From: Hzar Vressk, Hsskor Dominion
To: Mandalore @Icarus

The Clan Council would like to extend an officer of alliance and trade between Mandalore the Hsskor Dominion. We share common goals in this region of space as well as common threats, and our people have much they can offer one another. We think it would be in both of our interests to seek closer association and stronger relationships, to better defend our worlds from those who might see smaller independent polity's as easy prey. Together we are each formidable opponents compared to most independent powers but allied we might dissuade even more weighty powers without great cause, and trade between our space and yours could only enrich both of us.

From: Hsskor Dominion
To: Rattatak, Aqualish, Kalee, Iridonia, Pantora (messages to be sent separately, but the message is essentially identical) @Sidheach

The Hsskor Dominion wishes to extend trade between Trandosha and our many trading partners and your world. In these troubled economic times we believe every world should seek to extend the limits of their trade routes and seek to connect as many worlds as possible, to help as many worlds as possible prosper.

We would also like to request that we be allowed to build a branch of the Bounty Hunter's Guild in your territory. The Guild offers many services to governments who need aid in dealing with law enforcement or other such issues that is their specialty, and also an official Guild presence will hopefully attract independent operators in the region, which will reduce the friction between independent contractors and local officials.

To: Hsskor Dominion @Lord_Asmodeus
From: Admiral Theraan

While we will not allow a bounty hunter guild at Rattatak, or guild operations within our territory, we are keen to expand trade with the Dominion and trust your ability to guard the trade lanes in these troubled times.

We ask that all trade be conducted through the world of Timora.

Revolutionaries on Senex

---
Inspired by the actions of Akar Prost, the Father of the First Revolution, several similar such movements have sprung up across the Senex-Juvex Sector as the downtrodden masses and the slaves begin to rise up against their masters. Although it is unknown if these uprisings are directly sponsored by the First Revolution, that they share many characteristics with it and have been supplied behind closed doors by sympathetic citizens has caused fingers to be pointed towards Akar Prost even as freedom fighters take shots at the aristocrats and call for the downfall of the slavocrats who rule over them. Combined with aggressive moves from the First Revolution, which has begun building ships, as well as buying them from various other shipyards, and it is most likely that the Senex-Juvex Sector will see further bloodshed as revolutionaries and aristocrats alike fight for the heart and soul of the sector.

Summary

Senex-Juvex Sector seeing pro-First Revolution uprisings.

Occurrences in the South

Confederate Ships

---
Overshadowed by the bloody fighting to the north, the Confederation of Independent Systems and the New Republic have both continued to expand into those systems still yet unaligned in the Galactic Civil War. Under the command of General Kalani, the CIS has made multiple aggressive moves in surrounding systems, reclaiming old Confederate bases, violently toppling "oppressive" regimes, liquidating Imperials, and generally expanding in a manner that might be described as violent. At the same time, playing off of fears of both the First Revolution and the CIS, the New Republic has managed to lure several systems into the New Republic with promises of protection, security, and stability freed from fears of violent uprisings and droid takeovers that have plagued other unaligned systems.

Summary

CIS and New Republic expand.

Cleanup at Taboon

Hapan Battle Dragons

---
Keeping up their commitments to the Empire, the Hapan Consortium has quietly dispatched a fleet to Taboon where the Hapans have dispatched a small group of pirates who were using the moon of Vo Dasha as a base from which they could launch attacks on Imperial shipping in the region. With Vo Dasha being separate from the bigger pirate bases in the region, the attack would be a smooth and uneventful one, so much so that nobody would even notice that actions of the Hapans which was, admittedly, just how the Hapans preferred to get things done. Further driving the victory into the background would be the oh so tragic death of Elliar, wife of Prince Isolder, who sadly tripped and drowned while her husband was away on other business, something which has brought the Queen Mother a great deal of grief for she loved her daughter-in-law so. What is even worse, however, is that there have been rumours that the death was not an accident, as initially expected, but one that may have occurred at the hands of rival families or worse, at the hands of those most dastardly of terrorists, the Chainbreakers, rumours that have certainly shocked the grieving Queen Mother who hasn't a clue as to why anyone would ever want to harm the poor, pacifistic girl.

Honestly, it's just all very terrible.

Summary

Hapans clean up Taboon System.

