I am going to strenuously object to any plan including this or weapons manufacturing. We already are on very thin ice diplomatically speaking what with the EU, the superpower overseeing this area, and NI, the strongest kid in the block by far, not liking us very much due to our actions. Becoming an arms dealer on top of that is not something we need right now.
That would definitely make sense to me. Just trying to study them and not rolling absolutely horribly will also likely reduce the effort needed.@Karf Will Nanomachine forge reduce the DC of Silver Nanites 2? If not what will?
Aquaculture then? Dunno how good that'd be for $$$I am going to strenuously object to any plan including this or weapons manufacturing. @Karf can you clarify how this choice would change retrying the fission plant? Would going with the second lower the DC? the first one raise it? and how expensive would a fission plant be? could we afford it with our current income and reserves without going into negative cash flow or debt?[ ] Prismdust project

You were sold the second he mentioned money. Sure your vassal might become more independent from you and closer to Europe and by extension New Ireland, plus your own project wouldn't be gaining any progress, but it's not a big loss.
-[ ] Veto
You can afford to isolate your subject and draw them closer under your influence. Also, your own project will continue as planned; perhaps with a minor setback, but you've had those before and you'll get over it.
If we want short term immediate gain the options I can see is contacting the private resort to see if we can sell our food to them, building the areogel quarry and selling the raw material, building the silver nanite forges for selling more nanites, could synergize well due to one of our freighter contracts specializing in transporting such high value low mass goods, or going for aquaculture or the bakery to increase food exports and local sales. The last to are probably the least profitable but I am leaning towards one of them due to their synergy with our food focus and also doubling as low level quality of life improvements by increasing the quality and variety of food available.
Rolling a 3 is basically what I mean by rolling absolutely horribly, so if you veto the deal and get them to work on it, then let's call it a -5 to DC (or +5 to the roll if it's relevant the very next turn, effectively the same), whereas allowing them to go all in on a contract means that they'll not be available to work the uranium mines for you. Gaining access to it (and at the time, I didn't realize that they didn't have people who could build the reactor, aka dice) knocked off 30, so some middling complications, lets call it a raise of 10.@Karf can you clarify how this choice would change retrying the fission plant? Ok with this I feel we should wait for making the fission plant because we need that money from making a deal with the EU. Plus not letting them take the deal is likely to anger them, this is a near perfect opportunity for them.Rolling a 3 is basically what I mean by rolling absolutely horribly, so if you veto the deal and get them to work on it, then let's call it a -5 to DC (or +5 to the roll if it's relevant the very next turn, effectively the same), whereas allowing them to go all in on a contract means that they'll not be available to work the uranium mines for you. At the moment, you have access to the nuclear fuel that would generate running costs by paying for Prismdust. The upfront cost is estimated in the DC, if something would drive you deep into debt then it'd have an apropriately high DC to signify finding an alternative that you can afford. Not to say that there's no operational cost to the plant, from maintanence to the fuel, as you don't own PD outright, but for the sake of simplicity, let's leave the exact bookkeeping to the accountants in-universe.
I promise I don't have an excel table with every expense tallied that I hide from the players, it's managed by feel alone. We both agree that a fission plant seems like something that's pretty darn expensive, but that's about as far as the math goes. I'm sorry I don't have a more clear or concise answer to the question of cost. If some project is going to completely tank your budget, I'll make sure to have plenty of hints and lines to signify as such.
Diplomatic ties and promises:
Embassy on New Ireland established in 2180
Provide supplies and funding to the Prismdust research outpost in return for research
EU provides security grants for extra actions in the relevant field
I thought we had a ongoing deal to buy housing with Deckard Station? Has that been canceled or does that not go here?(Steady increase in housing availability established, Deckard Station happy with the deal.)
Shouldn't we be including the free AI action in the plan then?Allowing self modification so we have effectively a free action in AI research, something that should be very helpful in helping Hailey and general bonuses.
I feel like a medical focus would be a better idea for Lena's action.
She's already warned us that we need a more advanced hospital, what with three cancer surgeries. Plus, full hospital means medical tourism.
It is stated in the update it is outside of our control but is the equivalent to a free action in AI research.[X] Plan Inward Focus
