[X] Learn about Buffy's powers
[X] Where are you hiding Wilkins?

The changes to Buffy's powers have been very useful and I'm interested in finding out more about why they are changing and if we can expect more. Seeing as the Slayer is a very old thing we might get more information on a few other things through this that have been teased at, like lachrymal artifacts and the sundering.

Wilkins has been showing up in Buffy's dreams and has knowledge of the present. I want to know what is keeping some part of him alive, if he is.

Hopefully the demon that gave Faith the bodyjacker is not in town, because Faith taking over Buffy days before the election is just about one of the few things I think could give it back to Carl. Even if the swap was caught early explaining anything Faith says to the people is gonna be a mess.

[X] Is Anyone Watching?

Fun factoid about the Watchers; the last interaction Buffy canonically had with them (at this point in time) was at the end of Season 3 when (via Wesley) they refused to reveal the cure to Angel's poisoning because he was a Vampire and so Buffy told Wesley (who presumably informed the Council) that she wouldn't be taking anymore orders from them.

That is probably why they haven't bothered to send a replacement Watcher; they figure Buffy will just ignore them. Besides it is not like she needs a new Watcher since she is doing her job (guarding the Hellmouth) anyway. My bet is they are far more interested in Faith, or rather finding and killing her so they can get a new Slayer.

I mean, when I go to Walmart, I usually walk in the front door. Isn't that what the Hellmouth is, when we get down to it? Small wonder everything shows up in Sunnydale.

I usually go through the side entrance we're the tires and oil change are. They can check you out there and there is usually a actual person there to check you out.

I sort of assume that the general watcher consensus is that Buffy will be dead soon. She "only" has Giles as watcher support and they consider him a failure and she has made herself a target for everyone in town by running for mayor. That leads me to think the two council factions are probably the 'ignore her and wait for a replacement' side and the 'this is our chance to loot the hellmouth' side. Canon Buffy didn't have as much they could see to offer the council so they tried to wait her out, Successor Buffy though could let them dig up a ton of stuff. If they were a more dynamic organization I expect they would have boots on the ground already and be trying to bribe Buffy to their side, the way WRH did. As they are though I expect at least a few more months of internal bickering before they even try to make a move.

No one's interested in finding out about the Yeti and why it keeps getting away? :(
Clearly it is here for Xander. If we just look away and give Anya free rein sooner or later she will show up wearing a yeti pelt, daring anyone to talk shit or look at her man.

Does that make Buffy the greeter or the store manager?

Thinking about it, the mystery we really should have investigated is why the SGC didn't show up to investigate the satyr UFO flying around. If fanfiction has taught me anything it is that buffy/stargate are the same setting after all.

S3.5E14: Angel vs. Dracula

The sky was unusually gray and drab today for Sunnydale, but Buffy had started to appreciate the merits of cloudy weather. It was nice when Harmony could get out and about a little earlier in the day. Of course, dating Angel could've been the same way, but he was really more of a late night person than an evening person. Or a morning person. Or a reliable at any time at all person, really. Not like Harmony, who she could for example, count on to be in the same place when she woke up as she was when she fell asleep.

And then another arrow went a couple feet wide of the target. Well, nobody could be perfect.

"I think I'm getting closer?" Harmony said.

Giles disagreed. "Something is fundamentally wrong with your form. Are you sure you aren't left handed?"

"Duh, yes. I always wrote with my right hand and everything!" Harmony said.

"I've seen your handwriting before. It only supports my theory," Giles answered.

In the wake of several regrettable ranged misadventures, they were getting some practice in with her watcher in the Crawford Mansion's expansive backyard. Harmony wanted to actually learn to use the bow she'd looted from Gwarg, but several hours of practice later she was still having trouble making progress, and Giles was at his wits' end. At least he was still able to see pretty well, in spite of it getting on into the night; Xander had equipped the mansion with high quality security lighting.