Elliar, wife of Isolder dies under incredibly tragic circumstances that have left the Queen Mother heartbroken.

Honest.

From: Ruling Clan Leader Hzar Vressk

(Private)

Greetings Chief of State Mon Mothma

I, as I am sure you know, am Hzar Vressk Leader of the Ruling Clan of the Hsskor Dominion, and I wish to speak with you about the future of my people and the New Republic. I would like to make it clear at this stage that Trandosha and the Hsskor Dominion are not interested in joining the New Republic at this time, but this does not mean we should be at odds. There are many New Republic worlds in our region of space, and currently relations between us and them are varied, and as of yet we have had no formal diplomatic contact with the New Republic itself. We feel it is time for this to change. We would like to discuss the opening of trade and the normalizing of relations between the Hsskor Dominion and the New Republic and its member worlds. Of course we realize that as a democratic government you cannot force anything on your member worlds, however we feel formal diplomatic recognition and an increased and official trade relationship between the Hsskor Dominion and the New Republic, relations with member worlds nearby to us will improve and so will trade and diplomatic contact.

We are also potentially interested in licencing proprietary technology of the New Republic for production in factories and shipyards of the Hsskor Dominion, or in those owned by those with which we have good relations like the Verpine of the Roche Asteroid Field, or Ubrikkia. At this time we are particularly interested in freighter designs, potential trade and consumer goods, exploration and potentially colonization ships and equipment, and industrial and manufacturing equipment to help enhance industry on Trandosha and Wasskah. In the future we might wish to licence other New Republic products or designs as our industry grows, but we would be willing to discuss fair exchange for these licences with the governmental or corporate holders of them in the future.

The following speech was done at a large rally in Sentressa, a town on the world of Ghorman
(Partially plagiarized from several real politicians who write better then I do)

Let me begin by saying thanks to all you who've traveled, from far and wide, to brave the cold today.

We all made this journey for a reason. It's humbling, but in my heart I know you didn't come here just for me, you came here because you believe in what this Republic can be. In the face of devastation, you believe there can be victory. In the face of despair, you believe there can be hope. In the face of a government that's shut you out, that's told you to settle, that's divided us for too long, you believe we can be one people, reaching for what's possible, building our New Republic.

That's the journey we are all on today.

In this very plaza nearly three decades ago, hundreds of brave beings began the struggle against the Empire. Their story is part of the larger story of the Republican miracle. How, united by a common set of beliefs and their divine ability to go as far as their talent and work would take them, a collection of immigrants and exiles, of former slaves and refugees together built the freest and most prosperous nation the galaxy has seen in a thousand generations.

It was here, on Ghorman, that the cruelty of the Empire was revealed for all to see.

It was here, on Ghorman, that the lie of a peaceful resolution to this war was shown.

And now, again, on Ghorman, the banners of freedom and liberty fly proudly.

So I thought it was only fitting that here I would announce my candidacy for Chief of State of the New Republic.

I recognize there's a certain presumptuousness in this announcement. Unlike Mon Mothma or many of our other members of government, I did not spend years and years in the Republic Senate on Coruscant. But I have seen enough on Eriadu to know that something must be changed. While our people and our economy are pushing the boundaries of a New Republic, too many of our leaders and their ideas are stuck in the Old Republic. But that is the beauty of our grand nation: in the face of impossible odds, people who love their country can change it.

All of us know what the challenges are today -- a war with no end, Imperial atrocity after atrocity, too many proud and honorable species shut out of government, and families struggling paycheck to paycheck despite working as hard as they can. We know the challenges. We've heard them. We've talked about them for years.

What's stopped us from meeting these challenges is not a lack of sound plans, or a lack of valor or courage in our beings in the military.

What's stopped us is a lack of leadership.

What's stopped us is the failure of leadership, the smallness of our politics -- the ease with which we're distracted by the petty and trivial, our chronic avoidance of tough decisions, our preference for scoring cheap political points instead of rolling up our sleeves and building a working consensus to tackle big problems.

