I don't think anyone missed that being normal for Taylor sucks. I personally, and from what I saw in the comments most people agreed with me, thought that the other two options were simply
worse. Normal might not be that nice
right now but we are working to change that.
It's definitely something that needs looking at. Right now perk reward remains constant while the cost goes up; which results in the perk value (Reward/Cost) going down with each tier.
To make matters worse the reward being constant also means it's just flat out less valuable each time. Each tier increases our XP gain by 100/Tier percent, so the first is 100%, the second 50%, the third 33%, ect.
An example that demonstrates how seriously broken the current system is comparing the Tier 5 XP perk with the other Tier 5 perks.
The first makes us a freaking
Legend that inspires/terrifies allies/enemies. Going by the description it sounds like Taylor showing up would be, from a moral perspective, like
Scion showing up.
The second raises our power level to an
obscene amount. Remember that Precia, an SS-class mage, could full on
disable the Arthra and BoD!Reinforce pulled off this:
with what I'd guess to be an SS-rank, rather then it's normal S-rank, Starlight Breaker.
So having SSS-rank power is
crazy.
The final perk lets us
create spells like the above or even more powerful.
In comparison +2xp per update is really pathetic. Hell even the full on 12XP isn't that impressive since in
four updates we've earned 23XP* so it's not that much of an increase to our overall XP gain.
*Sure the
vast majority of that was due to successful rolls but presumably we're going to be getting more successful rolls then not through skills/excellencies.
