"No… NONO NO!" He screamed as he saw the men in suits and members of many multi-letter agencies take apart the house of Dr. Crane. It was almost impossible to really see just what they were taking, but considering the many many things they were taking, including John's clothing and Bed… You strongly suspected they were looking for anything that was indeed related to John.

But as he screamed you pulled him back, to hide in the alley. "We have to stop them!" He proclaimed, but you pushed him back deeper into the alley.

"With what?" You asked.

In your mind, you could hear Edmond huff, but knowing that it was only you, and him.

John paused, taking a moment to breathe before he just took a moment to sit down. "They are going to find me. They are going to kill me or turn me into some sort of weapon."

You then smiled. "This is Gotham, people disappear all the time. You just need to find a way to hide. Good news… we homeless are good at hiding from people that want to find us."

"But how?" He asked.

You picked him up and then just patted him on his back. "First, you got to leave everything behind."

As you walked away, you saw a Red Butterfly flapping its wings… glowing brighter, before vanishing into the sun.

Reward:

The notes of Dr. Crane have been discovered, and the US Government has decided to keep on looking for John, for his situation. They can now recreate the Fear Toxin… eventually.

Good news: You have helped John disappear into Gotham's underbelly.

Though now he has to learn how to live in it.

She turned, a knife aimed at your throat, but instead of hesitating or showing fear, you took a deep breath. "Little jumpy? Thought I was a cop?"

"I thought you would stop following me?" She replied as she pressed the blade. "What do you want?"

"To talk." You replied.

"Talk isn't cheap." She replied. "Who sent you?"

"No one." You stated.

She raised an eyebrow. "You told me off, and then you go looking for me. I've done what you asked, so leave me be. Our business is done."

You shook your head. "I don't think it is." You replied.

"Do you really trust her?"

I don't know. "Then why?" She asked. "Out of everyone in Gotham, you just happen to think I'm special?

"Yes." Edmond replied. "Look at her closer My Cellmate."

You then saw a red butterfly fluttering above her.

"Might be in need of a thief." You replied.

It's not a long one, but something tells you that The Crimson Room will help you.

You awoke in the Crimson Room and saw several pages and papers on the table, and you were surprised to see Edmond sitting… well floating above the table, as he smiled. "Truly my cellmate, you really need to not give up when there are things to learn."

You blacked once than twice before you said. "Huh, wait what are-"

"Much of Dr. Cranes Reaserch was indeed taken by the government that wishes to abuse it." He then laughed. "But not all of it."

You looked at the notes, and all of it was the notes detailing who exactly was patient and subject zero for the fear toxin. Along with many key components that can make the project get off the ground in a timely manner. "Oh, my god."

"I wouldn't go praising Him just yet my friend, but your friend, for the most part, will be safer than he was previously. And I think he will understand something."

You smiled. "Thank you."

"Do not thank me. Merely accept that others will be your greatest power. And that friend of yours may be one of the more powerful ones who can help you."

You nodded. "I do have a question though." You paused and felt a strange feeling in the back of your neck. "Can you teach me how to-?"

He smiled. "I do not think I have the ability to teach you… but I suspect someone waiting outside this place will."

You then paused. "Where is everyone?"

"On business to the Velvet Room. Something about a new guest that requires some… attention and warning about your peculiar situation. You may not interact with them, they are halfway across the world and are dealing with problems far above your pay grade. For now at least."

"Aw, that would be cool to meet them." You complained.

"You may not… Now I think it is high time to… wake up."

You're eyes fluttered open to see Cat at the window, and you rolled off your sleeping mattress towards your things. "Relax weirdo, I'm not here to steal you're stuff."

John came shambling in with a knife in his hand. "What the hell?"

"John put the knife down." You ordered, holding up your hand while he calmed down, and putting it down on the floor. "Okay, Cat, what are you doing here?"

"You got me thinking about things." She replied as she sat down. "Also, you really need to get more milk."

You looked at her side and saw the opened carton of milk. "Oh come on, that was our last Carton." You protested.

"Not anymore." She replied with a mischievous grin as she threw over papers. "Took these off some government types, thought they were worth something."

You looked at the papers, and John ran over to them, recognizing them immediately. "Holy, where did you get this?"

"Did you not listen?" Cat replied. "Stole it."

