[X] Just find and kill that dragon yourself and there'll be no more problem. You're so smart, you must be a genius.
------------------------
Despite what your master said, and the fact that you went to her for advice, you decide not to follow her advice. If the problem is Negi trying to kill a dragon and putting himself in danger, it follows that it can be solved by simply killing it.
No dragon equals no danger for Negi, no danger for Negi equals no angry Asuna, and no angry Asuna means no more problem. You're so smart, you must be a genius. It's probably all this time spent with Hakase.
Having taken your decision, you shortly fall asleep.
The following morning, you think back on your decision and realize an important problem: on top of not knowing much about these beasts, you have no idea where this dragon is. This might be a problem, especially since you can't exactly go ahead and destroy the whole area, given people live here.
You munch on a toast on your way to school while thinking about how to solve this problem. You have a few options, each with their own advantage and disadvantages.
Given the child wants to fight it and the fact that he has his job as a teacher, it shouldn't be too far. At most one day away, if he plans on attacking during the week end; it would give him the time to go, fight and come back. The problem with that was that the area he could cover in that time was rather large, given his ability to fly. Also, since no one said anything about a dragon nearby, it meant it was hidden.
You could maybe ask Hakase to build you something to find the beast. Doubtless it has some particular sort of signature as it seemed like a powerful creature going by your master's reaction. However, doing that would mean using Hakase's time for your own selfish goals, and one of the good points of your plan was that it would be swift and resolve Asuna's problem with no delay.
Thinking about it, Caeli sounded like she had some means of gathering information, so maybe she could help. Sure, she apparently doesn't want you to fight, but if you make her understand you'll go anyway, you'll probably even be able to get some equipment from her.
Speaking of people who want you to live a peaceful life, the faculty or your master might know a few things given they pretty much control this area. The difficulty would be in convincing them to help you, especially after having talked to your master the day before.
Finally, while that would probably anger Asuna even more, going directly to Negi for information would work. Maybe going through Sayoko would be better; she's her instructor so she should know at least a bit, probably. Or have enough influence on him to force him to talk.
You arrived to class thinking about all that and weighed your options all day. As the day ended, you had finally gotten to a decision and went on your way to execute it.

You go to
[] [contact] No one; you'll manage on your own.
[] [contact] No one, but a quick trip to the library might point you in the right direction.
[] [contact] Hakase.
[] [contact] Caeli
[] [contact] The faculty in general
[] [contact] Takahata; he's an actual teacher
[] [contact] The Principal, he's supposed to control this area, right?
[] [contact] Your master. Again.
[] [contact] Negi
[] [contact] Sayoko
[] [contact] someone completely different! You had a sudden stroke of even more genius! (write-in)
Given you thought for quite a long time, you also reflected on why you want to do that, and the main reason is
[] [why] You genuinely think it's the fastest way to be friends with Asuna (or at least calm her down)
[] [why] You want to protect Negi the only way you know
[] [why] Hakase gave you a nice gift and you're pretty sure you can do something nice with dragon skin in return
[] [why] You want to learn more about magical threats
[] [why] You want to kill a powerful creature to prove yourself that you haven't lost your edge
Kind of an in-between, but given there are quite a few possible ways to go around...
