Hmm, something to keep in mind though is that paper is probably still somewhat expensive. A printing press will reduce the costs of books but only the part of the cost that comes from writing them. We may need to work on automating paper production too for viable newspaper coverage and books cheap enough to be accessible to commoners.

Agreed, I wish we'd have done that before heading here so we can seem more like a normal spirit/god but better late than never.

I'll just jump on this train but I don't like it. We don't have any connections or any idea what of the market is like. I felt like we should have played it slow transport goods big or small to different places and understand what were and AFTER that we could invent the printing press, but oh well.

We have mad commerce skills beyond normal human limits. You can assume that we will play the market well. However if you want to increase our odd put in a stunt.

Libralism in Creation? This is going to end in so much fire and death.

Humans kind of are the lowest rung of the totem pole in Creation. That's just fact. Giving them easy steel and the like will help with some of those other low rung issues, but a lot of them humans literally just cannot tackle.

Should be a fun ride at least.

Why would liberalism only apply to humans? No reason gods/godblooded/exalts/whatever shouldn't be allowed to run for office or own a business. As long as we exclude terrifying abominations against life, logic and sanity from the system including more capable beings might not crash everything. Them being more capable should help them getting elected and keep them producing good results. Democracy should be about putting about competent beings willing to work for the common good in charge.
 
We are a spirit with Solar Bureaucracy charms available, so our quest is not utterly hopeless. Ideally, we will inspire some new Solars.

I need Perception+Bureaucracy, and the specialty is applicable. So 8d10. Difficulty is 2.

Edit: This is to quickly become familiar enough with the price structure of things to know how big a loan you'll need to take out from the bank.

    • When you walk into the bank every head turns towards you. You nod back in greeting, before seeking out someone to help you. Eventually someone works up the courage to approach you.

    "Hello and wa...welcome to the Harmony Spire Bank. How may I assist you sir?"

    "I am seeking to take out a loan so that I may start a business. Could you direct me to the person I must speak to?"

    The man blinks in surprise. "Certainly sir. Follow me."

    He leads you to a side office, and knocks twice, two sharp raps each. Then he waits a moment, and turns back to you. "The manager is currently speaking with another client but will be with you shortly. Ah. I'd ask you to have a seat but, um, you don't seem to have the right anatomy for it."

    You nod in confirmation, "Then may I simply curl up next to the chairs while I wait?"

    "Ah, that should be fine."

    So you curl up and wait.

    -One Hour Later-

    The door opens and a fellow comes out with a smile on his face, stopping short at the sight of you. You uncurl and stand. "Hello, I see your meeting went well. I wish your enterprise success."

    He starts, "Ah, well, thanks. Likewise to you." And he hurries away.

    You enter the room.

    It is a spare room, spartan in furnishing. There is a desk, and a man behind the desk. His face is severe. He looks up at your entrance, and blinks once. "Here to ask for a loan?" He ventures, somewhat unsure.

    "Yes," You nod at him, "I wish to start a business and need starting capital."

    The man nods, relaxing slightly, clearly back in comfortable territory. "I see, how much were you looking to take out?"

    You quote a sum.

    "And what do you have for Collateral?"

    "Nothing."

    He sighs, hand drumming once on his desk. "Nothing. Well. Tell me how you plan to turn the loan into a functioning business and I may be convinced to authorize the loan. But know that without collateral it is... unlikely in the extreme. Impress me." He doesn't seem the easily impressed type.

    Most people here probably just aren't bothering to look into Creation at all and are missing the nuances of it. Creation really is a different beast from anything you can really point at in Earth's history. I mean, the era of the Shoguns in Japan is kind of close, but even that... (which makes sense considering Creation is a mish-mash of a lot of different historical references).

    Although I have to scratch my head on this one in particular as well. Even in the modern day trying to start big like this usually flops.
     
    That is not how I expected our character to go about it. We have the ability to make huge amounts of money in short amounts of time taking out a loan seems odd.

    Then again we could take out the loan use the money to buy stuff for Arbitrage sell it for way more and pay it back immediately.

    A properly stunted business proposal would be good, but I got 5 minutes before leaving for work.
    This difficulty is high but not really a problem for us.
