Chapter 13
Ying Li was afraid, no terrified, as she watched the men belonging to the Iron gang.
Not for her life, because she had long since steeled herself for death from the moment she took up the mantle of protector for the realm of Ta Lo. But, she was terrified of what is going to happen to her children once they killed her.
If only, she still had her powers, she would not be at the mercy of these men to safeguard her children.
"杀了她" (Kill her)
At the words of the man leading them, the men of the Iron Gang moved forward while some of them took out their guns.
She used her experience to deflect the punches and kicks of the men attacking her, but she also had to watch her back as she needed to be ready to dodge should the men start firing guns at her.
As she fought the men, the difference between their physiques started to show.
The men, who had Extremis just like most of the human population on the planet, started to overwhelm her despite her physique being slightly different from regular humans due to the fact that she and her husband had decided against using Extremis.
Just as she was about to have her head blown apart by a power punch from one of the men, the attacker suddenly dropped to the ground, his body starting to heat up exponentially and melt the ground, indicating that he was dead.
This stunned the men into inaction, an opening that Ying Li took advantage of and directly broke the necks of the men surrounding her, temporarily incapacitating them. She knew that this normally lethal wound would not work on Extremis-enhanced individuals so she took advantage of the situation.
She picked up one of the guns on the ground and started shooting the men in the head, a wound that would kill even an Extremis-enhanced individual.
The boss of the Gang realized that he was now at a disadvantage and used his enhancement to run out of the compound at speeds that would require Ying Li to use a sports car to catch up.
Once she was sure that most of her assailants were dead, evident by the smoldering ground under the gang members whose bodies were undergoing dangerous exothermic reactions and turning into lava, she started to look at the body of the first man to die to know just why he had suddenly dropped dead during their fight.
She had heard that anyone who had Extremis and died due to murder would end up turning into a ground-melting thermite but this was the first time she saw such a thing. As she observed the man, she spotted a hole in his head, similar to a bullet hole, except much bigger. With her suspicions confirmed she immediately turned her head to the roof and spotted a figure wearing a strange suit and mask who simply nodded at her and threw down a piece of plastic.
"告诉你丈夫，他欠我老板的" (Tell your husband that he owes my boss for this)
Just as he finished his words, the sky above the man distorted and revealed a strange-looking ship. The man jumped into the ship after which the ship vanished again.
Ying Li walked towards the piece of plastic that only had a stylized L on it. But this design was something that everyone on the planet knew of, so there was no need to say anything else.

I watched with amusement as the man in front of me stared forward stoically, ignoring his squirming colleague because of my security personnel who were surrounding us.
"So, can you repeat your accusations once again? Agent Coulson?"
The man did not even lose his cool and gave a polite smile as he spouted the same shit as before.
"Of course Mr.Luthor. I wanted to conduct an investigation into LexCorp under the suspicion that you were responsible for the kidnapping of Mr.Stark yesterday in Afghanistan"
"…And why do you believe that I would be responsible for his kidnapping?"
"It is quite obvious that you and Mr.Stark were competing with each other in various fields, it would make sense that you would arrange for the kidnapping or assassination of Mr.Stark so that he would not threaten your company further, and given the people you have been hiring and keeping out of the legal system, it would not be too far for us to think as such"
He kept staring at both Anatoli and Floyd who were standing behind me. Anatoli simply rolled his eyes at Coulson's words while Floyd gave him the middle finger.
I had recruited Floyd Lawton, AKA, Deadshot, when he was first arrested right after starting his career as a hired assassin in Gotham. I knew of his potential in the future and thought it would be a waste to have him under Amanda Waller, whom I was already preparing to eliminate since she was a serious security threat to all of Humanity.
Recruiting him was very easy, all I had to do was promise him a high salary, a stable future for his daughter through LexCorp's employee benefits program, and protection from the government for his past crimes. Things that are not even worth mentioning for me.
Ever since then, he had been assigned to be Anatoli's second in command in all secret operations that I was conducting around the world.
"Let me make it very clear Agent Phill Coulson of SHIELD, I have nothing to do with Tony's kidnapping. Now, go and tell Fury to worry about cleaning his own house before he starts pointing fingers at me"
I got up and turned halfway to address Coulson's companion.
"And Ms.Romanoff, before you do anything stupid like trying to infiltrate my company under some stupid guise, you should know better than anyone that no one can get past my security. After all, they are your 'sisters' aren't they?"
At my subtle nod towards the armored woman surrounding us, the Black Widow's face contracted into relief, suspicion, and disbelief in equal parts while she stared at the women, two of whom simply took off their helmets and waved, revealing none other than Yelena Belova and Melina Vostokoff.
"You can take a break for now, Ms. Belova, to catch up with your sister. The rest of you, go back to your tasks"
Wordlessly, the Widows followed Anatoli and Floyd as they headed out of the room after which I walked out and headed deeper into the facility.
I had work to do involving certain humans turned underwater humanoids in the Atlantic Ocean and I had no time to play with SHIELD or Hydra.

