The Bloody Gates: A Penal Legion Meatgrinder (WH40k)

Rorschach Mundi is a Hive World as much as it is a War World, the solution to needing to replace workers would be 'ship them in from another Hive'.
Yes, but putting labors back to work shaves costs, both for transportation and retraining, as well as helps get the hive back operational again faster which means the goods come out faster. There are plenty of examples of rebellious populations, or even rebel soldiers, being put to work. Of course, they could order civilians massacred to make an example, or paranoia, or convenience, but 'kill them all' isn't necessarily the default.

Please bear in mind that I beta for the GM and helped him plan out the game. Whilst what he says obviously supersedes me, but I do know what I'm talking about.

Command probably won't care if you decide to shoot them yourself, but it isn't necessarily what they'd order either-Manpower is a commodity in vast surplus on Hiveworld, but it is still a commodity. Helots and Servitor feedstock has to come from somewhere, as do colonists.

@Easter @Kensai

I need your Roll20 names so I can give your tokens individual sight for the next section-since there's like 20 people on the Roll20 and not all the names are the same.

@greendoor in addition to the three glow globes, didn't I also get a stablight from a last-second round of trading before we assaulted the gates?

You did, my bad. The Stablight can be attached to a rifle, and is more reliable than the glowglobes, but will give a narrower 'Flashlight' style beam rather than a lantern style all around lighting.

I'll adjust the lighting as soon as I hear whose getting which pieces of lighting equipment.

Followup question that occurred to me; can I do a Lore(Rorschach Mundi) test to figure out if there would be an on-site junction box, transformer or backup generator to turn the lights back on, and if so, where the nearest one would be? With how sections of Hive Cities occasionally give way and collapse in hivequakes, having a decentralised power grid seems like the sort of measure one would have as a safeguard against manufactorums stalling out from power lines being severed (if not centrally planned for, then surreptitiously installed by the residents).

I'll have it come up next update. Good idea.

I believe my name on there is Easter Bellew with my display name being East.

Alright, gave you sight on the map. You shouldn't be able to see much beyond your token though-that'll change once you guys decides who gets the lights.

@Shephard @xjax1 @Svend @Kensai
Reminder update next Friday, and to post by then if possible.

(As a note for Kensai, you're still off map, so you'll have vision on the map when-and if, you manage to return).

Just to check, can I use people's lights in the distance to see? Atm I don't think I'll have the range to see even if I was given one of the lights.

You'd be able to see their lights yes, once they're turned on. The way it works right now is each person on Roll20 has Sight from their Token, which means you can see out from it, but others can't. The Glowglobes and Stablights will actively emit light that's visible for other characters.

Hmmm, then I think it would be best if I didn't have one actually. That way we can get the most like along the frontlines as possible.

In this situation I believe Albert would start firing into the mass of what seems to be drugged up, the best thing he can equate this to, enemies. Would someone want me to, and is able to tell albert to, do something else? To note this would not be into the initial layer of refugees, but into the more shaded mass of people that aren't reacting like they should be, since I figure I can do so since I have a heavy stubber.

Edit: alrightly going through with my plan.