For the last several years we've been told that our species don't matter, we've been told that the anxiety Republicans feel about Imperial atrocities and genocidal maniacs appearing out of the core don't matter, we've been told that the malevolent threats nipping at our borders are hoaxes, and that nice talk allows war criminals to take positions in our governments. And when all else fails, when Eriadu happens, or when the incompetent in our ranks come to light, we've been told that our crises are somebody else's fault. We're distracted from our real failures, and told to blame the other party, or force-users, or those even more committed to our own beliefs.

Changing this won't be easy. And although government will play a crucial role in bringing about the changes we need, each of us, in our own lives, will have to accept responsibility -- for instilling an ethic of achievement in our children, for strengthening our worlds, and sharing some measure of sacrifice. So let us begin. Let us begin this hard work together. Let us transform this nation.

Thank you.

Taris

---
Another six months have passed and the Galaxy continues to teeter on the brink as worlds burn, refugees flee to and fro, and the Galactic Civil War continues to reap a heavy toll in lives and resources. Compounding the loss of Fondor, the valuable Outer Rim world of Eriadu, capital of the New Republic, has been heavily damaged while the death of Grand Moff Zsinj and the attacks upon the Corporate Sector Authority by pirates and rogue droids have thrown the Galactic North into a state of flux. At the same time, however, new planets have risen to the fore to replace those that have been lost and various sectors untouched by war have benefited from the chaos that rages elsewhere with certain stretches of the Outer and Mid Rims as well the Expansion Region benefiting from the woes that have plagued other regions. On the whole, it has nevertheless been an uncomfortable stretch for the Galaxy but one that it is striving to come out of intact, or at the very least bruised rather than maimed and bleeding to death, to the relief of many.

Noteworthy Worlds;

Taris - Seat of the Quelli Oversector, now under the control of Grand Moff Ausfeldroz, Taris has been one of the biggest beneficiaries of the Galactic Civil War. As the erstwhile heart of Grand Moff Zsinj's territory, Taris has benefited from a growing banking sector and from an influx of corporations and other entities that have fled the Corporate Sector Authority for safer ground after the aforementioned state began to collapse. One of the biggest companies to move during this veritable exodus has been Cybot Galactica which has moved it's headquarters to Taris in response to a loss of faith in the Corporate Sector Authority's leadership and the constant attacks by rogue droids in the sector.

Yavin IV - Although a minor and remote moon, Yavin IV has managed to benefit from the woes that now ail the Galaxy. While it has not become host to any great corporations or shipyards, the security provided by the Disciples of the Force has made it a popular destination for refugees seeking safe refuge while it's modest mineral wealth has provided incentive for the BalMin Corporation to establish operations on the moon. With at least a dozen settlements on the moon, each one overseen by the Disciples who arbitrate disputes, take up collections, and keep the peace, and a makeshift route connecting the Yavin System to Toprawa, it is also likely that the fortunes of the planet will grow over time.

Muunilist - Nestled inside of Oversector Outer and benefiting from Grand Moff Kaine's consistent efforts to maintain the stability of his stretch of space, Muunilist has benefited greatly from the Galactic Civil War. Snatching up several corporations and companies based out of the Corporate Sector Authority, either by enticing them to establish headquarters on the planet or by buying them out, the InterGalactic Banking Clan, at the least, has managed to prosper. Although the removed nature of Oversector Outer does prevent Muunilist from becoming as significant a world as Taris, Anaxes, or Coruscant, it has nevertheless made itself very rich and very comfortable for the time being.

Sanrafsix - After being abandoned for centuries following an outbreak of the Candorian Plague, Sanrafsix has been settled by the exodus of Corellians who have chosen to leave their planet in response to it's ongoing mistreatment at the hands of the Empire. With a significant number of engineers and other skilled personnel among the ranks of those settling the world, Sanrafsix has also been chosen to become the site of one of the New Republic's newest shipyards with the newly established Sanrafsix Corporation, run by a former high ranking member of the Corellian Engineering Corporation, taking charge of the facilities being constructed over the world.

Anaxes - One of the oldest human worlds in the Core, Anaxes has benefited from the Galactic Civil War in a slightly different way to most worlds. With the Regency Council and a significant portion of the Imperial elite now coming from outside of Coruscant, the Anaxsi have seized upon the opportunity to wrest away influence in the Imperial Centre that had once been held by the Coruscanti themselves. Aided by the deaths of a great many officers, moffs, and other officials either due to the war or betrayal, the efforts of the Anaxsi have borne a significant amount of fruit to the point where Moff Wullf Holt, of the famous Holt Family, is now considered to be one of the most influential figures in the Imperial Centre outside of the Regency Council.

