Eh, Game Mechanics. Tekkamen in general were pretty absurd as units in that game. Miyuki is just lame as a character though :V

Sometimes Funnels that New-Types use are drills. I could've sworn I saw one of them use drill things >.>

And IRL if you turn a funnel around, it's kinda like a drill without the point or the uh, bits like a screw?

Obviously a new type of drill though. Cuz you can spin it and it's cone like.

As a huge fan of SRW, I'm going to make a note that Tamamo being a foxgirl is actually supported by OG canon. Maybe she's related to a certain sage fox in Baral, for instance? Or a much more famous one in another world, who works for the Shinra Organization?

In either case, I hope we end up with tailfunnels. Tailfunnels that also create magic circles.

Gunbuster's a bit much for the setting as it currently stands, and the Shizuma Drive has long since been and gone (Giant Robo was briefly mentioned in the OP's giant wall of text as one of the things that proved that giant robots are viable before the One Year War, so its probably either sitting in a museum somewhere just waiting for some maniac to break it out).
 
I'm locking the vote. Looks like we're playing as the sorcerer Yoshikage Makise, with her fluffy-tailed partner Tamamo and her mech Pantheon.

Update will come as soon as I finish the opening segment (since the latter part is already done), which might be a while considering there's some paperwork hoops I have to jump through in regards to school.

Details about what Pantheon is capable of will be up shortly in the second post. Edit: Its up.

You know, considering that our mech is a kyuubi and our partner is called Tamamo, does that mean that our mid-game upgrade's going to be called Amaterasu-Omikami? And become really, really shiny?
