a moment, you were almost caught, but then some kid with red hair just… pulled you aside, and gave you a quick, warm smile. And as the officers walked past you and the girl with red hair, she just gave a wordless nod.

"Thank you." you said with a small bow of your head.

But then the red-haired girl was gone as if she was never there.

Failure!

You are still homeless, and the Police are now looking for someone with your description.

And you feel a little stressed out because of sleeping out in the streets, fearing for your property. Thankfully it's warm, and it's summer.

-[X] Smarter than the Smarties: You saw an ad for a marketing firm that is laughably… incompetent. You can make that company the next big thing in two weeks… Tops. You'll get a fee of course Rolled: D100 => 95+5=100

The Firm: Argus Marketing… Gods what a simple, stupid name… was currently a twenty-person operation, and they were frantically working when you walked in the door, Sword, Scarf, and swagger in all.

No one noticed when you just set the sword down in a cubicle and walked to the boss man's office. "Hello."

"Tell him we need a star, not some half-baked kid who won the Sanctum Tournament, that isn't special, even if she's from Argus!" The man in front of the desk replied as the boss tried to speak back to him.

"Jack, we can't find any huntsmen who are willing to sign on, and we are losing money faster than our contracts are paying out, we can't wait!"

Hesitation on an upcoming talent that was not signed by any company? Were these people idiots not using the hometown hero, or was there something more?

"Hello." You stated.

"Mark, why the fuck is there a kid in my office?" the employee in front of the boss's desk, Jack stated as he glared at you. "Scam kid, adults are busy!"

"Well then, when you slide into irrelevance and bankruptcy instead of fame and fortune, perhaps you will change your tone when someone, trying to hire people who know what they are doing. Goodbye." You turned around and took a step.

"Wait!" Mark, the boss, stopped you in your tracks with his voice. "You saw our ad?"

"Yeah, it's terrible, in fact, you are completely worthless when it comes to actually market anything, even yourselves." You stated bluntly. If you were in charge of this cowboy operation, you would make damn sure to fire everyone involved with that debacle.

"Hey you little shit-" Jack, started as you put your hand on the door.

"Do you wanna make a two hundred percent profit increase in the next quarter?" You asked as you had them right where you wanted them. "With the potential to Triple the size of your currently abysmal market share where people will actually care… about this company?"

Both men looked at each other before Jack said. "I don't know who the heck you are, kid… but you can't go making claims that can't be done."

"Are you in charge here Mark?" You asked.

"Yes, I'm the owner of the company, Jack is my assistant." Mark replied.

"Fire him so I never have to hear his voice again, and I'll work for you at half my usual Fee." You stated.

"I don't even know who you are?" Mark stated.

"And if you want my help to make this company profitable, you will do what I say, when I say it, or your company will go down with you.." You replied with a voice of ice. "And make sure you pay me on time, I'm not a charity worker."

Jack was furious. "This is a kid!"

"He has ten seconds to leave, or I walk out the door." You stated. You held all the cards, now whether this idiot decided to place faith in you, or not was irrelevant. You had the power here, not them and it made you feel oh so good.

"Jack… leave." Mark was gobsmacked as you took a seat, getting comfortable in a chair. "Who are you?"

"Cole Crystal." You started with a smile. "Now, onto business shall we... Let's talk about the winner of the Tournament… Pyrrha Nikos. Has anyone else come to her yet about being her agent… and what is her financial situation with her parents?"
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It took two hours to fire all the rot and the parasites that really didn't do anything to help the company besides… well being there… Two days to find out that Pyrrha's family was in desperate need of money, willing to sign a contract to use her likeness for a percentage of the profits, and two weeks to get her on the box of Pumpkin Pete's Marshmallow Surprise, with a hefty 100 million Lien coming in from that deal by the end of the quarter.

With even more clients to come, now that Argus Marketing had proven to be run by marketing geniuses.

You had saved the Floundering Argus Marketing from destruction…

To be honest, it was easier than you expected, mostly because you didn't even need to use your name.

And made a nice paycheck for your reward.

You could have asked for some shares, and dividends from profit for all the work you did, but you didn't want to be tied down to a… Marketing firm.

Especially one you did not start yourself, or could get a controlling interest in.

Reward: Gain: 100,000 Lien.

Cole Crystal is whispered as this Wonderkid who just showed up and brought a firm from the brink to relevance.

You feel extremely satisfied with your work.