Never Meant to Be

Sloane stood so close to the glass of the Mantis' observation deck that her breath left a little ghost of itself on the crystal surface. A tumbler of wine rested on the thick, reinforced frame as the admiral studied the spread of the dorsal batteries. The tang of the drink warmed her chest, settled the slightest twinge of emotion and relaxed muscles she could already feel resuming their usual stiffness. Her focus shifted, from outside to in, noting the grey peeking out at the temples and the lines makeup did less to conceal with each engagement.

"Ma'am."

Not bothering to look back, Rae lifted the cup by way of acknowledgement.

"Captain Brandt, to what do I owe the pleasure?"

She could see him in the glass, early thirties, not as good as she'd been, but no slouch. How long did he have? Advancement was quick these days but so was the tempo, the damned tempo. Never a moment to rest.

"I'm sorry, you said you weren't to be disturbed but we had an unscheduled shutdown of a transponder in the hangar bay and I thought it best to inform you, seeing as your authorization code was used."

"VTD-407 I presume? Yes. I authorized it."

"Ah, right. Did you have the pilot's identification number? The flight logs--"

"Delete the entry and mark the vessel derelict. We'll have a salvage crew clean it up when we hit Corellia."

The admiral sipped her wine and noted the protest rise, then fall in the captain's eyes. There were rules, thick books of regulations, but they were nothing before the rank when one had ascended so high. It was almost sickening if it wasn't so damnably useful. And there it went. She tracked the little gunmetal fleck as it darted away from the port hangar door, thrusters blazing against the black for a moment, and then hurling it in to hyperspace.

"If you love something, let it go."

"Yes, ma'am, I'll make the changes...sorry, what was that?"