I stood there, not knowing what to do, as the woman that I thought of as my elder sister hugged me and Mom.
Despite knowing that the loving family from my memories of a long time ago was not real, I could not help but hug her, just like I did when Mom and I were first rescued by Luthor from the Red Room more than five years ago.
At first, when we realized that we were rescued by an industrialist like Lex Luthor, an American, we were afraid that we had simply traded one master for another. But thankfully, my worries, and the worries of my 'sisters' were revealed to be false when we were treated as regular employees instead of like slaves.
Lex gave many benefits to his 'Security Forces'. A fancy name for a private army. Paid leaves, monthly salary cycle, and state-of-the-art technology to ensure the safety of our lives on missions.
The missions were also not something that we truly despised like the ones under Dreykove where we were forced to assassinate anyone that he pleased, sometimes even destabilizing entire countries for his own gains. Lex Luthor, on the other hand, gave a clear briefing on what were going to do on a mission well in advance, the reason for the mission, and the need for the actions that we need to take.
Taking down corrupt politicians, Generals who were dabbling in human experimentation, and recovering dangerous alien technology before it falls into the wrong hands. Protecting innocent people from the hands of monsters and tyrants.
Of course, not all of the Widows were keen on suddenly working for someone they barely knew. Originally, Mom and I were worried that these minorities would be made an example of by Luthor just like Dreykov would do, but he did nothing like that. Instead, he listed them under his company's employee and marked them as caretakers of an Orphanage funded by LexCorp. An orphanage he opened specifically to take care of the young girls that were rescued from the Red Room who had not undergone the training yet.
If his previous actions had not cemented the loyalty of the Widows who chose to follow him before, after this action, our loyalty to him was set in stone.
As Mom and I sat down with Natalia to talk, her colleague walked out of the room to give us privacy but I knew the truth. He wanted to see if he could follow Lex to find out his secrets. But I was not worried.
For besides the dozens of Widows that were always following around everywhere in secret, he had two monsters in the form of Anatoli and Floyd. One, an expert hand-to-hand combatant supped up on Luthor's military-grade Extremis. A foe that would require an entire squad of Widows to take down. The other is an expert marksman that cannot miss, period. And now that he has also received the military grade Extremis, he was a threat that cannot be ignored by anyone.
Truly, Lex Luthor has quite the eyes for talent. Some of my sisters even considered the probability of Luthor having the ability to see the future due to the accuracy by which he can target corrupt or dangerous people.
But no matter what the truth is, Mom and I, along with the rest of my sisters, owe him our lives and we will never let him be targeted by anything threatening.

I find it hilarious that Natasha Romanoff got shocked to see her fellow Black Widows causally unmasking themselves to say Hi and her attempt to infiltrate SI Lex Luthor's company already shut down before it happens.
the amuding thing is coulson is probably actually honest with his reasons, Fury is just paranoid and covering bases. The problem is that inspcetion/investigation team was likely to have been full of Hydra agents tryingto loot lexcorp of its tech.
Got to admit i feel alittle bad about Shield. They have gone from having the coolest flying carrier to something that stark/lex/bruce wouldnt even class as basic tech. Hydra must be crying over their insight project.

Don't forget lex hasn't even introduced the surface to orbit Mac canons yet. Shields flying carrier and the carrier fleet the have (are constructing?) at their headquarters are about to become so militarily obsolete that pretty much anyone would be able to take it down without issue.
1. The helicarriers wil probably upgraded with the new tech
