[X] "Pierre, Thankit. I want you two to go back to the tavern and round up some of the bored folk. We'll take this place by force and make it ours!" You'll grab some random crew members and enter as a third power in this growing contest of control over this abandoned district of Brionne.

Some questers just wanna watch the world burn. (It's me. I'm some questers)

[X] "Quite frankly, I think the city would actually benefit from some Skaven newcomers to liven up the community. It's quite rude to deport them so." You'll approach the Skaven and offer your help in driving off whatever threat comes their way to earn their gratitude.

Idk why we necessarily need another outpost this side of the old world.

"Pierre, Thankit," you mentioned, gaining both their attention at once. "I want you two to go back to the tavern and round up some of our bored folk. Grab whoever isn't drunk yet and tell them to grab their gear.

"We'll take this place by force and make it ours!" At the order, the two nodded and slipped off to make it so. That left you with Octavia, who you turned to with another task. "While they're grabbing our crew, let's start looking for a place to setup as a base of operations, just in case we end up being here for some time."

Octavia flashed a smile you really didn't like. Then she pointed out what was the only unoccupied building in the vicinity that also happened to control your secret way in and out. You immediately already began to regret your decision.

(Random Crew: ??)

Soon enough, your officers returned with a gaggle of pirates and cutthroats you idly recognized as being those from one of your Hawkships. They came to a stop in front of your chosen hideout and you could feel the judging gazes sear onto you. There was naught you could do but raise a hand to press against your face while Octavia cackled.

You hadn't quite exactly expected to live up to the stereotype of Lahmians running brothels, but well, here you were, making Grail of the Commonfolk your temporary headquarters. Gods be willing, it wouldn't keep that title after whatever you did this night. Still, there was a sense of deep embarrassment mixed with an offended pride, that a fearsome vampire pirate of your rising repute had to endure such situations-!

A sudden and loud clap snapped you out of those spiraling thoughts and drew the attention of those judging pirates away from their Estalian boss to a smiling Estalian musician. "Okay then! Enough making fun of things, let's actually get to work shall we? If nothing else, let's not shame the folks who chose this business as a way to make ends meet. If anything, they're our sisters- or brothers- on the black side of the law," Octavia gently encouraged. "I'm sure were they still alive, they'd approve of us taking the place over for even more skulduggery. So get over it, and get to it."

You blinked before tilting your head just so slightly to make an expression of thanks. You supposed that from time to time, your Magic Specialist did have a way with words that only a noble lady would. It was always a bit jarring to remember her background so.

"So then Admiral," she chirped, "How'd you like to start this gang war?"

Quite jarring, you quietly amended. Then you shook your head and pursed your lips. "Let's not do anything hasty. Everybody get settled in for a bit, and let's see what happens next. If your arrival's been noticed, then we can expect a response. If not, then we'll work at it from there."

(Officer Guidance: 100 +15 (Thankit) +4 (Pierre) = 119)
(Deception: 49 +12 (Diplomacy) +8 (Octavia) = 69)

The pirates got settled in, and very swiftly they found the remnants of alcohol that probably once was served to the establishment's clients. Some test sniffs and tepid sips later, it was deemed to be safe enough for consumption and so, the spirits flowed and rose. Much to a mix of your approval and dismay.

Especially your dismay when some of the bolder and risque crewmembers decided to indulge in some activities that had a soft ban on your ships, if only due to the awkwardness that would be sharing the quarters with so many others. But here on land, with only just slightly dusty bedrooms nearby, such indulgences could be had to satisfy such urges. The worst part was that as mortified as you were, you couldn't find it in yourself to tell them to knock it off.

They were already spending the night being dragged into this affair, so if they wanted to pass the time a bit, then well, you did set up in an abandoned brothel. Who were they to turn down such an offer? You groaned from where you sat, at the center of this all debauchery when another giggling pair decided to make use of the facility. "I'm not sure if the Lahmian Sisterhood would be horrified or proud of my work here. Maybe a mix of both, with an encouragement to join in to make it 'better.'"

"Oh, I don't think you're cut out for that line of work Admiral," Octavia breezily replied with a grin. She was the only one who still was at your present side, Thankit and Pierre swiftly making excuses to 'guard the perimeters' to make themselves scarce. Bruja! "You do have an alluring face and tongue, but you're quite too much of a firebrand when you get into it. Clients don't tend to like that in a service."

You threw up your hands. "And now here I am, being lectured on my appeal by somebody who regularly overindulges in whatever fleeting fancy they have!" Realization set in a moment later and you shot a curious look at the violinist idly fiddling with her instrument. "Actually, thinking about it, I'm surprised you're not joining in. Or just encouraging it so."

She raised an eyebrow and put on an offended tone. "Really Admiral? What do you take me for, a scandalous lady who chases pants and skirts alike at the first scent?"

"Yes," you deadpanned.

"Well, only if they're cute and they consent to it!"

"Oh, that makes it so much better." Your eyes fell to the glove she wore, the one with a dull blue gem embedded in it that was her fail-safe against true dark desire. "At this point, I doubt you'd ever change your ways even after we resolve that mess you've been setting up."

Octavia shrugged and placed her violin to the side, not an iota of regret in her actions. "Probably not, though I wouldn't say never so. Maybe I'll get better, or maybe I'll get worst," she mentioned nonchalantly. "But I think what matters more for me is to make sure I don't ever go back on it."

Your brow furrowed. "What do you mean? That you don't want to ever regret it?"

"Oh, certainly not." She gestured vaguely in the direction of those sailors now fooling about. "But more to the point of like them, when all is said and done, I don't want to ever wish to go back and undo my choices. Maybe I'll regret it, maybe I'll suffer the consequences of my debauchery and sin later. Yet even then, I'll grin and bear it maturely like the responsible individual I am."