"Nothing captain. Nothing."
~~~
"Yes, yes, you little bucket, the calculations are correct."
"WOooeeeeOOOP!"
"Just mind your station. We have a ways to go, and I need to sleep when I can."
Eyla'shak leaned back in the deeply cushioned pilot's seat and yawned. She hadn't slept a wink the night cycle before, and the first leg of the trip to Nar Kaaga was her chance to make up the deficit. As the twi'lek lounged back, the little R6 unit's black and chromium form trundled across the ship's bridge, adjusting and checking parameters, always hard at work. They cut an odd pair, the Imperial astromech and the lethan twi'lek in her Navy olives stripped of insignia, but no odder than the ship or their mission. Ray-ray had promised her a freighter when she was a better pilot, and a change from her faux freedom to something real.
She'd never expected it would come so soon.
@horngeek: VT-49 Decimator, navigator and co-pilot Eyla'shak, and R6-M3
Arrivals and Meetings
Nar Kaaga was wet.
Honestly, Ky'enai hadn't known why she'd expected anything else from the swamp planet she'd set the Claw down on. For once, she'd put shoes on- her feet were up to a lot, but not squelching through this mud.
The figure behind her squinted, rain dripping from his moustache. "Ma'am, that looks like the ship. We'll wait for you."
"All right. I'll be back in a bit."
The Imperial ship cut an imposing figure- larger than the Claw. She could fit a large squad on that ship, use it for boarding operations. She wouldn't be risking her home- Viera's ship- that way.
The ramp lowered, steam hissing out to reveal the two inhabitants of the ship- an Imperial astromech droid and...
A Twi'lek. Kye blinked. No, she wasn't seeing things, the figure in the olive uniform was one of her people. Lethan- the very rarest type of Twi'lek, so often valued as... slaves.
Huh. Rae Sloane was a complex woman, it seemed. Kye paused at the bottom of the ramp. "May I come aboard?"
The other Twi'lek nodded. "Ky'enai? I'm Eyla'shak, Ray-ray sent me to help you. And this is R6-M3."
Kye's lips didn't twitch. At all. "Yes. It's a pleasure to meet you, Eylas."
Walking up the ramp, she stopped in front of her new crew member- who she sensed no deception from. "Did she tell you what we're doing?"
The other Twi'lek paused, then nodded. "Yes. Fighting... the Sasi-Ruuk? I've got funds for mercenaries as well."
Kye smiled. "Well... that won't be necessary. Come, I'll introduce you to Captain Pryce."
In fact, flat-out, how much is this worth to you?
What I need that you can provide would be battle droids. Something suited for commando or hit-and-run operations. Not against the New Republic or Empire, so you don't have to worry about retaliation from either.
FOUNDING OF THE COMMONWEAL
"And you shall look out to the four corners of the land, and in these corners you shall find a bounty that fills the land, and having found this bounty, you shall be at peace."
Following the growing expansion of the revolution and a new confidence in its longevity, major citizens (but not Akar Prost) have unveiled a new galactic aid organization to be partially funded by the government of the First Restoration, in view of the the difficult situation across the embattled galaxy. Focused on assisting the poor and the downtrodden as well refugees and veterans of war, but in a much more cooler, more stylish, and better way than some shitty charity corporation like the "Piligrims" or whatever you even call those losers, the Commonweal is meant to be an officially neutral aid and development organization with few real ties to the Restoration besides its funding. The distribution of ideological pamphlets is strictly banned in favor of rebuilding and reconstruction aid, and it is open to all comers, though there are vigorous background checks for non-volunteer staff so don't get any ideas.
Although some enemies of the revolution have called the Commonweal a "front" of the Restoration, Akar Prost has challenged such objections. "It would honestly just be stupid," Akar Prost said. "Imagine if I made an aid org, and then burnt not only the goodwill of the organization but also our revolution by turning that org into just some kind of false front. It would also be exceedingly predictable."
Strong words from the Strong Leader. Besides, why do you think we need to hide behind a neutral aid organization to spread the revolution, comrades?
To: The New Republic @Cornuthaum
We would like to begin operating food and supply shipments from Restoration space to Eriadu at the earliest convenience, if you would allow it.
The Commonweal is a strictly neutral organization in galactic affairs. Our primary goal above all is to provide help to the helpless. We will respect the borders of those states which do not want us in their borders, but we ask that in turn our neutrality is respected and we are not attacked in the performance of our sentientarian duties.
We are also looking for donations, both in materiel like ships and medical equipment, and in credits.
While we will not allow a bounty hunter guild at Rattatak, or guild operations within our territory, we are keen to expand trade with the Dominion and trust your ability to guard the trade lanes in these troubled times.
We ask that all trade be conducted through the world of Timora.
From: Hsskor Dominion
To: Admiral Theraan @Havocfett
We had not known that Rattatak had fallen under the auspices of the Ssi-Ruuvi Imperium. We had hoped to recruit from the people of Rattatak for our Guild and for our colonization efforts in the Mid-Rim as well as opening trade.
