Since we're allowed to submit our own works— and my quest could absolutely benefit from some more user participation— I'd like to nominate:
Catalyst Quest by
@Alaric
The year is 606, and in your home— the country of Corcaea— the souls of mankind belong to demons. It is your mission to find a cure for the phenomenon that can turn men into monsters: the Catalyst. You play as Father Richard Anscham, leader of the Church of Mercy. As the lord of compassion, it is not only your hope to save the lives of your nation, and to bring humanity back from the brink of extinction. You're known to most people as a demon of faith, and pray that you can also save yourself.
The Gods are real, in the land of Corcaea. As a man with the unusual ability to channel the might of the entire pantheon through his own body, you wield unrivaled power. With that power comes enemies untold, false friends, and decisions that
really matter. Consequences for your actions can impact your functioning for months or years. The wrong move in a fight can get countless innocents killed. Showing a demon empathy and love can save their very soul.
Be it your personal image, the livelihood of your city, or the souls of others, it ultimately is up to you to decide what you're willing to sacrifice. Not only do I incorporate almost all votes that are feasible to combine, but I hear out all discussion as well.
After all, Catalyst Quest is designed to conquer
your personal demons.
This original quest takes place in a setting I have lovingly grown over the last two years. In this narrative quest, you do not explore the theocracy of Corcaea alone. In addition to a pantheon you are
intimately familiar with, there is a colossal roster of over 120 named background characters that bolsters your character-driven journey; who you can befriend, betray, love, and kill as you see fit. Action, adventure, romance, horror, and suspense all accompanies hundreds of original character portraits and background images, 1.7 million words, and updates
every single day. In addition to the beefy assets and media that accompanies the quest itself, I also have over a dozen threadmarks jam-packed with up to date information on everything from the settings locations, to the pantheon, to the demons you've saved (and slain), and to your very substantial character sheet.
Running Catalyst Quest is my passion. I strive to make every single update accessible to new readers. Importing the archive of 1.6 million words by hand was a herculean endeavor, but I must stress that it is
not necessary to read it in order to follow current events! In addition to illustrated timelines I've made for every story arc this far, I made a soft relaunch with the start of arc 8 (which is where our thread here on SV begins)! As they appear, every character and location has been reintroduced organically (often with new art and maps!), and I aim to continue to help people come into this story as easily as they can.
We could truly benefit from more participation, as some updates only get a couple of votes, and our reader count is far lower than most quests on the site. Catalyst Quest is a mature story with some incredibly dark and bizarre moments, but I hope some of you enjoy checking out my quest. Thank you for your consideration!

Edit: Given the long-running nature of Catalyst Quest (we just hit our 2-year anniversary!) the previous link is outdated. The current thread can be found