...Come to think of it, not once had she actually gotten truly upset and discontent with your various lectures and blaming. Only just taking it on the chin and working to help you fix it however she could. The only excuses she gave was meant to justify her choice in the heat of passion, never a lie to your face to hide her proclivities. It was an odd sort of trust, you supposed.

A trust that suddenly became quite important when there was a knock on the door from the outside. Almost immediately everybody's hands shot to their weapons, some even stumbling out of private rooms pulling pistols from disheveled clothing. The atmosphere within the building grew even more tense when a voice sounded out, "Hullo! You're our new neighbor, right? Don't be shy, we're just like you."

It was that damn fake tavern wretch from earlier. You raised your jezzail, ready to blow a hole through the door, only to stare bewildered when a hand gently rose to push your gun barrel down. Octavia put a finger to her lips, and then curled her lips in an effort to strengthen her Estalian accent into something neigh-unrecognizable. "Oh, er, belleza, I've not the slightest idea! Please, for my dignity, I need some time!"

"Oh that's quite a lovely foreign accent dear!" There was a chuckle from outside. "Ah, you must be a young one, thinking you need to go through all that effort to draw in souls. You'll find out soon enough you needn't go that far, especially when we can work together and...share."

"Share?" The violinist squeaked like if she was a sheltered noble girl. "A-ah! Please, ajenores, oh I'm sorry! I'm so confused."

"It's okay, you'll get it in time. We'll leave you to it," the disguised being waiting outside encouraged. "We'll be waiting for you then, the Neighborhood Own's Association. And at least you're not so brutish to start shooting us like those rats just over there!"

Octavia gave you a meaningful smirk and you made a show of pretending to pull the trigger. "But guns are banned here, are they not!" She called out and this earned a loud snort from you, accompanied with slight snickers from the watching crew.

"They should be, hence why we're here after being chased out of L'Anguille." There was a dark muttering about guns coming in from a nearby port. "Anyhow, if you hear a disturbance outside soon, know that's us. We're just going to...teach those vermin that you don't get to muscle in our territory and get away with it. Probably just rough them up and hope they leave without much more of a fuss. Nothing too loud, otherwise it'd draw the city onto us."

"O-okay. Do...what you need to do!"

"Excellent. I'm sure in good time, you'll be welcomed in and incorporated into our little community. A brothel would be positively welcomed as a way to further establish an excellent front!" There was the sound of footsteps moving away and the crew within slowly relaxed, realizing they hadn't yet been made to be raided. Though before anybody truly dropped their guard, including those clutching at loose clothes, they turned to you with question in their eyes. There was an unspoken question there about the opportunity you may have just been given and you grinned at the ideas coming forth. You just had one question. "Octavia, when the hells did you get so good at acting?"

She winked. "Roleplay."

Honestly, you weren't quite sure what else you had expected.

[ ] Wait until the NOA moves in on the Skaven. Then fire on both from the buildings around them!

[ ] Drag Thankit back here by his tail and tell him to act as an envoy to send word to the Skaven about the incoming assault to see if they can't setup an ambush.

[ ] Wait until they leave their neighborhood, then quietly move in while NOA and Skaven duke it out. Then dare them to try and retake their occupied abodes.

[ ] Tell Pierre to try invoking his knightly authority to bring the city guard down on these inhuman occupiers both when they meet and clash.

- This one is definitely a bit bawdier than normal. But when there's a crit 100 followed by a Carolina/Octavia 69 roll, then I suppose we have to indulge.

14 hour moratorium to start a gang war.

So what's our current priority? Do let the ghosts and the Skaven kill eachother and ambush them both? Do we try and see if Pierre can charm the guards into joining in, or do we steal the ghost's house from underneath them while they're not looking?

I need to ask once again what is the goal here? Control a dead district for smuggling?

What different consequences are there behind the options?
Would
[ ] Tell Pierre to try invoking his knightly authority to bring the city guard down on these inhuman occupiers both when they meet and clash.
Lead to us controlling a smaller portion of the district?

Octavia is ... I can't say adorable, but refreshingly honest about her 'ethically slutty' ways. She will go out with no regrets and a smile on her face! And probably in the middle of an orgy.

So what's our current priority? Do let the ghosts and the Skaven kill eachother and ambush them both? Do we try and see if Pierre can charm the guards into joining in, or do we steal the ghost's house from underneath them while they're not looking?

I'd lean towards prioritizing getting into the house, though I would not say no to the opportunity to loot from either side. So probably shoot everyone is my preferred option.

I say we either kill both groups while they're busy fighting each other or get Pirre to call in some favors from the local knights.

[ ] Wait until the NOA moves in on the Skaven. Then fire on both from the buildings around them!
This option will mean if we're successful, we'll control a larger area of the city for a pirate hideaway in a port! If the Direliches haven't been disposing of their victims properly, we could also get some extra help when we do ambush them. Though, the odds may not be in our favor if both groups unite against us after the initial shock so we'll have to make it count

[ ] Tell Pierre to try invoking his knightly authority to bring the city guard down on these inhuman occupiers both when they meet and clash.
The odds of victory go way up if we get the knights involved. On the other hand, the knights get involved, decreasing the overall amount of land we gain from this. It will make the local knights aware of us but we will endear ourselves to them for bringing this to their attention and aiding them in taking them down.

After thinking about it. I'd rather not get involved with the local nobility. We are a pirate and we did hit their golden goose pretty hard. The militia may sound crazy but anyone that pays attention will connect the dots. We are a rather unique bunch.