Trade between us seems like it could be lucrative, and we will seek to open trade routes to Timora. As for guarding trade lanes, we will of course protect those trade ships within our region as we do for all others with which we trade, but our reach is unfortunately limited in this matter to our region of space.
The Supreme Commander's address following the victory at Eriadu
[Sloane delivers the speech direct to camera, flanked by the admirals and marshals of her fleet. The stage erected in the yard of the primary Denon garrison sports a subdued display of squadron standards and Imperial insignia.]
Citizens, soldiers, brave defenders of the Empire, we have struck a blow.
We have struck against anarchy, against sedition, against those that would see nothing less than the destruction of our way of life. Our enemy rejects reason, they dance to the tune of demagogues and terrorists and have as policy rejected peace at every turn. We fight against them, against that descent in to Republican madness, but where they live only for mindless opposition we stand for more. Take pride in that, citizens, and hold it close to heart.
Even as we attack, we build, strengthening the institutions which support our lives and livelihoods. Security, order, prosperity; these values unify us and elevate us, the source of our courage, our valor, our resilience. It is together that we forge our future and defend what is ours, so that our empire, and our children, will survive. Only the New Order, our Order, holds the promise of a future. Victory promises peace, but for us, peace is victory, the triumph of our indomitable will.
The rebels would have us think that Eriadu was unique. Let us not forget! We remember the agony of Fondor, the agony of Corellia, the agony of Jarvis III. Rebels, traitors, terrorists, each with their own terrible designs, have inflicted a loss upon the empire that we will not forget. Whether they come from on high, or whether they land on our hallowed planets, turning the fight to savage knife-work...it matters little. The dead are beyond caring. This is the galaxy the rebels would have us live in. They would set every inch of it ablaze for their ideology, careless to the consequences of their action, drunk on anarchy and fanaticism. They wager their citizens' lives with reckless abandon, committed to the slaughter of billions without recourse. I will see to it that they regret that commitment.
We have struck a blow, and we will strike again.
Fall of the Crimson Empire
Garm Bel Iblis
---
With the other two men of the Triumvirate dead or gone, all that remained of the Crimson Empire would be Grand Moff Jaeffis. Stripped of his fleets, penned in on Harrin, and cut off from all hope of reinforcement, the final hours of the Crimson Empire would be chaotic ones, filled with frantic communiques to and fro, offers of rescue and asylum, and calls for surrender even as the Grand Moff prepared for one last glorious stand against the Rebellion. Such a dramatic stand, however, would be denied to Jaeffis for several reasons many of which revolve around his own stubborn refusal to accept the offers of aid thrown his way by countless powers who, for one reason or another, had little interest in seeing the Grand Moff or his worlds falling into the New Republic's hands. Though these offers had been made in private, known only to Jaeffis and his inner circle, the death of Supreme Commander Carnor Jax and the flight of Grand Moff Hissa had thrown the Crimson Empire into a state of chaos and allowed their assets to fall into the hands of others or to simply go rogue including informants, holotaps, and listening devices.
Having learned of these rejected negotiations and offers through Grand Moff Hissa's extensive intelligence network within the Crimson Empire, primarily aimed at Jax and Jaeffis to the Grand Moff's innate paranoia, Rear Admiral Verza would consequently decide to act against Grand Moff Jaeffis before his stubbornness saw them all killed. After gathering together a cabal of like-minded officers, Rear Admiral Verza would lead a mutiny on Harrin, seizing control of the planet and the Crimson Empire's remaining assets and arresting the Grand Moff after an attempted suicide, an attempt that would be foiled after the mutineers provided immediate medical attention. With the Grand Moff in custody and Harrin under their control, Rear Admiral Verza and his fellow mutineers would negotiate their surrender to the New Republic with Jaeffis being handed over to face trial while the officers were granted pardons and offered protection in exchange for the peaceful handover of the Crimson Empire's territories to the New Republic's control.
The only names that would not be accounted for during the surrender, that is to say the names that were not already marked as dead or missing, would be the seven remaining Imperial Guardsmen who had joined Carnor Jax in supporting Sate Pestage with said Imperial Guardsmen having vanished during the mutiny.
Summary
Rear Admiral Verza mutinies on Harrin and captures Jaeffis.
Crimson Empire surrenders to the New Republic.
Last remaining Jaxite Guardsmen vanish.
Furthermore, 500.000 credits are offered for any information that leads to the capture of those members of the former Imperial Guard currently in hiding.
In their decades spent hiding underground, the Geonosians have become inveterate – even obsessive – recyclers, capable of finding a use for practically anything. This attitude continues unabated in the face of greater resources, leaving dust-caked Separatist watchposts eagerly stripped of elements that even the galaxy's other salvagers thought not worth their time.
