Strangers in a Strange Land [Mass Effect]

As a note, if something is common knowledge in-universe and can be found on the Mass Effect wiki, assume you can find it on the extranet without spending an action on it. :p

Given the situation I thought a not inconsequential amount of time would have been spent reading on the new surroundings. Enough time to count as an action anyway.

EDIT: Speaking from an IC perspective.

Wait, did Flynn develop a Connection with this team? Also, Knowledge (Artificial Intelligence): Trainee should be fine as a skill, right?

Nnnnot really. A turn covers three month. If you wanted to gain an in-depth understanding of galactic politics then sure - it'd count as Training, and you'd get a Politics skill at the end of it, at trainee level. As it was, your action sounded more like spending a few hours reading up on stuff on SpaceWikipedia and that's not something that requires an action and can be handled with a few lines in your IC.

Ah, no. Kind of derped, there.

Still, you can get their help with some things by invoking them as an asset.

Also, Knowledge (Artificial Intelligence): Trainee should be fine as a skill, right?
Artificial Intelligence would be a specialization for Computer Science, I think.

Is there a difference between Computer Science and Information Technology?

In any case, sheet is updated with new skills and assets. I'm pretty much done for the turn right?

Information Technology is concerned with information storage, transfer, protection and so on. Computer science is far broader, dealing with computers in general. I'm not a 100% sure if this is correct, since I'm just a uni student, but eh.:p

And yeah, you're basically done. I'll try to wrap things up with @Usandru and @Jemnite as soon as possible and advance into turn 2.

@ZiPeppe @Daraken @Usandru @Jemnite

So, this thread has passed on no more rested in peace been pushing daisies been an ex-thread been pining for the fjords for a while, now! It's been something like four months since the last post, really.

So, of course, I decided to attempt to revive this! Is any of you still interested?

If there are any openings as a result of previous players not returning, I'd be interested in joining in. I may be limited in my ability to get online between the 27th of March and the 6th of April, but other than that I should be able to take part just fine.

My (just updated) character sheet is here. I didn't include the point costs of the Assets since I don't know what they are - I realise that I likely won't have the points for all of them, but once I know how expensive they are, I can start removing Assets until I reach the limit.

If I get in, I plan to play in a mostly non-combat style - founding a corporation, exerting influence and perhaps at some point creating a Cerberus-esque clandestine organisation. If all goes as planned, of course.

Willing to let someone who didn't make the cut the first time take another swing at making a concept?

To be honest, I'm not sure - four players is a bit on the small side, but on the other hand, I don't actually have all that much time on my hands. If I'll accept another player, it'll be before turn 2 starts.

...hm, we haven't heard from @ZiPeppe yet. If he doesn't respond before turn 2 hits, there'll definitely be a new player.

EDIT:

My AMAZING HACKING SKILLZ tell me he's been last seen on 29th December, last year and his last post was in this thread, on 30th November.

Well.

Mecha is best technology.

In any case, I guess the submissions circus has officially reopened?

Of course, I've somehow contrived to be even busier, so... yeah. Please do most of the work for us, prospective players! :p

Actually, I wanted to make a spider tank with the Aldnoah tech. Anyway, I need to find out how I was supposed to do this again.

Okay, given the lack of any word from @ZiPeppe and his absence from SV for the last few months, I think I can safely assume he is out. S'yeah, there's definitely going to be a new player. :p

@Jemnite I will not stop bugging you about this until you actually post. :V
