The intention was to update today, but my writing time got monopolized by several other projects, including a chance at getting a job, naturally, the latter took priority and the former took more time than anticipated. I'm all tuckered out as a result.
That being said, I'll at least be giving daily status updates even if I get delayed by Things. I can also guarantee next Friday will be an off-day on account of heading in to get a gastroscopy done in a hopefully not vain attempt to figure out what the fuck is going on with my stomach and why it sometimes just freezes for hours on end after eating something.

Sleep could wait, you were confident you could go a while without any real rest–as long as you weren't doing anything exceptionally difficult, and that wasn't too hard to avoid. You even had some plans!.
They weren't necessarily good ones, but it was better than nothing. At the end of the day, your greatest asset against the Golden Man was yourself, you had maintained a ferocious pace so far, and it wasn't going to stop before the day was out. You felt like you had one good fight left in you before you'd hit your limit, and as long as you didn't do anything strenuous until then, it would be fine.
The most important thing, ultimately, was to get yourself properly equipped.
Fortunately, this wasn't… Unreasonably difficult. You could even kill two birds with one stone! Having a bunch of well trained experts tagging along with you, letting you get a feel for their tactics… Mostly spears, shields, well suited for guarding doors and fights in tight positions, especially with a shortsword for a sidearm.
Not the greatest in an open field, but ideally things won't get that far, you'll be in and out in one fell swoop and it won't even get to house to house fighting even! Hopefully!
You really do hope, things are already messy and you can't go on another rampage like you did before, it's messy and people are still needed to Do Things when things all settle down! You still need to figure out a cure for the Golden Man's magic after all.
Still, while most of the armouries had been looted of the good stuff, you did have a lot of people with you, and could just sort of shoulder-check your way through to some of the larger spots. Now you actually had a proper hauberk! As tough as your skin was, having good mail was always a step up. The more protection you had, the better off you'd be! That was the rule anyway. Sure, it was a little added weight, but being able to shrug off glancing blows entirely let you risk taking a lot bigger risks!
Though you'd still feel comfortable with something a bit heavier… Regardless though, it's not like you wouldn't just tire out with a few more layers before you were done. This'll have to do for now.
You even got your hands on a proper sabre! Maybe not one of the best ones that had ever been forged, but it was sharp, sturdy, and probably wouldn't break after one or two attacks! Should definitely be good for a few fights at least.

By Pain Reforged Upgrades are... Probably the most efficient upgrades at the moment. Not sure offhand what the difference between Shield and Hardened body is mechanically.

So I'm guessing from the Three Notches on each, we can always swing back and grab the other options we see. IE These aren't mutually exclusive.
Zaealix is probably right in that grabbing something to No Sell the Solar is probably the Smartest move. Factual Determination Analysis alone will help with him not being able to flat out lie, but as a Supernal Performance I'm sure he can pull the "From a certain Point of View" bullshit.

That and I can use my personal token to fill in one from By Pain Reforged, so we get the benefit of both.
The issue I'm having with IVR is that it feels like it would just deny lies even harder, rather than help us get closer to the truth? Maybe the Solar will try to twist their words, but FDA already catches "statement contains facts but is manipulated to mislead" under the specific Inconclusive result. AMI on the other hand would let us get a read on what motivations the Golden Man has that led him to do this, and is the option I'm currently leaning towards.
I suppose there's always just picking one of the combat options too, If we care less about the Solar's reasoning than making sure we beat their ass. "I don't want to know why you killed my family, I want revenge," etc.