Detection Roll: D100 => 17-30= (-)13

You had expected some… at least cursory searches after your house hunt… but you found out that…

Apparently, Father already found you, as was parading someone who looked very similar to you to one of his speeches.

He was using a body double?

"And we will find the miscreants who have stolen Nicholas Schnee's Sacred sword, and it will be returned to where it belongs!"

… You smiled.

Good luck with that Old man, you couldn't find a bottle of whiskey in your liquor cabinet, right in front of you, good luck finding someone in Remnant who will actually know what the sword looks like.

You didn't know your father employed body doubles for the family? But given the string of White Fang Assassinations on SDC Board members…

Reward: For the next Two Turns, you will not be looked for, so the Detection Roll is suspended due to your father parading a body double around in public.

He might be waiting for some eyes to be drawn away from his discretionary actions.

He must really want to find you.

What do you do:

You have Two Actions.

[]Find a Place to Stay: You need to find a place to stay. A Place to Sleep, Eat, and… other things.

[]Tougher than the Toughies: You see that there is a small Tournament going on, for novices, with the prize money being 50,000 Lien… enough money to start.

[]The Invincible Girl: Pyrrha Nikos is now the most popular girl in Argus... so why does she look at you with such longing eyes... Does she know your secret?

[]Wonderkid: Cole Crystal has been cordially invited to a social gathering at one of the town's social Centers, the Red Dragon. You could refuse. But it has been a while since you've been to a social party.

[]Shopping Spree: You have money... now is the perfect time to spend it. (Starts a Shopping Turn)

[]Hire Some Help: You need to get some employees, people who can help you with your ambitions. There are bound to be some people here that are willing to work on the ground floor of something amazing! (Start a Hiring Turn)

[]Making Things Square: You are going to found your own business, and you were going to make cash in a way that will help people. (Start Building a business Turn)

[]The Sanctum Route: You want to… be a huntsman. And maybe you can convince the headmaster in charge of Sanctum to let you in.

[]A Blade and a Wielder: You want to be able to at least use the Blade… So it's time to start Training.

[]Wander: You are going to wander around the city… maybe you'll find something interesting.

A New Blanket:

- [X]Find a Place to Stay: You need to find a place to stay. A Place to Sleep, Eat, and… other things. Rolled: D100 => 64+5+10 (Money)=79

You looked at the apartment. It was a small loft, a bedroom, kitchen dining room combo, with a shower. The furnishings were added in and there was a connection to the CCT.

This place was perfect, and it only cost you 20,000 Lien to rent it for a long time.

"Yeah the previous owner left in quite a rush, and he didn't even pay. We already took all of his equipment and gave it to the police, but if you find anything, let us know." The landlord stated.

"Who lived in this apartment?" You asked.

"Don't know, some doctor who was a techie. He always muttered about things he lost out on his chance. Left the city in a hurry when some Atlas Soldiers disappeared."

"You think he did it?" You asked.

"Who knows. All I know is that the asshole didn't pay rent his entire time here." The Landlord sighed. "Why are you asking so many questions, kid?"

"Just curious." You asked.

Reward: You now have a safe place to stay at night. To rest and recover. +2 Actions.

-[X]The Invincible Girl: Pyrrha Nikos is now the most popular girl in Argus... So why does she look at you with such longing eyes... Does she know your secret? Rolled: D100 => 94+5(Social Malus ignored by DETERMINATION!)=99

You saw the girl with red hair before she saw you… or was it the other way around, you didn't know, but the sword you carried on your back was… comforting, giving you the courage to walk up to her.

"I never got to thank you for the save from the cops." You stated, sneaking up on her, causing her… you didn't feel anything, but the sword seemed to move on its own, like it was alive off your shoulders, before it rested back, the strap softly tugging down.

"I don't know what you are talking about." She replied.

"So you're just an identical twin of another girl with red hair?" You replied, folding your arms. "I may be young, but I'm not stupid."

Far from it.

That made her scratch the back of her head. "Oh… Hello Again." She gave a nervous smile. "Pyrrha Nikos."

"Cole… Cole Crystal." You replied, offering a hand.

Hesitation went up the spine of the redhead. "You… were the one who the men from the officer were talking about? The Wonder kid… you're a child?"

You sighed. "Surprised?"

"No… Amazed. I thought that… I was young getting burdened with trying to provide for my family." She stated, sounding more awestruck than jealous.

You rolled your eyes. "I don't have a family… at least any I care about, I'm all on my own."

That made the redhead frown. "You're an orphan?"

