"So Aiko, how have you been? It's been awhile," you said, ignoring the odd glares from Atsutane.
"I've been doing great! I actually just moved out a bit ago," Aiko replied, her eyes lighting up.
"Oh? By yourself, or is there a boy in the mix?" you asked teasingly.
"No, it's with my girlfriend, Makoto! We just recently managed to get enough money to get our own place. It isn't much, but its nice," Aiko said dreamily. "I don't know if you remember Makoto though..."
"Kinda," you shrug, a hazy image of a tan girl with brown hair floated through your mind, a memory of when you trained with Fumi's team years ago. "But that's good! So, why are you here at your parent's house then?"
"Oh, I just like helping around. Atsutane here needs some assistance-"
"I am not a cripple, Aiko," Atsutane suddenly interjected, looking fiercely at Aiko.
"I didn't mean it like that, Atsutane!" Aiko gasped, looking embarrassed. Atsutane rolled his eyes but said nothing else. After coughing awkwardly into her hand, Aiko said, "Makoto is also away on a mission right now, so I figured mom and dad could use a bit of help since my place is in tiptop shape!"
"Well that's nice of you," you replied.
"Aiko, I would like some tea. I'm sure our guest would ask for the same," Atsutane suddenly said, looking at Aiko.
"Oh! Okay, I'll do that!" Aiko happily said. You eyed Atsutane wearily, it was clear he wanted to speak about something. Aiko stood up and went into the kitchen to prepare some tea. Once Aiko left, Atsutane sighed and blinked, but when he opened his eyes, they revealed the Sharingan.
"Are you threatening me?" you coolly asked.
"No, I just want to make sure you aren't a homewrecker," Atsutane bluntly said.
"Huh?"
"My father has been gushing about you ever since he got back from that mission, citing how brave and powerful you are. You made an impact with him, he even tried to visit you in the hospital. Then you come here to personally thank him? Excuse me if I think something is going on," Atsutane coldly said.
"You think Sozen and I are going to have an affair?" you asked incredulously before laughing loudly. "Listen, I just wanted to thank him for saving my life, he was the only decent person on the last mission. I've only known him for a few days, I have no intentions of stealing him away.
"Hmph...I didn't see any signs of you lying..." Atsutane muttered before turning off his Sharingan. "I apologize. I've always been...weary about new people. Father can be excitable, but still..."
"It's fine, it's fine!" you chuckled, "I promise Sozen and I are just friends, okay? I have no intention of doing anything like that."
"...Alright," Atsutane sighed. From there, an awkward and heavy silence filled the room. Atsutane decided to pull out a book from his robe and began to read it, pointedly ignoring you. Thankfully Aiko came back, saying that the tea was beginning to boil.
"Huh? Atsutane! Why are you reading? It's kinda rude when we have a guest!" Aiko exclaimed.
"I am feeling tired. I shall return to my room," Atsutane said, quickly standing up.
"Atsutane!" Aiko quickly grunted, moving over to him. You raised a hand to stop Aiko.
"It's fine, he looks like he could use a nap anyway," you said with a grin. Atsutane rolled his eyes as he left the room. Aiko pouted but didn't stop her brother, instead sitting down to talk with you again. You made small talk with Aiko until the tea was ready. By the time Aiko had gotten back with the tea, the door opened up. Turning around you saw Sozen with a woman, who was easily identifiable as Pakura.
"Oh, Nou!" Sozen said in surprise as he brought in bags of groceries.
"Gimme a moment," Pakura said, bringing in more bags. Aiko quickly ran over to help her mother and they rapidly put everything in the kitchen. Soon, Pakura and Sozen were sitting on the couch across from you, while Aiko now sat next to you, making a cup of tea for everyone.
"First thing's first, I'm so glad you're out of the hospital!" Sozen cheerily said.
"Thank you, and honestly that's why I came here. I wanted to say thanks for helping me," you graciously said, bowing your head.
"Huh," Pakura grunted, crossing her arms. She was a serious looking woman with dark green hair tied into a large, spherical bun, the bangs framing her face were a dull orange. "Well, you do have manners, eh?"
"I try to," you smoothly replied. You instantly knew that Pakura was one of the people who would judge you due to being a Jinchuriki.
"Dear, please," Sozen coughed. Pakura took a large gulp of tea before speaking.
"Sorry. You can't be that bad if Sozen here thinks you're alright," Pakura said, sounding rather unapologetic but you brushed it off. She was doing better than most, honestly.
"I get that all the time. Anyway, I did what I came here for, I'll leave now," you said, standing up.
"Wait!" both Sozen and Aiko said. They looked at each other, smiling at the coincidence. Aiko continued, "We'd love to have you over for dinner, right mom and dad?"
"I was thinking the same thing!" Sozen replied.
"Sure, the more the merrier, right?" Pakura said with a shrug.
Well? Do you want to stay for dinner?
[] Sure. Sozen and Aiko seem rather excited about it!
[] Decline. Pakura and especially Atsutane would make it really awkward.
