Space Marine Quest REDUX: The Great Rift

[X] Sajak Gorat

[X] The 9th company, who is culling Ork infestations on the Agri World of Shangri-La.

Pulled the name out of a Dothraki name generator. Sajak mean Rider and Gorat means to Charge so the name would mean something like Charging Rider.

Lorewise there should be another chance to get a specialist role.

From what I can tell? Not really.

Chapter specialists like Apothecaries and Techmarines require both the required talent and doctrinal thought for being accepted into training for the specialists. The Former is all that is required for the Apothecary, but both are required for a Techmarine, of which it's pertinent that the initiate in question goes to Mars. While you could gain the required expertise through experience, it would take an exorbitant amount of time and resource the chapter might not want to spend.

A Librarian is flat out since you need to be a psyker to do so.

The only one I can tell would technically be feasible would be a Chaplain, and even then the Chaplaincy would probably require some extensive tests to test your faith.

And even if it's possible, spontaneously wanting to worship the Omnissiah after most of your training was spent disdaining them would probably ring some alarms in the chapter.

As for rerolls, The only thing I would rerolled on this thread was the chapter generation. From now on, I will not be rerolling any rolls.

Chaplains are not normally picked out during Scout training to my knowledge, it's usually a position given to a Battle Brother who has displayed a skill in oration and a great degree of spirit. Apothecaries likewise may be chosen from full Space Marines who display excellence in biological matters, although they tend to be found sooner than most other specialists. So if our Willpower stat is high alongside our Fellowship, we can probably be inducted into the Chaplaincy.

Nothing says we can't be a technical minded scout-sarge eventually, fiddle with explosives and such

the fact remained that your chapter's scouts had a much higher turnover compared to more aggressive chapters
Shouldn't it be lower turnover in our case, as the scouts of the chapter don't take as much risks and so die less often?

[X] Sajak Gorat

Gorat might be a little to close to Borat to my taste, but I like Sajak

Regarding the specialists rolls, would we still go through the 10th company and time as scout if we had rolled to become one?

sad that we dont get Techmarine. Never seen any Space Marine quests where the MC is a techie. Of course this just means once we find an STC we are going to have to build it how the Old Humans wanted it built, damn the admech
