The Land of the Red Fraction - An Arthurverse Tale - Claims and Discussion Thread

Claim: The Ashikaga Shogunate
Shogun: Ashikaga Yoshiteru
Expected Heir: Ashikaga Yoshihisa
History:

When the Mongols invaded, the Ashikaga wound up leading the resistance after the old Hojo Shoguns met a series of unfortunate accidents involving several suicides, a lynching or three, a couple of murders, and their ultimate overthrow, and would assume the position of Shoguns after successfully ejecting the Mongols from most of Japan. Establishing themselves in Osaka, which was vacant after the Mongols were removed, the Ashikaga have since been involved in a struggle for power with the Imperial clan as well as making constant efforts to extend Imperial rule across the length and breadth of Japan once more.

Oh and the current Shogun once stabbed a dozen swords into two mats and thus became the first person to wield a dozen swords at once, honest.

Map:

The Osaka Region, I can't do a map yet.
I thought you had Kamakura?

Admittedly, Osaka is probably the wiser choice of a base.

Also @JBO, there's another possible outcome for this game;

We go full shonen, testosterone gets everywhere, and it ends with all the Daimyo teaming up to defeat me in an epic duel of epic proportions that occurs while we're running up the side of an impossibly tall wall and then there's explosions, people channel their energy into a dragon punch, and then boom, kapow, things happen, the day is saved, and the survivors start a high school and it becomes slice of life.

Kublai Khan as the season 2 villain?
That or the Ghost of Genghis.

The Ashikaga were based out of Kyoto and historically lacked territory which is why they were so weak compared to their predecessor and successors. Here the Mongols present an opportunity to reverse some of that weakness with Osaka being a good place to establish themselves out of while leaving the Emperor Kyoto.

If anything a revived Oda Nobunaga should be the villain.

Not complaining about no longer being the literal frontline, just curious.

Hmm, Sengoku Basara just isn't doing it for me. I'm going to go for something different.

Yes, they are Huns not Mongols but that's not the most ridiculous thing in this thread.

As I find it difficult posting edited maps on this site, could someone edit a map to show my claim of Yamaguchi Prefecture.