"Far from it, though I wish I was, it would make my life make far more sense... My father is an asshole, and my mother is a drunk who both neglected and abused me for their own ends, so I left them." You replied. "I love my sisters, but I never felt safe. So I left, striking out on my own like my family always has."

"Are you trying to become a huntsman?" She asked.

"I don't know. All I want to do with my life is live it well enough to make my grandfather proud." You stated. "And no offense, I don't think he would approve of me being a huntsaen when I can do something far more with my time and energy."

Pyrrha frowned. "I'm… well I'm just, surprised."

"About what?" You asked.

"You strike me as a huntsman… or at very least consider to be one." She said, seeming confused. She must have built you up somehow… but now… it was a shattered mirror.

Your mind flashed back to a bloody hand, a broken mirror…

A Snowflake Glyph.

The happiest day of your short miserable life.

"Well, I have the freedom to choose. You do too." You replied. "You just need to stand up for yourself and take charge of your own fate. Of your own destiny."

Pyrrha Investigation roll: D100 => 25+20(Genius)+5 (Diligent)-10 (Shy)=40

She nodded. "I… Thank you Cole."

She seemed lost in thought, like she was trying to piece something together, but brushed it aside. "I hope we get to see each other again."

"I hope so too." You replied. "Maybe we can talk about fate and destiny, and how we can change it."

Reward: Ally/Employee Met: Pyrrha Nikos (Rank: Sanctum Student, Amateur Adventurer)

New Actions Available.

Winter Fluch: Grandfather's Greatsword, an elegant weapon from a far more honest… civilized age, one without Jacques Schnee existing to pollute the Schnee name (Due to your size, you only gain a +5 to combat rolls. Canon Omake: Calling (Part 1 of 2)
Calling (Part 1 of 2)

When Little Whitley was four years old, he enjoyed listening to the stories of his Grandfather, Nicolas Schnee, of the adventures he had so many years ago, even if he sometimes got a little lost in the details of such.

He was sitting in his lap as usual, his granfather wering his old red cloak, smelling of peppermint as usual, hearing him recount the stories of his times as an adventurer alongside his companions.

"...And there was I, separated of my team during my guard duty in the middle of the night, not being able to make sure that my team could rest safe knowing that I would alert them of any danger," The old veteran narrated to him in a dramatic tone, as he put his wrinkled hand on top of his grandsons' head, petting him as he usually did. "There was a massive horde of Grimm, separating me from my companions, closing in to the cave we had made our little refuge while they were stil asleep".

As he recounted his tale to Whitley, he took a moment to look at him, "There were so many of them, from Beowulf to Ursas, to Taiju's and even Nevermores! Truly, maybe we should have attempted to evade the horde before them instead of destroying them" The old man scratched the back of his head, a sheepish grin on his face as he remembered the actions that had led their team to said situation.

Young Whitley looked at the face of his Grandfather, "But Grandpa! You destroyed the bad Grimm you did good!" He told this at his grandfather, confusion in his eyes, not understanding why would it be wrong to stop the big mean grimm, after all, his grandfather had just stopped a bunch of evil monsters, didn't he?

At his grandsons' confused look, Nicolas couldn't help but let a good natured laugh at the innocence of his grandson, "Ho Ho Ho! Yes, we did good, but the great scandal we made attracted this horde to our resting place, and that is dangerous, little snowflake." He exxplained at his grandson, in order to alivianate his confusion.

Little Whitley let out a little 'Oh' after giving it a moment of thought, which signaled Nicolas to continue his tale "Yes, I needed to wake up the rest of my team, but I also needed to deviate the horde from them," the elder Schnee looked at his grandson once more, "Do you have any idea of what I did, little snowflake?" Little Whitley though for a few moments before answering with a little 'Nope!' Nicolas answered "I turned on my radio, set it on full volume, and proceded to let alert them with my special signal!" Nicolas exclaimed, before askning his grandson once more, "Do you know what that is, little snowflake?" with a little grin on his face.

Little Whitley's face lit up, he knew this one! "The Sloth call!" he answered with a big smile on his face.

The elder Schnee let out another jovial laugh, "Ho Ho Ho! Yes, indeed, I used my secret call to awake my companions!" Nicolas took a moment to clear his throat, "Ejem... KURRRWA! KURRRWA! KURRRWA!" He let out his 'Secret Call', to illustrate it to his grandson.

Nicolas laughed alongside his grandson for a moment before resuming "Yes, I managed to awake my companions with my calling, and I attracted the attention of the Grimm towards me, a risky move, but I knew that I would be able to come out on top!" he, once more, asked another question to his grandson, "Do you know why, little snowflake?!"

