Yay! I got in! :)

Good luck and have fun to my fellow first wavers. And Congrats and hope to see you soon for the wait-listers.

One thing the GM said a couple of posts ago though....we don't have a scientist/engineer character. At all. :M

Someone at Wayne Enterprises/Industries/Whatever could substitute for that?

@Estro and I will draw up sheets for Lucius and a couple others, and for now that will be how research progresses.

Also, for those not currently on either Waitlist, don't be afraid to keep following this thread (and the IC when we get it up); things may shift down the road and openings may come up.

I have maybe 50% of a Victor Fries sheet written up, so I might be able to get that finished and someone else could grab it?

I promise to be a firm but fair bat-obsessed playboy billionaire.

@Estro does this make you Alfred?
Alfred will be an NPC but Estro and I are the GMs, meaning we have more control than Alfred over your world.

We are the ones who will be controlling where you go. We control who you face. We control just how deep the darkness gets.

Your fate is in our hands.

You exist in this world at our pleasure and whim.

loneliness + alienation + fear + despair + self-worth ÷ mockery ÷ condemnation ÷ misunderstanding × guilt × shame × failure × judgment n=y where y=hope and n=folly, love=lies, life=death, self=dark side

I am many things, Son of Wayne.
But here? I am God.
And @Estro is my Terrible Left Hand.

This Darkseid spiel reminds me: I know we're primarily focusing on Gotham City here, but is there any chance that some point in this RP's distant future, we could get some Justice League action going? Even just occasionally? Or even if not specifically League, something a bit more rest-of-the-DC-Universe-y, on occasion?

i just really wanna fight evil aliens with superman and wonder woman, okay

Don't make me call in the boy-scout.
Seriously though, please don't make me. I'll never hear the end of it.

Gotham is not an island of superhero-y stuff but it'll just be bits and bobs until the latter stages of the game.

So. Anything you need the players to vote on, GM?
I'll organize it later tonight or have @Estro put something up. Just 1 more item.

I knew I made a good choice picking you for Batman. You've got just the right attitude!

I'm going out on a limb and am guessing the final vote is how rich the Waynes are which means higher resources but in turn means corporate corruption becomes my problem far more easily.

Then again...privately owned space station...

Riches to... Uh, More Riches
Bruce Wayne is a rich young man. But how rich is he? This decides the starting resources for the Bat, and indirectly a lot of the other characters, via Batman's action as a benefactor/partner/catalyst. While being richer means that you have access to more resources, it also means that it's easier for things to be hidden from you, or for things to go arwy. Perhaps you're arming Islamic fundamentalists in the middle east. Perhaps a low level manager is bribing people to keep the accident figures in the factory out of the paper.

You have three options to choose from. Only active players can vote.

--Is he something of a trust-fund-baby and philanthropist, sitting on piles of money but not really connected to any one company, and mainly known for running a charity or ten to help orphans and whatnot? This will place Batman's fortune in the hundreds of millions, but he knows exactly where his money is and what it is doing, as well as giving him the most free time to dress up as a nocturnal animal and run around punching criminals (66 Batman, 89 Batman)
--Does he own/run Wayne Industries, which is a modest-sized company with a few divisions, but a focus on technology? This places Bruce Wayne's fortune in the low billions, but has moderately higher demands on Batman's time, and there are significant potions of his company that could easily escape his oversight for years at a time.(Batman Forever, BTAS)
--Or does he own a vast fortune and investment in a huge multi-industry Wayne Enterprises conglomerate, with companies in basically every industry ever? This will place you as one of the largest companies in the USA, and Bruce Wayne as one of the richest people on the planet, if not the richest. At this scale it is impossible for even the Batman to know every pie his company has its fingers in, as well as taking up the most time. (Comics)

[X] Middle of the Road

It's a good compromise - and even the downsides at least make for interesting story arcs.

My personal favorite. I'm voting for this one.
