Huh? If we can just buy it, why do we need to roll for the stuff during the smuggling action?

Recommended Investment:20k. Can be taken with To the Source for a 10k discount(airship costs) as a free action(but with a -10 to the actions taken next turn because of being pushed for time, unless you use separate Lieutenants and Squads for each). Move moonshine and tax-free booze to Atlas, where the tax on alcohol is quite excessive. Increasing the investment amount will increase the quality of the alcohol; the price assumes bottom-of-the-barrel beer. Middling wine would run you 30k, expensive stuff would run 50k and require a roll just to get it.

I mean as long as we can get it before the action so we don't risk failing it because of a bad roll for booze I don't mind. Anyway, which DC would be lower?


Absolutely possible. The easiest but most risky way would be to try to burn people in strategic positions above him; a less risky way would be to have him 'discover' information useful to the LMM and use it to curry favor. Other options exist, obviously.

Well, we already know he cheats on his wife with his boss. Depending on the relationship status of the boss, we could use that to blackmail her, or him I don't judge.
It wouldn't be as much as we have on Crim but still something. Makes kicking her/him out to promote Crim less useful though. If we could get SDC to give him his own subsidiary to lead...
Or maybe he could get us some contacts into Atlas and the SDC?
We probably have to spend a few Actions on looking into LMM and ways to get reliable Dust from the SDC to keep our trading business with Menagerie going.

Because the good stuff isn't exactly common. The roll is to find it and not get scammed.




Also, blackmailing the boss with it would have a chance of burning Crim as a contact.

In theory, Crim could be used to find willing contacts but blackmail contacts would be much harder.

In practice, it may be better to send someone in to Atlas to find a way of regularly make Dust 'fall off the back of trucks'...