Little Whitley already knew the answer to this question, "Because of Winter Fluch, right?" he has seen the sword in the hallway, awed at something so big being used by his grandfather.

Nicolas laughted once more, "Ho Ho Ho-!" He than started to cough, forcing him to stop laughing.

Little Whitley inmediately grew worried about his grandfather, "Grandpa!? are you alright?" this wasn't the first time he had seem him coughing, but Little Whitley always felt worried about him when he did.

Nicolas waved his hand, attempting to soothe his grandson's concern "Bah, it's just a tiny cold, nothing to worry about! Anyways, where was I...?" Nicolas faked thinking about it for a few seconds, " Ah, yes, my sword, great and beautiful and trusty! Yes, I knew that I would be able to fend off many Grimm with my sword on my own," he took a pause, looking at his grandson in the eye, a serious expression on his face, "But no, Whitley, it was because I knew that my team would come to my aid in short, so I knew that I wouldn't need to worry about being defeated, because they would come in my aid, and, true to my expectatives, they did."

Nicolas put his hand on the hair of his grandson, "Whitley, always remember, no man can do everything on his own, you need people you can trust so you can truly rise to the top, you understand, right?".

Little Whitley was only able to nod at his grandfather, he didn't really understood right now, but when his grandfather acted like this, he knew he was serious.

Nicolas then took a moment to look at Little Whitley, before letting one more of his laughs "Ho Ho Ho! Sorry to dampen the mood, little snowflake, what if I compensate for that with some tiny lessons about how to properly use my secret calling!" He said, a happy grin on his face.

Once again, Little Whitley's face lit up at the thought of being able to properly use his calling, he always loved when his grandfather taugth him things! He nodded entusiastically at the offer.

"Ho Ho Ho! alright, little snowflake, the trick is in the tongue and the lungs..."

AN: I swear, this wasn't supposed to go on like this, it was originally only a flashback in the beginning and the calling stuff later, but then it took conciousness of it's own and it ended up like this.

Next part it will be about shenanigans with Present!Whitley, I promise!

Youhad never really been one who tried to make things easy for yourself. But you knew much about the way in business… In fact, economics was something you found boring.

Not because of the boom, bust or crashes, that constituted the modern economy, with supply lines, global communications and capital that made you think very long and very hard about many… things.

And you realize something.

It was like a game that was constantly shifting and moving… but it had patterns. Everyone economists agrees to that, but they never know how.

So you just thought about the market being an utterly drunk shit that moved things on a Lien.

You knew that people needed to see the quality of a product or a service, and there was a need to constantly improve. To not do so would promote stagnation, or worse, monopoly that was like the SDC, a brutal repressive company that lost sight of it's traditions, of it's roots.

It made you have a greater appreciation of your father and his… buyouts.

It made you realize he was an even bigger fool than you thought he was.

He was so concerned about competition, he did not think about innovation.

Gain Stat in Stewardship: To Master Level: You are among the great business minds in the world, and even if you were not in the field, your wisdom is duly wished for. (+30 to Steward rolls.)

You panted as you set the blade on the ground. "You are a monster!" you complained.

Pyrrha only smiled. "Well you were the one who took my offer, and you will get good at fighting… or you can leave. You choose."

You narrowed your eyes and fritted your teeth, lifting the heavy blade onto your shoulder. "Bring it!"

"That's the spirit." Pyrrha smiled as she ran towards you.

It wasn't even a fight… but you did learn.

Reward: You are now competent at Combat.

Pyrrha is a surprisingly good teacher.

Your body was absolutely broken by the training over the weeks.

You could not really study the way your grandfather had in his youth.

It didn't make you feel any better.

It was a trap!

You didn't know who wanted to kidnap you, but you were led into an interview room with a few men…

They locked the door and tried to drug you.

It was only through the quick thinking with glyphs, knocking over the table and the window that the room had, that you escaped.

Why the hell would someone kidnap you? No one should know who Cole Crystal is!?

Who would be interested in some boy who was just a good businessman?

Failure:

You were almost taken prisoner by an unknown perpetrator. They think you are some kind of criminal playing yourself off as legitimate… or something?

You don't know.

Meanwhile:

"Is it him?"

"Yes."

"good, continue to monitor the situation. But do not interfere. I want to see if he knows anything."

"Yes sir."

Continued in the Rumor mill.