He flipped through the pages, and you felt the relief that dissipated off his body, as he crumpled to the floor. "The Fear Formula is here, same with my patient and test notes." He looked through them.

"When could you read this stuff?" You asked.

"Spend enough time around my dad, you learn," John replied. "Why are you doing this?"

Cat just shrugged. "Don't really know why. Maybe I thought you'd give me money. In fact, I still-"

You reached into your pocket and threw over a wad of bills and she caught it. "That's a thousand dollars."

Cat was surprised. "Not even negotiating?"

John looked at you, surprised, before he turned to face her. "You just saved my life… and stopped something evil."

Cat did not seem to understand. "Okay." She was freaked out by that. "So… What now?"

"I don't know." You replied. "Maybe a name, if we're going to have a working relationship?"

She sighed. "Selina."

Reward:

Due to Velvet and Crimson Room Schinanigans, Edmond was able to… help Selina steal the notes for the Fear Toxin, as well as John's… records and patient notes, meaning that any potential future Government project using the Fear Toxin will have to start entirely from scratch, save for a few notes, and that it's possible.

Bond Deepened with Selina: 2/10: She is a thief of Gotham, usually a petty one that helps her pay the rent for fencing and making sure she gets enough money to eat. She mostly works for herself, and the homeless friends that she makes. (All Stealth Rolls are increased by +5 when in your Party)

Stealth (Trained): You are good at hiding (no roll bonus to stealth rolls)

The Crimson Room has interesting things happening, and the Velvet Room is working with them right now.

Can now Form a Party for hunting Personas.

You meditated in the study as you've done every morning, first to figure out how to calm your heart rate and to review the last several days.

And you are grounded from the stunt you pulled involving Wayne Enterprise.

Now to be fair to Alfred…you didn't expect it all to go to hell so quickly. You thought you had at least twenty minutes before security came in to arrest you.

Clearly, the memo to improve the security reaction to a break-in had gotten to the Security Forces.

AND IT RUINED MY INVESTIGATION INTO THE CRANE CASE!! You scowled as you continued to look for data.

"Master Wayne?" Alfred said as he came in with a tea set, Two black tea packs.

You had forced him on light duties while he recovered even as his stay in the Hospital had long since ended.

"Hello, Alfred." You said. "Care to join me today?"

It was an agreed-upon request that he be ordered to enjoy tea together to maintain some of the agreed-upon decorum drilled into his (and your) head from an early age.

The two of you sat in comfortable silence for several minutes, agreeing and nodding when prompted.

"Shall we begin Master Wayne?" He said as he placed his cup on the tray.

"Begin what Alfred?" You asked, slightly confused.

"If you're going to get into trouble, Master Wayne, it's best you learn to get into it properly, so you can get out of it intact." He said.
It wasn't an endorsement of what you've done, but an order to learn from him.

"Who are you?" You said, it was banal, with the same feeling of loss you had felt since your parents death.
Because it cannot live without control, over life, over death, over the self. For it lashes out in pain it feels it cannot heal from.
"I am the Pain repaid to the City that has taken our family from us, the criminals that pulled the trigger, the corrupt politicians that eat Gotham's wealth and future for pleasure and power. I am the Vengence that will come from your pain." It said as the eyes widened.
He represents your desire for revenge upon the entire world…unshaken and unmovable.
"No…I don't want Vengence…its not what I want." You said. "I want Justice."
Its good that you've never lost your nobility Bruce. He is only acting out because you've yet to channel your anger into a way that will sate him. Don't blame him for being a fool.
"JUSTICE!" It shouted as the Cave Shook like the maw of a terrible beast as if the world itself was rejecting the very childish notion as an empty word.

"Don't make me Laugh child, Justice cannot stop the apathy and the weight of a City that has been doomed from the start. Its corruption is omnipresent like the scourge of a god, its people sapped of all forms of hope and even now the Monsters in the Dark have come to roost within the negativity of this world! It cannot be saved." He was so certain, how could he not be…
Don't give up on Zur, he's trying to make it all seem so appealing, but he can be reasoned to a better path. Eventually…he's young and foolish like you.
It was Gotham City, the Decaying City, one without any hope or release.
But nothing is ever easy with him, or you. Just letting you know.