It is an attitude, in the Worm Queen's view, that could do with some proliferation throughout this waste-filled, ruin-scattered galaxy, and late last year she commissioned a young engineering group of native artisan-caste to cut their mandibles on the problem.
Their solution, fittingly enough, reuses tried and tested technology found throughout the galaxy, glued together with efficiency measures developed during Geonosis' reclamation of their system. At the start of the year, they present the queen with a simple yet robust package system of roaming scan-satellites, equipped with drop-units of salvage and repair drones. A ship can launch the satellites into the orbit of a planetoid, upon which it performs a simple (albeit somewhat modified) survey scan, identifying energy hotspots, distress transmissions, starship waste dumps, mechanical graveyards, terrestrial anomalies indicating abandoned settlements or older ruins, known outpost co-ordinates that have since gone silent, lingering radiation signatures or magnetic fields suggestive of old battlesites, and so on.
The released droids hone in on these areas following a simple grid-based priority algorithm, and analyse the situation with their simple minds. Battlefields and abandoned areas are disassembled for recycled scrap, which can be repurposed by construction units to build shelters or perform infrastructural repairs in any relief situations, but otherwise returned to storage nodes on the satellite. In relief situations, the droids clear debris, establish basic shelters, and call in specialist aid using the satellite (and linked ship) as a relay. Nothing is wasted, everything is reused. Even the high-powered scanners are intended to largely fuel themselves through solar sails and reusing the low-grade remnants of dumped engine cores, which all but litter the surfaces of uninhabited moons throughout the galaxy.
The Locust system is rolled out across Ea to great effect, and in the wake of the Empire's indiscriminate rampage toward Eriadu, Locust packages are soon loaded onto Senate-vetted relief ships headed across Republic space, easing the burden of repairing the galaxy's wounds.
At the insistence of a visiting Republic bureaucrat, these external units are also programmed to leave more delicate sites – ancient and undocumented ruins, for example – scanned and relayed, but otherwise untouched. The Queen doesn't quite get it, but apparently ancient cultures are important, and shouldn't be torn asunder for spare parts even if they clearly failed.
----------------------------
Other, less successful ventures have also been afoot.
Despite – or perhaps because of – their long experience with doing so, Geonosis' engineers feel increasing frustration at the need to frankenstein machines together out of old warmachines and misused parts. There's hardly a labourer on the planet who doesn't know how to convert a B1 blaster into a laser welder, much less repurpose a Droideka shield core into providing terrestrial storm-guards for a small surface hab.
At some point, a group of like-minded Geonosians began pooling observations on the most useful multipurpose parts from across a variety of droid lines. They likely had nothing in mind beyond cornering the growing black market on certain parts, but it soon developed into something larger, and with a dash of the industrial mania for which geos are known, transformed into a project. Larva is a new model for droid development, an open-source AI skeleton which can – with just a little effort to learn, the creators insist – be easily modified to run any number of loadouts on a highly modular droid framework. Just swap out a few totally minor parts, do the tiniest amount of recoding, and you might as well have an entirely new specialist droid!
Unlike Locust, currently still proprietary technology awaiting a corporate roll-out, Larva is released to the public through the reborn Chrysalis Corporation, a long-defunct Trade Federation front company that was based on Geonosis for tax purposes.
It meets some technical acclaim, but take-up among the wider, less technically savvy public is slow, and the basic modular droid unit, GN2, is treated as an obtuse oddity by all but the experts.
Alas, it seems very much a product for snobby circuitheads, by snobby circuit heads.
-------------------------
More popular is the thoroughly sanitized but still highly dangerous Geonosis Gladiator, a new show broadcast across local space and bootlegged elsewhere by a cult following. The sight of warriors and droids slugging it out in extravangant and often outlandish combat scenarios brings a cheer to the mandibles of every Geonosian, and has begun to attract pit fighters of other species who want to test their mettle (and earn those sweet sponsorship creds) at minimum risk to their life (if not their organic limbs) in the shifting mechanical arena of Geonosis.
Bizarrely, the arena's first champion, Pakgamon, has apparently taken a leave of absence. Rumours have sighted the four-armed geonosian several spacelanes distant, fighting as a member of the so-called Chainbreakers. This fanciful notions no doubt stem from that group's adoption of classical gladiatorial weaponry, albeit of a rather more lethal variety than the show's defanged variants.
  • Geonosis launches its Locust system across the Ea System and the planets devastated by Sloane's rampage.
  • Geonosis continues its existing R&D projects in co-operation with partners both inside and outside the New Republic.
  • Geonosis focuses all industrial capacity on subterranean infrastructural expansion throughout the Ea System.
  • Install Gentoo you plebs
  • Some damn fine television.
Attack on Corellia
Sabine Wren
---
