The Enemy Within (WHF Witch Hunter Quest)

[X] Yes
[X] Pressure the wavering

Not feeling too frisky about fighting head on, and the authorities won't accept our evidence, so....

[x] Yes
[x] Raid the ritual

"Oh, fuck off," Spätin grunts, shaking her head to clear her head, "I agreed to go with you to the Colleges, I didn't agree to swallow all your fucking dogma. If I'd asked, you would have said no, and then we wouldn't know about tomorrow's ritual or anything, now would we?"
In Spätin's defence, having got her to agree to go to the Colleges we're hardly likely to kill her now.

Criminal Schiminal, I want a good healer. Plus we've got a crew of dubiously legal characters already anyway.

And so, lo and behold, the QM descended from on high to grant the party an NPC healer... a tale old as time.

[X] Yes

Honestly torn between Pressure and Raid since I'm worried that whatever spellcaster they have will be able to detect treachery somehow. @Maugan Ra , am I correct to assume that if we vote to Raid, Markus will attempt to get aid from the sympathetic guards?

As for the raid... is it just going to be the four of them crashing the party if that option gets chosen @Maugan Ra ?
If so then that's a rather dicey proposition
It's unknown how much of the Ordo is actually aware of their darker dealings, but even just the inner circle plus their bodyguards is a risky proposition for just four adventurers, one of whom has no direct combat skills

If you opt for the raid, then Markus would by default consider getting some backup, and likely spend a chunk of the day arranging it ready for the evening.

@Maugan Ra if we can't get the watch and other normal authorities for assistance in a future raid, can we ask the priest we just convinced to help us provide some help? Nothing fancy like the watch, just more bodies like the gang that tried to intimidate Markus. Can we also ask Max (and in the future Magirius if possible) to help us get the assistance of the more violent gangs or sympathetic guards in the city during the raid under the promise of coin? I'm sure they'll at least be cheaper than mercenaries.

Having Max and other disreputable sorts on your payroll is indeed meant to allow you to bring in other criminals and/or 'local colour' to assist in breaking some skulls, yes.

Markus will at the very least consider where to get some backup and make plans to approach those options, yes.

@Maugan Ra bit of a spoilery question regarding Elvyra for a small part of the next chapter's intro.

If we take Elvyra with us what does that mean for her niece / apprentice Liza? Would she be butterflied somehow or also tag along?

There's a few options I could take there, and honestly I'll figure it out a bit closer to the time, especially since one of the bigger things I'd want to try and do is actually tie that chapter into the wider plot or make the instigating villain reappear or relevant in some fashion.

Fun fact when I ran this campaign for my current group (they're a few sessions into book 4, the Horned Rat, right now) they didn't meet Elvyra during the Schaffenfest, because she's really easy to miss and even if you do encounter her, there's no reason to follow up in Weissbruck later unless you have a player interested in becoming an apothecary. Which makes the decision to centre the entire first chapter of Death on the Reik around her... tricky.