For Buffy's part, she really wanted to get better at throwing her hammer around. Expert conventional use of most weapons was almost automatic to her these days, but a four foot, fifty pound, distinctly-not-aerodynamic warhammer was a little too awkward to aim perfectly without some trial and error. Buffy had high hopes though, all those spikes on it promised good things.

While Harmony and Giles were trying to figure out the opposite grip, Buffy coiled her body around and whipped the hammer forward again, trying to minimize the tendency it had to tumble in the air. It crossed the fifty yard gap and hit the boulder she was aiming for with the backspike this time, cleaving off a shard of rock as it clanged off and fell to the ground. It was definitely better than the glancing blows she'd been getting before.

"Good show, Buffy!" Giles exclaimed. "Perhaps I should set up the trap thrower?" She could tell he was looking for an excuse to take a break from Harmony for a minute.

"Yeah, part of the whole point of this is flying targets," Buffy replied. As Giles bowed out, Buffy tagged into the Harmony archery lesson. "You don't think you're actually left-handed do you?"

Harmony gave her a sneaky grin and lowered her voice, with Giles out of range downfield. "I think you know very well that I'm right handed. Or was I-"

"We shouldn't do this now," Buffy chided lightly, but she was smiling too. "Maybe we'll experiment with that later. Let's see how your form is now."

Harmony turned to the side with her bow, lining up another shot. Buffy clucked and reached around her, adjusting the position of her hands slightly and pushing her arms out a little. She could sense Harmony reacting to the closeness, but this was totally innocent. Really. Mostly. "You know, I think maybe Giles has never worked with someone so well-endowed before?"

"What?" Harmony started. "Giles isn't into me is he?"

"No! No! World of eww." Buffy said. "I mean it probably gets in the way of you shooting one of these?"

"Oh, yeah, I had to learn to shoot in Archery so the string wouldn't hit them. Totally counterproductive."

"But in Archery class you weren't actually trying to hit anything," Buffy said. "Maybe whatever it is you were doing is bad for actual archery as opposed to sexy archery?"

They tried to work out a better position for her arms, but it was kind of awkward. Buffy eventually tried to work out how to do it herself, but her instincts kept putting her back into a stance that would be impractical for Harmony.

"Maybe you could just stuff your bra?" Harmony suggested.

"What?" It was Buffy's turn to be confused.

"I have no idea what I'm hearing, but I sincerely wish I wasn't hearing it," Giles said, having returned from his expedition with a little remote in his hand.

"If you did do you think you could trick your powers into showing you how to shoot that way?" Harmony said, ignoring Giles' complaints. "Like, maybe they account for your wardrobe choices? You can fight in heels, right?"

"Giles, is that even how it works?" Buffy asked.

"I haven't the faintest idea," Giles said. "It sounds preposterous and exasperating, which means it'll probably be a rousing success."

"Well we can't know until we try! We could probably figure it out in my room, Aphrodesia used to do it all the time and-" Harmony cut herself off abruptly, looking at something behind Buffy.

Or someone. Some part of Buffy knew he'd be there before she turned around. "Angel. Phones are a thing, you know."

"Some conversations need to be in person," he replied. "I see you decided to move your army into my house."

"Well, you weren't there, and the subtleties of property taxes seem to have escaped you," Buffy didn't really have the patience to dance around the issue. "Why are you here?"

"Why am I here?" Angel scoffed. "Why were you in LA, going on a rampage through my city?"

"Oh, is it yours now? I wasn't even sure you were still living there, and now you've got Mayor Simmons' old job?"

"You know that's not how these things work," Angel said. "At least it isn't how they're supposed to work."

"Hey! Who are you to say, old guy?" Harmony piped up, breaking out of her shellshock. "Maybe this is the wave of the future!"

Angel turned his attention to Harmony and stepped forward. Buffy moved to get in his way, but he spoke past her. "You were in LA too. Had to satisfy that new fledgling bloodlust, am I right? How convenient for you that your boss wanted to crack some heads and cause some chaos."