Parting ways from General Syndulla some time prior to the Battle of Scarif, Sabine Wren has spent the past eight years engaged in a one woman fight with the Empire. Sabotage, Grand Theft Auto, Conspiracy to Commit Murder, Destruction of Public Property, with just shy of a decade in which to play havoc within the Empire's borders, there is little doubting that the Mandalorian has more than made a name for herself. Combined with her refusal to join the New Republic or return home to Mandalore, largely because she was disinclined to stop doing what she was doing, Sabine Wren would establish a reputation that would ensure she never lacked for friends amongst the enemies of the Empire and would face certain death if ever captured by the same. It is for that reason then that when the Corellian Resistance came upon information that was monumental in nature and required a hand that was unaffiliated with the New Republic to act on said information that they would put out the call to Sabine Wren there were Imperials on Corellia in dire need of explosions, a call which she would accept.
Arriving on Corellia in disguise, it would be explained to Wren that the Empress, Ederlathh Pallopides, had arrived unannounced on the planet and that it just so happened that sympathisers in the Corellian Government had leaked her itinerary to the Resistance. Disinclined to pass up an opportunity to take down the Empress, Wren would readily agree to coordinate and lead the attack on the Empress, going so far as to handpick a team made up of local Corellians and friends she had made while blowing things up across the length and breadth of the Empire, before it was too late. Choosing a planned public appearance at the Protat's Estate in Coronet City, Sabine Wren and her team would prepare for a decidedly flashy plan involving a stolen freighter, enough explosives to put a hole in an Victory Star Destroyer, and a significant amount of luck. Although some would describe the plan as insane, ludicrous, suicidal, and mental, it would nevertheless proceed as planned with the Corellian Resistance smuggling the team into place just as the function began at the Protat's Estate.
Having decided that the best way to kill a force-sensitive Empress protected by some of the finest bodyguards in the Galaxy would be through overkill, the team would plow their stolen freighter straight into the Protat's Residence at the height of the festivities while under heavy fire from surrounding security forces. With the Darksaber in hand, Sabine Wren would then emerge from said freighter with a dozen members of the Corellian Resistance and a self-taught Jedi by the name of Korto Vos and carve their way through Stormtroopers and CorSec alike on their way to kill the Empress. Had the Empress actually been present, rather than at the Fel Estate dazzling her guests with her mastery of the Force, the plan might very well have succeeded but as it was a trap, and a well crafted one at that, it would prove to be a disaster for the would-be assassins. Cordoning off the Protat's Estate, and apologising to him for the gaping hole in his residence, the Empire would slowly move in, gunning down the rebels before eventually taking Sabine Wren, Korto Vos, and three surviving Resistance members prisoner.
Preparations for such an eventuality would then be proven to have been futile as Lieutenant Kallus, who had been transferred to Corellia three years ago and placed in charge of security, revealed that the Resistance had been infiltrated as he casually stepped into the smoking freighter and displayed the inert explosives to the surviving rebels. Due to the value placed on Sabine Wren and Korto Vos, the former due to her history and the latter due to his force-sensitivity, and internal machinations within the Imperial Security Bureau, the two would be escorted to an undisclosed location while the captured Resistance members would be delivered to Governor Fel as a thank you for his role in the operation.
Summary
The Corellian Resistance employs Sabine Wren to lead a hit on the Empress
The mission fails after it is revealed that it was a set up.
Sabine Wren, Korto Vos, and several Resistance members are captured. The former are taken into custody by ISB while the latter are handed over to Governor Fel.
Hello Mr. "Fel", I will give you great offer. You have in your hands Mandalorian, very nice, very good. I will give you 2,000,000,000,000 credits for Mandalorian. I am an Imperial Moff who has been lost in the Unknown Region for many years. Now I return. Give me the Mandalorian and 2,000 credits now and I will give you all my fleets, including twelve super star destroyers and three stars of great peace. Peace stars. Yes. They explode stars to make peace.
Please send Mandalorian to Eriadu in Republic Space, I will rendezvous at Corellia with my fleets.
In Akar/Karfeddion
"I can't believe you did this, Akar."
"I owed Sabine a favor. Let it not be known I never repay favors."
"This is not repayment. I think you probably made your debt to her worse. How do you expect anyone to believe this?"
"I don't believe in debt and I've never believed in debt. Debt is an imperial fabrication. And she never specified the amount of effort I had to go through to help her. It was just requisitioning breakfast on Lothal. Now, mujafruit..."
Unfortunately, the Office of the Governor does not have the authority to release prisoners held by the Imperial Government.
Governor Fel would also like to extend an exasperated sigh, and a complaint that he is a principled man, and cannot be hauled in by any offered bribe, never mind such a ridiculous offer.
Please go through the official channels for petitioning the Empress if you seek a pardon.