"It wasn't like that!" Harmony snapped out, but then stopped at a signal from Buffy.

"We did what we had to," she said. "The assassins there were a threat to my people, and we took care of it."

"What you took care of was half the supernatural power structure in the city, all at once!" Angel got up in Buffy's face, focusing on her again. "There's a power vacuum. Los Angeles is in chaos; every two bit minion in the county wants to be a gang lord and it's causing a bloodbath! Normal people are getting caught in the crossfire!"

Buffy stopped, wondering if they could've really been keeping a whole city in line. I mean, sure, there had been a lot of them, but they hadn't really seemed that tough, all things considered. She glanced at Giles, who had been warily quiet until now.

"It isn't unprecedented." He admitted. "Temporary interlopers such as the Haxil Beast you defeated notwithstanding, the, ah, overall quality of opposition outside the Hellmouth is less than you've come to expect."

"What are good guys even supposed to do then, though?" Harmony said angrily. "If you can't go around killing bad guys then what's the point?"

"Some of the 'bad guys' are in it for money and don't make many waves with normal people. On the other hand, some of them are in it because they like to burn down orphanages for fun," Angel said. "I should know, I was one of the latter."

"So you're saying that trained killers taking jobs from Wolfram and Hart were squeaky clean? Never killed a human? Never hurt a civilian? Helped old ladies crossing the street?" Buffy was skeptical.

"Maybe not, but-"

Angel was interrupted when Buffy's radio crackled to life. "Mayor Summers? We have a little bit of a situation on our hands if you aren't too busy." She thought she could recognize Sam Lockett on the other side of the line. She hoped it wouldn't be awkward, with Harmony listening in.

And Angel. "Do you have people out there just patrolling on their own and calling things in?" he asked, seeming a little surprised. "The Hellmouth's a dangerous place for humans to be looking for trouble at night."

"That's why they work in big teams, Angel. We know what we're doing here. Now let me do my job." Buffy turned her attention back to Sam on the radio. "Not busy at all. What's our weekly wrong?" Normally Xander would be coordinating the City Watch, but with the Wolfram and Hart situation resolved he'd taken the night off to go out of town with Anya. Their relationship was still recovering from the regrettable UFO kissing incident a few weeks past.

"There's a castle," Sam answered.

"I didn't know we had a castle," Buffy said. "What's wrong with it?"

"We don't," Sam replied. "Or, well, we didn't. But now it's here. It's where Teeth's mansion used to be."

"Are you sure Teeth's mansion wasn't a castle to begin with?" Buffy asked. "Or maybe it just came back more castle-y?"

"I'm not sure, I could check with some of the other guys-"

"Definitely wasn't castle-y." Harmony cut in. "Kind of garish and tasteless, but not a castle."

"Well there we have it," Buffy said. "Rogue castle. I'll be right down to check it out. Harm, you know the way right?"

"Yeppers," she answered.

"Buffy, this could be dangerous," Angel said. "The types of people who move castles around can throw around a lot of power."

"Wow, you think?" Buffy said sarcastically. "Are you worried about me now? I thought you were angry!"

"I still don't want you getting hurt!" he said.

"We can take care of her now!" Harmony answered, gesturing to Giles of all people to back her up. "We don't need your help!"

"You're hardly two months turned. You probably couldn't take care of a rabid dog," Angel scoffed.

"At least I didn't run off to angst in a slum after graduation! I died and I still stayed to help!" Harmony shouted.

"Shall we try to stay on the point," Giles said wearily. "Angel, you are correct that such a feat suggests a great deal of magical power, but all the same I'm not sure attempting to work together will be very productive. The situation in Sunnydale has changed considerably since you left."

Vote: What does Buffy decide to do with Angel?

[] "Get lost, Angel. We can settle your damage later, I have to be responsible and deal with real problems now."

[] "Fine! I guess you can tag along if you want. Just don't get in the way."

since Dracula is here we will need some back up and well it is a good chance to convince Angel to back up Gunn and crew.
